Ordered this little stove and was pleasantly surprised! Love the happy red color, and it's a great space heater as well as artificial fireplace. Double switch allows you to use only heat, only fire, or both. We've enjoyed using it as an extra heater over the winter.

Review of Duraflame Red Electric Stove - 4600 BTU, 1350 Watts, Model#
Hopefully this video captures the charm of the artificial fire. I love it! It's safer than a real fire and much cleaner. Flip a switch and it's on, flip a switch and it's off. The switches and temperature dial are located behind the door, below the faux fire. When the blower is on the warm air comes from the base between the front legs. No assembly was necessary. Only the door and embers are plastic, the unit is metal. It's sturdy but light enough to carry to different locations.

I generally only leave reviews for the best and the worst products that I buy here on Amazon. Thankfully, this product falls into the former.
I am pretty hard to please in general but this little stove won me over right from the start even while still removing it from it's box.
Growing up in wintry New England, we heated our modest little house in the sticks with wood stoves. This was not without it's unpleasantries. Lugging wood into the cellar and enduring bloody noses and dry skin from the moisture-sucking heated air was never my favorite but I must admit there is nothing like the sound and smell of a wood stove on a cold January night.
After living in Southern California for the last 13 years, I recently grew nostalgic for my childhood. I live in an apartment and a real stove is not possible so I looked for solutions that didn't require venting or actual wood and came across the Duraflame 4600 btu.
It's built solidly, with a nice patina that does resemble an old cast iron stove. It's also a very good size, not too big and not too small. Perfect for the corner of the living room in my 700 sq foot 1 bedroom apartment.
I was rather dubious as to the quality of the 'flames' so I wasn't expecting much when I flipped on the switch (nicely hidden by a solid glass door) to activate them. It turns out they look very realistic. The coals even look convincing. I sat with a glass of wine and watched them dance for at least 30 minutes, happily reminiscing.
After being completely spell-bound, I remembered to test out the heater part finally. It has a blower underneath that directs the heat out the front. I tested underneath, behind, on top, and found no heat except where it should be. That's reassuring to me, knowing that the heat will always be confined to a cone coming from underneath the front.
I even placed a candle on top and left it there for 10 mins. It did not melt at all. It does get hot around the circumference of the bottom surface but that's about it.
All in all, I am extremely satisfied with this product. It's going to be a big hit at my Christmas dinner party. Buy this thing immediately. you won't be disappointed.
I am already showing it off to my neighbors ...
This is a video of my heater. The flames look really real!Everyone who sees it loves it and wants one.I am now able to keep my central heater at 70, and still have a warm home. Heats from the floor up so your feet and legs stay warm, which central heat doesn't always do that well. I absolutely love this heater/fireplace! Perfect size for bedroom, bathroom or small living room(like I have, 20"x20")Why didn't I get one of these sooner!
Update! 1/5/2012...
I had this heater almost a year now. And I just wanted to say...I STILL LOVE IT! Small size, but puts out the heat. I have a 870sq ft home. And this little fireplace keeps at least half of it warm. It may heat all. But I keep the bedroom doors closed dues to little dogs in the home. But the little ones(dogs) all really enjoy the fireplace as well. Bottom line. Get it. You won't be disappointed!
It gives a very nice fireplace efffect coming from a small stove. The heating element is very powerful and warms up the room quite fast. I bought because of the terrible cold winter we had last year here in Tampa, FL. I suspect it will be another cold few months of temps in the 30s and 20s. So I bought it for that reason. You won't be sorry very nicely made.

Honest reviews on Duraflame Vent-Free Metal Stove - 4600 BTU, 400 Sq. Ft. Heating
I purchased this stove instead of the Dimplex model that is almost identical because I liked the design of the door better and I thought that Duraflame was a respected brand. I know someone that has the Dimplex and absolutely loves it. I read the reviews of the Dimplex and there are tons of them and almost all extremely positive. I thought the fact that there were only a few reviews for this stove might be because it was newer to the market. The stove looks fine. Was delivered in good condition, and is easy to just plug in. No assembly of any kind. The flame is a resonable facsimile of a real fire, so all that is fine. But within a few weeks the motorized parts that rotate to make the look of fire started to make noise. Also, the heat blower makes noise. So the fire plus the blower make some pretty audible noise. If you turn off the heat blower you have what is essentially an annoying noise that actually makes me have to turn the TV up louder. Sometimes the noise gets quiter. Sometimes it gets louder. It would be too much trouble to return it so I'm stuck with it. I'll never order something this large from Amazon again.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Duraflame Vent-Free Metal Stove - 4600 BTU, 400 Sq. Ft. Heating

I purchased one of these humidifiers last winter. At first, I loved it so much I ordered 2 more for my kids. We used them for 3 months and then put them away when we shut down the heater for the season. This winter, however, we've had nothing but problems. The first one started leaking water . (I suggest putting the unit in a shallow container if you have nice furniture, as this happens quite often.) The units were still under warranty so I contacted the company. They tried everything possible to persuade me from returning it. Their solutions to fix the unit were as follows: Clean the unit with lemon juice, only use distilled water, and empty the unit when not in use. I already do all of these things, but I have no idea how that will "repair" a leak. The unit leak so much that it stopped working. I spend $10 to return the unit. A week later someone from the company called to say there was nothing wrong with it so they were sending it back without doing any repairs. Needless to say, since they didn't bother fixing or replacing it, the unit still leaks water and doesn't produce mist.
When the first one broke, I started using one of the others I had. But after just one month of use, that one no longer produces mist. And now the third unit just started leaking water. I'm really screwed now because at this point all 3 units are out of warranty.
Initially, I spent over $150 on the three units I bought. I can't believe Sunpentown refused to do anything about the defective one I sent back. You think they would've replaced it just to keep a good customer. Take my advice: SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! THIS UNIT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY...AND SUNPENTOWN DOES NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY!!!
It has worked incredibly well so far. As an added bonus, I was easily able to wipe it out, put it in my bag, and take it with me to visit out of town family for the Christmas holidays. They have electric baseboard heating, which is extremely drying. I used to keep a regular humidifier there, but I was the only one who used it, so it needed a new filter every time I used it. This portable one worked perfectly!! A few family members were very interested in it, and my mom is even going to order one after seeing how great it worked.
The only thing I can think of that would make it better is if you could use a larger bottle. 16.9 ounces doesn't last very long if you have it on high (does not last through the night). I am curious to try a 20 oz or 24 oz bottle possibly one day. I have had issues with a couple bottles used so far. I think it is because of the cheap, flimsy plastic used. I have tried an Aquafina bottle and a store brand water bottle. Both could be a little difficult getting the adapter on properly. I did find a bottle that works perfectly and seems to be much sturdier (it is 17 oz., so close enough to the 16.9 limit). It is Talking Rain Sparkling Ice flavored water. I will keep a couple of those on hand at the office, home, and my parents' house.
I highly recommend this humidifier for office use, traveling, or small rooms. I'm not sure it would be the right thing for constant use at a house because of the water limitation. GREAT PRODUCT!!!
~ Quality manufactured (in China)
~ Variable vapor output
~ Automatically shuts off when out of water
~ Compact bedside table size
~ International voltage ready
~ Includes two bottle adapters
CONS:
~ Has a bright blue light that *could* be too bright for some users
~ Noise level is low but *could* be too noisy for some users
I'm hypercritical about manufactured products but this was quite a surprise. I did not give it 5 stars because there is no way to turn off the bright blue light that shines through the vapor nozzle. If you can live with that you won't be disappointed.
You don't need a lot of water. You don't need to humidify the whole room...just the area near your head. This unit is almost amazingly SMALL. Quiet. Convenient. I bought distilled water from the supermarket, store it in the bathroom and fill a 16 oz water bottle every other day. It was never practical to use distilled water before, in the usual gallon humidifier tank, even though it is recommended. Who wants to buy/cart that much water?
This little beauty does the job. Lots of cool mist. In fact, on the high setting, it can soak the pillow case, so I keep it at about 1/2 setting. Every morning I take off the nozzle and top, pour out the remaining water and let everything air dry during the day. The bright light in the well was a problem, but I took a suggestion from this site and put a small piece of black electrician's tape over it. This doesn't seem to effect it's function at all, but I do wish the manufacturer would address this issue, as it is the main complaint.
I recently traveled with it, and it was great. Of course, it has helped through the winter cold season and the spring sinus season. Highly recommend it. Great product.

I travel frequently and, while working on a job, my old travel humidifier kicked the bucket. After much internet searching, I found this nifty little device. First off, it's MUCH smaller than you think-slightly larger than a large box of 250-ct matches. Insert a water bottle, plug it in & you're set. Easy to clean & carry with you, the thing I love most about it is that if it runs out of water, it stops on it's own. It puts out a large amount of cold humid air for it's stature, but unfortunately it struggled against the incredibly dry air in the Minneapolis hotel room where I was staying. My recommendation would be to run the humidifier all day while you're gone with the door closed to your room and see if that humidifies the space more effectively.Best Deals on Sunpentown SU - 1051 Mini - Humidifier
I initially purchased this portable humidifier to use at the office. It is extremely dry, and I had been getting dried up bloody noses from the dry heat. I was searching for a filterless humidifier, because I did not want to worry about filters get mildewy and gross, especially from not using it over the weekends and holidays. I also wanted something that would be easy to put away in a cupboard when I left work. I came across this Suppentown portable humidifier and thought it sounded perfect. It has worked incredibly well so far. I've always used humidifiers in the winter season. The huge, heavy tank, the cleaning, ugh! Recently, I developed dry eye and was told by my doctor to use a humidifier to help with the nighttime dryness. After searching Amazon and using the very helpful reviews, I ordered this little dynamo. You don't need a lot of water. You don't need to humidify the whole room...just the area near your head. Cheap New - Twin Window Fan by Lasko
I wanted an inexpensive haust fan to remove smoke from the room. This does the job and the noise is minimal. I would buy again if all you want is a simple fan that does the job without breaking the bank.
I have to turn the fan in the window, front to back, etc. It does not lock into the window, I actually have had to place a large planted pot in front of it to keep it steady and not falling over. Would I buy this specific fan....no. I do think there is another fan that gives you the options of having the fan blow into the room or out of the room, just by turning a dial.
Oh yes, when having to turn the fan, its hard to hold onto, and often slips out of my hands. Cumbersome.

Buy Calesco Softside Waterbed Heater with a 4oz Premium Clear Bottle
We replaced a broken heater with this new one, and really like it. It has three heat settings (as opposed to just having a thermometer to set it at the temperature), and the cord is longer than the one we had previously. Works great!
return credit. It might be my fault for ordering the wrong one.

This heater works well once its started. It just take an act of congress to get it to start. There needs to be no wind and you need to hold the pilot button for like three minutes before it starts. If you're patient (not me), then this is the heater for you!The heater seemed to work fine. Takes a little time to get it started the first time, but is not difficult. My biggest complaint is safety. I did not feel safe turning my back on this heater for one second. If you are putting it on flat concrete it should be fine. Most camp sites I have ever been on aren't always the most even of ground and after the 3rd time it tipped over in my tent I decided to just rough it out with the sleeping bag. So if you are on perfectly even ground, go ahead and buy it. Otherwise I would avoid this one.

Honeywell HZ2300 Honeywell Heater Review
I use this under my desk at work and it's exactly what I wanted. Variable speed, not too loud, quick to heat. The temperature gauge feature is nice too, as is the auto shutoff in case it tips over.
+ The heater will probably work well for at least a month.
+ It oscillates well.
+ The auto-off tip alert does work, but is very sensitive. If it is bumped, the lights in the room will flicker due to the power fluctuation until it situates. This is as opposed to my previous heater (a Holmes) that just shut it self off until I turned it on again.
Negative:
As another reviewer mentioned, this heater has a "child proof cap" style control knob. After approx. two months of gentle handling (because it was obvious that the heater was made with terribly cheap parts) I could no longer turn the heater off because the threads on the cap had worn off. In the end I had to unplug it to turn it off and stop using it.
After two weeks the fan blade started to make squealing sounds at random times. By the time the control knob broke, it had become quite loud. I never shook, dropped, hit or ever moved the heater. It was only set to oscillate for about one minute when it first arrived. It was another sign that this heater is cheaply made.
First, the Settings knob is the push-and-turn type, and when you press on it and turn it, it just keeps going around and around, Second, even if you turn the heat setting (the second knob) all the way up, the heater turns off after about three second (I actually timed it). Then, if you're lucky, five or ten minutes later, you'll get another brief blast of heat. Third, for the fan function to work, the room has to be as warm as the heater setting, which doesn't make any sense at all. Fourth, the whole unit oscillates, sending blasts of heat around in an arc.
I've been buying space heaters for that small bathroom for the twenty years I've been in this house, and the six dollar Rite-Aid heater I bought in a pinch two years ago worked better than this thing.
Choose a different heater!
The only trouble I had was pushing down the child protection button. It does take quite a bit of strength

Reviews of LG Heat / Cool Window Air Conditioner with Remote - 7000 BTU
I've had this window unit for over a year, and I really love it.
First of all, my bedroom is 20x15 feet, one wall has one huge window on it, the second wall separates my bedroom from the garage, and a third wall has THREE floor-to-ceiling windows. Obviously, my bedroom is scorching hot in the summer, and freezing cold in the winter.
I've needed a window unit for years, but was worried about the expense of having one. I shouldn't have worried. First of all, the window unit helps cool down the house, and so the main house unit doesn't work as hard. Secondly, there is an energy saver option to use, so that it only checks to see if it needs to come on every 3 minutes. Turns out that other than the initial cost of the unit, the upkeep cost isn't much different from before I got it.
I love the remote. I love not having to get out of bed if I get too hot or too cold. I had completely dismissed the remote as something that I would care about when I was shopping for window units. Turns out that it's the feature I love the most.
There are 3 problems with the unit though. First of all the plastic accordion thing is too short to completely go to the edge of the window. If your window is any sort of average size, that means you're going to have to plug that up with something (I used a flat board and some foam, which is very unattractive.)
The unit was hard to set up... the directions were TERRIBLE. I ended up having to get someone to install it for me.
Final problem is that the temperature gauge is on the unit... so if you have the unit set to 68, it will shut off if the air next to the unit is 68. A couple of feet away from the unit it may be 74. This is not something unique to this unit... ALL window units are like this.
Otherwise, it's an awesome unit. I love it, and never regretted spending the money on it.

The through-the-wall window unit in our lake home went south. I shopped Amazon for all possible fits so as to avoid major construction. I selected this unit based on fit and price with my fingers crossed I wouldn't be sorry. I am not. I had only to make a couple cuts. The unit fits the area better than the one taken out and for two weeks it has worked wonderfully. I agree with another reviewer the directions are almost worthless. I finally threw them away. I installed the casing, slid the unit in and with some fiberglass insulation, moulding and caulking, it looks very nice. I just ordered another refurbished LW7010HR to replace our other Fedders through-the-wall unit even though it hasn't gone south. The decision was based on the fit, price and how quiet this LG unit is. We have used electric space heaters while at the lake in the winter. I'm hoping this unit will alleviate the need for a separate space heater.Monday, February 3, 2014

Two of my bulbs don't fit all the way, so I have to strategically slant them just right so that the bulbs turn on. The timer on the lamp doesn't work. It stays on without ever shutting off automatically.Best Deals on 36W Nail UV Lamp Acrylic Gel Shellac CURING Light TIMER 36 WATT

Liners just like these sell for at least twice as much in most other stores. Heavy gauge vinyl, fits my waterbed frame corner to corner, and is taller than my old one. I replace my liner every time I replace my water mattress. That happens about every 10-15 years.

It fit perfectly, stood up on it's own and was very easy to install. For the price I would buy it again.Best Deals on InnoMax Pro Max Heavy Duty Stand-Up Waterbed Safety Liner, Queen
A disastrous late night waterbed lead prompted the purchase of this liner. It will certainly contain the water should another disaster occur. It is much better than others we have purchased, and we can now sleep soundly without the annoying drip of water!Friday, November 1, 2013

This is a good heater. We have purchased it for our bathroom and it does a good job in heating it quickly. We know it states it is not intended for a bathroom, but those that are rated for a bathroom just have a GFI on the end of the power cord. We already have a GFI outlet that I use offering the same protection.
The timer is a nice feature and easy to set from 1 hour to 7 hours or anywhere in-between in increments of one hour. The oscillation works as expected. The power level is either 900 watts or 1500 watts. All of those options are easy to set.
The thermostat is an area we would like to see improved so that it works at the 900 watt setting. Our bathroom is small and really does not need that much heat. The thermostat only works on the high heat, 1500 watt setting. The manual states this if for "increased efficiency" which I do not understand. 900 watts is 900 watts and 1500 is 1500 watts. Have a thermostat turn it on or off does not make it any more efficient. If you get more BTUs per watt, that would be more efficient in my eyes. Plus, when I tried it on the thermostat, there appears to be a cool down period after you reach the desired temperature which I think is a good for the unit.
We like the heater and would recommend it to others given the above.

We just received our Lasko Ceramic Tower Heater Model #5775 yesterday and could immediately see that this unit really does a great job of heating up our family room. We were using an EdenPURE which was a large applicance, over-priced and not energy efficient. It never really heated the room well. We won't know about the energy cost until we get our next electric bill but as far as the heating it works great!!! It is very quite operating, looks nice and doesn't take up much room. So far we love this heater!!! I had read consumer reviews on this heater which were excellent. Also the price is great. We paid over $300 for the EdenPURE and it was not worth it. It was a rip-off.Best Deals on Lasko #5775 Ceramic Tower Heater
Hoping the "plastic bag roasting in the oven" smell eventually wears off. Other than that this works well. I have no idea, still, how the temperature setting works. I left it 65ยบ and it runs for some mysteriously predetermined amount of time and then shuts itself off. Also, it seems that the electronics panel on top stays warm when left plugged in so it's an electricity vampire.Honest reviews on Lasko #5775 Ceramic Tower Heater

Bought two of these one for my son-in-law in his workshed separate from his house, and another for us to use in our living room. I didn't want to keep heating the whole downstairs floor when we spent most of the evening in the living room only. It did eventually warm the room a few degrees and would have been OK if it didn't keep blowing the breaker switch. Our house has quality wiring and we don't have much of a problem with this sort of thing. We sometime have some pretty heavy electrical loads from an electric stove, electric oven, electric dryer, lighting, and air conditioning with no problem. The house has GFS breakers throughout, as well as the main breaker panel in the garage. Built in 1993. But the constant blowing of the breaker in the main panel dedicated to the living room (where we were only using the TV and one lamp), is too much of an annoyance, so it is basically useless for us. It has to be the heater, because we've run in the living room, the TV, stereo, lamp, main light, another lamp, foot massager, and a massaging chair all at the same time with no trouble. My son-in-law sent his back and got a more powerful heater. His house and workshed are much older (1960s built) but he has no trouble with blowing the breakers with a different brand of more powerful heater. Don't know why this one does it, but it's pulling too many amps or volts or something. I'm not an electrician so I don't know the exact problem but I do know it's related to that heater. No problems when it is not running.
