This big gizmo phase couples nothing at all. It's easy to install at the clothes dryer, and it should work there. But it does not. Returned it.

This item did not work for our home's X10 application. We previously had a repeater/coupler on our dryer and all the X10 signals would go across the two legs of our home. We changed our dryer to a 4 prong and the old repeater/coupler could not be used anymore. We purchased this phase coupler for our range and it would not repeat the X10 signals across the two phases in our home. We ended up returning this unit and purchasing a 4 prong repeater/coupler again for our dryer. Now, our X10 signals are reliable again across the home. It may work for you, but didn't for us.

I bought this so the two phases would be coupled in order to use my X10 controlling system. It functioned for 2 days then stopped working, without explanation. I returned it as the two phases were, in the end, not coupled for my purposes. Returned it.

This thing works great. Before installing, some of my X10 modules didn't work on certain circuits in my house. When leaving on long trips I had to run extension cords to some lamps in different rooms so as to give the house a lived in look. Now all those problems are gone, and what an easy install.

These are NOT Intermatic timers. They are Woods timers. The wires aren't quite as easy to use. We have found a slightly higher failure rate. They are generically equivalent, but should not be presented as Intermatic when they are not.

I'm not an electrician, however this timer is easy to install and works well. I installed one in a double box(originally had two single pole switches in it) and a second in a triple box. Installation was easy and the timers fit in without any problems. The cover plate and supplied cover pieces(knob and time dial)showed no gaps or obvious holes. The timers I received were Intermatic products. I used these on ventilation fans/exhaust fans and the timer alleviates the problem of having to remember to return and turn off the old switches. Just thought I'd mention that I purchased these as they are spring loaded. I noticed the other timers made mention of a battery in there description. Good product.

The Intermatic FD60MC 60-Minute Spring Loaded Wall Timer, gets a 5 star rating. It a quality built product unlike the one I replaced. I would have purchased more, but this was the last one in stock. This is not a cheap made timer and the color(ivory)is getting hard to find. I've searched Home Depot, Menards, and Lowes nobody carries Ivory wall timers.

Honest reviews on Intermatic FD60MC 60-Minute Spring Loaded Wall Timer, Ivory

Replaced the switch in my laundry room, where tenants tend to leave the lights on. Tried other motion switches and such, but this one works on multipole scenarios.

After my order I received an email from the seller saying they were out of the Intermatic. They offered a Woods or my money back. I have 2 Intermatic installed now and could not find them anywhere except for a much higher price online so I went with the Woods. The Woods is basicly the same type as the Intermatic. Installs and runs the same way. It does feel like the spring might not be as good as the Intermatic.

I have run my 2 Intermatics now for over 4 years without a problem. They install just like a wall switch. Good luck finding them though. Home Depot told me they bought all of the remaining Intermatics months ago and they are all gone now.

The first review I gave for the Homebasix Milkhouse heater was a good review. However, now that I have owned two of them for awhile, I have had to revise my opinion downward. The first heater arrived in great condition and worked great for awhile but after a few months, the thermostat began to stick, the heater would stay on and not turn off until I manually turned the knob. The second heater arrived somewhat beat up because the heater box itself was not packed into another box. This second heater has never been reliable because the thermostat would completely fail and and the heater would not come on at all. The heaters were so inexpensive that I just dumped both of them. When they work, they put out good heat but when they don't work, they either overheat or don't heat at all. I hope no one bought this heater based on my former review. So, I'm still looking for a reliable milkhouse heater like the old ones they made 20 years ago.

There were several heaters of differing price ranges that I looked at but I chose this for the price and the basic features and am very happy with it. It is a simple heater with simple safety features, and it is solidly constructed and very quiet when operating. It is much quieter than other milkhouse heaters I have seen and it also has a fan setting that just blows cool air, which is perfect for my office because sometimes I just need some air circulating and sometimes I need to warm up the office. The tipover safety feature works well (I only tested it to see if it works) but I guess it also turns off when it gets too hot. I like it and it does everything I need.

I was a little worried about the installation but because I had access to the attic above the bathroom it went well. I removed the existing light fixture since there are other lights in the bathroom and removed the electrical box. Next I cut the opening larger to accomodate the 9422P. I slid it between the beams from the exposed attic side after moving some insulation. Wired it up, slapped on the plastic grill and turned it on. I used 2 red heater bulbs and I have to say it doesn't make a big diffrence. The bulbs were GE Heat Lamp, 250 Watt 4.8 out of 5 stars Price: $7.69 . I do have a large bathroom 140 sq ft and maybe that's why I don't feel a lot of heat. The point is it will help but don't have high expectation that it will make a huge difference.

This little heater is the best I've ever owned. It warms up a large room very quickly and is SO quiet. I would trade my other heaters which are a lot bigger, bulkier and noisy for this little critter. I've had it over a year now and it's still going strong!

Best Deals on Holmes Compact Energy Efficient Heater Fan

This heater heats a small or moderate room with ease. But do not buy it if you are looking for "whisper quiet" operation. It makes about as much noise as a box fam on medium setting. Not a problem for me and I like having the small-space heater instead of heating the whole house.

This is the second one of these I purchased. The first one I purchased from K Mart. I am on my second season with it. I saw this one at this price and I just had to jump on. I have tried a bunch of these types of heaters and I think this one is, if not the best, one of the best. It is the best I have tried. One of my main gripes about all other heaters I have tried of this type is temperature control or should I say a lack of it. This heater comes on when it's supposed to and turns off when it's supposed to. The others I have tried go well past the temperature you set it for and once they do shut off they let the temperature fall way below where you set it for before they turn back on. Either it's too hot or too cold. This R2 keeps the room dead on within a degree or two of where you set it. That to me is why I bought this thing in the first place. I want comfort not misery. This unit is quiet, it is so quiet at times, you can hardly tell it's on. The others talk the talk about even temperature in a room. This R2 walks the walk. I average about 2 degrees difference between the floor and the ceiling. No other heater I have used of this type even comes close. This R2 pulls the cold air off the floor starting at about 2 inches and has a fan strong enough to blow the heated air about 8 feet across the floor before it rises. That's in slow speed. That translates into comfort. This heater has 3 real power settings. Most of the others I have tried don't. At first read you may think so but most only really have 2. This heater has 2 fan speeds. The others I have tried only have one. This heater may be a bit more pricey than others but if it's comfort you are after, this one is a keeper. If you didn't hear me the first time I will tell you again. I just ordered my second. This one has stood the test of time and lived up to my expectations or should I say just about all of my expectations. The one thing I wish all these heaters had is a "Power Loss Memory". Just say you were away or just plain sleeping and the power went off. When the power comes back on, these heaters stay off. You could come home or wake up to a cold house. It wouldn't take much, maybe a battery and some small circuit changes, not a big deal. That's it for me. You decide! I have!

We saw this advertised in a Jewish Newspaper and were intrigued. We bought the larger size pot when we realized that they both had the same " footprint " and the larger size took up no extra space on the counter-top, the difference in volume being made up in the height of the unit, not the width or depth. It's a very cool looking unit. The design makes certain issues of Hachzorah and Hamtanoh easier. The little plastic switch cover looks neater than putting aluminum foil over the controls as we have done on out other crock pots. The instructions aren't really explicit as to how to use the Blech component, but anyone familiar with Hilchos Shabbos shouldn't have a problem. If in doubt, contact your LOR ( local Orthodox Rabbi ) If you are used to using a conventional crock pot, the cooking times are somewhat different and it does take some trial and error to get it right. Overall we are very happy with the unit. Very easy to keep clean. We give it 5 stars. There is nothing on the market to compare.

This heater was purchased to replace a ProCom blue flame heater for a very small bathroom in an off-grid cabin. The previous heater did a great job for several years, and when it needed replacement parts, we decided to try the more efficient and safer version. It heats instantly and thoroughly in the 10/10 foot room. The low O2 safety switch works. We plugged the gap under the door, and after about twenty minutes it clicked off on it's own, which is an important factor for me. My only negative comment is that I miss the therostatic control we had on the other one. If that is important to you, I think the next model up has one.

I work in my garage in the evenings from time to time and it tends to get very chilly in the winter. I chose the 3 burner model to have the multiple settings options based on the amount of heat that I needed. Even with my garage door open it will keep my garage at a comfortable temperature that allows me to work late into the evenings. I am very pleased with the amount of time that I get from a single tankful, much longer than my old heater. The only complaint that I have is the button that has to be held down while lighting the burners. It is a little on the small side (Diameter) with sharp edges that tends to get a little uncomfortable while holding it in. Other than that I have absolutely no complaints and will happily live with that little problem to maintain a warm garage to work in. I highly recommend this product to everyone trying to keep warm. It is a great product at a great price.

We already had the 30,000 BTU heater and it works great. This 20,000 works just as well. The thermostat keeps the temp pretty even....no constant adjusting or getting to hot or too cold. We don't have electric for the blower yet but the blower on the 30,000 works very well. The pilot ignition is much better than our older heaters...just a gentle press of the button.

I have a 20ft x 20ft two car garage with a 12ft ceiling and this thing keeps it right at 62 degrees on the first setting.

Customer service is also great, mine came with some shipping damage and the parts were not available to fix it. I waited a few weeks during which time I was contacted by customer support a few times keeping me updated as to when the parts would arrive. After about 3 weeks the weather started to get cold and the parts still had not arrived so I contacted Mr. Heater support again and they replaced the entire unit leaving me with the old unit for spare parts. So while it wasn't the ideal situation, and though wasn't their fault (UPS breaks many things), they made it right and were very pleasant doing so.

The only con, and a very small one at that, would be that I would like a bit more control of the temperature. At least in the garage setting the lowest temperature it keeps it at is 62, which I really only need maybe 45-50, just to keep the cars from freezing ect. Other than that, its perfect!

No smells. The company changed the material and the mat does not emit any odors at all.

I use this mat daily with the accessory Hi Lo switch on Lo. It's on all day long and has been a great product.

I hope that the older reviews won't scare new customers away.

Update Sept. 28, 2011: I have had this mat for over a year now, no smells, and it works great. No smells!!!!!

Update Oct. 3, 2011: just bought a second mat for a co-worker. Be sure to buy the high low switch if you want to use the mat barefoot or in socks, because high is hot, but low is just right for socks.

I bought this last winter (2004), despite the many reviews warning about the odor emitted, and boy, do I regret it! I thought I could tough it out; most people said the horrible skunk smell would GO AWAY after some time, and, to me, warm feet would be worth a temporary annoyance. As some have suggested, I plugged this in the garage first, to try to burn off much of the odor before bringing it inside. I left it plugged in a large part of the day for about two weeks. The smell was definitely horrible, but I guess because our garage is very large, and far from airtight, the full extent of the noxious odor was not obvious, until I moved it into the office. In just a few minutes, the entire HOUSE smelled like a charred skunk. But it was more than a smell, it was a TASTE as well, and we coughed quite a bit if we tried to stay in the office with it, and I got a horrible headace. I turned it off and decided to give it another week in the garage, this time I left it plugged in all the time. The second try in the office was JUST as bad as the first, and at this point the mat had been "burning off" its smell for over 3 weeks! I stubbornly left the mat in the office for a week, forcing myself to use it, trying to adjust to or ignore the skunk that was attacking my nose with every breath. After all, it REALLY DID keep my feet nice and toasty warm. Finally I'd had it, I couldn't take it anymore. The headaches and permeating odor were simply not worth it. I took the thing and threw it in the garage, unplugged, where it remains to this day. I only wish I had been realistic and sent the thing back when I had the chance. It is an absolute nightmare. By the way, the reason I thought to write this review today is because when I sat down at my desk I was reminded of this mat , as I am every day, because I smelled the lingering, embedded stink of burning SKUNK that it left behind. And this is October 2005, nearly a year later and several carpet cleanings and after it briefly occupied this space. Does it warm your feet? Definitely. But you've been warned, it isn't worth it!

Have you ever seen that Seinfeld where Jerry's car is attacked by BO that doesn't go away, and lingers on anything that crosses its path? This has the same disease. Plus, it was clearly a used item the packaging was repacked and the foot warmer was dirty. Gross, but it's a foot warmer so I thought I'd give it a chance regardless. In its defense, it *does* work my terminally cold wife liked the warm footsy feel; unfortunately she has a sense of smell. The room we had it in is still stinky! Get this thing outta our house!!! :)

Honest reviews on Indus-Tool FWXXX Electric Foot Warmer Mat

This product must be "baked" outside in the sun, plugged in, for about one week. The reason is that the rubber compound emits an obnoxious odor for the first few days of use. I would not recommend it for a foot warmer inside a confined area. My intended use is as a boot drier in the garage. Do not purchase this product if you are sensitive to chemical odors from plasticizers and rubber.

I had the "old model" of this oven for around 5-years or so. I broke one of the infrared bulbs (while cleaning it) last week. Fortunately I found out that they have started to make this oven again. They had stopped (or at least stopped importing them) when I checked a couple of years ago for a friend of mine who wanted one. But this "new model" is exactly the same as my "old" one except the name on a couple of buttons has changed, and also it's now silver instead of white.

Frist, let me just say what this toaster oven is NOT. . .It is NOT a replacement for a "traditional" oven. If you're looking for something of that sort, then I highly recommend you check out one of the Breville or Black & Decker models. This Panasonic toaster oven will NOT cook a chicken. . or bake an 8" pie.. . or bake a cake. But what it does. . .it does VERY well.

This oven works by infrared light. You can Google to find out exactly how this works, if you want the specifics. Because of this, there is no pre-heating required. The lights will turn on-and-off while the oven is in operation. This can be a little "confusing" when you start to use it, but you'll get used to it.

This oven works WONDERFULLY for the following items:

* Toast using whatever bread you like. . . however thick you like

* Toasting bagels or English muffins

* Heating pastries or croissants

* Baking biscuits (Pillsbury frozen buttermilk biscuits are my favorite)

* Heating frozen appetizers such as breaded cheese sticks, chicken fingers, etc.

* Pizza reheating or baking. Either a small whole pizza or a slice of a large pizza

* Frozen garlic bread

* Cookies

Though the guide says that you can bake cakes and pies in it. . . I've tried, and it didn't work for me. If you're baking small tarts which are perhaps a half-inch thick. . .or a cake where it's no more than ½ inch thick.. .then perhaps you could get it to work. . but again. . . this is not like a "traditional" oven, so I think if you're going to bake such things, then you would be much better off using a "traditional" oven.

It's wonderful that there is no pre-heating. I put frozen biscuits in, and 20-minutes later they are just perfect.

The oven has some preset buttons on the front where you can also choose from "light" (shorter cooking time) to "dark" (longer cooking time). . . or. . . you can choose the temperature and length of cooking you would like, up to 25-minutes.

The pan that comes with the oven is 9-inches square. This is certainly the maximum size for the oven.

You will learn by trial-and-error what works best with this oven. But after having one for around 5-years, I can HIGHLY recommend it. I have never seen a toaster oven which works like this. . .which has pre-set buttons. . .which doesn't require pre-heating. . . . and does such a fantastic job.

It's hard to believe that I get so excited about such an item. . .but this is one of those rare occasions where something just works well. . . REALLY REALLY well.

P.S. If you are not using the preset buttons, this toaster oven has a timer up to 25-minutes. If you press the "up" arrow to increase the time, it goes in 30-second intervals up to ten-minutes, and then it goes by 1-min intervals. If you want to bake something on the "higher-end" of the timer, then use the "down arrow" to start with and it will go from 25-minutes backwards.

Thank goodness this wonderful toaster oven is available again!!! I used the previous version for many happy years. It is a perfect design (small footprint on countertop, easy-to-use controls) and quickly produces great toast and perfectly baked foods! I have missed having this oven, since I dumbly tossed my old one out last year, when it began looking its age. To my great dismay I quickly discovered that the model had been discontinued and I was unable to buy one like it! So, I resorted to trying an expensive KitchenAid toaster oven (Model KCO223CU) which promptly caused me several severe hand, finger, and arm burns (door didn't open fully, etc.); I removed the darn KitchenAid oven from my kitchen and donated it to charity (still feel a little guilty about the poor person who gets it). I've been without a toaster oven for several months, refusing to settle for anything less than my wonderful old Panasonic Flash Xpress! NOW it is AVAILABLE AGAIN!!! Hip hip hooray!!! Special thanks to my husband, who pointed this fact out to me last night, after seeing it in his Oct. Popular Science magazine; all my wailing and complaining about the unavailable Flash Xpress must've seared into his memory (I'm astonished that he recognized the oven -he never cooks). And, thank you Panasonic!!!! I'm 60 years old and I know a great product when I find one! Aloha from Hawaii!

Best Deals on Panasonic NB-G110P Flash Xpress Toaster Oven, Silver

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I hate to harsh people's mellows, I really do, but I also hate trying to find out the cons for a product when it gets almost unanimous praise (I'm sure there is some psychological/societal issue going on with that, but that's a different story), so hopefully I can help others with this.

A few years ago, I went on a toaster research crusade, due to having bought several toaster ovens in as many years, and finally realizing that most of them were just designed to fail within short life spans (IMO).

Even my highly rated and expensive Delonghi, died well before what I expected its life span to be (one year). Finally, I bought the "Cadillac" of toasters, (and I gave it a great review here), the Breville, stainless steel monster (Breville BOV800XL Smart Oven 1800-Watt Convection Toaster Oven with Element IQ) which costs what seems to be a ridiculous price for a toaster (hint you can get them on BIG sales, (or consider using one of those ubiquitous big % off coupons for a certain bed and bath chain *COUGH*), but has more than 1,000 reviews on here, with 4.5 stars. You get what you pay for with toasters? Maybe.

Interestingly, I had looked at this Panny infra-red model before, since my family of 5 are toastaholics, and the idea of "fast toast" really appealed to me for those rushed school mornings. So I was lucky enough to get one for review from Vine, but unfortunately, after a few weeks of regular use, we have gone back to the Breville. As cool as the infra-red tech sounds, and is, this does not make up for the lack of more practical features and design that I believe it lacks.

PROS:

1. Very small footprint, and good aesthetics. If you lack a lot of counter space, this will make you happy, as it's tiny. Looks good on counter as well (nice clean, modern look)

2. Claims of 40% faster toasting seems to be accurate, at least compared to my Breville. It IS truly, VERY fast at both cooking and toasting.

3. I love the fact that the heat is accompanied by almost blinding light, so you can REALLY see your food. Welding goggles sold separately.

4. Price seems about right, if a little high (now I see it has jumped so not as valid when I got the unit)

5. The cool factor (I'm always up for high tech gadgetry) of infrared light for heating.

CONS:

1. Same as the pro (small size), but this was such a big con for me (family of 5), that it made the unit almost worthless. YMMV. It's so small that I couldn't even fit smallish frozen pizzas in there. And you can forget about some of the what I would consider normal sized frozen pizza brands (diGiorno, Tombstone, California Pizza Kitchen). Not gonna fit. I was also used to cooking even large frozen dishes like lasagnas or pasta dishes in the Breville, and you can forget about that with this one. Again, this can be a pro or con for you, depending on your usage. But if you like to use your toaster as an oven like we do, I would look elsewhere.

2. Uneven cooking. This one surprised me. There is a definite heat bias towards the back of the unit (and I think they mention this in the manual even),so that in some cases, you will need to rotate things for even cooking. Big pain, for me, and that right there is a deal breaker. (you don't HAVE to rotate things, of course, but you will have quite varying degrees of doneness from food in the front vs food in back)

3. Learning curve. Didn't expect this either, but it also ties into the whole "this thing is cool, but kind of a pain!" mentality I have regarding the toaster. You can forget about looking at the back of the box of frozen food for indications on what temp and time settings to use. Due to the faster cooking, and I think the way it cooks, it's almost like there are no directions for you to go by, except your own trial and error. I have burned many a frozen thing, (while inside was still cold), and I have had cases where I had to "reheat" something multiple times because what I thought was done, needed more cooking. You will probably get used to the non-standard calibration over time, but do you really want to have to come up with custom settings, and maybe more importantly LEARN the appropriate setting for every new thing you cook? Blegh.

4. My biggest hope for this was spectacular toast. If it could have done that, I might have considered keeping it just for that reason, and going back to using the regular oven for larger items. Nooooo! Due to the lack of an adjustable height rack (!?!), Every time I toasted something, the bottom (which you can't see, obviously), gets many times darker than the top, and it should be the opposite, IMO, if only for the fact that you can visually inspect to see if your toast is burning or not. This killed me, and is unfortunate, especially if you are a pre-butterer like I am (something the manual states you SHOULD NOT do since it might catch fire!) Rebel, and noted cynic that I am, I DID pre-butter, and had no problems (and IMO you want the buttered side to be the more toasted, not the opposite, and I did not want to toast buttered side down, so you see my dilemma!) :D

I could go on, and I fully realize that a lot of people have and do disagree with the above points (look at the reviews!), but that's the way I see it this is a flawed toaster oven, that does neither toasting, nor ovening well compared to the better conventional tech toaster ovens out there. I REALLY wanted to like it, and was like a kid at Christmas when I opened it and tried it out, but it just fails in too many categories for us to continue to use it.

I can see it being good for single people, or couples that don't eat frozen pizzas, or toast, and people with very little counter space, but again, not my profile, so for me, it was an unfortunate bust. Please note that current prices of the Panny vs. the Breville are not comparable, as the MSRP of the Breville is about double I think, BUT you can get it for MUCH cheaper than that. MUCH (not as cheaply as this unit at it's highest, but close enough to not make a huge difference)

To end on a positive note, if they made a larger model with adjustable height racks, I would be all over it, since that would solve my biggest two complaints.

Honest reviews on Panasonic NB-G110P Flash Xpress Toaster Oven, Silver

In short: these guys thought of everything you could want in a toaster, and made it reliably for a great price.

Also, as far as I can tell, they pioneered the market for infrared toaster ovens for 7 YEARS before anyone else.

If you aren't familiar with infrared toasters, basically it means fast even cooking and no more burnt smelling food after cheese drips or something. It burns differently and it stops smelling quickly.

Cleaning is EASY. The front pullout tray is awesome, I can clean it up in seconds. I can also pull out the grill quick and put it back in.

The only minor negative is that I sometimes want to adjust the time while it is cooking, and it doesnt allow that. You can only adjust cook time at the beginning. Not a big deal though.

Before this toaster, I had tried 2 or 3 that were garbage, they had the traditional timers that never worked or cooked consistently. I had to check constantly to see when something would be magically "done".

My family uses this toaster every day (or close) for the past 5 or 6 years and it still works. It has been dropped, burnt (it was next to the stovetop), and generally manhandled. I am actually surprised it survived this long. I used to look on craigslist for the toaster for a few years when I thought "this should have died by now" because it wasn't on the market anymore and it would completely stink to use anything else.

I'm happy to see you can still get this again. If you want a toaster and can affort spending $100 or so, this is a no-brainer. This model has been THE top rated toaster on amazon for years, literally. It is the Michael Jordan or Wayne Gretzky of toasters.

To be fair, I might consider the newer infrared Breville's if I was looking at the moment, but it is hard to ignore the Panasonic reliability and simple reality this is a beautiful product across the board.

PS: To Panasonic, why the heck did you stop selling this? I had over 7 people complain to me they tried to buy one EVERYWHERE. People offered to buy mine. You could have jacked the price up an $50 and still sold a ton of them.

I bought my first Panasonic Flash Express toaster about 15 years ago after I saw it in a Popular Science magazine that I must have seen in a doctor's office or bookstore because I haven't been a subscriber in decades. Since then I needed another just months after they stopped importing them. Prices on the dwindling stock reached $250+ for a toaster that sold for $99.95 on Amazon. Eventually I bought a slightly used one for our garage apartment which eventually was brought downstairs when the original unit finally declared "toasted". Speed forward several years (imagine the clock hands spinning like in the movies) and I'm thumbing through the Popular Science today at the grocery store and go the the "What's New" section THE PANASONIC FLASH EXPRESS IS BACK!!! Could tell that the button labels were slightly different but everything else was the same. Thought it might be a cruel trick by Panasonic but this listing does give hope that there might be more in the pipeline. Panasonic and Amazon better get prepared to sell a bunch. Go to the original Flash Express listing and look at the hundreds of reviews and the associated dates. Many if not most of those folk are ready for a new toaster. Many of their friends who had been repeatedly subjected praise for a no longer available household appliance may decide to give it a try and see what these legions of toaster aficionados see in a piece of electrified sheet metal. If Amazon was smart (and they are) they would send a note to previous Flash Express owners and let them know it is available again. Expecting them to see it in Popular Science is a one in a million shot. Not.

The previous model was introduced before social media existed. As soon as it has its own Facebook page and Tweeter hashtag sales of this toaster alone may be able to lift the currently miserable fortunes of Panasonic.

Welcome back. My order is in.

We live in an old farmhouse with high ceilings that is very drafty downstairs. We heat primarily with our wood stove which does an average job, however the wood floors can be quite cold.I was looking for something to circulate the heat more efficiently. This fan is just what my cold feet needed,I am very pleased with the design and this thing is built like a tank!My husband is going to do some temperature measurements over the weekend to see how effective it is (yes he is a geek)Having owned an Ecofan in the past I can tell you this is worth paying a little more.I will update later...

Man is this thing well built, truly like a tank as another review stated... something this robust is very rare these days. I expect it may outlast my woodstove. But beyond it's unusual robustness, it also works and it is incredibly silent. I've used it for the past 3 years on my new woodstove insert. My prior woodstove insert included an integrated fan which was incredibly noisy and unreliable. I definitely wanted to steer clear of an integrated 120V fan and I can get away without one (the ceiling fan helps), but this thermoelectric fan does help spread some heat to the lower areas around the woodstove when I first fire it up. And if lose power in my home in the winter, this fan becomes the only means to help spread the heat.

One thing to note... this fan directs air to flow opposite it's natural flow. So, while the hot air naturally rises from the woodstove, this fan pulls air from the top and blows it down or actually angled down somewhat and to the sides. I wonder if this fan could be redesigned (with the same technology and robustness) to flow air from bottom to top (like a normal woodstove fan works) and if this would be better. It probably gets complicated and depends on a lot of things. I am pretty sure however that the fan as is does help the lower area around the stove feel warmer when the stove is first fired up (before the entire room is heated up).

I sent my ecofan original back and got this for my 10,000 btu Sengoku OR77 Omni Radiant Kerosene Heater running at 275*F and it does a great job sending the hot air angling downward all around it. I also tried it on my 23,000 btu dynaglo in the basement running at 350*F and since it's only a half-inch bigger around than the heater, the air went out mostly horizontally but even faster and no hot air was detectable above either heater. The seller isn't very eager to provide info here but you can search the web for pics and specs (and prices). It's a lot bigger and heavier than the ecofan but much more effective and robust and it's not that much more expensive than the heavily taxed canadian product so it's really a bargain.
