I purchased this DeLonghi PAC A120E a year ago when my wife and I needed a stand up air conditioner unit. I should have read the reviews here because it started leaking water all over our carpet and hardwood floor. This unit has been in operation for 3 months and it has broken down and has ruined a 150 dollar carpet. I have tried to contact the customer service for DeLonghi but it is useless. The nearest service center is 75 miles away from my house and is NOT open on weekends. The company does not pay for shipping or send a technician out. DeLonghi is unwilling to help or provide any kind assistance in this matter. Why should they? They already got paid. Our local repair shop will not touch these units and will cost about 200 dollars to replace the part. Please keep in mind this unit is still in warrantee. We are left with a VERY EXPENSIVE PIECE OF JUNK (a 700 dollar piece of junk). They say it is NOT their policy to ship or pay for shipping to their service center. Its a great scam. If I could give this product a negative number I would. SAVE YOUR MONEY. I will NEVER buy a DeLonghi product again. I just want to reiterate what an absolute inconvienece this is. It is the hottest week of the summer and my thermostat has reached 93 in my living room. So, thanks DeLonghi for that. I'm sweating as I type this and I bet your CEO is sitting somewhere very cool and perspiration free.

PS. I am not exaggerating and have not had any previous problems with DeLonghi, but they have been awful to deal with.

This unit does the job advertised, I will admit that. It does cool a room very well. In fact, it keeps the back half of our house nice and cool.

The downside is that it leaks like crazy. Even with the dehumidifier off. And I live in El Paso, not exactly a humid area of the country.

The problem seems to mostly stem from the fact that unlike most similar units, the internal tank is not removeable. This means you can not drain the water off before it overflows the tank.

To make it worse, there is a drain hole in the rear of the unit. But hooking up a hose does not good. It seems it is only made to drain the unit at the end of the season, not for routine use. This places it to high in the tank to actually drain.

We are seeing roughly a gallon of water a day leaking from this unit. I just wish I had looked here before I bought it.

Yes this unit leaks like crazy.

Here's the problem (and a solution). There are two reservoirs in which water is stored, an upper and a lower. The lower reservoir has an auto-shutoff if the water level gets too high the AC unit shuts off so it doesn't overflow. Water is supposed to trickle down from the upper reservoir to the lower. The upper reservoir has no auto-shutoff. Here's the problem dust collects in the upper reservoir preventing water from moving to the lower reservoir. When this happens the water has no place to go so it causes the unit to leak onto the ground.

Here's a solution to the problem that I found helps. Turn off the unit and unplug it. When facing the front of the unit remove the left side panel (there are about 6 screws that need to be removed and then the panel slides off). Inside the unit on the left side you will see a small white tray with a hole in the middle this is the upper reservoir. Dust is collecting in that small hole. Using a hand vacuum and a drinking straw can remove a lot of the dirt. Tape the straw so the vac only sucks through the straw like an vacuum attachment. Then just vacuum in the hole and hope that it gets most of the dust. You may need to do this every couple of weeks as dust builds.

We are on our second Pinguino after our first machine leaked on our carpet. We returned the unit now the second machine leaks aproximately 4 pints of water a day. Delonghi know they are selling a defective product. When you call customer service there is a promt for Penguinuo air conditioners!

They refuse to do anything about replacing this unit at no cost to me.

As posted under some one else's review. As you're facing the unit's front, remove the left panel by removing the two screws under the handle and the four screws covered with caps, then pull down on the panel and it should come off:

As my unit started to leak as well, I came here looking for solutions. I'm certain that this is the issue. When I opened the side panel, with a flash light, I could see that this small hole inside the white plastic "cup" was filled with dust and Pug hair (we have 2). So I took a pick and was able to clean out was clumped up and removed the rest with the straw and vacuum method. From my estimation, this accumulated over about 5 months of on and off use over a period of about a year and a half. Also, I vacuumed up the side radiator, as it also had accumulated dust and hair.

I've got it running now and I'll report back if this indeed fixed the problem. I will also try to take pictures.

Update Its fixed, ran for several hours, no leaks. Take a look at the video I posted, it was for sure the clogged hole causing the issue. Also, not sure how much the bottom tank holds, but at least it will turn off automatically when that tank gets full. Hope this helps everyone out. Hate to see people think they're wasting their money.

Use caution. I take ZERO responsibility if you damage your unit.

I did a lot of research before ordering this particular unit. I was very pleased at how quickly it was shipped and the condition it was in. It took just under three hours to assemble with the heating unit packaged in one piece. All you have to do is put it in the unit. The shelf part has two openings for the cords, one opening for cords going up to the television and one going down to the electrical outlet. The actual fire is very easy to watch and the temperature and heat settings are adjustable, both on the unit and with the enclosed remote control. An added bonus is a marker the same color as the unit to cover any scratches.

All in all, this has been a great addition to our living area.

I am very impressed with this entertainment center. It arrived on time, had easy-to-follow directions for assembly, and looks beautiful. The finished is very nice and the wood pieces fit together perfectly to give it a very professional appearance. The flames look very realistic and the heater definitely helps to warm our room. Plenty of space for all of my electronic accessories.

I have a VERY small living room and didn't have a lot of space for my entertainment stuff. This looks wonderful and has a very small footprint. I have a 42" TV on it and I wouldn't recommend it for anything larger than that..I didn't have any trouble putting it together. There was one part on the front that didn't line up flush but it's the same way on the opposite side so I think it may have been a bad idea rather than a defect. However, it's not the sort of thing anyone would notice.

This unit is supposed to be able to cool 550 sq ft but can't get my ~450 sq ft space down past 75, even at night when everything has cooled down outside! I'd be better off opening my window and putting the fan back in. Needless to say I am returning this and digging my old, heavy window air conditioner out of storage that actually works.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

The unit came in and the packaging was not damaged, however, the exhaust piece that goes in the window was already broken. Apparently from the factory. That was the least of the problems come to find out.

I get home and hear a noise that sounds as if a chainsaw is battling a garbage disposal in the house. I ask the girlfriend what that noise is, but she can't hear me becasue the noise is that loud. It was ridiculous. The air coming from the unit was cold, but the noise was unbearable. There is no possible way people could use this machine at night while attempting to sleep without using earplugs.

We already have a LG portable air conditioner and it sounds like a baby sleeping compared to the Honeywell unit.

To find out if the machine was supposed to make that racket, I emailed the company and have yet to hear anything back.

I rarely return anything, chalking most bad purchases up to a learning experience, however, this machine is no bueno.

Didn't cool well at all! Tried it for 3 days, finally around 2am it would get down to 76 degrees, but then as the day got hotter, so did the room, during the day, it would only cool to 85! Very disappointed, read reviews before I bought and they all seemed positive, even spoke with Honeywell wondering if I had a lemon, they said very unlikely, so I returned it.

Honest reviews on Honeywell MM14CHCS 14,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Heat

I've had this a/c unit since may-2013, it is almost august-2013.

I don't usually review stuff but, I feel this a/c is getting unfairly treated.

the first day I had that same problem with water getting everywhere, I wasn't sure why there was so much especially when most of the water was supposed to be vented out in the exhaust supposedly. Second I had the problem with the temperature not really going below a certain temperature.

So, after messing with the control's, and failing. I decided to consult the manual, it told me that all I had to do was make sure it was on the little ice icon, not on the one it was originally defaulted to. I honestly thought this was the correct setting in the first place, but I guess I never gave it chance. This solved both my temperature issue and my water issue. I don't have to put any kind of drain on my a/c and at night it has easily hit 72 ( had it set on 71). It also says that on the fan setting it acts like a dehumidifier and that is when the reservoir fill and that is when you need to add your little drain pipe(this was the setting it was set on). I forget there is like two more settings.

There is one other thing with this a/c and pretty much all other portables that I've seen, even though they vent out most of the moisture, some times depending on how humid it gets you might need to empty out the top reservoir( I think there is some warning that lets you know though). This has never happened to me and I live in Houston, Texas it is extremely humid, with average humidity levels sitting around 78 and above and temperature that have hit 104 degrees F.

Last thing about portable a/c's is on average they cool about 100 sqft. less than window units(as per btu). ( like a 14000 btu window unit will cool about 550 sqft. so a 14000 btu portable unit will cool 450 sqft.) so when you going to buy a portable unit keep that in mind.

Ok so this air conditioner... heard a lot of bad things about it. This was AFTER we bought it, and then right when we got it 2 days later we started seeing bad reviews on it. Now then onto the review. First day owning this we had some problems. First of all, it is true that it wouldn't go past 75 degrees. (we waited for like 3 hours and it was still stuck at 75.)HOWEVER we had a stroke of genious. We put a small square board under the AC,and within 2 hours it was down to almost 70 degrees from 80 HUGE improvement. Second of all we did have a problem with water leaking everywhere... HOWEVER this also had a simple solution my father took out a black cap in the lower back of the AC and placed a tube in it to vent the water. water goes into a jug... PROBLEM SOLVED no water leaking all over the wooden board. There is VERY little water in the jug (infact checking it now there is NO water anywhere in the jug, on the carpet, OR on the board. I say if your having problems with it and you have a carpet floor get a square board, and place the board under the AC. You'll see an improvement in your AC cooling productivity. I hope this helped many of you with the same problem we have.

I do like the heat that these little guys put out, but the controls leave a lot to be desired.

This thing has two settings: hot & sweltering hot. It has a dial control and it is supposed to find a temperatur setting that it will maintain by automatically turning on and off -but the 10:00 position never comes on, and the 1:00 position never shuts off.

I assumed that the other switch is an on/off switch, but it is actually low-heat/high-heat. I feel little difference between the two, and feel that the thermostat dial give plenty of control.

Not having an on/off switch means you can only truly turn the unit off by unplugging it. I use this in my office at work, which means two things -I definitely want to shut it off at night, and it is not easy to constantly plug and unplug. I have had to add an otherwise unneeded power strip just to have the ability to cut power via a switch.

This switch would make it a strong 4 out of 5 stars.

Because the heat lamp concept is not common in bathrooms, and most of the reviews were a bit vague, I was ambivalent about the purchase. After installing and using one, here is what I know.

The bathroom is of typical size; 7 by 9 feet including the shower, and an 8 foot ceiling. If your ceilings are high, you will not want this product. You immediately feel the difference in warmth from waist to head height. You will want the lamp positioned over your chilliest spot. The heat diminishes quickly stepping side to side. It will not heat your bathroom. It is not meant to be installed in the shower, or over a tub.

Like ceiling fans, the installation is not easy, especially with low pitch roofs. Crawling around in an attic, avoiding falling between the joists, is never fun. This is not an insulated enclosure, so you will have to make provisions to hold the insulation back 3 inches. As always, installing it in new construction is far easier. If you are remodeling the room, this is the time to get one.

Install a timer switch with it. At 250 watts, you will not want to forget to turn this off. I have not touched the inner enclosure to see how hot it gets, and I am not willing to test its limits. Use it when you are there, and then TURN IT OFF.

My two regrets; first, that I was not able to install it in front of the shower. That would be ideal. Second, that I did not go with the two bulb version. I believe the difference would be significant. This is not like walking into a toasty room. The effect of the bulb is immediate, and localized. Plan accordingly.

FYI: a decision will have to be made as to what version of bulb to get. According to Osram Sylvania, the red, clear, and frosted bulbs, create the same amount of heat. However, the clear and frosted bulbs put out considerably more lumens of visible light than the red. Red is often chosen to remind people that the lamp is on.

Product arrived on time and use was flawless works as supposed to, not very fancy but fulfill the requirements: warm the bathroom.

We were unable to use the heater once we read the installation instructions. It can not be put into any ceilings with insulation. You have to purchase the fan with the blower attached, and we don't want a blower attached, because we spent a lot of money on a super quiet fan for our bathroom, and did not want to add a noisy blower. We wanted to return it, but the shipping charges to return the product were more than $30, so we are stuck with it.

Honest reviews on Broan 161 Infrared Single-Bulb 250-Watt Heater

I cannot feel any heat from this heater when standing on the floor. When standing on a step ladder, I do feel heat up to about two feet away from the bulb. This certainly does not help keep me warm after my shower! I read all reviews before ordering, and felt confident that this infrared heater would meet my needs. I am most disappointed. FYI: My heater was professionally installed during bathroom remodel.

The only drawback, if you can call it that, is that the bulb, although screwed in fully, juts past the assembly a bit. We decided to let it go as it works well. It is only a minor cosmetic issue and actually the photo indicates it is not entirely flush with the assembly unit. The entire unit works well and is a nice added feature to our new bathroom.

This heater was purchased to replace a ProCom blue flame heater for a very small bathroom in an off-grid cabin. The previous heater did a great job for several years, and when it needed replacement parts, we decided to try the more efficient and safer version. It heats instantly and thoroughly in the 10/10 foot room. The low O2 safety switch works. We plugged the gap under the door, and after about twenty minutes it clicked off on it's own, which is an important factor for me. My only negative comment is that I miss the therostatic control we had on the other one. If that is important to you, I think the next model up has one.

This little heater does a good job of heating our newly renovated bathroom with 12ft.ceiling.. There is no central heating system in this old house in New Orleans, and we rely on gas heaters to warm the house in the cold months. This heater is pretty, easy to light, and warns the space quickly. I am completely satisfied with. this order. I forgot to mention that I found the best price and the color I was looking for on Amazon.com. Local stores were selling 6,000 btu gas heaters for over $100.00 and only in beige.

I bought this product in an attempt to replace a fireplace. The fireplace was worn out and the replacement cost was 10k which I wasn't going to pay. this product appeared to be a decent replacement for the wall and would throw a little heat. But product flaws resulted in a product return.

Pros: The flame looks really good. It has that fire mesmerizing effect. You can stare at it a long time and it keeps your attention. It isn't burning wood but I think it's better looking than gas.

Cons: In my opinion, in order to look good you need to mount it IN the wall at least partially as it is shown in the Yosemite videos on Youtube and that's where the trouble starts. If you mount it ON the wall as the skimpy manual describes, the front just hangs in space 6 inches from the wall and looks kinda weird. I didn't like that look. Maybe it would be ok on a far wall or a recessed wall area but in my room the fireplace is on an exterior wall that also contains the entrance door. I don't want to be able to see the ugly metal box behind the front every time I enter the house.

But mounting it IN the wall appears dangerous to me because the heat is sourced from vents in the bottom. I can't figure out how to mount it in the wall in a safe way to allow the hot air to circulate through the unit. I suppose you could mount it in a sheet rock lined enclosure bigger than the box and mostly covered by the face plate but without any guidance in the manual on this, I'm worried that I would be creating a fire hazard.

The bottom vent is open, the heating element appears to be accessible, and seems that a young child could stick their hand up and burn themselves pretty easily if you mounted it on the wall as required 50cm off the floor.

The controls on the box are on the side which is another problem if you want to attempt a flush mount. The remote worked 50% of the time and I couldn't figure out where the receptor was to get it to work more consistently.

If you are tempted to put it in just for looks and flush mount it, beware, because the controls are on the side you are only going to have the remote to control it, and since you can't disable the heater, you might press the wrong button on the remote and turn on the heater while it is embedded in the wall. There is no visual indication of the heater setting except on the side mounted control so the first indication that you made a mistake might be smoke from your house burning down.

Bottom line(s): Look at the photos that show it mounted on the wall and decide if you can tolerate that look before you buy. Do not be confused by the "insert" Yosemite fireplaces shown in the video. If you have young children I wouldn't purchase this unit due to the bottom vent design.

Nice flames, good modern look, quick shopping and it even has sound. I am very happy with this purchase. The only downside is it must be mounted on the wall not in it because of the location of the buttons. Still looks good.

Cons:

Comments: My house is not well insulated. I have 20' ceilings downstairs, where I spend most of my evenings, and high ceilings in my upstairs office. Running the furnace during these cold winter days does little to make me feel warm and most space heaters feel too puny trying to heat such large spaces. What I needed at is known as a parabolic dish reflector heater. Despite some overly-zealous descriptions, these heaters are not space-age technology. My great-grandmother had a parabolic dish reflector heater more than 60 years ago. Due to Costco's active in-store displays every year, Presto seems to be by far the #1 model. The selling price has risen to a ridiculous 70 100 dollars for something that must only have about 5 bucks of materials in it. After reading many reviews (see rebuttals below), I decided this was the right choice despite several logical negatives.

Pros: It works. The night before I bought it I shivered and was cold to the bone. As soon as I set it up the two of us sitting about 7' apart in front of the TV felt a comfortable warmth. I stress the word comfortable. Neither too hot nor too cold. If either of us moved a few feet out of the "zone" we immediately noticed we were much colder. This is exactly how parabolic dish heaters work ... they focus ALL of their energy into a relatively narrow cone of heat directed at the people who need to be heated. They are NOT intended to heat entire rooms or houses. Perfect for a small group of people and/or pets sitting in front of a TV (think fireplace, the effect is very similar) or someone working at a desk. At this the Presto (and likely other similar brands) absolutely excel. What makes the Presto different from some of the other brands is that it uses a very traditional heater coil like in an old-fashioned toaster. It is exactly the same technology my great-grandmother's heater used back in the 1950's. Some other models use a halogen bulb like a desk lamp. They are blinding to look at and the bulb burns out every few months. The Presto's coils produce only a soft reddish glow.

Cons: It does not tilt up and down. I can live with it not oscillating from side to side, but the fixed angle is just plain wrong and can't be changed. fixed angle seems to defeat the idea of a focused cone of heat. I think only a 10 percent range would be far better than none at all. The next item is one that confounds almost everyone ... why put a nightlight into the base of a space heater? It simply does not make sense. You can take the bulb out, which many people say they do, but why is it there in the first place? The heater is also just a bit too lightweight. As a heater with the potential of tipping over you would think it would weigh at least as much as a table fan. Presto totally missed the boat on this, thinking for some reason that a very LOUD buzzer if the unit is tipped would be a better idea. Some people hate the buzzer. Personally I think I would rather have it annoy me than start a fire, but a better base design would also not be so bad.

Rebuttals: It seems the #1 complaint is that the Presto Heat Dish does not heat their entire room (or house). This is NOT a whole-house or whole-room heater. It is a specialized heater that is designed and intended to focus an intense amount of heat in a very pinpointed direction and the lowest possible energy use. It will also cause a rise in overall room temperature, but that is NOT the intent or design of a parabolic dish reflector heater. Used properly, this type of heater is nothing short of amazing. Why heat the WHOLE room (like my 20' ceilinged living room) when we are sitting in a small area in front of the TV? As far as the night-light, I agree Presto is totally weird in that area but if you hate it, pull the bulb out and enjoy the heat. The manufacturer states in the instructions that you can replace the bulb with a standard Christmas tree bulb. A dark blue bulb actually looks quite attractive. Another negative comment I have seen is that the unit does not have a carrying handle. Reality is that the carrying handle is the thing on the back that is labeled "carrying handle" and clearly pointed out in the instruction manual as a carrying handle. Other review errors state that it points upward at a 60 degree angle. It really points upward at about 15 degrees, about right for someone sitting in a normal chair.

Summary: It rates a fairly solid 5 despite the fact that the first one I bought had a thermostat knob that did absolutely nothing. No matter where I set it, the thing operated continuously on high. Even if I turned it off, the heater was still on non-stop on high. An obvious defect (what are the chances?). I cringe when I read reviewers that say they got a lemon and will NEVER buy anything from that manufacturer. I can't believe a major brand name is junk just because of one bad apple. Update: The unit was instantly replaced and the new one's thermostat works as it should.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

"Point Anywhere" is very misleading. As-sold unit MUST be placed in a low spot below the "target". It is ONLY capable of heating at 60 degree angle upward. It is too light to be stable, way too easy to knock over. I think out of the box it is unsafe. I have made modifications to mine.

I see this thing in BJ's and Costco all the time, mounted up high on a shelf pointed down, and the kiosk says "Directional Heat! Point Instant Heat Anywhere You Want It!"

So you open up the box and right there in the WARNING is Do not mount on shelf. Do not point downward. Which is exactly what the Presto demo stands do in the store..? They mount the heater on a high shelf and point it down at the customers. Do you think it would be wise to put this on the floor in the store the way it MUST be used at home? You would think that was unsafe, kids would mess with it, people would inevitably trip over it or kick it over.. So the Presto demonstration display disables the safety shutoff switch and does exactly what the instructions say not to do, mounting it high, pointing it down. You'd think that might be one way of using it, since it says "Point Anywhere". False advertising?

The unit HAS to go below you pointed up. Pretty much that means it has to be on the floor. Instructions also say do not use near dogs, cats, children, curtains, furniture etc.. In other words, do not use in typical household environment. Our dog knocked it over frequently because it's just stupid-easy to knock over. Imagine a large standard 3-speed desk fan, only you can just ever so lightly bump into it and it topples over. It's featherlight, unevenly proportioned and topheavy, a trip hazard, and has no base weight AT ALL to stabilize it.

I bought this to warm my dad while he sits at his computer or watches television, intending to place it safely on a clear bureau or dresser to provide ambient heat. Best I can do now is stick it on the floor and bake the tops of his knees. As it was out of the box in our case, it was useless.

There is a large spring-loaded switch under the base, it's easily bypassed. You can do it with scotch tape. NOT RECOMMENDED, but this allows you to point it "anywhere" including a down-angle as the in-store demo clearly does. I built an angled wooden platform, put a brick inside it to add weight, and screwed the heater down. Now I can aim it where I want, and it doesn't fall over. Problem solved.

Aside from the fact you can't really aim it where you want it, it does everything else you'd expect it to. Doesn't get too hot to the touch, provides EXCELLENT heat in the target zone, and saves you a lot of money by quickly and consistently heating a particular spot rather than trying to heat an entire area. Just don't trip over it.

Best Deals on Presto HeatDish - Parabolic Electric Heater

I've been having this product for almost 2 years now. It was designed to direct heat to a small area. Unfortunately I did not find the HeatDish a good heater even for keeping a single person warm. If you direct it towards you, you'll be burning so much, even through your clothing, that it actually hurts. You move just a bit farther, and you'll feel very little warm sensation. What usually happens is that one side of mine is burning, while my other side is totally cold.

The heat coming out of this HeatDish is very focused to a small area. You will instantly start feeling the heat, in fact so much heat that it literally burns you. At the same time, other areas of the room will remain cold for a long time. Since the HeatDish doesn't have a fan, it absolutely doesn't help evenly distributing the heat. If you need to heat the entire room, you should be able to find a much better heater, one that oscillates (rotates the heating grille) and uses a fan.

The HeatDish is entirely silent while it's on. However, it has a fairly loud rattling noise when it turns on -and in the low setting, it does turn on and off every 15 seconds or so. It is a bit hard to sleep hearing the heater clicking. It's very bright, too: The entire parabola dish lights up, making the room as bright as daylight. I occasionally need a heater that can keep my bedroom warm for the night, for the case the central heater goes wrong, and this is not the right equipment for that.

There's no way of setting the temperature with the HeatDish. You can adjust its power from low to high, but it has little to do with keeping a preset temperature, even approximately. In most cases it's too hot in the evening and very cold by the morning. If there's no one to occasionally adjust the temperature, it will not be very comfortable. For example, it doesn't work well for me as a night-time heater. It doesn't have a timer either.

My HeatDish went wrong after less than 2 years of very occasional use (I normally use central heating, a gas furnace). It no longer turns off, it always heats at its maximum power, so I can no longer leave it alone. You should not draw any conclusions from this -things go wrong sometimes. When it was working, it was regulating the temperature by periodically turning the ceramic element on and off. When it's on, it is very, very hot. There was never a way to lower the actual power of the heating element.

Safety: If the HeatDish is not entirely horizontal, it instantly makes an exceptionally loud alarming sound. You can not possibly tip it over without noticing it. In fact, it is nearly impossible to move this heater around while it's on without sounding its alarm.

Verdict: If you need an instant heater that makes a tiny area of the room super hot in no time, it does the job. It does a dissatisfying job at distributing the heat, even to a small area like a sofa, or automatically keeping a preset temperature.

Honest reviews on Presto HeatDish - Parabolic Electric Heater

I bought the Presto heatdish because my house furnace has a issue and one side of the house is not working. I have a few larger portable heaters but they just dont do a good job, even the ones with a fan don't put out the heat you would expect out of a 1,500 watt heater. The Presto is great, heat is instant, covers a large area(approx 8 foot wide by 15 foot). I am sitting currently 15 feet away and can feel the heat, I don't have my house furnace on now and it is 30 degrees outside and I am very comfortable and area I am in is probably 70 degrees or more using just this heater. I have it in a corner of my living room(is 20x20) and works perfect letting you sit far enough away to get the wide area heat and not overheat. I do have to watch my dog, she tries to lay right in front of it and worries me since it does get very intense close to the heater. It is very lightweight and at first I didn't think it was in the box, I'd say it weights under a pound. It had the light which I have no use for, but would make a great thing to use outside if you have a motorhome and want to keep the chill off and have a light at the same time. Overall it is a great product, instant heat and uses slot less power than normal portable heaters.

The Presto HeatDish does exactly as described. My observations are:

1) The heat is very strong and directional.

2) Great if you and your significant other are opposites. My heatdish is directed at my wife while I prefer cooler temperatures.

3) The nightlight cannot be turned off. You must remove the bulb if you don't want it on.

4) The heat dish does not have a carrying handle on the back if you want to move it.

5) The heat dish is in a fixed position so you have to set it in the exact position to direct the heat where you want it. It would have been very nice if it could tilt up and down.

6) This does not have an "OFF" switch. To turn it off, you have to unplug it.

I bought this heater over 2 years ago, have used it on a regular basis since day one, and it's still going strong. My apartment is pretty cold and the only other heat source I have is electric baseboard, which is WAY too expensive to use, so this little heater is my main source of warmth. I love it and would recommend it to anyone!

I was disappointed with the quality of this heater, it produced very little forced air and did not heat the room that way I hoped. Not usually typical with Delonghi products to not be efficient.

Save your money... this heater is NOT safe at all. It actually gets very hot to the touch, emits some type of chemical smell when first used, and did not warm my living room at all. To top it all, the quality of this heater is very poor. I returned it and bought a Vornado whole-room vortex heater-which stays cool AND heats the entire living room perfectly (for the same price).

Honest reviews on DeLonghi HS15F Safe Heat Convection Heater

Have this unit for past 2 yrs and it works perfectly. I heats up my bedroom which is approx 350sqft in about 30 mins. If I have the dual heat setting, the room gets heated up within an hour.

If you are looking for perfect heater for a bedroom or any other room then this unit will be sufficient. I also save on electric bills as I do not run the central air when I am using this.

Unit arrived couple of days ago and the box was taped around the seams, which wasn't a concern but opening today the unit was used. The plastic bag containing leg stand and screws was already torn open and had masking tape to keep closed. Screws were missing and looking at the unit very apparent it was used!! I've purchased many, many items from Amazon and can't believe they would sell a USED item as brand new!! What a shame or should I call them a sham!

Review of Candle Warmers Etc. Ceramic Candle Warmer Crock

Candle Warmers Etc. Ceramic Candle Warmer Crock, Rustic Brown

I purchased this because I was trying to go flame-less with my large-jar Yankee candles and do so quicker than standard warming plates, which take quite a while to melt such a candle. Well, this fit the bill alright. Within 15 minutes you can smell the candle wonderfully. A short while later, the whole jar is liquid. All that is great, but...

The very thing I wanted, speedy flame-less fragrance for an extended period of time, is also the main downside. It activates *all* the fragrance in the candle at all times. So, what you get is a strong fragrance for a much shorter period of time. Whereas a large jar Yankee candle will last a good 125+ hours, I got about 15 (yes, fifteen) hours of strong fragrance, which quickly declined thereafter until all I had was a jar of wax.

Since there's no temperature control, there's no way to prolong the candle life. After two candles, I no longer use the warmer. I gave it three stars because it does exactly what it claims and is definitely a great candle warmer. I suppose I should have foreseen the outcome as, in hindsight, it is clear that a full jar warmer would heat the entire contents at all times.

Two parting notes:

1) This would be great for using every last ounce of candle. The remnants that don't get burned via wick could be used in the warmer, but a little overkill.

2) Once you melt a candle in the warmer, the wick drops to the bottom when liquefied. Thus, it's a one-way road as you won't be able to burn the candle again.

Hope this helps.

I've had this warmer for about 6 months now, keeping it on almost 24/7, and it is still working great! I do recommend buying a bunch of Yankee votives (you can get them for $1 if you buy on sale) and I change out my votive daily. Whatever candle you put in the warmer will scent your home for a good 15-18 hours straight, whether it's a votive or larger jar candle. Votives are cheaper and you can change your scent daily (a big jar will still only last about 18 hours in this warmer) The warmer melts quickly, and starts releasing fragrance in about 3-5minutes (with a votive) I have a total of 2 in my home, we have an open floor plan and I put one in my living area, and one on my second floor It comfortably fragrances my whole home (I can even smell in the bathrooms) Just a note though: I tried putting in cheaper brand of votive, and soy votives the fragrance was a LOT more subtle and it only lasted about 6 hours.

UPDATE a year later and my warmers are still going strong on almost daily 24/7 :)

This is a little different way to make your room smell nice without having to light a candle. This warmer works best with the large candles, but even after many uses, the candle is still up to the top and it still smells very good. Each candle will last much longer than if you were burning the candle. There is no fear of a fire and no black soot on the ceiling or under the cabinets.

Honest reviews on Candle Warmers Etc. Ceramic Candle Warmer Crock

I purchased this warmer for a blind friend who loves her home filled with scents. The rolling "on-off" switch just a few inches down on the cord from the actual burner was a good feature for her. The unit seemed to heat up very quickly.

One of the major candle stores said they did NOT suggest this product because they've heard that the units get so hot that the jars surrounding the candles cracked. They further stated that the breaking occurs because even though the candle glass is tempered, they were designed to heat up from the center of the candle outward...so when we try to use these warmers there could be issues.

What I first did upon feeling the amount of heat generated was to roll up a square of tin foil to make a long curled snake to put under the candle jar so it wasn't in direct contact with the heater; still plenty of heat to melt the wax and give off the scent but not enough heat to crack the jar. There was a tiny space between the jar and the sides and I wasn't too concerned about too much hear from direct contact... So far so good, the true test of time will tell all.

Been looking for just the right candle warmer for a long time. This one is perfect for my preferences, which was a crock-pot style big enough to hold larger jar candles and didn't have a light in the base. Even when the melted wax has lost its scent, just add any liquid 'essence' and keep going. Hoping the warmer will last a long time.

This works great for warming the lotion for a baby after a bath, and is easy to use. The lotion is warm, but not hot. You will need to fill the dispenser from your normal lotion bottle and the dispenser plugs into an outlet.

Good overall. Needs more sensitive control for temperature setting. Shutoff is nice feature. Should have heavier base.

I owned the other conair lotion dispenser for a couple of years and I dropped it and it broke. So I was happy to find this newer model! It's awesome being able to adjust the temperature of the lotion and if your lotion is thick, it will thin it out and make it silky warm! Great being able to apply warm lotion on your body especially during the cold weather! (-:

Honest reviews on Conair HLD31 Heated Lotion Dispenser

The intructions don't tell you how to prime the pump. I was about to send it back when I tried using water first, then transferring the pump to the lotion. After expelling the water the lotion then flowed freely. The biggest complaint I have for this item is that it does not heat very much lotion at a time. One pump's worth, then you have to wait for the next pump to heat up. I hope this helps!!!

I recently purchased this product for the cold winter months in the North. I also had to put lots of lotion on to prevent stretch marks during my pregnancy but dreaded putting cold lotion on. This product I would definately recommend to anyone that likes to put lotion on but hates putting it on cold.

They work good and do capture a lot of dust. However, they cut the air flow by about 25%. If your ducts aren't sealed properly, I'd avoid any filter like these.

They do exactly what I expect.......catch a lot of the "dust" in the air we breath. Sure, I would recommend them to anyone who wants cleaner air.

This is just like a piece of rectangle felt that you could buy at a fabric store for much cheaper. Vent mate is much better because it is like a cardboard insert with felt, that fits nicely in the vent.I will buy vent mate again on not this True blue product ( even though Amazon has them listed as vent mate they are not vent mate, they are true blue) next time when it is time to change out these.

I have used this type of filter with decent results. I prefer the VentMask to any other vent register filter. I like that you can apply a VentMask anywhere. I use them at home and especially when we take family vacations in our hotels to control my sons allergies. I found them at www.TheVentMask.com ...hope this helps others looking for filters.
