This product does seem a little cheap but I don't think it would ever break or malfunction. The face plate is small enough that it won't hide scratches from previous switchplates. I bought one over six months ago for a bath-fan and I liked it so much I bought two more for my other bathrooms. It saves us a lot of power.The description for this item said it was for a multi or single gang switch. It is only for a single gang switch.
