It took me awhile to find a small portable heater that would turn itself on at a specific time as well as turn itself off at a specific time. Most portable heaters had timer shutoffs but required you to first turn them on. My goal was simple, warm up the bathroom before I got up in the morning. This Delonghi Model filled the bill. The timer mechanism which turns the heater on and off is accurate and reliable. The thermostat also works accurately and reliably to maintain a very even heat.

It took a little experimentation to determine how long the heater had to run at the various heat settings to warm up the approx 10X10 bathroom so I knew when to have it cut on to raise the temperature to the desired level for my early morning wakeup trip. Long story made short, it works quite well in achieving the desired result... I have it set to turn on two hours before I get up and the bathroom is, as a result, toasty enough each morning. I should disclose that the heater operates in a bathroom with a 12' ceiling which is a bit taller than the typical 8' ceiling more commonly found...it requires a longer warm up time as a result. I can also report that the heater is totally silent. The only sounds I've ever heard are some very light tapping sounds of very short duration when it first comes on and up to temperature(tis the nature of applying heat to metal). Same thing happens when it shuts off and begins to cool down. I should emphasize that these sounds are very subtle and of short duration. Barely noticeable.

I have read some other comments regarding an odor emission. I noticed the same thing the first couple of times it was used but absolutely nothing since. I'm sure it was some kind of protective coating they apply to the surface at time of manufacture. In any case, with the exception of it's initial break-in, no odors since.

Summary: Very pleased with the performance of this space heater for my purpose. It's not designed or built to heat large areas but is quite effective and efficient in heating modestly sized areas. I really like the convenience of automatic turn on and off, which by the way can easily be suspended or readjusted as necessary. Because it is of the convection type design it provides a very even heating without the hot spots the small forced air heaters can generate. I would deem it safe to use around children and pets as well. No extremely hot exposed surfaces and has the required safety shutoff mechanisms if the unit should ever get knocked over.

Read a lot of good things about this heater. Not all of it was true. I gave 3 stars as the features are good, it quiet and does give off decent heat for medium rooms. I live in MI, winter is a bear at times, and when trying to save cost, this is a good heater for a medium to small room (10x10). Unit will struggle and you will be cool to cold in a room much over 10 x 15 unless you can really close off the room well. Would not recommend this for someone that likes it toasty and has a large room, this would just take the nip out if that.

It works well for a small bedroom but don't use it for a living room. Also, I tried to carry it one day while it was cold and dropped it with the bottom facing down. Because they're made of cheap plastic, two of the casters broke! Only one side has a handle, not the onther side, so it was easy to slip from my hand and drop. Finally, you should know that while the unit does work, it takes several hours to heat a room up.

This is an excellent stove I have used the double barrel type for 3 years but you need to be aware of one thing. The stove door bracket (part number #6 see it on the "replacement parts" downloadable .pdf hyperlink) is made of exceptionally thin steel that will bend when you close and secure the cast iron door. Several days ago in the night the fire alarm went off. I ran downstairs in the smoke filled house to find the door had loosened and opened up was wide open and fire was coming out of the door 2' into the air. Very scary situation. Got the door wedged shut with a cement block. I removed part #6 the next morning and fabricated a new door closure part #6 made of 1/8" thick metal. It works fine now. The manufacturer's customer service did not answer my email about this dangerous situation. Stove is 5 star. Door catch part #6 is dangerous.

All in all it's a very good kit, however, the draft hole is too small. When the door is closed and the draft damper is wide open, the fire goes out due to lack of oxygen. Also line the bottom half with fire brick, if you dont the bottom will burn through!

Was looking for a way to heat a small steel building...And here it is! Assembly was easy. Legs were a little short, but I was aware of this. Just used some cinderblocks under the legs to bring it up from the floor. Brought temp of bld{20x30} up to a workable level of comfort. Beats buying a wood stove for hundreds of dollars. Parts can be swapped from one barrel to the next when barrel starts to give way from use. looks like years of use from one barrel,by use I mean 20 to 30 hours per week during winter months.

Cutest candle warmer on the market. I bought them as Christmas presents last year. I got this tip from another reviewer and did an Amazon search for a cheaper replacement bulb when my mom's bulb burned out after over 1 year of daily use -GU10 120v 20w halogen light bulb. (They are 20w rather than the 25w that came with the candle warmer, but they have the same type base that fits into the warmer just fine.) Found a deal for a 6 pack of bulbs for about $6 plus shipping. I kept reading bad reviews about the bulbs not lasting. I've had no problems with my bulb, but now I have a cheaper solution when mine burns out.

I love this product however the bulb burned out and it is going to cost me $10-$15 to replace it because it says to use only the candlewarmers replacement bulb. I don't want to replace it every month. :(

This warmer has worked great for us since we've had it. It works on the smaller jar candles from Yankee Candle (14.5 oz), but it's perfect for the large jars (22oz). I can't speak for other candle brands since we only have Yankee Candle right now, so check before purchase.

The height from the base to the lamp is about 5 3/4" inches, so any candle near that height and under should fit fine. The lamp shade and light get really warm (of course), and the candle jar where the wax is melted will get also get really warm (shocker, right?), but the base stays cool to the touch.

Of note, the wax will liquefy, but it will not evaporate (like the wax tarts in a warmer), so with time the fragrance diminishes. When this happens, you'll have to dump out the liquefied wax. Just be careful where you pour it out. It can make a mess! If you do make a mess, I suggest letting it harden just a little bit and cleaning it while it's still warm. In my experience, that's when it's easiest to clean it off.

Overall, I recommend this as the fragrance quickly comes and it's stronger than if you light the wick. It's also more cost effective than wax tarts since you don't have to buy tea lights and wax tarts at $1 a pop. And also, no open flame!

Well, they definitely look better than the "under the candle" warmers. It also seems to get the smell out noticeably more due to the melting from the top. I'm not really sure if price is justified but it was a lot cheaper than quite a few of the others that I have found!

Haven't had any problems fitting candles either.

Very disappointing.... 3 hours to assemble... and even with a plumber friend had a hard time getting the LP gas connections safely connected. Overall this unit seems a bit cheap and flimsy -wouldn't buy this again if I had the chance to do it over. Keep looking there's got to be a better unit on the market!

update: March 2008: It's now been a year since we bought this and every time we turn it on I feel a little guilty about this review. Yes, assembly was a pain, but once we got it together, it's worked flawlessly since and puts out great heat. Amazon won't let me upgrade this to 3 or 4 stars, but I did want to add that this has been a good unit.

Update: April 2013... NOW I FEEL REALLY GUILTY!!! This little unit has put up with a lot of abuse (besides my original review)... it's always outside in the rain and the wind... it's gotten banged up by contractors...dropped... you name it... and it just keeps going. I fired it up tonight for the first time in a year... and it instantly lit, after about 3 minutes of bleeding the pilot... amazing!!!

I definitely take back my prior review... 5 stars....it's lasted 5 years, taken a lot of abuse, and still works like a champ.

These outdoor heaters are amazing. I ordered three of these from Amazon to heat a large patio with outdoor seating area and dining area and they do a fantastic job. I read the reviews here and noted the assembly warnings but these units were not difficult to put together and I didn't encounter any of the frustrations of the earlier reviewers and based on what they were saying in their reviews it looks like the manufacturer read the reviews and changed the assembly requirements.

The first unit took about two hours to unpack and assemble but I was taking my time and making sure I did everything right the first time. The second unit took about an hour and the third about 45 minutes. I have a decent tool set but am only average on the assembly skills and so I expect others will be able to put these together faster.

The units put out a really good amount of heat and once they have been on for 5 to 10 minutes we have to turn them down because they are just too hot which is an outstanding result. My in laws were visiting and after experiencing an outdoor dinner and breakfast they were hooked and planning on ordering one of the these for themselves.

We had dinner at a local restaurant later in the week we got these and we ate outdoors under their heatlamps and ... you guessed it they had the same exact heat lamps as these. Since then I have seen these same units in a number of restaurants around town that have outdoor dining. You know if the local restaurants are using them then they must be sturdy and longlasting.

I highly recommend these units to anyone that wants to heat their patios and are looking for a high quality unit that puts out a good amount of heat.

After reading mixed reviews, I took a leap of faith on this patio heater. Unfortunately, that leap fell a bit short. Upon receiving the heater, I noticed that the box was double-taped. This usually indicates either a) the manufacturer is taking an extra step to ensure secure packaging; or b) the product was opened, re-taped, and returned. There were no other shipping labels or evidence of label removal, so I assumed it was double-taped from the factory.

I opened the box and removed all of the pieces; when I got to the bottom I realized that all of the assembly hardware was strewn about, but the package the hardware was supposed to be in was there (albeit empty) along with the instructions. It appeared as though everything was present.

Hoping for the best, I began assembly and soon realized what I was up against. The instructions are horrible and could easily be re-written, as several of the individual steps are actually multiple procedures that must be done sequentially (you'll figure it out as you go, make sure your ratchet set is reversible). These steps are demonstrated by archaic line drawings that have no orienting details whatsoever, and I estimate a good half hour of my two-hour assembly was wasted due to this oversight. In hindsight, one could probably complete the entire assembly of this product in 30-45 minutes with accurate instructions. After a lot of head-scratching, I finally reached the last few steps, which involve assembling the dome at the top. This was when the Chinese engineering really came to light. Nothing lined up, nothing fit, and I almost sent this flimsy piece of trash Frisbee-like into the recycling bin. Some of the hardware for the dome assembly is supposed to be pre-attached, and at this point I realized that a few of the screws required for assembly were missing. After a trip to the hardware store, a bit of drilling, a bit of bending, a lot of twisting, and the creation of a few new curse words, I was finally able to complete this fine modern marvel.

I am still unsure if this was a returned item or not, but unless you have a lot of patience, are moderately handy, and enjoy a challenge created by a complete dearth of quality control and engineering, I suggest looking at another heater. On a positive note, it does work reasonably well when it lights (often requires the use of a lighter to get the pilot going). We'll see how long it lasts, but I would happily spend double the price for a quality unit with respectable fit and finish.

Overall good product. The assembly is fairly easy but will take a couple of hours. The one difficult part is connecting the gas line nozzle tip to the heating element portion (the "engine"). It does not want to click easily. You will need a strong person and a helper. Use a little 3-in-1 oil to make the job easier, twist gently, and don't give up. After that it works fine.

I have had other patio heaters at this price point and this is one of the better ones.

I purchased this from Sears 2 years ago. The sun has completely destroyed the chemical make-up of this wicker, and the bottoms of the barstools ( where a person would sit on) have all broken up! Even my Ikea wicker furniture has done better. So disappointed with the cheap make of this product, although I like its contemporary look.

Well, the order was placed and I received a prompt notice that it had shipped. VERY happy about that update. From there, the story loses it's way. They package arrived WITHOUT the chairs. Additionally, the box was destroyed, which also resulted in several of the bolts/washers being lost. I was short (3) sets of the connectors. My hope is that those that were included are enough to keep the table together. It was a very time involved build project. The bolts were not easy to screw and the tool provided was somewhat like what a child would have in a toy tool set. The table is decent, but it is not level. It rocks back and forth, regardless of what surface it is on. I have tried it on concrete and a wooden deck with the same results. During my dialogue with Amazon, they said they could not just send out the chairs. I would need to take the table apart, box it and have UPS pick it up. They would have to send me an entirely new set. I opted to take a partial credit on the purchase and cut my loses. I would pass on this purchase.

Great bristo set! Exactly as described. It needs two people to assemble it, but it was easy. We recommend to use a different wrench than the one that comes with the kit because is very flimsy.

Update September 2013: We placed the set in our terrace. It rained, and the metal in the chairs and table rusted, and stained the floor. I would take a star or two if I could because of this. However. We still like the set. We hope it doesn't break down any time soon and the metal holds on.

This set is really good quality and great look. I live in Ca, and it is all the time in the garden, half day in shadow, and half in sun.

The only complain I have is that legs are not in the same level, so they seesaw several millimeters, and that is why I removed one star.

I've had this window unit for over a year, and I really love it.

First of all, my bedroom is 20x15 feet, one wall has one huge window on it, the second wall separates my bedroom from the garage, and a third wall has THREE floor-to-ceiling windows. Obviously, my bedroom is scorching hot in the summer, and freezing cold in the winter.

I've needed a window unit for years, but was worried about the expense of having one. I shouldn't have worried. First of all, the window unit helps cool down the house, and so the main house unit doesn't work as hard. Secondly, there is an energy saver option to use, so that it only checks to see if it needs to come on every 3 minutes. Turns out that other than the initial cost of the unit, the upkeep cost isn't much different from before I got it.

I love the remote. I love not having to get out of bed if I get too hot or too cold. I had completely dismissed the remote as something that I would care about when I was shopping for window units. Turns out that it's the feature I love the most.

There are 3 problems with the unit though. First of all the plastic accordion thing is too short to completely go to the edge of the window. If your window is any sort of average size, that means you're going to have to plug that up with something (I used a flat board and some foam, which is very unattractive.)

The unit was hard to set up... the directions were TERRIBLE. I ended up having to get someone to install it for me.

Final problem is that the temperature gauge is on the unit... so if you have the unit set to 68, it will shut off if the air next to the unit is 68. A couple of feet away from the unit it may be 74. This is not something unique to this unit... ALL window units are like this.

Otherwise, it's an awesome unit. I love it, and never regretted spending the money on it.

we have a small guesthouse, and this unit is perfect. it heats well, and it's nice to not have to worry about heaters and cords on the floor. it's small, compact. the unit is easy to install..you can install the sleeve and then slide the unit in. runs on 110v. at this time, have not used the a/c. a refurbished unit, seller was prompt with delivery.

The through-the-wall window unit in our lake home went south. I shopped Amazon for all possible fits so as to avoid major construction. I selected this unit based on fit and price with my fingers crossed I wouldn't be sorry. I am not. I had only to make a couple cuts. The unit fits the area better than the one taken out and for two weeks it has worked wonderfully. I agree with another reviewer the directions are almost worthless. I finally threw them away. I installed the casing, slid the unit in and with some fiberglass insulation, moulding and caulking, it looks very nice. I just ordered another refurbished LW7010HR to replace our other Fedders through-the-wall unit even though it hasn't gone south. The decision was based on the fit, price and how quiet this LG unit is. We have used electric space heaters while at the lake in the winter. I'm hoping this unit will alleviate the need for a separate space heater.
