I bought this timer for my garage, to keep my 2HP, 240V air compressor from coming on in the middle of the night when I forget to shut it off. Since the timer mechanism is sensitive to vibration, I had to mount it on the wall and NOT the compressor itself. I wired this single pole switch in one leg of the 240V circuit to save cost, and it works fine. It would have been better to use the 6-hour FF46H and switch both poles. It's a little tight in a standard small J-box; a deep one would offer more room for wires. It's too soon to tell how long the contacts will last in my application, but since I don't use it every day, it will probably outlive me.

Best Swizz Style F-007 Fred Humidifier, Red Deals

The company sent the humidifier very quickly and in good condition. It is a funny looking thing. Reminds me of a red spaceship. It will get noticed in your home by friends. It's so different looking then the standard humidifier.

This works like a teakettle blowing a medium or low amount of steam depending on the setting you choose. It is very quiet. During the day with TV volume and conversation you can't hear anything. At night when it's quit you can hear the water boiling but it is not loud enough to be annoying. Best there are no extra filters needed and all it takes is a weekly cleaning to remove the lime buildup.

The unit itself stays cool to the touch during use but the flow of steam is hot right where it comes out so you will need to use caution with very young children. This unit stands very securely; I feel it would take a pretty hard hit to knock it over. Also the water is in a separate container inside.

The instructions do not say the area this humidifier humidifies nor the amount of time it takes to empty the water tank. On low my empties in about 8-10 hours. The electricity used is 200w for low and 300w for high setting. The low setting works well for me. It has auto shut off when the water runs out.

I have this product for about three weeks. It is very easy to add water to. It is also easy to do the weekly cleaning. It does not leak or leave any kind of water stains during use.

One problem with the unit is that it is made out of plastic. The nozzle through which the steam comes out of is plastic painted with silver paint. The paint started to bubble near the top inner part of the nozzle on my humidifier. If the bubbles break it will not look so great. That is why I'm giving this product 4 stars instead of five.

There are almost no reviews on the web about this product. I believe it sells in red, silver, black and a lime color. If you like the unique shape don't be afraid to give it a try.

'Fred' is one of the coolest humidifiers on the market. With it's space-age look, this is not your typical household appliance that you want to hide. Worth the extra money. I prefer warm mist humidifiers because they don't create the white film that the ultrasonic humidifiers leave behind. Unfortunately, my 'Fred' came with a broken leg due to poor packaging by Amazon (tsk-tsk), so I had to return him. (I'm pretty sure it's a 'he.') Love the fact 'he' comes in so many awesome colors too!

I purchased this item a couple of years ago and thought it was great. I was refilling it recently when I found that the top was stuck to the base, upon inspection I could see that both sections had warped, evidently due to excessive heat. Considering I ran the humidifier all winter long and filled it two to three times a day I knew this had happened very suddenly, it had been working perfectly and came apart easily a few hours previously. I believe this could have created a fire hazard had I not discovered it in a timely manner. I sent an email to Stadler Form (the manufacturer) telling them what had happened but heard nothing back from them, apparently they are not interested in complaints. I won't be buying another.

The price was good. It does do a good job of heating the bladder. The only thing I would prefer is for it to have an actual temperature gauge that you could set. All it has is low, medium, and high.

I have not yet gotten an electric bill after using this heater, but I do like it very much. It is portable, and I can leave it right against a wall and not worry (the wheels keep it 4 or so inches from the drywall) and the room where I do computer work is far from the thermostat for the oil burner, so it tends to be colder than the rooms next to the thermostat. This heater fills the warmth gap nicely. I even use the remote which came with it. As long as it stays connected to the power supply, it retains the last setting I used. When it is unplugged, it reverts to the default settings, so that is something to be watchful for. I have only used it on low; the high seems to have a large draw on the power supply and "high" is the default. It arrived before hurricane Sandy which left my home without power for seven days; a small generator helped us with absolutely necessary power such as keeping the fridge going, and I used this heater along with a small portable propane heater to keep the house bearable.

It's way stronger and warmer than any other heater I've had. I used it for about 3 winters and it was still going strong until my puppy chewed through the cord. I bought this to heat a mostly insulated 3-car garage workshop. This unit would struggle to heat this much space in a severe climate but our winters here in the Pacific Northwest are fairly mild. My garage is quite comfortable to work in after an hour or so when outside temperatures are in the 35 to 40 degree range. The unit is thermostatically controlled so you just need to let the space get to the temperature you want and turn the dial on the back down until the heater turns off. From there it will turn itself on and off as needed. It is a bit on the loud side, but isn't nearly so loud as the power tools I'm using. I suspect this would be quite expensive to run if you used it to heat a garage all winter, but it's fine if all you want to do is heat it a day or two a week. The upside is that this has made my garage workshop useable year round and I don't have to wait until spring to begin work on projects.

Heater was installed using 208V about 4 weeks ago in a large electrical room. I have the built in thermostat set to 4 and the Dimplex heater keeps the upper part of the 14' high cielings very warm, the lowerpart of the room is cool but comfortable. I installed two of these in a 20 x 30 ft industrial space. On a cold day in Boston, 20 F., the room gets to 65 F after about an hour. If I had enough power coming to the room, I'd add a third just to have the BTUs to heat the room quickly, but in general two seems to be enough. The room is comfortable and as spring draws closer and thing warm up a bit, these two babies will be just fine.

Very easy to install. One of the heaters clanged when it ran. I had to open it up and bend one of the fan blades -hence the 4 stars.

This heater is part of Dimplex's commercial heaters line. Dimplex also makes a similar unit under its Industrial line -the EUHxxxx. It's about twice the price with fancier heater element and the thermostat in the front rather than the rear. Same BTU output. I have no idea what the practical difference between the two is.

I recommend this unit.

The Hot Springs tech told me that this heater is what they call an "after market heater" It does not say "Watkins Nofault" on the heater only the part number and it is of poorer quality, I was expecting a real Watkins nofault. No wonder it only has a 1 year guaranty and the real Watkins heater had a five year guaranty. Not very happy because I paid a good price expecting a real Watkins, product is not worth the money.

The item shipped was not an original Watkins heater as the listing indicated, but was a clone without the same specs. Yes it is a 6KW heater but it does not have the PDR (Power Down Reset) function, nor does it have the platinum coated heater core. I'd ship it back if I wasn't in dire need of a heater for my spa.

Received this as a Christmas gift. Used very lightly in my office. Died after a few months of use. Simply won't turn on. I imagine the electronics fried in it from the heat. More likely, there is a chip in there that causes it to die shortly after the warranty is expired.

It's another piece of junk made in China, now destined for a U.S. landfill.
