First note: This item is HUGE. It is very nearly the size of a dorm refrigerator...possibly taller.

Second note: This item is loud, but NOT in a bad way. It has the steady fan-generated-white-noise thing going on. If the unit is between you and the exhaust, it seems quieter, but if you can see where the exhaust exits (re: window fitting) you will hear both the unit and the air in the exhaust pipes.

Third note: It is not immediately clear whether you're supposed to use the drainage hose in AC mode, or JUST in dehumidifier. As luck would have it, the answer is yes...you need to drain while cooling.

That being said, I am completely in love with this big lug. It was over 95 outside when I brought it in. It was over 90 *inside* when I tore into the box. It was roughly 10 minutes of girl-reading-instructions-holding-screwdriver after that. Ten minutes later, I turned it on, and let'er rip.

Roughly 60 seconds later, the air coming out was COLD.

The first couple degrees dropped rapidly, downgrading the entire first floor of the apartment from "broiler" to "huh, it's kinda hot" in about 5 minutes. The next couple degrees happened more slowly, over about an hour, taking the whole first floor from "hot?" to "not hot" and finally to "comfortable"...about 75 degrees.

This is only the first day, so I will post follow-up reviews later.

I would definitely recommend the unit, though.

For whatever it's worth, I previously owned a Royal Sovereign that I was overall happy with.

Danby makes great products. This air conditioner came with all the parts needed for all possible installations, and if you use it as a dehumidifier, it has a drainage hose that you must attach. It comes with enough panels for sliding door installation.

The unit itself is MUCH quieter than the Royal Sovereign, and while I'm sure it's noisier than a window unit, I'm thrilled that it is as quiet as it is.

It's also slightly smaller than the RS was. I was nervous about the white plastic outside, but it is a shiny, easy to clean surface.

The air conditioner output can be directed up or forward, but side to side is not variable. This unit also has heat.

One funny thing though is that the air conditioner has a remote, right... but you can't see the settings on the air conditioner because the indicator lights are on top!

The thermostat works extremely well. This air conditioner does not turn off when the desired temperature has been reached and this seems to be common with portable units.

In 2005 Consumer Reports said if you buy a portable unit, get one with 2 hoses because it will work... the single hose portable units do not work. They were right. Get your portable with 2 hoses.

This air conditioner is overpowered for my space, so I cannot review it on strength, but it was as strong as the RS unit that was also the same BTU.

Please feel free to comment on my review if you have questions I can answer for you.

This Danby Portable A.C. Rocks !! All is required is patience to install the product correctly making sure to use insulation ! It cools down a room very quickly on the highest settings. Ex: My 15' X 15' X 8' bedroom was cooled from 87 to 77 in 30 mins. It is even more efficient when allowed to constantly drain the condensate. The EER on this machine is 9.91 which makes it on par with units of the same BTU production in thru wall and window units. This Danby A.C. unit is way quieter than my 8 year old EnergyStar rated Friedrich 11,500 BTU thru wall A.C. unit it temporarily replaces due to the plug having to be replaced on it. On the highest fan speed with the compressor running, I can hear while talking to another person in the room or on the phone, cell or landline. So, on the lowest Fan speed setting it should not be a problem. Instructions that came with the unit were as thorough as you would expect as well as being available online which is a plus because I've misplaced mine already, lol. Controls are on top of the unit so when using the remote control you will have to already know which settings on the unit are in use or you will still have to approach the unit to see what they are set to, and that is really the only con I can think of when referring to this unit. I haven't tested the Heat feature. The fans are quiet enough and powerful. I haven't tried the dehumidifier yet. When running the A.C., it produces significant amounts of condensate quickly which cools the room faster. So, it is required to be consistently emptied or directly drained for constant use of the A.C. or the Dehumidifier. This unit is portable but not portable if know what I mean. It does have handle type grips on the sides of the unit as well as casters which allow for easier portability but, it is far from light to constantly be moving it ! , especially on carpet ! Overall, I am very happy with my decision after many hours of research on the many different portable A.C. units available in the marketplace and would without hesitation recommend this unit. The Danby Premiere Series 4 in 1 Portable Air Conditioner Model #DPAC12010H features a 12,000 BTU 9.91 EER Air Conditioner, a 54 pint removal per day Dehumidifier, a 4800 BTU Heater, a 3 Speed Fan and also has 2 Condensate Drain options to suit your needs and is a quiet unit in my opinion. P.S. For Best performance; set-up system to constantly drain condensate and use an additional fan, preferably a ceiling type for proper cooling distribution.

I started looking and researching portable air conditioners ,, not sure exactly what I wanted .. I visited the big warehouse type retailers but was'nt impressed with the selection... Eventually I searched on-line for a wider selection. As luck would have it I found this unit and was impressed with the double intake and exhaust hoses , Very efficient I might add. I have a large apartment, which is an upper unit. the conditioner cools the living and dining area very nicely. I could'nt be happier with the efficiency and the quality of this product. I would recommend this Danby conditioner highly to anyone looking for quality cooling. I have'nt used it as a heater or dehumidifier yet but I'm sure the results would be most satisfactory. A footnote :the exhaust/intake panel is adjustable to the extent to fill a sliding door opening , very crucial for my selection because of my large vertical opening. windows.

I had a problem with the first heater of this exact same type and was prepared to send it back. I bought this unit through Factory Buys Direct, but made the mistake of calling on ProCom for help. They were no help. I purchased a second unit from Factory Buys Direct to speed up my installation. In the mean time a representative from FBD, solved my problem. It appears that there are at least 2 flaws in the ProCom manual that comes with the heater and ProCom's tech support lead me in the wrong direction in 2 other points. In the end, the installation is very easy. I suggest that you check the setting for the fuel source found under the info plate (with the cable). Both of my heaters were set for NG and my source is LP. Early on in the manual it states that ProCom ships the heater set for LP. If you have a problem, FBD will help.

The heater works perfectly and puts out enough heat for over 3/4 of our 1700 sq ft. We love it!

I would recommend to all and especially when ordered through Factory Buys Direct.

PS I kept both heaters, at this price I'll have a spare!

There's nothing nicer than a warm, dry, towel. And in the summer this heater keeps towels from getting musty so quickly. But, our electric bill went up $40 per month and we didn't know why....until we unplugged the towel warmer. Now we plug it in long enough to dry the towels, or to heat them while we shower. Then we turn it off again. Other than being an electricity hog, this is a great product, and we enjoy the feeling of being pampered and comforted with heated towels.

I've been using the Hyde Park Freestanding Towel Warmer and Drying Rack for about one month. It appears to be very well-built it is sturdy and does not tip easily. Towels don't get nearly as warm as they would in a clothes dryer (a clothes dryer uses far more energy). However, it dries them thoroughly, allowing them to absorb more water far more quickly. I put a timer (about $10 at Lowes) on the receptacle, keeping the rack energized only a few hours before and after normal towel use times. This should minimize the impact on the electricity bill.

Best Deals on Jerdon WHC Warmrails Hyde Park Family Size Floor Standing Towel

I live in Southern California and I really appreciate this unit. My husband and I had an apartment in Paris that had a great towel warmer. It's hard to describe the European warmer, but it had more surface area. My complaint with the few units I've seen here in the United States is that they have rungs instead of a tile-like surface heating area, and therefore aren't as efficient and don't do as good a job of heating/drying. However, given that the European units don't seem to be available here, this unit works well enough. We use it to warm/dry our towels, dry swimsuits, etc. without having to start up the clothes dryer. It's also very nice to have a warmish towel when you step out of the shower.

Unlike the cheaper Heatra model, which I've discarded because

it was only luke warm, the Hyde Park is nice and hot.

This towel warmer heats up quickly. I find that if I lay the towel on it when I get into the shower, it's nice and toasty warm by the time I get out. If you have never had a warm towel waiting for you after a bath or showeryou don't know what you are missing!

As noted in previous reviews, these air vent covers aren't magnetically strong enough to cling to an air vent with air coming out of it. Hell, I couldn't get them to stay on even then the air wasn't blowing, much less when it was blowing.

For air returns, these would probably work okay if the magnetics were strong enough to hold it to the register.

If you are using it for floor vents, it is fine, but I have a vent on the ceiling and it does not stay up.

Best Deals on RPS Magnetic Central Air Conditioning Vent Cover - 3 Pack

The problem is that when packed three together, the magnetic fields are weakened. I found two covers placed with the right polarity stick to a ceiling vent better. You also need to cut them to the vent size to reduce weight.

It's a good idea but the solution needs refinement.

Honest reviews on RPS Magnetic Central Air Conditioning Vent Cover - 3 Pack

Unfortunately, these cover are not magnetic enough to support their weight in a vertical position, which is what I bought them for.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for RPS Magnetic Central Air Conditioning Vent Cover - 3 Pack

All the prior reviews are acccurate and these don't work as advertised for the purposes of covering wall vents. However as weak as these magnetic covers are they can potentially work for you. Here's the solution I found that works ok:

1) First make sure to cut them exactly to size...the smaller the better as this allows them to hold their own weight much better.

2) Double them up. After you cut it to size use 2 covers back-to-back on wall vents. They will hold this way.

If all else fails you can always use those mini-magnets which are obscure and powerful enough to hold these up and get the job done.

The reasoning behind the title I chose is due to the amount of people I hear thinking these are supposed to absolutely work miracles. More explaining to this below.

After Reading some of the other posts, I had to add my 2 cents to the pot.

The iHeaters advertised on Amazon right now are the older (Last Year) models. I bought my iHeater last year (2008) in December. I have to say that last years model was great for the heat, but was a little noisy. I saw the new model and called about it and they said that the noise issue was taken care on the newer model due to they put sealed bearings on the fans instead of the open bearings that were on the older model. I decided to sell my older model and bought the new model for this year and man was I impressed. It runs ultra quiet. The one post I read about the hair dryer freaked me out a little as that is completely different. These heaters don't take the humidity out of the air (A hair dryer will) and the iHeater uses that to it's advantage. Think about it this way, moisture in the air is always moving (Whether you can feel it or not) and if the moisture is heated up, then the heat is distributed more evenly and would take less to actually heat the space needed.

I used the older model last year to heat my 900 square ft apartment. Beforehand I was using central heat (Electric Heat Pump) and my electric bill was running between $120-$130 per month. My electric bill after the iHeater was utilized never reached over $60 for the rest of the winter and I never turn my central heat back on. I set the iHeater to the Medium Room setting and the thermostat on 70 Degrees and my apartment never got below 68 Degrees and that was on some nights that the temp outside was in the teens here in Kentucky last winter.

My father owns 3 of these to heat his 2500 square ft (not very well insulated) older 2 story home and 3 more to heat his 3000 sq ft (not very well insulated) kitchen cabinet showroom. He claims that he saves at least $300 a month by using these instead of his heat pumps. We are both happy with ours because they are saving us money, but I could see how it wouldn't do so well for some others. Some of it has to do with conditions of the use. I will say that by far, these will not take the place of insulation or if there easy ways for the heat to escape the location intended for use. Other factors people should take into consideration... Multiple Stories, Tall Ceilings, Cold Concrete Floors, Older Windows, Amount of Doorways the Heat has to travel through, Temperature Outside, etc. If the heat is escaping with your normal heating source, the heat from this heater will escape also. That is where the "Not a Miracle" in the title I chose for this review came into play. I rate this item at 5 stars because it is doing exactly what I wanted it to do. Heat my apartment and save me money. Whether it will do this for you requires a little common sense and not really expecting a miracle. When a heater says it's rated for 1000 sq ft or 1500 sq ft, that is based on the most optimal conditions. When have you heard of any company trying to sell their product do ratings on their products in the worst possible conditions?

I suggest that if anyone who reads this does purchase a heater or multiple heaters, to figure some overkill just in case of that extra cold unexpected day, or just to make sure to save the optimum amount of money as possible. Keep in mind that if one of these are running full blast constantly every day to barely keep up, then that is constant electricity being pulled, but if you are running 2 or 3 of them spaced out among the location, then the heat will be spread out more evenly and they will run alot less altogether than the one that would be running constantly (non-stop) all day and all night.

I personally believe these things are the best things since sliced bread, but I used common sense when I set my expectations for the product. If you think that you can purchase one of these to heat 1500 sq ft and the rooms are very chopped up and/or you don't have insulation above the ceiling or under the crawlspace and/or in some outer walls, but not in others, then you really setting yourself up for disapoint or just want to buy one to be mad about it and prove the person that told you about them wrong.

Also, the one review I read on here said that they asked about a return policy by e-mail and never got a response from TOP TEN IMPORTS. But yet, she still bought it anyway. First off, if you e-mail someone about a product you are wanting to purchase and they don't respond, then why would you still buy from them after you already see what their customer service is like. There are other places that sale these products, find one with the customer service and courtesy you expect, then buy it from there. In my opinion, that person chose their own fate with this heater and not being able to return it due to not getting answers before she bought.

Hope some people find this helpful.

We bought an iHeater 1500 after using a standard infrared tower heater so, we had some idea of how to use it. It doesn't work miracles but it will warm a room when used in conjunction with a regular heater, propane in our case. Here is the difference it makes and what it does. First, our room is only 500 square feet but has a sloping ceiling 12'at the highest point and 8' at the lowest making air circulation important so, we bought the larger capacity heater intentionally. This heater comes on and with the fan running, it slowly starts heating the room. It takes a while to feel the effect and unlike the propane heater that just heats the air, the iHeater actually heats the floor, walls, furniture and bed with the infrared heat. We notice the biggest difference in the room that has only propane heat. Chairs and fixtures are colder to the touch and the air temperature gradient can be anywhere from 2 to 5 degrees cooler. It works as advertised and we notice the biggest difference at night because the bed is definitely warmer from the infrared heat.

The heater cycles on and off as it should and we are using significantly less propane. I won't say 50% less because we need to see how it does during the colder months to really evaluate it's performance cost wise. Regardless though, we are more comfortable in the room with the iHeater than in the rooms without it, just as we expected.

I think the biggest mistake people make with these types of heaters is that that have an expectation it will instantly warm a room and will replace your other heat source. It doesn't work that way. Used in conjunction with and to supplement your normal heat source though, it does what it needs to do. The other thing you need to realize with any infrared heater is that you need to leave it on so that it cycles and continuously heats the floor, furniture, walls, etc.

I would definitely buy another one of these heaters and we are finding the PTC element to be preferable to bulb heat. I would also recommend this heater but caution that you need to understand how it works and how to use it to get the best results. Bottom line, we like it, it works and does what it is supposed to do.

I wish I would have seen the reviews of the I-Heater H1500 before I had ordered and it would have saved me the grief I'm having now. To leave a review you have to give this item a star and it really deserves no stars. Top Ten Imports states that it will heat 1000-1500 sq feet....it didn't even heat a 13 x 13 room let alone warm us sitting right in front of it. I'm very disappointed and feel as if I was really taken. I'm upset because I'm an honest person and expect everyone else to be. Live & Learn...as they say. This product is a no return item but that is not stated on the website. Just like the other reviewer states if you see IHeater or Top Ten Import Co., RUN. I am also going to complain to my credit card company and hope they can help us.

Honest reviews on iheater IH-1500B Quartz Infrared Portable Heater

This is my first review on Amazon, and I decided to write one for this product for several reasons:

I was a huge skeptic

I've tried several other options to keep my 1400 sq. ft home warm, and they worked, but only heated a very small space to a temperature (63-65 degrees F) that was still on the cool side

When I first started using the iHeater I was sure that I would have to return it because it wasn't heating my home but I found out I wasn't using it correctly

Ok, the first thing to know before you buy this heater, or any other heater of this type, is that it will not heat your home by itself! If you are looking to replace your furnace (like I was naively trying to do), then don't spend your money. However, if you are looking for a way to heat your living space to a comfortable temperature without your furnace kicking on every 10 15 minutes, then I would give this product a try.

Here's what I tried to do when I first bought the heater.

Set the furnace thermostat to 60 degrees F

Set the iHeater to 90 with the medium room setting

The results: The outside temperature was anywhere from 32 degrees F to the teens overnight. I let the heater run from about 3PM until the next morning at 7AM and the temperature in my living room (where the iHeater was positioned) didn't go over 63 degrees. When we woke up, it was 59 degrees and the furnace had kicked on over night. Needless to say I was discouraged after spending $300 on this black box.

Here's what I tried the next day:

Move the iHeater to a central place in my living area (I put it in a small hallway that connects my living room and dining room)

Turn the iHeater to 72 degrees F with the medium room setting

Turn my furnace thermostat to 68 degrees F

The results: The outside temperature was anywhere from 32 degrees F to the mid forties throughout the afternoon. The furnace got my home temperature up to 68 degrees after kicking on about 5 times in the first hour it was running. That was 7AM-8AM. Between 8AM and 9AM the furnace turned only 2 times, and the temperature inside remained 68 degrees. It's now 5PM, and the furnace has averaged to turn on only 1 time per hour for about 10 minutes to maintain 68 degrees throughout my home's main floor. That's 1/5th the amount of times it had to turn on without the iHeater.

I plan on playing with the settings (changing the room setting and/or the temperature on the iHeater) to see if I can get better results, however, changing the room setting will increase your power consumption. I have a Kill-A-Watt meter measuring the iHeater right now and Small uses about 950W, Medium 1070W, Large 1500+. Given my current setup the electric usage will be roughly 24-26kWH per day.

I hope this helps anyone that was thinking of purchasing this product, because I know I've been trying to find a way to cost-effectively heat my home for over a year and a half. Hopefully I've found it. Good luck!

What a great little unit. I wasn't expecting much to honest just something to help a little with the cold WI winters and the high heating bills. I have the 1500 model hoping to keep the living room warm on my 1600 sq. ft home. I was amazed how it did this and more. I have 3 bedrooms upstairs and as long as I kept the doors open it did a nice job of even warming them from downstairs. If people think you just turn it on and instant heat your living in a dream world. It takes time, not overly long either but it does take a bit. Very very quiet. Just bought another smaller unit for my daughter that she also just loves.

I got this for my wife. She likes it, and it does a good job of warming lotion.

I thought unit was on the large size. It holds a LOT of lotion, which might be good if you lather down your body a couple of times a day. It is too big for those who use specialty lotion in relatively small amounts. In addition, the dispenser is also not as sturdy as it looks in the picture.

Am I pleased with the purchase? Yes. But with a little better design, this would have been a superb product.

Nothing feels better after a shower or bath than warm lotion. It's much more soothing, and seems to absorb more quickly.

This handy 16 oz. dispenser holds enough lotion for many a body smoothing, and takes only a jif to reach the perfect temperature. There is also an automatic turn-off for safety's sake.

If you're lucky enough to have a massage, warmed lotion only makes it more pleasurable. At times like this life is very, very good!

I got this product when the price dropped down to $12. So for that price I liked this product a lot. It heats the lotion well. Initially I thought it was small, but now I think it is the correct size. I did not realize how much better it is to apply heated lotion until this. I switch it on when I go for a bath and by the time I am back, the lotion is ready and warm. It is a great buy, and for all you bargain shoppers, wait till the price drops. It is especially a great buy during winter.

I had been using this lotion warmer/dispenser for about six months when it broke. The heating element still works, but the pump no longer produces lotion when pushed, rendering it useless.

Also, before it was broken, it was necessary to fill the well nearly full in order to get any lotion out, which meant refilling it nearly every week.

I don't recommend it.

Extremely quiet and heats objects/people well by radiant heat. Used in a large, open great room where heating the room's air is impractical. Replaced a small fan/ceramic heater which we would huddle around. This heater keeps us warm while sitting on couches a few feet away. Very happy with this purchase.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I love this heater! It takes about 20s to heat up, but it's a great heater for a small room. I turn it on at 1200W when I get home and in about 20 minutes, my room is noticeably warmer than the rest of the house. Our house is huge so a central heater would be inefficient, so we use space heaters. Ceramic heaters that blow out air warm up rooms the fastest, but use 1800W vs. 1200W or 800W from this heater. It does oscillate and allows you to tilt the heater as well as change the direction of the heat manually, without having to turn oscillation on. Have not tried the remote yet as I keep it within an arm's length away.

I've hung a shirt over this heater before & took a bit too long in getting it off, so the alarm light came on because it was overheating. I was nearby and watching it, but it seems if you did something stupid like went away while you left your shirt on the heater, then it might burn out or cause a fire (or it might turn itself off). When you lift it up, the safety function comes on and it does shut itself off.

I bought a Soleus 14" as well (400W & 800W) and to compare with the soleus which is a bulb, I think the Soleus is more instant & has the 400W option, for those who want to keep the heater close by and not looking to warm the whole room. The Soleus is a lot brighter because it uses a bulb, whereas this one uses coils. I feel like the Soleus is a bit warmer at 800W than this one at 800W, but the Optimus will probably be better at warming up a room at the same 800W. The soleus, when you lift it, will momentarily turn itself off, but will come on again by itself (whereas this one will stay off & you need to turn it on again).

This one does make a bit of noise while it's starting up, but becomes quiet after. I'd highly recommend both the Soleus & the Optimus. Just have to decide whether you want 400W & 800W (Soleus) or 800W & 1200W (Optimus). I've been keeping the optimus in the bedroom to warm up the bedroom and the Soleus in the bathroom to warm myself instantly & for only a short while.

Instead of buying the Presto heater from Costco AGAIN, I bought this one because of the new features:

* Very simple 800 or 1200 watt settings (Costco's Presto is 1500 watts, manually adjustable with the knob)

* Timer (3 settings~ save energy!)

* Remote (comes with a snap-in bracket that can be mounted on the arm of the heater) works well IF you point it right at the sensor (located at the base of the heater). I thought it didn't work in the beginning and almost wanted to return it. Finally I figured it out. IT WORKS!

* Up-down manual tilting

* Tip-over (or if you want to move the unit) Auto shutoff (Presto will make a beeping sound if you move it. This one simply shut it off.)

Overall, the quality is good with the additional features that WORKS. I just don't wanna spend the same money buying the same old stuff from Costco. This one is a keeper. The only possible concern is the warranty. I cannot found the company's contact phone number (they only provide an AOL email). :P

I purchased this item maybe two months ago. I never used it much until I went to bed. When I turned it on it would be on no longer than 10 to 15min. tops before I turned it off to go to bed. Last week I turned it on as usual and it made strange noises and the second level of heating did not come on. No matter how many times I tried to heat it, it would turn itself off. I wish I could get my money back even though I have 4 other dish heaters in my home that work well for the last several years. But this one from another company pooped out. I didn't get my monies worth.

I'm disappointed.

This product does seem a little cheap but I don't think it would ever break or malfunction. The face plate is small enough that it won't hide scratches from previous switchplates. I bought one over six months ago for a bath-fan and I liked it so much I bought two more for my other bathrooms. It saves us a lot of power.

I'm a beginner in heat embossing and I thought this set would be great for me...but I was wrong.

1.The clear stamp is beautiful and quite useful.

2.The stamp pad is OK. the Gold embossing powder is great, it give a very beautiful effect.

3.The green embossing powder is OK to me, but the effect is not as beautiful as the gold one.

4.The Black embossing powder it terrible, the effect is very ugly, it's bleed on my paper. and I will never use it on my work.

5.The embossing ink pad is terrible, it didn't hold the embossing and every time I use my heating gun on it, a lot of embossing powder was blow away. I use a pigment ink pad instead and turn out to be Great!

My suggestion: Don't pay more than $10 for it.

Photo is misleading; Of course it's my fault due to not reading the description better as the photo shows a heating device that is not included in the kit. Perhaps product should be labeled "Heat Embossing Items from Martha Stewart" (Heat Gun Not-Included).

Very unhappy that the heat tool is shown in the picture but is not actually included. This is VERY misleading and disappointing to find out on Christmas eve that the gift the person wanted most of all is incomplete. It does say on the BOX that the heating tool is not included, LOL!

Honest reviews on Martha Stewart Crafts Embossing Starter Kit

This kit doesn't come with a heating tool. Heating tools at Michael's craft stores are around $25. Sorry, but after paying $20 for this, and not being impressed with it at all (even without the tool), I'm definitely not going to fork over the extra money to try to continue using something that I'm not happy with.

Would not recommend buying the kit since there are much better embossing products out there on the market. The heat wand works just fine but the embossing products are sub-par.

I searched for quite awhile and looked at many different models of electric fireplace inserts before deciding on this one. It was a tough decision because I couldn't find a video of it in action so I decided to post one of my own. I'm sorry because it is dark but hopefully it will give you a little bit of an idea what this insert is like when its on.

I expected it to be brighter, although, as I said, I looked at a lot and I found that they pretty much all have the same level of brightness. I kept looking for that truly "real" fire look in an electric model and quickly had to realize it just doesn't exist, that is, unless you're willing to spend about a $1,000...I THINK NOT!

So for the price this is a very cute model and I love the way it looks inside our mantel. The arched top is an especially cute feature. I also enjoy that the heat comes out of the bottom as opposed to being top mounted as it is on other models. It heats up the room nicely and shuts off on its own when put on a lower setting, which is also very nice. We enjoyed having ours set up just before Christmas and I look forward to continued use in the warmer months since you are able to have the option of just flames with no heat. To me that makes it much better than a real fireplace that is only usable for a few months out of the year. Can't beat it.

This insert is very nice. With a screen in front of the fireplace it looks very real. It's nice because you don't have to worry about going to bed and leaving the fireplace burning. If you use the heat factor, it warms up a room very nicely.

everyone who sees it loves it. The best thing I ever bought! I thank Amazon and the manufacturer! It is so realistic and I don't have to buy duraflame logs anymore!

Honest reviews on Pleasant Hearth Electric Insert with Heater

This item adds ambiance along with necessary heat. It definately stops the chill coming from an adjacent room.Well worth the money.

This well made hearth won't replace your central heat, but looks good and really saves all that heat loss when you burn the fireplace if you don't have an expensive glass door. We only used our fireplace a few times a year and while real wood smells nice and real flames do look better, more heat went up the flue than into the living room. This product puts out an adequate amount of heat, but you may want to raise it up two or three inches. I used a row of old bricks and the heat being directed into the room, rather than directly on the floor improved significantly.

It has a nice metal back and the flames are very realistic. Higher priced products are often cheap wood and plastic. As for a real smoke smell, short of setting fire to the ricking chair I can't help you out.

I purchased this blower to add it to a mid 90's Heat-n-Glo gas fireplace that never had a blower installed. The blower came very quickly from the seller and I installed it in 5 minutes. It is a little tricky to manuever the blower to where it needs to go, but not a fault of this blower.

The blower is quiet and works well. It does push some air and helps to distribute heat.

This blower was purchased to replace a 20-year old identical Regency Wood Stove blower motor. It is exactly the same motor and blower. However, you will need to retain some of the old motor wiring to cut & crimp. The new motor comes with just a crimped power cord and an attached ground wire. You will need to cannibalize the old wiring in order to use your existing power switch and thermal overload. A minor nuisance.

The new blower might also have to be rotated 90 degrees on the baseplate. In order to gain access to the bolts, you have to pinch and remove the cotter pin and then pull (hard) on the plastic blades to remove. Another minor nuisance. Make sure you have a magnetized socket screwdriver handy.

Altogether, it took my fat fingers about 30 minutes to install. The new blower is whisper quiet.

The hardest thing about these blowers was making sure I had the correct one for the fireplaces I have. I received it and had very little trouble installing it. Again, the manufacturer make the most problems. It works better than I could have imagined, to include all three blower settings. It was so good that I ordered another one because I have two fireplaces. Recommend that installation instructions from the manufacturer is downloaded before you order because the blower comes only with instructions on how to mount it and plug it in.

Don't get me wrong, this transaction went perfectly. The seller is great, and the item showed up on time as described. I was, however, surprised when I got it all set up that the fan doesn't do a whole lot: it needs more power. It still helps heat the room faster, but I was expecting a lot more. I'd probably still buy it again, as in the long run it will pay off, but don't expect your living room to be toasty in half the time.

Single speed blower. Had to index the blower motor to fit existing stove frame. Spliced wiring and motor worked great. Still going three months later. Took about two hours to do job. Hardest part was removing the squirrel cages.

first heater started to make a metal to metal vibrating sound. They replaced no problem next heater came damaged in shipping form fedex. They also replaced with no problem. Third heater works excellent very pleased with heater live in a 1000 square foot apt. Turned off heat pump heats up about 2 degrees a hour. So far a great heater an I would recommend it to everyone as a extra source of heat. Saves me money on power bill. Hope it will hold up and last.

This little guy was plugged in and went to work immediately, heating our 16x20 living room built on a concrete slab addition. It has a mechanism to prevent overheating, so we tend to leave it on all day and night in the coldest weather...which can be pretty cold here in central Michigan. The ONLY thing we don't like (and it's rather trivial) is that you can't have the heater on without the flame effect. Again, not a big issue, since the flames are pretty realistic looking, when compared to almost all other models. It comes with a remote, although we never use it. It's not too big and has a very nice rustic appearance that goes perfect with our "lodge themed" living room. It also doesn't weight a ton, so it can be moved to wherever it is needed, but is still solid little unit.

I was amazed on how real it looks. everything came in good working order. I received the item just like Amazon claimed. I am very happy with the product. I would purchase another one. you can actually open the door and touch the fire and the sides are not hot either. therefore, it safe for children and pets. I checked the heater on it and the heat comes from the bottom. the heat comes out hot which is a good sign. I love my new electric fireplace thanks Amazon for having great vendors.

Honest reviews on Dimplex DS2205 Compact Electric Stove, Black

I love this stove. It looks good-very realistic-and heats well. I use it in an open living room, dining room, and kitchen area. I turn it on when I sit down to watch television. It will always raise the temperature in that area 2-3 degrees, so you can turn down your main heat source. It is not very heavy, so it can easily be moved from one area to another. There is no setup required; just plug it in. If I had a place to put it, I would buy another!

The cord on this machine actually melted. My step-father has an electrician background and just bought a heavier duty cord and plug in for this machine. The whole cord got too hot and started to melt; he replaced it as soon as he notice the cable failing. This is a fire hazard and anyone purchasing this needs to watch for it.

This is a good heater. We have purchased it for our bathroom and it does a good job in heating it quickly. We know it states it is not intended for a bathroom, but those that are rated for a bathroom just have a GFI on the end of the power cord. We already have a GFI outlet that I use offering the same protection.

The timer is a nice feature and easy to set from 1 hour to 7 hours or anywhere in-between in increments of one hour. The oscillation works as expected. The power level is either 900 watts or 1500 watts. All of those options are easy to set.

The thermostat is an area we would like to see improved so that it works at the 900 watt setting. Our bathroom is small and really does not need that much heat. The thermostat only works on the high heat, 1500 watt setting. The manual states this if for "increased efficiency" which I do not understand. 900 watts is 900 watts and 1500 is 1500 watts. Have a thermostat turn it on or off does not make it any more efficient. If you get more BTUs per watt, that would be more efficient in my eyes. Plus, when I tried it on the thermostat, there appears to be a cool down period after you reach the desired temperature which I think is a good for the unit.

We like the heater and would recommend it to others given the above.

We just received our Lasko Ceramic Tower Heater Model #5775 yesterday and could immediately see that this unit really does a great job of heating up our family room. We were using an EdenPURE which was a large applicance, over-priced and not energy efficient. It never really heated the room well. We won't know about the energy cost until we get our next electric bill but as far as the heating it works great!!! It is very quite operating, looks nice and doesn't take up much room. So far we love this heater!!! I had read consumer reviews on this heater which were excellent. Also the price is great. We paid over $300 for the EdenPURE and it was not worth it. It was a rip-off.

Hoping the "plastic bag roasting in the oven" smell eventually wears off. Other than that this works well. I have no idea, still, how the temperature setting works. I left it 65ยบ and it runs for some mysteriously predetermined amount of time and then shuts itself off. Also, it seems that the electronics panel on top stays warm when left plugged in so it's an electricity vampire.

We have been without a furnace since January 1st 2012. We have two of this type of heaters. We live in Michigan. Keeps our home warm. I highly recommend this heater. Well worth the money.

Bought two of these one for my son-in-law in his workshed separate from his house, and another for us to use in our living room. I didn't want to keep heating the whole downstairs floor when we spent most of the evening in the living room only. It did eventually warm the room a few degrees and would have been OK if it didn't keep blowing the breaker switch. Our house has quality wiring and we don't have much of a problem with this sort of thing. We sometime have some pretty heavy electrical loads from an electric stove, electric oven, electric dryer, lighting, and air conditioning with no problem. The house has GFS breakers throughout, as well as the main breaker panel in the garage. Built in 1993. But the constant blowing of the breaker in the main panel dedicated to the living room (where we were only using the TV and one lamp), is too much of an annoyance, so it is basically useless for us. It has to be the heater, because we've run in the living room, the TV, stereo, lamp, main light, another lamp, foot massager, and a massaging chair all at the same time with no trouble. My son-in-law sent his back and got a more powerful heater. His house and workshed are much older (1960s built) but he has no trouble with blowing the breakers with a different brand of more powerful heater. Don't know why this one does it, but it's pulling too many amps or volts or something. I'm not an electrician so I don't know the exact problem but I do know it's related to that heater. No problems when it is not running.
