Review of One Touch Oscillating Heater/Fan, 9 1/8w x 9-5/8d x 13 1/2h
This has been a nice space heater to use. It has manual low, manual high, and thermostat temp auto settings,. You can either use oscillating or turn it off with switch. On high, this fan is a bit noisy, but that is my only complaint. I own two different Holmes heaters, and I like both.

Reviews of Bodum 11451-565US 17-Ounce Electric Water Kettle, Green
This thing is fast! And the design with the flip lid is rather clever. I like how you pick the pot up to pour and it is not connected to the cord. A very well thought out design.
The lid is attached so it is difficult
to clean with soap and water. But
it is compact and easy to travel with

Great water boiler. I know this brand from back home in Europe and I always used their boilers. Works great, quite fast and perfect for 2-3 cups of coffee or tea. My wife loves it too!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Bodum 11451-565US 17-Ounce Electric Water Kettle, Green

Candle Warmers Etc. Signature Aurora Candle Warmer Lamp Review

Cutest candle warmer on the market. I bought them as Christmas presents last year. I got this tip from another reviewer and did an Amazon search for a cheaper replacement bulb when my mom's bulb burned out after over 1 year of daily use -GU10 120v 20w halogen light bulb. (They are 20w rather than the 25w that came with the candle warmer, but they have the same type base that fits into the warmer just fine.) Found a deal for a 6 pack of bulbs for about $6 plus shipping. I kept reading bad reviews about the bulbs not lasting. I've had no problems with my bulb, but now I have a cheaper solution when mine burns out.
The height from the base to the lamp is about 5 3/4" inches, so any candle near that height and under should fit fine. The lamp shade and light get really warm (of course), and the candle jar where the wax is melted will get also get really warm (shocker, right?), but the base stays cool to the touch.
Of note, the wax will liquefy, but it will not evaporate (like the wax tarts in a warmer), so with time the fragrance diminishes. When this happens, you'll have to dump out the liquefied wax. Just be careful where you pour it out. It can make a mess! If you do make a mess, I suggest letting it harden just a little bit and cleaning it while it's still warm. In my experience, that's when it's easiest to clean it off.
Overall, I recommend this as the fragrance quickly comes and it's stronger than if you light the wick. It's also more cost effective than wax tarts since you don't have to buy tea lights and wax tarts at $1 a pop. And also, no open flame!
Haven't had any problems fitting candles either.

I love this product however the bulb burned out and it is going to cost me $10-$15 to replace it because it says to use only the candlewarmers replacement bulb. I don't want to replace it every month. :(Best Deals on Candle Warmers Etc. Signature Aurora Candle Warmer Lamp
This light works wonderfully. You can smell the candle all over the living room without the smoke from a flame. I bought two and one of the light bulb went out quicker than I thought it should but the other one is still going strong.Honest reviews on Candle Warmers Etc. Signature Aurora Candle Warmer Lamp
This warmer has worked great for us since we've had it. It works on the smaller jar candles from Yankee Candle (14.5 oz), but it's perfect for the large jars (22oz). I can't speak for other candle brands since we only have Yankee Candle right now, so check before purchase. The height from the base to the lamp is about 5 3/4" inches, so any candle near that height and under should fit fine. Well, they definitely look better than the "under the candle" warmers. It also seems to get the smell out noticeably more due to the melting from the top. I'm not really sure if price is justified but it was a lot cheaper than quite a few of the others that I have found!Haven't had any problems fitting candles either.

Best Lasko 5307 Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heater, 16-Inch Deals

I've had mine about a week. Initial impressions so far are all very positive! This model is yet another 1500 watt ceramic heater and there is no shortage of them from several makers. Initially I set out to buy one of those fake portable fireplaces or wood-stoves with the visible fake fire inside. Reading all the specs and user reviews I could find on every one of those fireplaces and stoves it seems the maximum heat they put out is exactly the same as this far more compact and much less costly Lasko heater. About 1,500 watt power consumption and approximately 5,100 BTU heat output is the most you'll find in a portable room heater for home use. I settled on the ceramic type because of the rapid heating since I am only going to run it when I'm in the area where it is located. Ultimately since I only need an auxiliary heater a few months out of the year I decided that I really didn't want a fake fireplace or wood stove collecting dust the other 8 months of the year when I didn't actually need to use it. The Lasko is very compact stowing under the bed out of the way when not needed and is easily portable with a built in recess to use as a carry handle in the top back of the unit. I also read reviews about how the fans in some of the portable fireplaces/wood stoves were very noisy which next sent me looking for a very quiet ceramic heater. The word QUIET kept coming up in reviews of this Lasko heater and mine in fact makes hardly any sound at all! You do hear a low hum but that is all the sound mine has made so far and it does not interfere with TV or music enjoyment. The cable is 6 feet long.
I compared numerous brands of ceramic heaters with built in fans including Bionaire, Sunbeam, Honeywell and others. The Lasko warranty is 3 years which is the second longest warranty out there as the Bionaire has a 5 year warranty. The Lasko oscillates, it is very compact and is stylish looking more like a stereo speaker than a room heater. I also own a Lasko high velocity utility fan that continues to serve me well. Collectively those were the deciding factors in choosing the Lasko brand. Bionaire makes a good product as evidenced by their longer warranty, but their user reviews were not as strong regarding reliability on similarly priced Bionaire models.
The Lasko oscillation function was difficult to visualize before plugging it in, but how it works is that the entire unit except the small black base pivots silently left to right then right to left in a travel arc of about 45 degrees when you press the silver OSCILLATION bar on the control panel. Press the oscillation bar again and it stops moving immediately wherever it is at that moment. Now that I've used it the oscillation does actually seem to speed warming of the entire room and is a worthwhile feature I would definitely want again.
After looking for a space heater with a UL Seal I could not find one! I also looked for a heater made in the USA or at least North America and could not find one of those either. While made in China like the others and there is no UL seal, this one seems well made, sturdy and works perfectly. This heater is not easily knocked over, has an overheating safety shutdown, and is safe around pets or small children as it only gets warm to the touch. It has a red LED power light that is always on when the unit is plugged in whether turned on or not.
I would not hesitate recommending this Lasko portable ceramic room heater to a friend but encourage you to shop around as your needs might be different from mine. For example, an oil filler radiator type heater makes more sense if you plan to run it about all the time. If you need quick heat in a small to medium sized room for a few hours per day then a ceramic is probably better for your needs than the oil filled radiator type you run about all the time.
There are 4 settings on the operation switch which are OFF, Fan Only, 1 for Low Heat and 2 for High Heat. On high heat it consumes 1,500 watts, on low heat about 900 watts. The fan is always on when the heater is actually heating and cycles off when the thermostat turns off the heating element. The fan only has one speed but it is adequate enough to double as a small personal fan in hot weather making this unit more versatile than I expected when I bought it. The "fan only" feature may keep it out from under the bed in the summer but it won't replace the high velocity Lasko utility fan I own that moves a ton of air.
This unit's thermostat is easy to use. Once the room is at the temperature you like, slowly rotate the thermostat left until the unit cycles off and it will then cycle on and off to maintain a comfort level that is in the same ballpark.
I have turned down the thermostat on the main heat to 60 degrees and using this unit for the small area where I spend most of my awake time to make it more comfortable. Hopefully it will save money by not heating the entire place to 70 degrees. All on it's own it will heat up about 150 Sq Ft. to 70 degrees on high setting in 30 to 60 minutes, then cut it to low and it will maintain room comfort indefinitely. If you use a 15,000 BTU AC unit to cool an area, you can not reasonably expect one 5,100 BTU portable heater alone to heat the same area unaided, because you probably would need three of these units. When using in an area much larger than about 150 sq. ft. you may find you have to run it on high all the time to get much benefit. In order to get the maximum economy a space heater like this should be ran on high for about an hour at the most to warm up the room then reduced to low to maintain the temperature. If you find it is running on high all the time without warming the room enough so that you can turn it down or have the thermostat cycle off then you probably need to add a second or even a third one. The 150 Sq. Ft. rule seems to apply to all these 1,500 watt room heaters. This unit is not intended to heat an entire home, floor or even apartment unaided. Think of this as a whole-room heater, not a whole-house heater.
There is no remote control or digital thermostat control on this unit, but those features add a substantial amount to the price and I don't mind manually setting the thermostat. Other Lasko models are available with those extra features if you need them. I only use it when I'm up and around so I don't mind turning it on and off, changing the power setting or setting the thermostat manually. The last thing I need is yet another remote control to buy batteries for and lose in the sofa cushions.
So far as operational cost in concerned, it is easy to calculate based on your cost per kilowatt Hour for power. On high any 1500 watt heater like this one uses 1.5 KW per hour when actually heating. Here I pay 13.9 cents per KWH so it costs me about 21 cents per hour when heating on high setting in constant use. On low setting when heating it uses about 0.9 KW per hour so that costs me about 12.5 cents per hour of constant use. Your cost per KW Hour may be lower or higher so you'll have to do your own math. I run mine on low except for the first 30 minutes or so. If I ran it on high constantly heating for 24 hours it would cost me about $5, on low it would cost me about $3 for 24 hours of constant heating. I only run it about 8 hours per day and mostly that is on low, so the most it will cost is about 30 dollars per month, but that is not counting what I save by cutting down the thermostat on the whole house. The Lasko doesn't run continuously and it cycles on and off maybe running about 60% of the time on an average day here which is about 50 degrees outside for a high temperature and 30 for a low. It should save me some money over heating the entire house to 70 degrees, but I'm not sure exactly how much yet. I do know I am warm in this room and the main heat isn't running nearly as often or running quite as long when it does run.
I thought about the infrared cabinet heaters that have become so popular but didn't have the $175-$300 to pay for one at the time. I have to say, I am extremely impressed with not only the quality of this little heater (the size of a surround sound stereo speaker) but with the effectiveness at heating the room (approximately 400 sq. ft).
Very pleased... I think you will be too.

I have the "designer" version from this maker and wanted another for the bath downstairs so took a chance on this one. It is a different style but basically the same quality. Was not disapointed, it is just as well made and trouble free as the designer one and heats up my bath very nicely. Also it has a nice long electrical cord which makes it easy to place where you need it. I expect to use them both for years to come.Honest reviews on Lasko 5307 Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heater, 16-Inch
I live in a 40 foot, 1 bedroom trailer. I need a safe way to heat during the winter months. I have 3 tiny dogs and 2 cats inside. It worries me that they would knock papers off of the computer desk, catch fire, and burn the place down! At first I bought one heater and I love it! Very quiet, warms up quickly, no extremely hot surface to catch paper on fire! I liked the first so much I bought a second for the bathroom/bedroom end of the trailer. I can't tell you how awesome these heaters are! For the first time since I have lived here, I have quiet, consistent heat and the front end is as warm as the back end! When the temperature is right, I click the dial and it keeps the room that very temperature! Review of American Comfort R4 1500W 9000BTU Heater Air Purifier Adjustable
I just received the R4 yesterday. After carefully following directions on placement of unit, etc. this heater did no better than the $15 1500 BTU it replaced and it was only about a 1x1 foot unit. This was a total waste as it does not heat the 24x20 living room it was purchased for. The claims for this unit are largely embellished. Take it for what it's worth, folks.
It does a terrific job heating a room whether small, medium or large. I was impressed with the quality and ease of use. I would highly recommend this infrared heater to anyone. It will save us money during the cold nights not having to use the gas furnace. I look forward to being able to write more about it at a later date.

First off, let me say that I would really like this product if it didn't leak, but it leaked water on the ground from day 1. I tried a few different things to get it to stop leaking, but each time I put water in it, the water would end up on the ground beneath the unit. Ended up having to send it back for a refund.Tuesday, June 24, 2014
Buy Aroma AWK-160SB Pasta Plus Water Kettle and Noodle Cooker

List Price: $39.99

In my quest for a healthier lifestyle, I decided to add green tea to my daily liquid intake. I've never been a coffee or tea drinker so I perused Amazon to find an electric tea kettle for my work office.
I decided to try the Aroma AWK-160SB kettle/cooker for several reasons. First, I like that it's stainless steel and not plastic like so many other electric teapots. Second, the price seemed very reasonable for the item's quality, and third, the pasta option seemed really cool!
I got my kettle and took it to work, only to find that the on/off switch would kick to off immediately when I turned the temp up. So, to boil water I had to hold down the switch manually. Not good. I contacted Amazon about returning the item and was VERY VERY impressed with their return policy on faulty products. They RUSHED me a new one AND paid return postage on the bad one. In this day of awful customer service being the norm for so many companies, I was thrilled about how well Amazon treated me.
When I got the new one, I was happy to find that it worked just fine. It is SO versatile. I've cooked both pasta and oatmeal in it, and also make my daily green tea. It comes to a boil very quickly and it's very easy to turn down the dial and stabilize the water temp at just under a rolling boil for pasta.
My only complaint is that the cord that comes out of the base is really short, but worse is that it's stiff and twisted (from being wrapped around the base) and when you don't have the pot on the base, the cord can and will whip the base around like what happens to a person at the end of the line in 'crack the whip'.
I would think this item would be handy for an office, a dorm room or a single person's kitchen. All in all, I'm quite impressed with its features and its cost/quality value.
The Good:
The pot is extreamly well built and boils water for cooking pasta and soups much quicker than on the stove. The pasta cooking feature works great for 2 cups (dry) of wide egg noodles, as well as Ramen Noodle soups.
It also works great for simply boiling water for tea or any other use, and the automatic shutoff feature is great as well..
The Bad:
Because the electronics are in the pot itself, and not the base, and the manual warns of getting those components wet, the pot is more difficult to clean than it should be. The pot is also not teflon lined, so I would not be inclined to cook cream based soups or other things that might stick.. I also have to agree with another reviewer here about the power cord.. It's very stiff and unyielding, much more so than necessary in this day and age. When the pot is off the base its basically "the tail wagging the dog". The cord is also hard to store in the base as well.
The Bottom Line.
If you can live with the bad which isn't really hard to do, it's a great little appliance and has found a favored spot in my kitchen..
To clean it, I soak it in a vinegar solution overnight, and then it's easy. I have well water with lots of minerals, so that takes care of the mineral buildup at the same time. I'd never get one that didn't have a wide opening as it would be horrible to clean! The simple shape and wide opening means you can get right in there with a scrubbie.
I also love that there's no plastic in contact with the water. I had a plastic one, and one day it shocked me when I placed my finger in the water (the metal heating element didn't interface well with the plastic container), and the plastic got horribly discolored with iron and tomato sauce.
But, after using the Aroma for four months, I started to smell plastic burning inside the unit. It seemed that it had an electrical issue, and that could cause a fire! Which, after being through a fire and being told by the fire marshal that small appliances are a major cause of house fires, freaked me out! I hope I just got a defective one. I liked its functionality so much I might try another...it's so versatile and the stainless steel is high quality and thick.
It is sloppy to pour, and clumsy to fill (you have to remove the top, which is locked on or is it off? hard to tell by 2 little press tabs). The top always has a large puddle of condensation ready to drip out. It is hard to read the Max and Min labels. Also, I have twice scalded my thumb because of the gap between the handle and the top. Plus, I really cannot imagine someone using both the teakettle and the pasta cooker maybe my son at college, except he wouldn't trust the plastic drainer. Others are keen on the lack of plastic, but the top is plastic and the pasta strainer is cheap plastic.
I think the scalding concern should make this a good candidate for recall.
Aroma could have made this quite elegant and useful, but instead it is simply klutzy and unsafe.

I use this as a water kettle only currently, and I really like it so far. I've looked for a long time for an electric kettle that allows the water not to contact any plastic, and this kettle has this exact feature -the interior is completely metal although the lid is plastic, but you don't have to use the lid if you don't want to. I also like the way the heating element is completely sealed and that the kettle detaches from the base (the cordless feature). This kettle's construction appear to be very good quality, and it has a 1-year warranty. Its water kettle function works great -it boils 1 liter of cold water in about 5 minutes. It being a noodle cooker/ soup warmer is a cool feature that I might use one day. This item also comes with a collander and a cute little metal pasta fork to aid you with cooking noodles. I'm very glad I found this kettle.Best Deals on Aroma AWK-160SB Pasta Plus Water Kettle and Noodle Cooker
I've only had this item for 3 weeks now and primarily purchased it for cooking 2 portions of pasta and Ramen noodle soups quickly.. I've used it about 15 times so far and here are the results..The Good:
Honest reviews on Aroma AWK-160SB Pasta Plus Water Kettle and Noodle Cooker
I bought this item to boil water and cook food without a range after my house burned down. It boils water pretty fast and is great for drip coffee or espresso. You can also throw the tea bags right in it for tea. I cooked pasta in it, and although the cleanup isn't fun and you have to be careful about the water level so it doesn't boil over, that works too. For a single serving, it's so much faster than a stove as well. I also used it for instant oatmeal and to heat soup. You can eat right out of it if you want.To clean it, I soak it in a vinegar solution overnight, and then it's easy.

I've used electric teakettles for about 25 years. This one promises to last a long time the heating element is self-contained, the pot itself has no holes in it, and thus no gaskets to leak. However, it was designed by someone who never uses an electric teakettle. It is sloppy to pour, and clumsy to fill (you have to remove the top, which is locked on or is it off? hard to tell by 2 little press tabs). This is a great oscillating electric heater. Heated up my office quickly, has all the basic settings (e.g. you can set an automatic minimum temp), and isn't too loud. The 1st one I got had no remote. Sent it back for a new one and still no remote. Sent that one back for a full refund. The fan itself seemed to work ok. Didn't get a chance to use it for long. Also wish it was taller. Had to put it on a table.Monday, June 2, 2014

I purchased the Dimplex DF3015 firebox to fit in a fake mantelpiece that I had up against a bedroom wall. The firebox measurements on the Dimplex literature were very accurate and I was able to easily modify my mantle's opening and its distance to the wall in order to accommodate the firebox. I purchased the unit here on Amazon and the vendor was Wayfair. A salesperson from Wayfair called to state that I would have to remove the unit from the tractor trailer myself and that I should have help on that date. Fortunately, when the truck arrived, the driver stated that this was not true and he brought the item to, just inside my front door, as opposed to curbside, so that was a pleasant surprise.
As far as the unit itself, I did notice a growling noise after about one week when the flame speed was set to very high or very low. The flame speed adjustment on the remote has 9 settings and the noise occurred on setting 1 and setting 9. I removed the front glass and the log set and found that the noise was coming from the area of the flicker motor and flicker rod. I called Dimplex and they sent me a new flicker motor. Interestingly, the new motor came with a rubber piece to connect between the motor and flicker rod. On the one I had from the factory, the flicker rod shaft is connected to the motor with a flexible metal spring. On the replacement parts, they instruct you to cut most of this spring off and to use the rubber piece to connect the motor to the flicker rod. I believe that they are using this rubber piece to insulate and prevent vibrations from the motor from traveling up the flicker rod and vibrating it as an assembly inside the firebox.
Regardless, I changed the motor and the rod and added in the new rubber piece. Dimplex claims you can cut the 5 wires to the flicker motor and splice in the new motor with electrical quick connectors that come in the replacement kit. This seems to be a Mickey Mouse way of replacing a part in a brand new 899.00 firebox. As a result, I went a step further and removed the back glass inside the firebox (its a tight fit) and was able to find the control board that the harness plugs into. (A complete .pdf service manual is available on the Dimplex web site). Then I was able to just 'plug in' the new motor (the replacement motor does come with a complete harness with plug if you don't want to cut the wires and splice it in).
With that done I would say that the problem was 95% resolved. On speed 9 there is, not a growl, but sort of a slight clicking sound now with the new parts installed but it was not enough to be concerned and I like the look of the flame on the lower speeds anyway.
The heater is claimed to be a 1500 Watt type but that is sort of a misnomer. With a Watt Meter I was able to see that the heater operates on a low and high mode depending on what the thermostat reports (the thermostat is actually in the remote control so watch were you place that so you do not get false readings). When the unit calls for low heat a 600 Watt heater is activated and a low speed fan. When the unit calls for high heat the units supplies 1200 Watts and a high speed fan. The fan is fairly quiet on both settings which is a plus for bedrooms. The unit does draw about 200 Watts when the flame effect is on and no heat is desired so at full heat the entire units draws about 1400 Watts (1200 of which is heater element output). A dedicated 15 AMP circuit is ideal but may not be necessary as the unit draws about 12 AMPS at full power.
The remote control shows a digital display of actual room temperature (sensed in the bottom vent hole of the remote) and it shows the desired temperature you want the room to be. If desired temperature is 1 or 2 degrees higher than actual room temperature, the low temp heater and low speed fan will activate. If desired temperature is 3 or more degrees higher than actual room temperature than the high temp heater and high speed fan will activate. Once the desired temperature is reached the heater and fan will stop but the flame effect stays on until the power to the unit is shut off.
The flame appears very realistic and you almost think that it is a real fire. If you want the fire without the heater operating you simply dial down the temperature on the remote to a lower temperature than the room you are and it the heat will stay off but the flame effect will be on. This model also has Purefire which is simply an air filter that the air is drawn through anytime the fan is on. To filter the air you can have the fan on low or high without the heater by simply activating the Purefire button on the remote. Actually, the Purefire uses the same low/high speed fan that is used when the heat is activated. So anytime the fan is on (via heat or Purefire) the air is always drawn through the special filter. Another words, whenever the fan is on the air in the room is being filtered.
There is also a button on the remote that will activate a dimmer for the fire box's inside top back lights. This can add to the effect of the fire and make the firebox look somewhat deeper. The remote has a sleep timer setting which will shut the entire unit off. This is selected from 30 min to 8 hours and at any 30 min interval between.
For safety the main power switch can be shut off (if you don't mind bending down all the time as it is on the very bottom right front of the fireplace). I mention this because at first I was not bothering to shut this main power switch, I was just shutting the unit off with the remote power button. Then I discovered that my cats were walking on the remote and turning the fireplace on at times. As a workaround, I had an electrician make the outlet I use (behind the firebox) a 'switched outlet' so I simply shut the wall switch now when the unit is not going to be used.We purchased this Dimplex firebox and the oak mantel individually. We didn't like the cheaper firebox that Dimplex had switched to. The DF3015 is very attractive, although I have seen more realistic looking flames. Don't buy it for the heat. There isn't much there. Shipping from Wayfair was very fast, and when I had a small problem with the trucking company, Wayfair customer service took care of it right away. I would have given it 5 stars if it didn't seem overpriced.

Danby 13000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner Reviews
I am so disappointed with this unit. Before I used it I borrowed my friends 4 year old Danby. Hers came
With two hoses. Hers worked great. I called Danby and asked why this one came with only one hose and they said they figured out how to make the same results with only one hose.
Anyway, I ordered it. It seems to have one major problem. I can't get it really cool. I put it on and hours later the room temperature is still the same. I put it on the lowest setting and it was cold next to the a/c but it did not project into the room. The only way I could get some coolness in the room was by putting a fan right in front of it to blow the cold air around the room.
I am trying to cool a big space but Danby said it can cool up to 500 ft.
I live in Southern California about 5 miles from the ocean and the hottest it ever gets here is mid 80's so I'm not talking about very high heat or humidity. The a/c should be able to cool under those circumstances.
This unit also comes with heat. Maybe the heat will work better than the A/C. It never goes below 48 in the winter and most nights it's in the 50's so maybe it will be able to handle that.
This product is described as a portable. It runs on wheels and is easy to move on hardwood floors.
Where I have issues is in the window kits. I am happy that the kit fits both a patio door and a regular window. However, the panels are solid hard plastic with hard rounded edges-this means there is no seal of any kind against the patio door / window / frame and instead, a lot of gaps. (I had a portable AC 15 years ago that had soft edges to grip around windows).
As the kit uses plastic pieces that are of different widths (so that one slides into the other to create an expandable surface-think of a vacuum cleaner pipe that extends in sections) this means there are pretty big gaps around the edges of the narrower middle panel as well.
When running the unit as provided, I could feel air flow through all those gaps -a waste of energy because it means I am air conditioning the outdoors.
For now, I have put a lot of weatherstripping on the edges to fill the gaps... unfortunately, if I go from patio door to bedroom window, the weatherstripping is in the way if I want to adjust the panels.
The unit also uses a drain pipe or internal tank. The drain pipe is great... but where are you supposed to drain to? I drilled a hole through one of the window panels so I could run the pipe out onto the patio (this won't work for a bedroom window as it would be higher than the drain outlet on the AC unit). For the internal tank, there is a rubber stopper to keep it sealed (if you are not using the drain pipe). Unfortunately, there is no place to put this rubber stopper if you are using the drain pipe temporarily and want to switch back to the rubber stopper when you move the unit. For now, I have put it in a baggie and taped it to the back of the unit.
I have also noticed that the unit forgets its settings if you unplug it. It goes back to Fahrenheit and forgets the temperature setting.
So while it's billed as portable, the awkward window kit and forgetting settings every time it's moved make it a bit of a pain.
It's noisy but I expected that based on past experience with portable AC. It has a remote which is handy... the remote is a very basic, all-grey, thing and the battery compartment is screwed shut.
I'm not sure the AC unit is all that powerful regardless of how many BTU it's rated for. I think my old portable had much icier air coming out of it and I wish I'd kept it (I lived in a house with central air for a few years)-of course it's price tag was way more expensive.
All that being said, it's cheap for what it is and it's making my life tolerable during a long, hot, humid summer where I have to work at home.

Overall pleased. I wish it was more programmable. I would like to tell it to turn on at 3:00 everyday and turn off at 9:00, but can't. Would have given 5 stars if it were more programmable. Produces lots of condensation drainage 10 gals per day. Rated for only a 500 sq ft room, but cools my 900 sq ft basement just fine although it runs near constantly. Purchased open box for $249. Thought I got a good deal for that price.Best Deals on Danby 13000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner

Reviews of Pleasant Hearth 23-Inch Pearson Heritage Media Electric Fireplace
It is very pleasant hearth indeed, it is a very nice dark cherry solid wood, not particle board which makes it nice. it is the size of a bedroom dresser and the fireplace is a very nice touch to create the mood or just to keep warm.

Cheap Capresso 259 H2O Plus Glass Water Kettle, Polished Chrome

I ordered this kettle specifically to avoid heating up water in plastic. However, this kettle emitted a foul chemical odor that also transferred to the water. I boiled it a few times plus tried the water/vinegar suggestion in the brochure but nothing seemed to help. I decided that I didn't want to take the risk of drinking these unknown chemicals so I'm returning it it's not worth the risk. I can't figure out if it's coming from the "stainless steel" bulb (that feels like plastic to me if you tap on it) that covers the heating element or the plastic seal between the glass & the bulb. Plus the lid has a stong odor too & that is plastic covered in "stainless steel".
I always use filtered water for cooking and drinking because I am quite sensative to tastes and odors in my water. The filtered water I put in this kettle tasted FINE, but after the boiling routine was complete, the water smelled and tasted like a swimming pool. I took a sip of tea I made from this kettle and spit it across the room (a la Kramer)! The most foul chemical smell and taste I have ever known. I cannot believe that anyone else using this kettle, or in fact the manufacturer, would not notice it. I washed the kettle with soap and emptied it after each use, but even after a week, the same foul contamination was occuring as a result of heating the water in this kettle. If I left a small amount of water in the kettle for even an hour, I could watch a thick chemical buildup forming on the chrome heating dome that I could wipe off with my finger, like a BAD science project.
I don't know what is wrong with this thing, but it is truly scary. I am warning all consumers to stay away from this chemical hazzard producer and find another way to heat your water!
Note: If you want to better understand the problem, walk into any Bed Bath & Beyond or Linens & Things store and sniff the inside of the carafe they have on display. There is clearly something wrong with the materials used in the manufacturing of this item. It CAN'T be safe.

I had mine for about 8 months and then the handle fell off while I was pouring a full kettle of boiling water into a teapot. I was lucky not to be badly burned. The handle is held to the lid with two small screws that are screwed into plastic. It looks cool, and maybe mine was somehow defective, but watch out (especially if you have small kids who might be in the way of the boiling flood).Best Deals on Capresso 259 H2O Plus Glass Water Kettle, Polished Chrome
My biggest rave is the Amazon.com customer service. I fell in love with the look of this kettle and found the best price on Amazon.com (with free shipping!) When it arrived, it only worked if the kettle was oriented one way on the base -when it boiled, the water dribbled on the cord. Called Capresso Cust Svc -1st person said, it's supposed to do that. After another week, it got worse. Capresso would replace it if I paid it's shipping back to them. Called Amazon.com, got another in the mail days later, post-paid shipping back the first one to them. Wow! This kettle works just fine. Very rapid boiling of water, no complaints about anything. To keep the glass and that silver dome shiny, you do need to do the vinegar thing every now and again. Couldn't be happier.Honest reviews on Capresso 259 H2O Plus Glass Water Kettle, Polished Chrome
I bought this kettle because I loved the glass carafe and that I could see the contents of the kettle and I really liked the overall design. But I was completely disgusted with the results!I always use filtered water for cooking and drinking because I am quite sensative to tastes and odors in my water.

Have had this for a month now and it works great. Heats fast, the level lines are nice ( not hard to see for me ), no dripping problems. But the silcone gasket around the heating element is still imparting a bit of an off taste and releases a plasticky smell. It's gotten a bit better but I still don't like it. The 'chrome' appears to be chromed plastic, didn't see that mentioned in description or reviews.Monday, October 28, 2013

I recently remodeled our master bath and needed a heater. After considering 6 units I settled on this one. Installation was very easy (except for getting a 220V wire there). This is really nice unit. It's small, attractive and the LCD panel is well thought-out. You can see the room temp at all times and the controls are logical. Hooked up to 220V it's surprisingly powerful. It heats this small bathroom in minutes. It was a good choice for me.
Since writing the above paragraph I've had two F8 error codes, indicating a fault in the control. Both cleared and it has not had another in several weeks. One more and I'm asking for a replacement unit. Still, it was the best heater for my bathroom in many ways.

It was pretty easy to install and looks good. It runs all the time so it is definately not energy efficiant. It will run at a cooler temp for longer to maintain temps. It is also very easy for my toddler to mess with.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Com-Pak Energy Plus Electric Wall Heater
