Bought the same model locally and after 4 hours running on high it would not heat a 400 square foot room any higher than the original temp. You could feel heat two feet in front of the unit but no further. Source Green Heat 4-Element Infrared Heater

So i received this unit the other day, and given the fact that i have other units similar to this, i'll try to compare this to my other units.

The unit seems well built and strong. Installation with a preexisting sleeve was a breeze. The box came with ALL the vents and insulation foam you need to install the unit. The instructions are easy to follow and simple. My only issue is really the heat test drive, it wasn't turning on right away but that could be related to the temperature of the room, it is still summer. I will update the review once i can use the heat in the colder months.

So far the unit is working great. I live in an apartment in Philadelphia which gets an awful amount of direct day light, so my condo gets warm quick. On top of that, my living room is open into the kitchen, so a small cooking mission with a boiling water will make the temperature to go through the roof.

The square-footage of the living room and kitchen combined is about 380sqft. I know you may think that 12000 BTU is too much (almost double) of what you need, but ALWAYS factor in your room traffic. with the kitchen at work and having 8 people over, the temperature increases by a lot and a 8000-10000BTU unit will leave you gasping for cold air. Hence the reason i went for a bigger unit and i am glad that i did.

This unit also removes a comfortable amount of humidity from the air which is also great to keep the temperatures low. I measured the kWh usage and with the unit on COOL, it goes through about 0.11 kWh which is very much the same amount my 9000BTU Friedrich unit uses and that unit really sucked at cooling the same room before (it is now demoted to the bedroom).

This unit also has more fan speed settings and the remote control doubles as the temperature sensor which you can place further away in the middle of the room for better temperature control.

This unit + a ceiling fan will certainly lower your bill and keeps the room cool (i get a lot of day light!). So far i'm happy with it. we will see how it can heat the room at the same time in the winter.

ALSO: this unit with COOL only option had great reviews and was the main reason i picked it, since my unit adds heat to the same cool-only unit. Double check the dimensions! the order it is posted in the description is not correct.

The price was also great, compared to the 9000 BTU Friedrich (this was cheaper with more BTU and options). Do the installation yourself and its a winner.

I bought this a few weeks ago, and wish that I had gotten it years ago, when I was first thinking of it. We bought and moved into a house a few months ago. The folks who had lived here before us had quite the menagerie of animals, and apparently little concern for potty training them. When we toured the house it wasn't so noticeable to us, but when we brought our own pets (2 large dogs and an elderly cat), it became clear rather quickly that the scents were still noticeable to them. So, they began marking their territory. We'd catch them in the act, clean it up immediately, and didn't have too many problems -until the amount of incidents began growing, and we couldn't catch them all.

I have used quite a few sprays, powders, and finally broke down and rented a carpet cleaner from a place that was on my way home from work. That was the worst idea, because their machine somehow ended up making ALL of my things smell even MORE like urine. So, I reluctantly rented a rug doctor from a more reputable source (how sad is it that my neighborhood grocery store is a more reputable source than a vaccum repair shop?), and got to work. I spent literally sixteen hours of the 24-hr rental period canvassing our entire house twice. It smelled and looked great, got rid of the other rug cleaner's pee smell, and most of the spots in our house. There were still a few stubborn ones, which I attacked with some of the enzyme sprays that were highly reviewed on Amazon.

Now, the rug doctor is pretty neat. I'm not gonna lie. I was kind of wishing I could just buy one of those, because renting one every month seemed redundant. So, I got online (amazon to be specific), and started comparing consumer carpet cleaners. I read many reviews, and finally settled on this one, because quite a few people seemed to prefer it to a Hoover. I was going to order one Prime, but then caught my dog barfing up his dinner, and decided I needed one pronto. It's the same price at WalMart, so I drove there post haste and picked it up. I wanted to get the ProPet, but it wasn't in stock, but this was my second choice, and it hasn't disappointed yet.

The unit itself was relatively easy to put together I did it all by myself, no help from the husband at all. No missing parts, nothing backwards, I did not even swear once during the entire process so you've got to know that it's user friendly. I'm not exactly mechanically inclined, but it only took about 20 minutes, which I attribute to the fact that I was watching TV at the same time.

It runs smoothly, and isn't too loud. It's not one where you can watch TV while you use it, but the noise is comparable to our vaccum. I can easily have a conversation over the volume without feeling like I'm shouting. I like that while the clean water bladder is nestled in, it's easy to remove and replace. I've been taking it out each time I rinse the dirty water resevoir, just to make sure that everything is rinsed off and I am completely paranoid of it somehow getting stinky like the vaccum place's machine, so I rinse it out thoroughly. I haven't figured out how to take apart the top quite yet so that I can rinse out the extractor completely, but it looks like it will just require a screwdriver if I really feel the need.

It extracts water pretty well, too as good as the Rug Doctor. The only thing that I view as a bit of a catch 22 is that while it's good at extracting water, it's also good at extracting anything that the vaccum missed. I don't know if that means that I need a new vaccum, but it always seems to have bits of carpet lint and fur that it will leave balled up behind it. That part is nice, because it's not going to clog up the extractor, and the lint balls are easy to pick up, but its still not preferable. Regardless, the point I'm trying to get to is DO NOT use this without vaccuming first. I'm a neurotic vaccumer because our dogs shed like crazy, and while the carpet looks spotless after a vaccum, it still picks stuff up.

I gave this only 4 stars, because I wish that there were more attachments when it comes to the tools. It has a handy little brush, but I was hoping for more versatility. It's also a bit clunky when trying to get it up and down stairs I pretty much just end up dragging the danged thing, but its good for building muscle, I guess. It moves well on carpet, doesn't catch like the Rug Doctor did (we have super thick Berber upstairs), and stores easily in our broom closet.

Overall, it's worth the purchase price. It gets the carpets very clean, manages to catch dirt and hair that I wasn't able to see, and has been instrumental in making my house smell better. I've been using it once a week since I brought it home, save for the 3x the first week to clean up residual pet messes. I've got quite a bit of confidence that it will last for many weeks and many cleanings to come.

Now that I am retired and doing the housework since the Mrs is still working. This is the third time using the machine. Easy to use and change out and empty the water. I use the 2x formula and find the solution does seem to last longer. The carpets look great. One wet pass on clean, 1 dry stoke,1 wet pass on rinse, and 3 dry passes to soak up excess water. Carpets are dry within 3.5 hrs. Clean-up of machine is also simple. I would recommend this unit for cleaning. Finally Momma is happy. What is the ole saying? if momma aint happy no one will be.

I was skeptical if it would work based upon the size. But do not let the size fool you. We use it while camping to take the chill out.

We purchased this item during the aftermath of the Hurricane It does work fairly well but there is a definite odor of propane if used on medium or high setting. Propane consumption: I ran the heater on medium for approximately on day it used a 20 pound tank of propane It did make our family room comfy on only the medium setting that is about 200 sf. We did not need to crank it up to high setting. It was a real pleasure after enduring 50 degree temp.

I live in a dorm where the heating is controlled and the university has yet to turn on the heat, leaving me freezing until they do. I tend to be super cold all the time, so wanted to invest in a decent heater. I was therefore siding with the Lasko 23 inch tower, (larger than average dorm room). It is harder to lug the tower home though, and definitely slightly pricier (i was buying from bed, bath and beyond). So I took the chance with this cheaper and smaller heater.

It is GREAT. As soon as you plug it in, it starts heating up the space. It rotates and evenly spreads heat. It is great for keeping the space you are sitting in, and the general area/radius around you very warm.

It is not big enough to keep the ENTIRE room warm, but since it is SO good at keeping me warm on my bed/the area where I'm sitting/studying, I cannot feel the cold draft inside the room whatsoever.

This is GREAT for a dorm room, especially if your dorm is smaller than my room, it'll do a much better job of heating the room. Since I just bought this, I will update my review if anything significant changes. Right now, I am very happy with my purchase. It is also REALLY small, really light, and easy to store. It has a safety feature of automatically closing if you lift it to move it around, and turns itself right back on once you set it back in place. It has 3 different options + dial with min to max temp. 3 options: fan (regular/cold), low heat, and high heat. There is a fan noise but it is very minimal in my opinion and not significant enough to distract me from my studies!

The only drawback for me is the fact that the safety instructions advise against putting placing it in the bathroom. The lasko 23 inch tower was alright in the bathroom.. so I will not be using this in the winter to keep myself cold before/after showers. too bad.

I work in a place that gets cold in the winter and never really warms up comfortably even when the heat is on, so people bring in their heaters. There are at least 5 different brand heaters at work, including my comfort zone heater. When I tried this one, it really puts out the heat, much more than the others, so I looked at the brand. I've been looking for it in stores ever since. I don't know who brought it in since there was no name, but I want one of these.

I ordered the 2ton Amvent unit to cool my garage/shop, which is roughly 1ksqft. I am very happy with the performance. It's nice and quiet, and seems to have plenty of cooling power. Installation was a breeze, even on my own. It could be tough if you don't have good access to the location you're mounting it to, or if you plan to mount it really high up on the wall. I did have to drill through stucco on the exterior wall, which was the hardest part for me. I was able to setup a vacuum pump on the supply lines, though I'm not sure I used 100% proper process for that whole purge step. I wish they had detailed out the process a bit more for the DIYer. I was a bit surprised at the sheer size of the external unit, so be sure to double check those specs if you have any fancy mounting in mind. This type of AC setup is very nice, and I'm happy I found this before ordering a portable unit that I don't believe could have any chance of comparing. There is not much you can do wrong, except leaving a leak in the supply lines, so don't be afraid to take this on!

We purchased two of these units and I have to tell you they are absolutely awesome.

One side note you will need an air conditioning tech to come and install the hoses if you plan on doing it right and vacuuming out the moisture in the lines.

Our tech added valves on the end to allow us to be able to service them in the future and that addition was well worth the cash spent.

If you are looking for a great unit at an inexpensive price these guys will perform all day long and never leave you with an issue.

The 24,000 btu unit keeps my 700 sq foot dining/living/kitchen area nice and cool on a 90 degree day! May or may not do a larger area? I expected it to be ovepowered for my space but it's really just about right. I've got cathedral ceilings and a generally hot house though, I'm sure makes a difference.

My fiance installed it in just over half a day. The installation itself really only took about 2 hours, he was running around to various stores trying to find parts for the rest of the time. The only component of the installation that he really complalined about was bending the copper pipe since the way he put it in needed a 90 deg turn and the size of the pipe was not standard to most of the pipe-bending tools he found in local stores. I think he eventually just got ticked off, wrapped the thing around his arm, and somehow managed to bend it without a kink. Everything else in the installation seemed to go pretty smoothly. He's a contracter/builder though, so not sure it would be that easy for everybody to install.

I couldn't be happier with the results, for just over $1000 I've got something that works nearly as well as central air and didn't even have to hire an HVAC guy to install it since the freon was already primed. It's quiet enough noticible but not intrusive. Easily the best purchase I've made all year!! Beats the heck out of my old window/wall units.

After buying this almost over a year ago..I finally got to having it installing into my country home. What a difference. Cools as expected maybe even better. Installer had it done in 2 hours including wiring it into my auto transfer switch so that it will run on my auto standby generator. Interior fan noise could be improved however it moves a lot of air so its a fair trade off.

I love it, After 2 summers in this house with central air in only the bedrooms, no ductwork in half the house (baseboard hot water heat for half the house) and no windows that I could put any window unit in (all swing out windows). I was resigned to the fact that I was going to have to put a sleeve unit in. Extra expense of cutting and framing not to mention weatherizing. I wasn't keen on the idea of listening to the hum of a compressor in my dining room all summer. This unit cools my kitchen, dining room, living room and foyer without breaking a sweat (approximatley 1200 sqft). It was easy to install but you will either need to know how to do electrical work or hire an electrician. A 3" hole to run the lines was a lot nicer than a 2' x 3' hole in the wall. There's a little noise from the fan but not the kind I can't live with. It would have cost several thousand dollars to install a central air unit and I installed this in one day for a fraction of the cost. I never heard of Amvent before but I'm impressed with how this works and the amount of money I saved compared to buying a brand name unit!

I bought this kettle because I loved the glass carafe and that I could see the contents of the kettle and I really liked the overall design. But I was completely disgusted with the results!

I always use filtered water for cooking and drinking because I am quite sensative to tastes and odors in my water. The filtered water I put in this kettle tasted FINE, but after the boiling routine was complete, the water smelled and tasted like a swimming pool. I took a sip of tea I made from this kettle and spit it across the room (a la Kramer)! The most foul chemical smell and taste I have ever known. I cannot believe that anyone else using this kettle, or in fact the manufacturer, would not notice it. I washed the kettle with soap and emptied it after each use, but even after a week, the same foul contamination was occuring as a result of heating the water in this kettle. If I left a small amount of water in the kettle for even an hour, I could watch a thick chemical buildup forming on the chrome heating dome that I could wipe off with my finger, like a BAD science project.

I don't know what is wrong with this thing, but it is truly scary. I am warning all consumers to stay away from this chemical hazzard producer and find another way to heat your water!

Note: If you want to better understand the problem, walk into any Bed Bath & Beyond or Linens & Things store and sniff the inside of the carafe they have on display. There is clearly something wrong with the materials used in the manufacturing of this item. It CAN'T be safe.

I really like this kettle. It heats water very quickly and shuts itself off if the water is too low or is boiling. The only thing I don't like is the silver matte finish. When I ordered it I thought the top was a brushed metal and its not. Its plastic made to look like satin nickel finish but really doesn't in person. The glass carafe does look great sitting on the counter and compliments my contemporary kitchen. Its also offered in the shiny finish which looks much better in person, but is still only plastic.

Fortunately I had the opportunity to see this product in use at the home of a relative, which is how I learned about it. Initially I did hesitate purchasing in the kettle based mostly on criticism seen here regarding the claim of the kettle affecting the smell and taste of the water. However there was not even an initial incident of odor or altered taste to the water. If there ever was something wrong with the design, clearly it has been fixed. So don't let the naysayers dissuade you.

After purchase, the kettle actually exceeded my expectations, water boils very quickly and the design is sleek and attractive. I love the fact that the kettle is clear and provides a clear visual in terms of cleaning.

Lastly, the fact it has auto-shutoff as a safety feature is wonderful. As someone who has ruined several conventional stovetop kettles (whistle not working correctly or offering poor tone) I could not be happier. In fact, I plan to order another.

I received this as a Christmas present and absolutely love this product. It was easy to assemble. Our home is 1820 sq feet and this product is in our living room. I have been able to keep my thermostat on my central unit on 68 degrees. This heater heats a large portion of our home, about 840 sq ft. Not only does it distribute the heat well, it is beautiful. Now I am just waiting on my electric bill and am hoping to see a decrease. I will update about that later.

I love this unit... Not as big as some electric fireplace units but we set ours up on a corner table in the livingroom and it looks great! The wood is beautiful. Cheap Narita 2.2-Liter Electric Hot Water Dispenser

I bought this one from San Fransisco in Chinese store and it did not work so I returned it . The new one worked one time and now it will not stop until all water from dispenser will steamed out. I check instruction book and has no mention of Company name, Phone number and product made in china or anything. Don't know who to complain.

I bought in San Fransisco and moved to L.A. So I can not return it.. Wasted my $45.

I would not recommend this product.

The water has a funny taste to it. It is not boiling hot but does OK for making hot choc or tea or even instant coffee.

I can't believe companies even sell clip on stroller fans that have hard plastic blades, but they do. This fan is superior because the blades are foam. If the baby sticks their fingers in the blades while the fan is running, they will not be hurt. All the fans I saw in stores had plastic blades and I just don't see how it is safe at all.

This fan kept my baby cool and comfortable in her stroller even when the temperature was over 95 degrees. She loved having a breeze on her face. The color and pattern is cute too. Would also be good for a bigger kid to take to camp and hook on their bunk bed at night.

This fireplace is very lovely. It has multiple light and heat settings. It is very attractive!! However, it is also a bit too loud. For the price, I expect it to be quieter. Our other complaint is that the top is not a solid piece, but made of 3 pieces. We've used this space heater for a little over a year to heat our girls' bedroom at night. I was really pleased with it the first year, but noticed recently that it never seemed to switch off, even though we would put it at the same temperature setting as we always had. So I tested it in my office during the day, so I could be sure to notice if it ever switch off. I ran it for about 5 hours in my office, and even though the office became quite warm, the heater never kicked off.

It still works well as far as putting out heat and everything, but I would not have purchased it originally if it didn't have a thermostat, which now doesn't seem to be working.

My kerosene heater started smoking lately and taking about 20 minutes to get to normal operating temperature, so I ordered this new wick. It arrived in a less than a week and installation was quick and easy. Good time to clean up the windows in the heater while it's apart. Make sure the three nubs on the new wick fit into the three slots correctly before you put it all back together, the wick should go up and down as you turn the knob on the heater from low to high. Once this is done put the heater back together, put in some fuel and test it out. My new wick now lights instantly and doesn't smoke anymore. It also puts out more heat than before because the old wick had shrunk and was charred around the outside edge. If your heater is smoking and takes a while to get up to temperature, buy one of these wicks.

Every year I make several purchases of these wicks and they all work wonderful. I have the best luck with the kero-world wicks. The only problem I had was a 28032 was placed in a 28033 bag most likely in the factory, and amazon made it right. Other than that no problem.
