This product is just what I was looking for and more. The speaker is very clear and high quality. The light changing is very nice in a dimmly lit room. The aromatherapy diffuser heats up fast and produces the scent in the room. I use this product in a medium size room. I know that the diffuser would not have a strong affect in a large room. Unless you would have more than one diffuser. I highly rate this product. I am very happy with this product. I am looking to purchase another.

This item is great! Looking at the features, it has a speaker you can connect with your ipod while the light changes etc. It's good for a bedroom or an office but it won't do the job for a big space. You're better off buying the ceramic oil diffusers that uses the tealights. I have a couple of those at home.

I use my rosemary essential oil with this diffuser and my room smells heavenly. It helps alleviate sinus congestion and put me to sleep. It is so relaxing. This diffuser by far is IMHO efficient and budget friendly. It has a two hour timer that automatically shuts off to prevent accidents etc. The mood light can still work as an aesthetic therapy. It's great when used at night. I've looked for other diffusers on Amazon.com but so far this one has met my expectations and my budget. Very nice buy.

The company sent the humidifier very quickly and in good condition. It is a funny looking thing. Reminds me of a red spaceship. It will get noticed in your home by friends. It's so different looking then the standard humidifier.

This works like a teakettle blowing a medium or low amount of steam depending on the setting you choose. It is very quiet. During the day with TV volume and conversation you can't hear anything. At night when it's quit you can hear the water boiling but it is not loud enough to be annoying. Best there are no extra filters needed and all it takes is a weekly cleaning to remove the lime buildup.

The unit itself stays cool to the touch during use but the flow of steam is hot right where it comes out so you will need to use caution with very young children. This unit stands very securely; I feel it would take a pretty hard hit to knock it over. Also the water is in a separate container inside.

The instructions do not say the area this humidifier humidifies nor the amount of time it takes to empty the water tank. On low my empties in about 8-10 hours. The electricity used is 200w for low and 300w for high setting. The low setting works well for me. It has auto shut off when the water runs out.

I have this product for about three weeks. It is very easy to add water to. It is also easy to do the weekly cleaning. It does not leak or leave any kind of water stains during use.

One problem with the unit is that it is made out of plastic. The nozzle through which the steam comes out of is plastic painted with silver paint. The paint started to bubble near the top inner part of the nozzle on my humidifier. If the bubbles break it will not look so great. That is why I'm giving this product 4 stars instead of five.

There are almost no reviews on the web about this product. I believe it sells in red, silver, black and a lime color. If you like the unique shape don't be afraid to give it a try.

'Fred' is one of the coolest humidifiers on the market. With it's space-age look, this is not your typical household appliance that you want to hide. Worth the extra money. I prefer warm mist humidifiers because they don't create the white film that the ultrasonic humidifiers leave behind. Unfortunately, my 'Fred' came with a broken leg due to poor packaging by Amazon (tsk-tsk), so I had to return him. (I'm pretty sure it's a 'he.') Love the fact 'he' comes in so many awesome colors too!

I purchased this item a couple of years ago and thought it was great. I was refilling it recently when I found that the top was stuck to the base, upon inspection I could see that both sections had warped, evidently due to excessive heat. Considering I ran the humidifier all winter long and filled it two to three times a day I knew this had happened very suddenly, it had been working perfectly and came apart easily a few hours previously. I believe this could have created a fire hazard had I not discovered it in a timely manner. I sent an email to Stadler Form (the manufacturer) telling them what had happened but heard nothing back from them, apparently they are not interested in complaints. I won't be buying another.

I LOVE the Soft Heat electric blanket we bought on Amazon, so I thought a heated furniture cover would be perfect for those cold winter nights. What I got in the mail is a way too small furniture cover sold with a hard uncomfortable way too small heating pad. The back is too short and falls forward. The arms are to short so my dog can still drool on the couch . The cord of the pad is to short to reach the wall and my outlet is right behind the sofa. The heating pad is only about 12" wide and hard a rock. So can only keep one dog or person warm. The pad is so hard even my dog wouldn't lay on it.

I bought this item because I thought it would be long enough on the back so it wouldn't slide off. It slides off constantly and even with tucking I have to rearrange it when ever I sit down. I have a leather sofa and I'm sure that significantly contributes to the problem. I kept it for too long thinking I could add bungy cords or elastic to hold the back in place. Alas I haven't gotten to it and have passed the return date. I know the problem wouldn't be as bad with fabric sofas but even so, the drape is still loose and will shift with repeated movement I have seen some that actually have elastic to hold them. I never used the heated feature which can be removed so I can't comment. I think the best option would be using a slip cover for about the same purchase price. Overall it is well constructed and better than most I've seen on the market.

It's okay. Nothing special. It covers the couch doesn't stay on great maybe because I don't have a traditional 3 seat couch. Less dog hair on the couch is a good thing though

Best SEI Claremont Media Console with Electric Fireplace Deals

Just finished putting it together and giving her a test run. Good to great quality. Looks great, easy assembly. They say "glass remains cool to the touch" which is 100% accurate and why we purchased for our living room thinking we wouldn't have to worry about our 14 month old burning himself. HOWEVER, what they don't tell you (until you get it and see the big warning sticker) is that the grid directly above the glass and exposed to everyone gets VERY VERY HOT. NOT good for kids or even animals. That being said, we really like it and still think it is a great value.

This was my 1st time ordering thru Amazon and my experience was rewarding. I was a little worried about ordering something on line without actually seeing it, pictures don't always give the proper representation of the product that is displayed. With that said, I am very pleased with the Electric fireplace that I recieved, it came in two boxes (one being the wooden console and the other the fireplace insert)and the UPS agent brought right into the house for me.

Now a couple of hints that will make the assembly easier: When you open the box, have a vacumm cleaner near by to remove the styrofoam from the items, due to static, the styrofoam is difficult to remove from the wood, but the vacumm will make cleanup easier as you remove from the packing. Inventory your parts and check off the paper as you locate them and then spread them out for easy recognition. Before you start assembling, spread a blanket on the floor to eliminate potential scratching, then follow the step by step instructions and take your time. Took approx 2.5 hours to assemble, this included removing stickers after the items were assembled (leave stickers on until assembled), the cam locks require a #2 phillips screwdriver, but I suggest using a #2 flat screwdriver to get the cams tight, then go back with the phillips to break the edges of the slots, this will allow the cover caps to be inserted into the cam. I utilized the corner shelf on the back of the console, so it would fit in the corner of the room and it is mounted on hinges, so if you want to eventually put it on a wall the shelf will just fold down.

The heater insert comes with a remote control that allows you to adjust the lights in the logs and also adjust the intensity of the flames. The remote will also turn the heat on / off as you need, there is a temperture switch located in a hidden panel that will allow you to set the heat and will shut off automatically once the temperture is reached. Very pleased with the realistic look of the logs / flame and also the adjustable shelfs that are located on each side of the console behind glass doors.

Downside: The media shelf is only 13" deep, did not allow my cable box to fully sit on the shelf without overhanging in the front, but by eliminating the back plate on the console, this was easily rectified.

Overall for the money, this was a great addition to my living room and the 55"flat screen looks great sitting on top.

This corner unit fireplace takes some time to put together. I would say at least 1 hour. The firebox had an issue when first plugged in, the heater blower sounded like a sneaker in dryer (clunk, clunk). We took off the back panel and discovered that through shipping a metal plate had fallen onto a rotating piece. We pushed it back into place and the unit is working just fine. It looks real nice holding a flat screen tv and the cable components and dvd player fit perfectly. Yes, I would recommend it.

Honest reviews on SEI Claremont Media Console with Electric Fireplace

This is a nicely designed console. It fits perfectly in the corner where I installed it and it looks good. But there are some

negative issues as well. The console arrives complely unassembled. Mine arrived with some damage. I contaced customer service and they were helpful but I decided to repair the damage myself rather than to pack it all up again and return it.

Assembly is not all that easy. A number of the pre-drilled holes were way to small to hand screw into unless you are a professional body builder. So I had to re-drill many of the screw holes. The assembly instructions are pretty good but the print is very small and difficult to read.

The burner unit arrives seperately. The manual specifies / suggests a dedicated electrical circuit, so for safety's sake I installed a new circuit. I already had a proper breaker, room in my panel, wire and outlet box. so it didn't cost me anything but time. If you can't do this yourself it might add a couple hunderd dollars to your costs to hire an electrician and to buy the necessary components.

I'm fairly handy and this not my first rodeo but it took me about 5 hours to complete this project. One more thing, the packing material flaked apart and made a big mess that was unavoidable no matter how carefull I was to not make a mess.

In spite of the experience being an overall P.I.T.A. the end result is a nice looking and relatively inexpensive corner electric fireplace / tv stand.

I love the fireplace but did have a problem with the remote. I called the company that made it (southern enterprises)

They would not even discuss it with me. They told me they were sorry they could not help (all they said) amazon

was wonderful they tried everything to help even calling southern enterprises to try to find a solution. Amazon was told the same thing. My advice don't buy anything this company makes. Amazon was great. I will buy from them again.

In my quest for a healthier lifestyle, I decided to add green tea to my daily liquid intake. I've never been a coffee or tea drinker so I perused Amazon to find an electric tea kettle for my work office.

I decided to try the Aroma AWK-160SB kettle/cooker for several reasons. First, I like that it's stainless steel and not plastic like so many other electric teapots. Second, the price seemed very reasonable for the item's quality, and third, the pasta option seemed really cool!

I got my kettle and took it to work, only to find that the on/off switch would kick to off immediately when I turned the temp up. So, to boil water I had to hold down the switch manually. Not good. I contacted Amazon about returning the item and was VERY VERY impressed with their return policy on faulty products. They RUSHED me a new one AND paid return postage on the bad one. In this day of awful customer service being the norm for so many companies, I was thrilled about how well Amazon treated me.

When I got the new one, I was happy to find that it worked just fine. It is SO versatile. I've cooked both pasta and oatmeal in it, and also make my daily green tea. It comes to a boil very quickly and it's very easy to turn down the dial and stabilize the water temp at just under a rolling boil for pasta.

My only complaint is that the cord that comes out of the base is really short, but worse is that it's stiff and twisted (from being wrapped around the base) and when you don't have the pot on the base, the cord can and will whip the base around like what happens to a person at the end of the line in 'crack the whip'.

I would think this item would be handy for an office, a dorm room or a single person's kitchen. All in all, I'm quite impressed with its features and its cost/quality value.

I use this as a water kettle only currently, and I really like it so far. I've looked for a long time for an electric kettle that allows the water not to contact any plastic, and this kettle has this exact feature -the interior is completely metal although the lid is plastic, but you don't have to use the lid if you don't want to. I also like the way the heating element is completely sealed and that the kettle detaches from the base (the cordless feature). This kettle's construction appear to be very good quality, and it has a 1-year warranty. Its water kettle function works great -it boils 1 liter of cold water in about 5 minutes. It being a noodle cooker/ soup warmer is a cool feature that I might use one day. This item also comes with a collander and a cute little metal pasta fork to aid you with cooking noodles. I'm very glad I found this kettle.

I've only had this item for 3 weeks now and primarily purchased it for cooking 2 portions of pasta and Ramen noodle soups quickly.. I've used it about 15 times so far and here are the results..

The Good:

The pot is extreamly well built and boils water for cooking pasta and soups much quicker than on the stove. The pasta cooking feature works great for 2 cups (dry) of wide egg noodles, as well as Ramen Noodle soups.

It also works great for simply boiling water for tea or any other use, and the automatic shutoff feature is great as well..

The Bad:

Because the electronics are in the pot itself, and not the base, and the manual warns of getting those components wet, the pot is more difficult to clean than it should be. The pot is also not teflon lined, so I would not be inclined to cook cream based soups or other things that might stick.. I also have to agree with another reviewer here about the power cord.. It's very stiff and unyielding, much more so than necessary in this day and age. When the pot is off the base its basically "the tail wagging the dog". The cord is also hard to store in the base as well.

The Bottom Line.

If you can live with the bad which isn't really hard to do, it's a great little appliance and has found a favored spot in my kitchen..

Honest reviews on Aroma AWK-160SB Pasta Plus Water Kettle and Noodle Cooker

I bought this item to boil water and cook food without a range after my house burned down. It boils water pretty fast and is great for drip coffee or espresso. You can also throw the tea bags right in it for tea. I cooked pasta in it, and although the cleanup isn't fun and you have to be careful about the water level so it doesn't boil over, that works too. For a single serving, it's so much faster than a stove as well. I also used it for instant oatmeal and to heat soup. You can eat right out of it if you want.

To clean it, I soak it in a vinegar solution overnight, and then it's easy. I have well water with lots of minerals, so that takes care of the mineral buildup at the same time. I'd never get one that didn't have a wide opening as it would be horrible to clean! The simple shape and wide opening means you can get right in there with a scrubbie.

I also love that there's no plastic in contact with the water. I had a plastic one, and one day it shocked me when I placed my finger in the water (the metal heating element didn't interface well with the plastic container), and the plastic got horribly discolored with iron and tomato sauce.

But, after using the Aroma for four months, I started to smell plastic burning inside the unit. It seemed that it had an electrical issue, and that could cause a fire! Which, after being through a fire and being told by the fire marshal that small appliances are a major cause of house fires, freaked me out! I hope I just got a defective one. I liked its functionality so much I might try another...it's so versatile and the stainless steel is high quality and thick.

I've used electric teakettles for about 25 years. This one promises to last a long time the heating element is self-contained, the pot itself has no holes in it, and thus no gaskets to leak. However, it was designed by someone who never uses an electric teakettle.

It is sloppy to pour, and clumsy to fill (you have to remove the top, which is locked on or is it off? hard to tell by 2 little press tabs). The top always has a large puddle of condensation ready to drip out. It is hard to read the Max and Min labels. Also, I have twice scalded my thumb because of the gap between the handle and the top. Plus, I really cannot imagine someone using both the teakettle and the pasta cooker maybe my son at college, except he wouldn't trust the plastic drainer. Others are keen on the lack of plastic, but the top is plastic and the pasta strainer is cheap plastic.

I think the scalding concern should make this a good candidate for recall.

Aroma could have made this quite elegant and useful, but instead it is simply klutzy and unsafe.

This heater was purchased to replace a ProCom blue flame heater for a very small bathroom in an off-grid cabin. The previous heater did a great job for several years, and when it needed replacement parts, we decided to try the more efficient and safer version. It heats instantly and thoroughly in the 10/10 foot room. The low O2 safety switch works. We plugged the gap under the door, and after about twenty minutes it clicked off on it's own, which is an important factor for me. My only negative comment is that I miss the therostatic control we had on the other one. If that is important to you, I think the next model up has one.

This little heater does a good job of heating our newly renovated bathroom with 12ft.ceiling.. I am very pleased with this heater. It has one or two quirks that I didn't expect (hence the 4.5 stars), but it puts out a terrific amount of heat, looks great and was a real bargain Amazon is the best.

What I didn't expect:

* It's much larger than I expected. My impression based on the pictures I could find was that it was much smaller, but be prepared for a sizeable heater;

* Contrary to the description, it doesn't have a digital temperature readout. I was a little annoyed at first, but then most temperature gauges don't work well anyway, and I heat the room to feel comfortable and not to a specific temperature, so this doesn't matter much to me now;

* The thermostat works differently than I expected. The unit puts out a constant amount of heat, regardless of the setting, but the higher thermostat settings make the unit run until the room is hotter before it shuts off, which works fine;

* I run my heater on a 40 lb. propane bottle. If you plan to run on a bottle, be prepared to buy a pressure regulator, hose and some fittings. Oddly, I couldn't find the right combination from Mr. Heater, but did buy the Red Dragon kit on Amazon, which works well. The only other fitting I needed was an adapter from 3/8" NPT to 3/8" flare, which was only $3 at the local hardware store;

* I read reviews elsewhere that the internal fan is quiet. I like the fact that it has the fan, but find it a bit noisy to my taste. Since I have a vaulted ceiling and ceiling fans, I will rarely use the internal fan. It seems to work fine without it and runs almost silently, which is very nice.

Overall, a real deal in my opinion that suits my needs almost perfectly.

August 2011 Update: A few more observations after using the heater for a while:

* we can smell the byproducts of combustion in the room when we use this heater. This is not surprising since the combustion gases are vented into the room. As a result, we use it sparingly (usually just to warm the room) since the smell can be unpleasant, and undoubtedly isn't good for your health if used extensively;

* burning propane relases a fair bit of water vapour into the room, so we get condensation on the windows. Again, this is not a surprise;

* this heater is certified by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA), which is one of the reasons I bought it. However, the CSA approval is only for use in the USA; these types of unvented heaters are not approved for use in Canada;

* I did some reading online about unvented heaters (sadly after I bought this unit). Anyone interested in buying unvented heaters would do well to read up about the pros and cons before buying.

Ordered the heater back in May of 2012. A licensed plumber (certified in propane) installed the 16 feet of propane line. My jaw dropped when I got his bill: $400.05 -did he really need to include that nickel? The heater cost me $179.95 and I see that it is now going for $239.95. You might want to purchase it off season.

I hooked up the heater to a 15 gallon propane tank and connected the line to the tank using a Mr. Heater 5-Feet Propane Hose/Regulator Assembly. It says right on the regulator, "LOW PRESSURE." ***BE SURE YOUR REGULATOR CAN DELIVER LOW PRESSURE (i.e., it may be a hose rated for high pressure that you can turn down, but you need to run low pressure into the heater or it can damage it. I didn't want to take that chance of any faulty guesswork, so I purchased the hose that had the words "LOW PRESSURE" stamped right on the regulator).

11/07/2012 -EDIT: I wish I had seen this before I bought the other hose hookup. I would have purchased it: Red Dragon SL-1C Low Pressure Propane Hook Up Kit With 10-Foot Hose. Just copy and paste it into the search bar and see what you think.

The instructions tell you to put the control knob on "Pilot" and then press it down (push on it straight down, toward the floor) and hold it for 30 seconds if this is the first time you're using it. Boy, were they ever wrong. First of all, it depends on how long your line is from the tank. My 16 foot run took about 3 minutes to get gas to the pilot light! So, be patient and don't do what I did -wasted some of my AA battery by clicking the igniter constantly for about 30 seconds before I realized what was happening. Just keep holding that big knob down in the Pilot position and then try the igniter every 15 seconds or so until it flames. Once that flame starts, they say to continue depressing the knob for another 30 seconds. Well, that's a bunch of bull crap. You can take your hand off after 6 seconds. Count 'em. The flame will not blow out the pilot once 6 seconds have ticked by.

Our house is 1,727 sq ft. We keep all three bedroom doors, the guest bathroom door and the laundry room door, closed. I'm guessing we're heating around 1,100 sq ft with the heater.

Here are some statistics you might find interesting...

A gallon of propane weighs approximately 4.2 lbs.

A gallon of propane has a burn rate of approximately 100,000 BTUs (British Thermal Units) per hour. This means that if you run your heater continuously (30,000 BTUs) you will be consuming propane at a rate of about 1/3 gallon per hour. At 33,000 BTUs, your heater would be right at the1 gallon per hour approximation. I am guessing that my 15 gallon propane tank could therefore run for about 50 hours (because I'm only burning 30K and not 33K). The shorter the time you have your heater on, the longer you'll go between refills of your propane tank. (What's HUD spelled backwards?)

Since I don't want to do the math to calculate how long I can go (in theory) between refills by running my heater for 6 minutes on after each 50 minutes off (see my experiment below), 14 times per day, I went ahead and wrote the date of the last fill on the tank itself. When it becomes empty, I will have my answer and I'll let you know. I started with an empty tank and it took on 14.4 gallons of propane when I filled it at the local station. By the way -I paid $2.99 per gallon! It is much cheaper at other locations, but I was too excited to wait.

Here are some results from a runtime experiment I've conducted:

Cycle #1:

Outdoor temperature: 55.6 F

Indoor temperature: 68.4 F

Time heater not burning: 56 min 46 sec

Time heater burning: 5 minutes 50 seconds

Cycle #2:

Outdoor temperature: 56.8 F

Indoor temperature: 68.5 F

Time heater not burning: 44 min 3 sec

Time heater burning: 5 min 54 sec

Cycle #3:

Outdoor temperature: 56.8 F

Indoor temperature: 68.5 F

Time heater not burning: 51 min 39 sec

Time heater burning: 5 min 32 sec

On the large heat control knob, there are small raised dots. There is a dot right at the "1" and then four more dots is where the "2" is. To achieve these runtime intervals (i.e., on/off times), I have set the dial to one dot past the "1" and this is where we achieve our 68 degrees (with temps in the 50s outdoors).

Something you should also know, and I had to find this out from experience. I thought that the low setting would set the flame lower and on the high setting, the flames would be larger. Not so. The dial is merely a thermostat. The flames are pretty much full whether the heater is on LOW or on HIGH. I did notice a little more flame at the very top end of the dial, but it's not much. To control the temperature in the house, therefore, all you need to do is select a spot on the dial and leave it there.

We keep our house at 68 degrees and dress warmer if we get a little chilly. But I am here to tell you, you'll burn a lot more propane if you keep your house just 2 degrees warmer and to us, it's just not worth it. We "wear" our 2 degrees and it doesn't cost us a penny more.

Here's something else -the pilot runs while the flame is off. BUT -when you are not going to be running the heater, just turn the whole thing off, including the fan.

The fan is rather wimpy, but adequate. I think it moves more air than we might think, but if you want more "wind," you might want to augment it with a small electric fan.

CARBON MONOXIDE CAN KILL YOU! -Having researched many opinions about vent free heaters running inside a home, I decided to go out and purchase a CO (carbon monoxide) detector with alarm. I have a model that includes a digital display of actual levels of Carbon Monoxide and it displays the reading in parts per million. The very first sign of CO poisoning is a frontal headache. Go read all you care to about CO poisoning and what symptoms are brought about by what levels of toxicity (you never want it above 70ppm and you definitely need to leave the house if it ever gets up to 100ppm, but my device detects zero Carbon Monoxide. I have placed the device atop a set of shelves about 30 inches, nearly directly above, the heater. That said, we still have plenty of ventilation in our manufactured home (bathroom fans pull air into the enclosure through vents in our window design) and the heater does come with a low oxygen shut-down safety feature. Which I don't trust. Which is why I bought the CO detector/alarm unit.

Obviously, it is still a warm Autumn with mild outdoor temperatures. But that's all gonna change soon. We bought this heater in preparation for the power outages we'll face when the big Pacific Northwest storms start pounding us.

I am giving the Mr Heater Model #VF30KBLUELP 30,000 BTU Vent Free Propane Heater 5 stars. Wimpy fan or not, this is a kick-butt alternative to any dependence on electric furnaces when the power goes out. And I think it can also hold its own as a primary heat source in any area with adequate ventilation (along with a CO detection device, just to be on the safe side).

Hope this review helped.

I have used several different types of this kind of stove in different locations. Currently have an all electric house with a pellet stove. Found a really nice like new 50 gallon upright propane tank at a yard sale that I'm using right now.

This is not a good do it yourself project for a home owner. These things require a real installation from someone trained and qualified. Once I got the tank, it needed a regulator, a POL, two pieces of flex (one outdoor, one indoor) a ball shut off valve, some schedule 80 black iron pipe to go through the wall with a lot of other pipe parts and a sediment trap.

THEN once everything is set up, it REQUIRES a real leak test and a gas check before it's put into service.

Once all that was installed correctly and completely tested out? It worked great. Probably took over half an hour to get gas to the pilot light though. Which is normal, air gets in there and it has to be purged out while the thing is attempting to get lit up.

Settings on the control go from 1 5. Have not had it beyond the '1' mark yet. 3 bedroom, two bath house getting into the 20's at night, mid 30's during the day I used 10 gallons of propane the first week.

Can't hear it come on and off as it cycles through it's thermostat. Fan has an automatic setting so it doesn't have to run all the time, either.

Big plus with this one for me was that it comes with the legs and fan. Isn't as much fun to watch as my old vent free fireplace but it sure does get the job done for heating this house and is probably less than half what the stupid pellet stove was costing me. With NO hassle. And the propane company will come out and fill the tank the day after I call if it starts getting low.

Couple of the wood stove die hard neighbors are coming around to check this out. Can imagine it won't be too long before they have one of these, too!

It probably took a little over 2 1/2 hours to install.

The shipping on this was a real treat, too. Came right away in perfect shape. Sure don't have any complaints on this one!

Honest reviews on Mr. Heater 30,000 BTU Propane Blue Flame Vent-Free Heater

This heater works as well as I had hoped it would and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. The "auto" function for the blower fan, for example, causes a delay in the fan operation until enough heat is built up from the flame before it comes on. When the target temperature is reached, the flame goes off and the fan continues to run until it is no longer blowing warm air, then it stops blowing. In other words, this little portable heater work exactly like the furnace in your house is designed to work. It exceeds my expectations.

Ok, I took a little time before reviewing this heater because I wanted to use it for a few days. Here is what I found. Some have said it is large. Yes, its a bit large but it puts out 30,000 BTU's and heats my cabin of 1,000 sq ft. It's not a portable like Mr Heaters Big Buddy's which I also have. There are no handles on it to carry it around. For me at least it is a permanent heater. You can hang it on the wall or attach the legs for floor use.

Setting it up was not difficult but be aware you will need some pipes and connections as it only comes with one elbow for floor use. Some parts I got from Amazon and had my local hose guy put it all together. I did the rest.

Now comes the use of it. At first I had a few problems with the thermostat. It would come on and stay on which made my cabin way too hot. After texting with Bill Sisley at Mr Heater, a great tech by the way, He helped figure out my problem. Notice I said my problem not the heaters. The problem was a draft.

Now the thermostat works perfectly and so does the blower fan. The heater works like a furnace in a large house

All in all it's a great heater and I would recommend it. Just know, you will need to purchase some parts.

One last thing, The heater including the fan is very quiet.

This is a great item if you want to get started with making your own Kombucha. It contains all the things you need including clear instructions and support from KKamp. Once I started with this, I regularly bottle 8 16oz bottles every three or four days. Its effortless, and because you can fill bottles right from the spout, it's even easier.

It was fairly easy to put together, you just need a screw driver to bolt the legs, but the trickiest part to me was the spout. Once I figured it out it was a snap.

Do get this kit if you can, the heater was very helpful starting mine in March in California. It can be pretty cold that time of the year. The only thing I would change if I could would be to upgrade to a heater with a thermostat. I have to plug and unplug with the weather changes.

You won't be disappointed with this great combo.

We have had this for a few weeks now. the support lining inside the mattress has somehow come loose from the mattress walls and is bunched up at the head of the mattress. The mattress feels like it's mushroomed out when my husband and i both are laying in the bed. We tried letting some of the water out thinking this would help but it hasn't. not sure what to do at this point. I can't imagine having to drain this and send it back. We were aware when we purchased the item that it was repackaged. Not sure if this had anything to do with our current problem or not. The mattress was not "used" when we recvd it though. before this occured that mattress was very comfortable.

When you climb into it it feels almost like a normal firm mattress. but heated. I LOVE the water bed mostly because of the heat but I recently had lumbar fusion surgery 3 weeks ago and the water bed mattress just wasn't cutting it. As it was I was getting up in the morning very stiff and sore. This mattress gives me the luxaries I love most about a waterbed however without the soreness in the AM. I can barely even tell when my husband is in the bed where before we couldn't even cuddle at all due to a hill I would always be on. No more hill. THANK YOU!!!

This is the best waterbed ever (my 3rd) I thought I had it just right when I set it up, but my tests were with just me, and when you added my wife to the equation it was a little firm, so drained a little water out and now it is perfect. I the past I only had certain positions that I could find sleep, now it doesn't matter. Whatever position it just melts around and supports you. And on cold Colorado nights it's like crawling back in the womb, the sheets are warm and the bed is just right. Not everybody is a waterbed person, but I would recommend this waterbed to anyone. In addition the electric water pump is the only way to fly.

Honest reviews on InnoMax Genesis 900 Super Waveless Lumbar Support Sponge Bed

The first time I ordered this mattress, two days latter hadn't shown up. A chat with customer service discovered it was never shipped. No reason why it was never shipped other than 'un-shippable' was given. The liner ordered at the same time did arrive.

Customer service offered to ship it overnight at no charge to me. This time, the mattress did show up: with a rather large hole in the side of the box. Opening the box, there was a hole in the plastic bag the mattress was in. Fortunately, no damage was found on a close inspection of the mattress.

As another review stated, there are no filling directions are provided. Not much of problem for me because I've been sleeping on water beds for over 20 years now.

The foam inside the mattress needs some time to uncompress. So getting the fill level is a bit tricky. It took about 48 hours for the internal foam to fully relax. Once it did, the mattress is a delight.

Customer service came through but it was quite a roller coaster ride to get the mattress. Time will tell if it was worth it.

After buying a succession of cheap coffee makers which broke down after a year or two and made mediocre coffee, I decided to upgrade to Cuisinart.

I don't agree with the negative comments about this product.

The clock is easy to program and it's clearly indicated that you should either use paper or gold filter (twice in the instructions). It's also easy to pour water in the reservoir if you use the carafe. You can turn the coffee maker to the left, and the reservoir opening is easily accessible. Its opening is by no means tiny, as a reviewer described it.

The center funnel which holds the filter is well situated and there is very little risk of dropping coffee grounds into the water reservoir.

The carafe is well designed, with a comfortable handle. It pours neatly, without dripping coffee all over the counter, something which always happened with my old Mr. Coffee.

You do have to realize the lid snaps down on top of the carafe. This is not explained in the instructions.

Most importantly, it makes an excellent coffee.

There is a 3 year guaranty which is more than I have seen for others.

So far, I have no complaint, and I am glad I bought this product for a great price.

UPDATE: I am still using this coffee maker as of today, August 13, 2012. It's still working well though there are signs of wear. The carafe lid is looser and the cover hinge has a tendancy to stick. Otherwise, there are no problems.

My name is Ryan, and I'm a coffee addict... My habit ranges from 1 to 3 pots a day just to remain conscious. So you can understand the level of misery I have had to endure this past week as my 4 year old Gevalia machine met an untimely death during a recent lightning storm. I then began the hunt for a new machine. Basically, Amazon was my first stop since they have everything. I read all sorts of reviews, and finally settled on this one. I must say, this is by far the best machine I've ever owned.

In reading the reviews, I found a few gripes that I don't agree with, so here's my response to those:

1. The number one gripe I see is filling difficulty. The fill hole is much larger than my old machine. Some people said its too small and makes a huge mess. My first time, it did drip a little bit but if you leave the lid off the pot while pouring, works like a charm. Let me put it this way... I wake up in the morning with the jitters, like a fiend looking for some crack... If I can pour it without making a mess ANYONE can. And that's a fact.

2. Numero Dos: Programming difficulty. I'm no rocket scientist by any means, but I had this thing programmed within about 5 minutes. I had no problem understanding the directions. I believe most gripes in this area are operator error.

3. Basket issues: It doesn't stand up on it's own, true, but I don't understand how anyone could miss the basket. Leave it in the machine for pete sake! I hope they don't miss their mouth with that hot coffee! Again, If I can do it without making a mess, anyone can. As for choosing paper or mesh filter, paper of course filters better, but mesh makes it stronger and leaves a bit of sediment in the pot... each way has it's benefits depending on how you like yours.

4. Flip-top so large you have to pull it out from under the counter: True, but how lazy can you be... honestly? It's not that hard of a chore. You'd be hard pressed to find a machine that isn't like this.

I, like others, had some pre-conceived notions from negative reviews, but I found most if not ALL of those to be some pretty weak arguments. I guess some people have more problems than others when trying to understand directions and such. This machine is top notch for the price, hands down!

OH! And please look through all the comments, It's going on 3 years and I have given multiple updates as time has passed. I'm sure you will enjoy!

Best Deals on Cuisinart DCC-1100 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker

Hello fellow coffee drinkers. Like most of you I have looked long and hard for a good basic coffee maker. In the last 5 years I have gone through 4 new products and have been quite dissapointed in this whole experience. I mean how hard can it be to make a good coffee maker. I had the basic braun coffee maker for 10 years and loved it. However, two new braun coffee makers later I realized that quality had gone down the drain with the coffee grinds. Then I purchased a krups. I returned it to the store within two weeks as it stopped working. They gave me a replacement which lasted just past the warranty. (figures) Then I tried a GE combo grinder brewer. That was the worst mistake I could have ever made. The first sign that it was garbage should have been when the GE emblem fell off. It leaked. It spilled. I spent more time cleaning than brewing, and thankfully it didn't last as long as its warranty and I had no intentions of getting another one free or not.

I have had this cuisinart now for three weeks. It does everything it says it will do. It never leaks, spills or makes a mess. As per the other reviews I feel it could have a bigger fill area but it really is no more difficult to fill than any other brewer I have owned. (don't let that stand in the way of buying this) I also think it is very easy to program and will even keep your settings in memory if it is unpluged for a short period of time.

This coffee maker works perfect and I hope it lasts as long as the warranty and beyond.

Happy brewing.

Honest reviews on Cuisinart DCC-1100 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker

To make drip coffee, a machine has to do just two things well -heat the water adequately, and disperse the hot water over the grounds. Oddly, most coffee makers fail at one or the other. This Cuisinart does both pretty well, which is why it is probably the best machine on the market right now under $200 (and the reviews at Amazon testify to that).

TEMPERATURE: The overwhelming majority of brands do not heat the water adequately -if the water at the grounds is only getting to 175-180 degrees, you will have sour, weak coffee. Ideal temperature is around 202-205. Using a digital thermometer, I measured the DCC-1100 at 197 in the filter basket, which is quite good.

DISPERSION: The second task is showering the hot water over the grounds somewhat evenly. Many coffee makers just stream it in from a mini-faucet, so they overbrew the grounds in the center of the filter and neglect the grounds around the edges. Result is weak, slightly bitter coffee. The very expensive Capresso machine has this problem -it heats water to nearly 200 degrees but delivers that water poorly. The Capresso, which costs close to $200, makes mediocre coffee (at least it did for us). The Cuisinart isn't perfect in this regard but it does have a "shower head" design that disperses the water pretty well.

One other tip, which applies to all drip machines: Don't start with cold water. Room temperature is good. You can do this by running the tap partly warm, or by pouring the water the night before and letting it get to room temp. It gives the heating element a much better chance of getting the water to a good brewing temp.

This coffee maker makes great coffee, is fairly easy to use, and is true red. However...when ordering they do not tell you that it uses a small charcoal type filter that needs to be replaced every month or two (depending on use) and that these filters are far from cheap!

I installed this in the living room of my 5th wheel trailer. We rarely see temps below freezing, so this does a nice job of keeping my trailer toasty. The all steel construction is much better than the plastic De Longhi that it replaced. I have it wall mounted, so I can't comment on the wheels.

RV's do not have unlimited current available, so the ability to run this on 5, 10 or 15 amps is very useful.

Expensive, but worth it. The steel case can be opened, it therefore can be repaired.

It's just okay...because...I received it damaged, & contacted Amazon, I was told if I kept it, I would be refunded 50%. I have not received the refund, I have sent contact info about this several times with no response to me. I am not a happy customer of Amazon about this and I would appreciate hearing from someone soon. I am keeping the machine, it's dented on the front & looks ugly, but it's too much hassle to pack something that large up & mail back, plus the time & expense. Someone needs to help me!!!!

I looked at a number of poppers before I chose a different one. However, Amazon wasn't able to get that one shipped, so working with their customer service, I settled on this one. My 8 & 10 year old children helped me put it together. The instructions were disappointing, and not all the pieces lined up properly, but the finished product was secure and looked good.

We started with the Great Northern popcorn packs, and it make "good" popcorn. We experimented with some of our own blends of oil and seasonings, and we made "great" popcorn. The kettle gets messy and requires cleaning every couple of batches. The kettle lid seems to be an older design, where the lid is not attached to the kettle and slides up to the top where a magnet holds it in place. I would have preferred the lids that are attached to the kettle with a hinge. I have had to use some "kettle cleaner" for burned spots, but it does the job quickly. The rest of the popper has cleaned up well with warm water (sometimes with vinegar added).

Overall I would recommend this popper, but understand that it is not 5 star perfect.

I read a lot of review about this product before I made my purchase. What I noticed on a pretty consistent basis is that the people who posted really negative reviews were people who don't actually have one because they think the heaters are too expensive. Lets' settle this up front, these heaters are expensive so if you're looking for a bargain then this heater is not for you. If, however, you're looking for a stylish way to heat your home or maybe just an individual room then I think this heater is a great. I am completely satisfied with my heaters. I have 2 of them, one for my bedroom and one for the living room, dinning room, kitchen area. The total square footage of my house is just shy of 1,000sq ft.

The heaters have kept my house an nice and even 67 degrees (my preferred temperature) without any noticeable fluctuations in temperature. I live in Ketchikan, Alaska, which is in the middle of a temperate rain forest. This means that we don't get the extreme cold temperatures here, but it certainly is not "warm" very frequently. I chose to go with electric heaters because electricity is much cheaper than oil where live and natural gas is not an option. I tried the cheap space heaters that people keep saying "will heat your house just as well as they Dyson for 10% of the cost", and I can tell you that they certainly do not maintain a consistent temperature the way that these heaters do. I saw that some people have complained that they're a little big "loud", but I don't really think so. After a few days I really didn't even notice when the heater was running anymore. I guess I expected that the heaters would make a little bit of noise since they're also fans and I've never had a fan that didn't make some noise. Overall I'm very satisfied with the performance of the heater. It does what I expected it to do, which is heat one 500 sq ft area in my house, and heat my bedroom which is about 300 sq ft.

So the real question is "is this heater worth the money"? To me, I say absolutely. They do what I want them to do, and they look awesome. I'm willing to pay extra to get something more than just utility out of a device. Are there no cheaper "safe" heaters, no other cheaper heaters that will heat just as well, of course not. There are lots of other heaters out there, and if you're getting this heater because you think somehow it's gonna magically heat your house better for less money, then you're going to be disappointed. If you are going to buy heaters anyway and don't mind paying a little extra for heaters that look cool, then go ahead an purchase this heater. I did, and I don't regret it. I liken purchasing this device to purchasing a Bose audio device. You'll have to put up with listening to people tell you about how you "overpaid for a name brand", but in the end, most people who have Bose audio systems are very happy with them. In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with paying a little more for something you'll be happy with if you can afford it. So these aren't a bargain, but they are fun.

I'll start with a little scene setting: When the idiots who previously owned my 1914 farmhouse a long, long time ago turned the attic into a master bedroom (guest room and bathroom too), they didn't run the heat vents to the master. Because of this, I turn the house heat off at night unless we have guests. They installed a chintzy little built-in electric heater in the wall. The bedroom is 400 square feet with ceilings 25 feet high in center to 12 feet at the edge. The wall heater scares me. I've made it through four winters just fine, only occasionally needing a second blanket. Obviously we have good insulation, seals around the door to the widow's walk, and good windows (I keep one cracked at all times tho). Then I had surgery in early January and was forced to lounge around in bed all day. My SO stayed home to take care of me. In order to heat the bedroom to a comfortable level, the heat downstairs needed to turned on really, really high.

In checking out solutions, I discovered the Dyson hot was a fan as well. I was sold, having fallen in love with fans at my friends homes on hot, hot days last summer. Also since the heat comes from the center of a void, my dog won't interested. They have been known to sniff the vent front on a fan and that part heats up with a space heater. Also dog hair collects on traditional fans (and therefore heat fans). Pugs shed a lot, but with the Dyson Hot, the fur stays on the ground. But everyone was sold out of them, and the company selling on Amazon was marked up $50 over the $399 price tag. On a post-doctor appt. trip to Bed, Bath & Beyond to buy throw pillows to elevate my arm, I saw the Dyson Hot in white was $100 off (blue sold out, but I was in too much pain to care about the color).

After reading reviews, I did not know what to expect. We set it up in the middle of the room on the floor at an angle from the wall, so it would oscillate past the bed (its a platform so low to ground) and I turned it on at 68 degrees fan level 2. I was freezing. It took maybe 5 minutes for me to stop freezing. I didn't really pay attention to it and went about lounging around uncomfortably in bed. I heard it going on and off. It's not loud, but it does sound like a fan. Obviously the higher fan speeds means more noise, but not loud enough to say have to turn the tv off or wake me up.

When my SO came to check on me he commented how the room felt really warm with a noticeable temperature difference between hallway and bedroom. Warm and happy, I turned the fan off for a while and turned it on as needed throughout the last few weeks.

Basic Observations:

1. On Oscillation mode it heats up a 400 square foot room to a comfortable temperature. I am not a person who thinks a room needs to be 80 degrees--more like between 68 to 72. With my arm in a crazy contraption, I can only wear tank tops and the like, so I'm not bundled up. The Dyson Hot keeps At night, I put the Dyson Hot on 66 and eventually turn it off when I get too warm under covers. It heats a decent size room quickly AND COMFORTABLY.

2. On fan speed 2, you can feel the heat from about 10 feet away. It's not a hard blast pf hot, but a warm breeze as it moves by you. 10 feet is where my head sits if its on edge of bed. I didn't test further distances. I also didn't test the stationary mode.

3. It's sitting on hardwood floor. It's not wobbly and it doesn't heat up on the plug or base. The dogs sniff around it a bit, but haven't burnt themselves, although the inside has a warning it gets hot. I didn't touch it. But most importantly, it's sturdy. I've used oscillating heaters in the past (at work) and they always wobbled and would fall easily.

4. Through our really bad winter storms last week, it survived a couple brown outs. It also kept me warm.

5. It has both the thermostat and the fan speed. Much more control than the usual low, medium, high. The thermostat is on the base pointing out instead of on top, so you can actually see it when using remote.

6. I've used the fan a couple times and it offers a nice cool breeze throughout the room.

7. It's not whisper quiet, but than neither was the $150 whisper quiet space heater I had at work.

it is the same audible level as the Dyson fan.

Cons:

1. Moving between the heater and fan is clunky, requiring you to lower the temperature to 32 to turn on fan and up too 66 to turn on heater. I would have liked a button to switch.

2. The remote is supposedly magnetic with the top of the fan. Mine is not as far as I can tell. I keep the remote on the nightstand so not really a problem.

3. No timer. Not necessary, but would be a nice feature.

So yes it's expensive, but if you don't have the money for it, than don't complain about the price just don't buy it. I don't see that as a con. I am willing to pay extra for a safe, reliable room heater that also has a great fan. All of the ones I've used or seen at friends houses have always sucked or are scary like the one stuck in my wall. And not all of those are that cheap anyway. It's not going to substitute for an actual heater in the house, but its an excellent option to add extra heat to a single room.

Update: now that I'm not on bed rest, my SO has been using the Dyson hot. He's more of a crank it up until the room is an oven, he puts it on 86 or so and leaves it on for a while. It really does crank the heat. This thing is warm!

Update 2: After two months of continuous use between January 20 and March 20, 2012 in the cold, cold Seattle Winter including snow (no other heater in bedroom), my bill was $13 more in 2012 than in 2011. So it seems pretty energy efficient.

Best Deals on Dyson AM04 Hot + Cool Heater/Table Fan

I bought this product because it was not just a heater it is both a heater and a fan. This product works and works well. We have a large second floor bedroom that gets cooler in the winter than the other areas of the house. We have already had temps of 38 at night and by setting this heater at 72 with the swivel turned on and tilted up warms the room very quickly and then stops while the thermostat waits for the temp to drop. So I do not have to adjust the furnace to compensate for this bedroom. The remote control is extremely simple to use and the read-outs on the front are clear and easily readable. I have tried other heating units and this is by far the best.

Honest reviews on Dyson AM04 Hot + Cool Heater/Table Fan

There are a lot of negative and positive reviews of this heater and very little in between. Here's my take. First, I paid $260 at Costco...at the $400 list price I would have a different level of expectation, but I'm judging based on what I paid.

It's quiet as fans go...I found it to be a very reasonable sound level. It warms our upstairs nicely (we have a wood stove to heat downstairs...I'm not heating a 1000 square foot detached garage, so I don't know if it's up to that job). The rotating and tilt features are great for our needs to spread the heat around upstairs from the hallway. Controls, remote are all nice, easy to use. It's very small so you would have to practically get on your knees to hit the controls, but the remote eliminates the need for that. The compact cylindrical shape makes it easy to place in small areas. It produces a decent jet of warm air...almost a tube shaped flow.

The exposed surface (inside the ring) does get very warm, BUT not what I'd call dangerously hot. I have a 4 and a 6 year old. If they tried to hold on to the surface as long as they could they might be able to burn themselves, but when I touched it it slowly got more uncomfortable...I pulled my hand away after about 5-10 seconds, unharmed. So I think the kids would feel hot enough that they would pull their hands away well before they got burned. Same for a inquisitive pet sniffing around. With a toddler my concern wouldn't be so much getting burned but knocking it down. I think one could place it outside a baby/toddler room and let it shoot the jet of heat through a gate (leaving 3 ft between the unit and the gate).

It has overheat and tilt safety which I like, although I think the safety shut off for the tilt should kick in a lot sooner...I have a cheap heater that shuts off at about 10 degrees. The Dyson seems to have to be 80 degrees or so...could be a problem if it falls partially on to something and remains on, leaning against it (like a pile of clothes). That should be improved.

Like most of these heaters the cord is only 6 ft so it does make it hard to place (because extension cords are not supposed to be used).

I recommend it enough that I wanted to write this to counter some of the negative reviews.

I chose this because Dyson products have an extremely good reputation. I have one of their vacuums and it's great. This heater is so nice--really heats a room but slowly and keeps it at an even temp. Quiet---no sign of fire or flame or hot tubes. Doesn't use a ton of electricity. So very pleased!!!
