We love the popcorn popper. It works great. Some people have complained that it is difficult to clean. So far, I think it cleans up really easily as the kettle is very easy to take in and out of the machine. The one complaint I had was with the "starter kit" that included "25 bags." It was a little deceiving as you would think that "starter kit" would mean 25 bags of popcorn, no, it only comes with 25 paper popcorn bags, so you still need to order the popcorn when you order the machine. Other than that, the popcorn is as good as any movie theatre.

This little popcorn maker works exactly as described. Just add the oil, salt and corn and voila! However, there is not a temperature gauge for the kettle. I have used other kettle-based poppers that took a bit longer and had few unpopped kernels. This unit consistently had a high number of "old maids", and you have to be right on top of it to dump them before they burn.

My biggest complaint is the clean up. The instructions say to cook a cup of water in the kettle and use the heat and steam to wipe away the gunk that the oil leaves behind. I only wish it were that easy. Maybe you could do this using a razor blade scraper on the glass walls. But that would still leave all the black, gooey junk that collects in the kettle. I've removed the kettle and carefully used boiling water and scrubbers and even some dishwashing soap to clean the kettle. The only way it got completely clean was by disassembling the kettle, and doing so could mean the loss of some very tiny screws.

There is no way to get my hands into the kettle when it is inside the popper and completely clean it. Perhaps you can do better. I gave this unit to a small school with fair warning. Good luck!

Honest reviews on Great Northern Popcorn Red Foundation Antique Style Popcorn Popper

I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my fiancee; its something she has talked about getting for our new house when we moved in together. I was a little disappointed with the packaging. First, it arrived on a day where my fiancee came home early from work. I was still semi-asleep, and when the doorbell rang, she answered. The package says what it is in big letters. So the surprise was a little ruined. But she was still happy about it. The other problem proved to be a bit worse. It appeared a forklift speared the side of the box. At first inspection, it looked like the packing materials took all of the damage. So I set up the popcorn maker on our bar when we had guests over. Then I put together the cart that goes under the popcorn maker. Whatever speared the box went through one of the spoke wheels and into the box on the cart. The wheel had a spoke torn from it, and the box was dented and warped pretty badly. Luckily the seller took VERY good care of me and had replacement parts shipped out FAST. Now the cart is all assembled with the popcorn machine on top of it, and it looks great in our theater/gameroom/bar. Oh yeah! We used it with popcorn that I bought from the same company, and it was geat!!! The 8oz kettle with the pack of popcorn/salt/oil from the same company makes a big mixing bowl of popcorn good or between 2 to 4 people.

We were excited to get this unit. We had previously had the 2.5oz Nostalgia popcorn cart and it was great. Well made and sturdy. We just wanted a bigger machine for our family. This works well and makes great popcorn. However, like another poster mentioned, the door on the front is terrible quality. Unlike the Nostalgia, the hinges are not properly attached to the machine. They slide up and down every time you open/close the door putting stress on it. About 3 months of adult only careful use our door cracked. I contacted their CS. I was told that nothing was covered past a 30 day warranty so it would be $23 for a new door. They sent me a copy of the warranty which stated: "Beyond the initial 30 day period, this warranty does not apply to: A. cosmetic damage, such as broken glass, scratches, nicks and dents; B. consumable parts, such as kettles and light bulbs, unless damage has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship." I strongly believe that this broke because of the "workmanship". It should not have happened after such little careful use. They sent me a paypal bill for $23, but all other correspondance was ignored. I have dealt with many companies that stand behind their products even after the warranty has expired without a problem. Those are the types of places I deal with again and again. I would not purchase or recommend Great Northern as they don't stand behind their brand. (Nostalgia for example: I contacted them when we were getting a lot of unpopped kernels. They sent us a whole new kettle without issue. Never even asked how old the machine was.)Turned out it was more "user error" than a kettle problem in the end, but they were wonderful to work with.

Arrived on time and worked as advertised. The assembly was easy and I will order one more for my second heater. I do recommand this product.

Made for the baseboard heater and purchased seperately..Since it is made for the heater, it fits perfectly and is easy to wire.

Product works well, it is the second one I bought. I use to control heat in spaces that had no heat before. In the winter, I set the thermostat so pipes won't freeze.

Honest reviews on Cadet #08734 120/240v White Thermostat

This is a very basic non-programmable thermostat that install easily on the Cadet baseboard heater (and not the wall). The double pole version actually will let you shut off the heater the single pole does not provide that capability. The setting is on a trial-error basis as there is no temp markings. I could not find a heater mountable programmable unit. The included installation instructions are not as good as the ones that come with the baseboard heater itself!

I just had the electrician install this. Apparently this thermostat is attached on the baseboard heater itself (so 1 thermostat per heater), so one will have to bend down to turn it on. I had thought this thermostat was hung on the wall, but I was wrong. We had 1 heater/thermostat unit installed in our freezing downstairs hallway (in Boston!) and in the downstairs bath. They both seem to be working well, but the real test will be next winter.

I ordered this from another source knowing that it did not come with the actual fireplace insert. Then I ordered the 18EF023GRA insert from Amazon (instead of the insert listed in Amazon's description) which worked great in this and is definitely a step up from the one listed to get and even at a lower price! I was very impressed with the quality of this stand and how sturdy it was. This is a substantial piece of furniture that looks great and will do the job nicely. The fireplace just really sets it off into something special. Just take your time assembling it from the nicely packed box using the very clear instructions, and I think you will also be pleased with the end result.

Before buying this unit , I did lots and lots of research. Consensus seems to be that you need about 40% more BTUs for a portable air conditioner than for a window AC and about an additional 10% more in BTUs if room gets lots of sun. I think this is why so many posters on many portable AC reviews(all brands)complain of lack of cooling. They buy units that are too small because they base it on the BTUS needed for window units. You can use a search engine to get guidelines for size or AC needed. I use this Sunpentown 1010E in a 275 square foot room that gets lots of afternoon sun. It cools very well with a strong air flow. No matter what you buy, look for cubic feet per minute air output. More air flow , more cool air. This one is 276 cubic feet per minute, which is more flow than many of the others of its size.

The foam insulation for this unit is ugly looking but it does seem to fill up the gaps in the window space so no air seems to get in or out. I keep the hose straight and as short as possible(it accordian folds to shorter length)so that hot air exits quickly and there is less heat reintroduced into the room.

Re ugly foam:You can also go to a store that sells and cuts plexiglass to window opening size and have them cut a circle to vent the hose(pricey because cutting a circle is expensive-$25 for the circle and $5 per straight cut for the plexiglass edge). Gives a nicer look tho than the foam insulation! Someone else on another website recommended Formular(see corning website) pink foam insulation board that you can cut with exacto knife to fit the window and a hole for the hose. Dow also has similar insulation board--there is one that is foam board and one that is styrofoam. I got the foam board because it is more rigid and because it has a moisture resistent coating. Remember that it will be exposed to the outside of the house and might get some rainwater/sprinkler water on it. Also, the foam comes in large sheets(96" high and 48"wide). I brought a box cutter to score/ cut it down to fit in my car. Used a six inch wide piece in my sliding glass door. Traced the inner circle of the exhaust nozzle

and used box cutter to make cuts around the circle and punched the circle out. I fit the hose through the hole and then attached the nozzle on the other side to keep hose in place.

I see Sunpentown also separately sells a metal sliding window insert with hole(other companies include it for free). Not sure if it is for this model or not. They have a website and very helpful customer service. I called them with questions twice before I bought.

I live in a dry area so I never have had to drain water. The machine also uses air condensation to cool the ac coils further so it is very energy efficient with great air floor and cools very well. Very, very quiet. I compared all portable acs in 9000 to 10000 BTU range to find the one with lowest watts consumed and this one draws only 873W / 8.15A. I have 15 amp breakers and didn't want to cause tripping or overheating of wiring. Would have gone for 12000BTUs if I had 20 amp breakers since I have very sunny room. Cools well and better if you start it earlier in the day when not at highest heat of the day so it doesn't have to work so hard(true for any ac actually) and will work more efficiently

Additional notes:All portable acs have non-insulated hoses, you can wrap them with insulation to reduce the amount of heat regenerated into the room. Also, the unit and hose should not be in the direct sun.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

The idea of a portable AC is great. The Sunpentown machine itself is great, it really churns out cool air. The problems with the design in my opinion, which any potential buyer needs to be aware of, are the following:

1) the exhaust pipe going from the machine to the window is not insulated, so it actually becomes very very hot when the machine is operating at full bore. It is not hot enough to pose a hazard when touched, but it actuallly re-heats the room on the way to the window. Overall the room does cool down but there is an inherent inefficiency in the way the room is cooled on one side of the machine then partially re-warmed on the other. Commercial units I've seen utilize an insulated pipe as exhaust.

2) The window mounting supplies for the exhaust pipe are a complete joke, a real slap in the face to the consumer. What is needed is something rigid which can be sized to the window frame. The company supplies a piece of flexible foam to be cut to fit. It barely stays upright in the window frame. Handy people might want to cut themselves a piece of plywood or plexiglass instead.

The company has a potentially wonderful product. They need to supply a better (insulated) exhaust, and more realistic supplies for the window mount.

Best Deals on SPT WA-1010E 10,000-BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote Control

It couldn't cool an 11x12 room (high ceilings) while a window a/c with half the rated BTUs does ok. Its fan is very, very loud (although not the compressor).

GREAT customer support for a ROTTEN product. Avoid it!

Honest reviews on SPT WA-1010E 10,000-BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote Control

I've had one for a couple of months, and am VERY disappointed with it. It puts out cool air, but definitely not cold air... Consequently, at best, it can get my bedroom down 10-15 degrees in temp, after several hours of running full blast. (Note that I quickly gave up trying to use it in my livingroom, where it would make almost no detectable change in room temp...)

A MUCH better choice I think would be to go with a std window unit (albeit it would be more difficult to install). It would work much better, and be much less expensive as well!!!

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for SPT WA-1010E 10,000-BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote Control

I bought this SPT WA-1010 portable AC unit based on the detailed reviews I had read on Amazon and other websites. We live in a two-story duplex in NE Central FL, with our upstairs bedroom windows facing the South. Needless to say, despite upgrading to the most energy-efficient windows money can buy and keeping the room darkening blinds closed, the temp rises to 81-83 in the afternoons. Our Central A/C thermostat on the main floor is set on 76 or 77. This SPT portable unit did its job of cooling the large bedroom (14 x 19) but beware of the "self-evaporating" feature. The humidity increased to 68% in no time at all when the unit ran. This could be because it was vented thru the window but we had the heavy solid window kit to fit around the vent so that there would be no leaks. We also tried draining the water continually into a closed holder but if we didn't keep the unit running then there was often nothing to drain. The most upsetting issue was the MOLD that started forming as a result of this experiment. I've never had mold issues in any of our homes! Another reviewer had warned readers who lived in tropical climates but since we have the Central Heat/Air running then I didn't think this applied to us. I was wrong.

Bottom line: The A/C works well but it WILL add humidity to your room. Monitor it closely!

We had a DGB-600BC and used it daily for about 4 years. The grinder assembly finally seized and we could no longer remove it. We had been looking around for a new coffee maker, anyway, so we went ahead and bought this one (DGB-650BC) at a local store.

We've been using it for a couple weeks now and it makes a fine cup of coffee, just like the last one did. I noticed right away, that a few things that turned out to be issues with the last model had been fixed or improved upon with this one.

1) The grinder compartment is much better separated from the water reservoir and also designed better for all the grounds to go into the filter basket. The older model always left a bit of a mess, both in the grinder compartment and on the little shelf that separated the filter basket from the coffee pot, and around the burner plate. I haven't seen any of that mess with this model. I can't tell you how happy that makes me.

2) The little shelf I spoke about in #1 is now gone. That's a plus. Since this maker is designed better, it isn't needed anyway. Also, this shelf caused build up around the door latch making it hard to shut after a very short time. I'm glad it's gone.

3) The filter basket door mechanism is far better designed. The old model I had to slam shut, sometimes repeatedly, before it would stay shut. This one has a much better and more sturdy hinge mechanism and latch.

4) New to this model (the old one didn't have this) is a window on the side so you can see how much water you're pouring in. It's clearly marked and has a red floating ball to make it easy to see. I really like this feature.

The grinder seem a little louder than the old one, but I've never met a coffee grinder that wasn't loud and it's only for a very short time. I love having freshly ground coffee first thing in the morning.

As far as cleanup goes for the grinding assembly and filter basket, it only takes a minute or two. Aside from the coffee pot itself, there are 5 pieces to clean and it really is quick and easy to empty the filter basket and rinse the pieces.

In short, this is fine coffee maker, much improved from the DGB-600BC, and I am happy we upgraded to it.

I love the new look! We had the older version for about 6 years. This new one is sleeker and much easier to clean and keep clean (the inside where the grinder sits gets cakey due to condensation). I got it for $149, used Amazon Prime, and had it in a few days! I love it. If you're thinking of getting this grind and brew with stainless carafe, it is nice. Some parts will have to be replaced over the years like the older version, but the taste of the freshly ground coffee every day is worth it. I never pre-heat the carafe like the directions say because that defeats the purpose of the timer. I've never had an issue with the coffee temperature, it's always hot! I also recommend hand-washing over dishwasher. The carbon filters are similar to Brita and can be found for cheap at Kohl's. One other note is it only makes 10 cups as opposed to the typical 12 cups. This is fine for me because it's just me and my husband, but if you need to make a ton of coffee regularly, this may not be a good choice. Overall, I love it and I'm glad I traded up!

Best Deals on Cuisinart DGB-650BC Grind-and-Brew Thermal 10-Cup Automatic

Let me start by admitting that I am a novice when it comes to drinking coffee, much less owning coffee machines. This is the first coffee machine I've ever bought, but I've been very happy with it thus far. If you purchase it, definitely read the directions as there are a couple of small points they bring out, that you wouldn't otherwise know. (For instance, when you place the goldtone coffee filter in, the handle which can rest in either direction, must face outwards.) I just mention this, since I am usually one to NOT read directions, and I'm sure most others who have owned coffe machines wouldn't either, but it seems valuable in this particular case.

The main reason I went with this unit, was Cuisineart had the only ones in Bed Bath & Beyond which can be programmed to grind then brew. I leave it on my desk at work, and have it programmed to grind/brew right before I arrive in the morning. And it's awesome. Only used it several times so far, but no complaints. Cleaning is relatively easy but (like any other coffee brewer/grinder I assume) you have to clean it every day. Not a big deal though, so far I've just been taking the grinder and filter parts out, and rinsing them out. Not sure how important it is to use soap...

The most valuable thing I can tell you, that you won't read on the box, is that the thermal caraffe REALLY DOES work great. I don't pre-heat the caraffe, since I have it sitting out from the night before. I have mine programmed to start brewing at 8:30am. And believe it or not, despite the fact that there is no heater that runs after it's done brewing... the coffee stays HOT for a long time. It stays piping hot for several hours, and even at 2:30pm, it is still drinkably warm. I never expected it to stay that warm for 6 hours, far exceeded my expecations.

Easy to program, but you have to remember to press the Program button each night before. Although, that's not really a big deal since you have to add water and all the other stuff anyway. It's a safety feature really.

Grinder noise isn't super loud, and it only runs for 60 seconds so who cares. Mine is sitting on my desk in my cube, but I program it to run before most people arrive in the office so it's not a problem.

Very short 2ft. power cord with the unit, which will be great for kitchen countertops where you can put it by an outlet, otherwise you might need an extension cord.

Can't speak about reliability. Hopefully they fixed some of the issues people had with this unit's predecessor. Will revise my review later if I have issues.

I've rated it 5 stars, for $129 I feel that I got what I expected and paid for, and really don't have any complaints. I also haven't seen ANYTHING in the market that does what this does, in the same price range. Is there not a demand for coffee grinder/brewers? I mean, why wouldn't you want to have something that you can program to do both before you even wake up? For me, there was no other choice.

Cuisinart has a more expensive model than this one, but it was $70 more and the only feature that really seemed to be valuable was it's "burr grinder" which is supposedly better. But it didn't seem like that was worth $70 more to me, so I thought this was the best value.

Honest reviews on Cuisinart DGB-650BC Grind-and-Brew Thermal 10-Cup Automatic

I ordered this coffee maker knowing that Cuisinart produces very fine products but I have to say I am not real happy with this particular product. The grinder grinds the beans VERY coarse which doesn't make a very strong cup of coffee so I'm back to grinding my coffee with my burr grinder. The setting for 1-4 cups does not make the water warmer as advertised (it comes out luke warm) so I just don't push that button when making a small pot of coffee. I do find that when brewing a full pot it does keep the coffee hot for quite a while. I think, if I order another Cuisinart coffeemaker in the future, that I will pay a little more and get the coffeemaker with the burr grinder and with a hot-plate instead of the thermal carafe.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Cuisinart DGB-650BC Grind-and-Brew Thermal 10-Cup Automatic

For those who want grind and brew features this is the best product for the money. There are the higher priced models but some of us have to stay on a budget. Compared to the earlier version, I've had 3 of the earlier ones; they do tend to break down after 2 years. This model has significant improvements. The best is that it is so much easier to clean the grinding area. The earlier model was next to impossible, this more open design makes it possible to actually get those beans that get into the grinding area out.

In reading the other reviews I did have a few concerns.

1. The sediment from the filter: Well that's the reality of permanent filters. So it's convenience of not having to get those paper things out and over to the trash. If that detail is annoying use paper. Even the high priced machines have that issue and Cuisnart clearly informs you of this issue with a notice before unpacking the product.

2. Noise: The review that goes on about how noisy this machine is. Gad face reality, these are coffee beans getting ground up in somewhat large area in an enclosed area without a lot of sound insulation. It is going to get loud. No louder than a regular coffee grinder and a lot quieter than a garbage disposal. To avoid having the noise in the morning I do the unthinkable, grind the beans the evening before. OK, I'm not a purist.

3. Coffee not the right temp: Face reality, the carafe is going to be the same temp as the room it's sitting in. So it like most people who turn down there temp in their house at night to let's say even 68 degrees at night or even 70, the the physics say the carafe temp is going to be 70. Now, brew coffee and when it gets into the insulated carafe the temp is going to average out. Since the insulated model doesn't have a warming plate, you're may want to take into consideration that you're brewing into a room temp carafe and the coffee temp is going to cool down. Cuisinart clearly informs you that simply warming up the carafe with hot water before brewing takes care of this issue. I easily deal with this when the machine starts brewing you have a good 30-45 seconds before the first drop comes out and the machine does have a function to keep coffee from coming out unless the carafe is properly placed. That gives plenty of time to run some hot water into it, get the inside temp up and the result is coffee at the perfect temp. Now I do have to say that it is very easy for me because I have one of those instant hot water faucets at the sink so I don't have to wait for the hot water to start flowing.

There have been some very good user oriented changes to this model. It's not perfect, but for the money it's the best you're going to find on the market. Take the critics in these reviews with a grain of salt.

Of course one of the reasons I am really, really happy with this machine is that I ran into it when Amazon had it on sale for $110 with a $30 rebate from Cuisinart. My final cost was $85!! I called customer service to see how the rebate would work. They told me a mail-in coupon would come with the product. When the product arrived ( 3 days later, and I used the free standard shipping during the holiday period) there was no rebate coupon. I called customer service and their response was "we'll just add a $30 credit" to your account. I was expecting getting a run around anticipating that they would put the problem off on Cuisinart. But no, Amazon steps up to plate, resolves the problem in less than 1 minute and the credit appeared on my credit card the next day. Now that is customer service!!

My hats off to Amazon to putting the customer first. Beyond the coffee maker at $85 final cost with free shipping, I have to say that Amazon has matured into a very customer focused retailer. They have moved beyond good prices and the convenience of shopping at home; they are real competition to the brick & moter stores. Amazon's focus on the customer actually gives the retail experience a lot of us remember in the "old department store" days.

I have never taken the time to write a product review, but I do enjoy having them available to get unbiased reviews and input. This time I felt it was only fair to take the time to put a realistic perspective to some of the negative reviews while at the same time expressing my positive experience with Amazon. For me Amazon has primarily been a convenience factor, now I shop with them because of their dependability and customer service focus. Price is not the driver for me anymore. I've just learned that if I really want customer service, the most reliable and predictable place to shop is Amazon!!

Cheap Flavorwave Turbo Oven

Flavorwave Turbo Oven
Customer Ratings: 4 stars
Buy Now
A very good cooking appliance, but I gave it 4 start not 5 start, here is why.

I bought a Secura turbo oven a while ago from their website because they offer extended warranty. It is a perfect cooking appliance, and then we noticed there is a similar Flavorwave oven that selling at slightly higher price with less standard accessories. There must be something on Flavorwave oven that makes good even better. But to our surprise, when we received our Flavorwave oven, we immediately realized there are 3 features missing from Secura turbo oven.

First, there is no extender ring; we need to buy it separately which cost extra $30-40. Seems like this is a problem that can be settled by spending more, not sweet, but I can live with it.

Second, the Secura turbo oven has a handle safety button. You need to push the button and then lower the handle to turn on the oven heating. So it does not accidently turn on when you do not intend to. The Flavorwave Oven does not have this feature. When the handle bar is in down position, the oven turns on. Imagine you set your oven top aside after done with cooking, and definitely do not want the oven to heat again which is impossible to happen with Secura oven's safety button. This safety feature is very necessary, I highly recommend to add this feature.

Third, on the Flavorwave oven, the power cord is permanently connected on the oven top, but Secura turbo oven has a detachable power cord. We have been using Secura Turbo oven to cook and serve on dinner table. When the meal is cooked, just remove the oven top and unplug the power cord. It is convenient and do not have to worry about stepping on the power cord by accident. Just a small detail on design that can make a big difference. Flavorwave oven's platinum model 797DH has the detachable power cord design though if you have interests.

Other than these a few difference, Flavorwave and Secura oven are very alike, the craftsmanship, the heavy duty glass blow, wire rack cad power cord, even the parts # printed on the halogen bulb. Then I was told by customer service, that these two are the same manufacturer only the model #s are different. Flavorwave's 767MH vs. Secura's 777MH. Flavorwave's Platinum 797DH vs. Secura's 798DH.

Having these said Flavorwave oven cooks very well. It does best to cook your food crispy outside and juicy inside. Secura turbo oven is a newer model, but the core technologies are the same as Flavorwave oven. Had I do not know Secura turbo Oven, I would have given Flavorwave oven a 5 star.

Okay, so I have to amend my rating to 4 stars. I still hold to my review, and that this thing is more art than science, but it is so much fun, and now that I've gotten good at playing around with it, the food is so tasty, I am bumping it up to 4 stars. The kitchen is not heated up, there is no waiting for pre-heat, there is no defrosting. Once I bumped up the temperature a little higher, moved the food around a little bit, threw away the times and temps from the instructions manual, and just messed around, everything is coming out delicious.

So, it may not cook as fast as Mr. T says it will, but seriously: I pity the fool who does not buy a halogen oven!

Flavorwave cooking is really more an art then science.

Some pros and cons:

Pro 1: Cook from Frozen! It really does defrost and cook your food from frozen, and faster than a regular oven, which is a huge plus for us busy families. When you cook chicken or fish in a conventional oven, from frozen, for let's say 35 minutes, the food comes out dry because the outside is overcooked and the inside is under or just cooked. With the Flavor-wave, it is as promised: Your food is cooked both inside and out. The chicken is juicy and the fish is flaky, there are no raw-spots on the chicken, and there are no extra dry spots on the fish.

Pro 2: Master Potatoes! It makes perfect potatoes every single time. I've tried enormous bakers, frozen fries, sweet potatoes: The fries come out crispy, and the large baker is absolutely perfect, inside and out, and fast too.

Pro 3: Huge Fun Factor! Yes, it's fun! Watching the light go on and off, watching your food cook inside the bowl. Kind of amazing, and even clean-up is playful and toy-like.

The cons:

Con 1: Not Piping Hot Food: While I am confident that the food comes out fully cooked, it does not come out piping hot, like it does in the oven. For me, it feels like cooked food that's been allowed to cool off for maybe 10 minutes. It's not a concern safety-wise, meaning, the food is clearly fully cooked, both inside and out. It's just that, food is so much better when it is piping hot, where you must blow on it to cool it down. Food does not exit the flavor-wave with that kind of heat intensity and mouth-feel.

Con 2: Simulated oven-feel: The chicken and fish comes out almost poached, to me. So the chicken is a little too juicy on the inside, and not crispy enough on the outside. Strange, almost simulated, but not quite like the oven: My salmon is flaky, but does not have that seared feel on the outside, that I might get from a conventional oven.

Con 3: Awkward Bowl: I find pulling food out from the bottom rack to be a little difficult. With chicken and perhaps meat, not a problem because you can use tongs. But with fish, you are going at it with a spatula, and on that bottom rack, because of the bowl, that means you are coming in at a downward angle, and with the round tines to the rack, awkward. I've blown it a couple times, with the fillet falling into a couple pieces before making it to the plate. The top rack, not so much of a problem, but I prefer putting the fish on the bottom rack, and potatoes and veggies on the top, otherwise the fish will drip on the veggies and taters, and that's not good for anyone.

So it's a mixed bag, and hence, the 3 stars. You will probably enjoy the Flave, but it is not a replacement to your oven. It's really convenient, especially during the week, when fresh salmon is not sitting in my fridge after a long day, and for the weekdays especially (and those potatoes), I'm keeping it.

But, the Flavor-Wave is more art than science, and it will take some playing around with it, to get things just right.

I bought my 1st Flavorwave oven from manufacture, it was pretty good. I noticed Amazon is selling at a very tempting price(Only later I realized it was sold by seller W***** Best Deals, not from Amazon). It shipped pretty fast from Minnesota, which is good, but when I received it I can tell it looks very similar with my 1st flavorwave oven, but I did notice some difference. I plugged in and turned it on, immediately the fan gave a strange noise, apparently something is wrong in there. I called manufacturer and explained what happened, they can not guarantee it is a genuine Flavorwave oven unless I can find a S/N # on the machine. I looked around and read the rep all the #s I can find on the machine. Guess what? none of them is a valid S/N #. The manufacturer will not help me if it was not bought from them directly, leaving me very upset. I am new to Amazon, did not realize there are so many complications, hoping this post will help others.

Honest reviews on Flavorwave Turbo Oven

So I bought it recently and a have used it a few times.

1. It's pretty big and bulky so make sure you have room for this on the counter or elsewhere for storage. P.s the lid is heavy too so be careful when you lift it gets quite hot!

2. I've made burgers, fries and biscuits in it pretty easy stuff. The burgers came out perfectly cooked from frozen (it's good to flip halfway thru on the meats the book says so I did) and the fries where great. It said that you use the top rack for the fries but it's difficult because it falls thru the slots (maybe for homemade as those are bigger) I did buy along with it the accessory pack (all of these items I bought from Amazon) so I used the steamer basket. Perfect. The biscuits were fine they browned well. Oh I want to tell you that the accessories are made out of non stick, best I've ever had nothing stuck at all and I didn't even spray it!Flavorwave Turbo Oven 4-Piece Deluxe Accessory Set

3. The cooking guide is not very helpful for times so you may have to play with it. It says it's a guideline for the times that's the only real beef I have with it. I would also like a more comprehensive list for what item and how hot and how long.

4. I tried the self cleaning mode and that was pretty amusing and actually works! All the stuff stuck at the bottom was easy to get out after that (I did try to clean before the cycle).

So far I am enjoying this machine and plan to make a whole chicken in it on Tuesday so more experimenting to come. As far as the claim as it cooks faster that other methods, MAYBE it is faster than the oven but maybe not a grill. Either way I am happy with it mostly because I can cook two thing at once without messing up my stove. So I hope it lasts I plan to use it a lot.

Three months after purchase, I was cooking some Salmon and asparagus for a healthy meal after a long day. I plugged it in, set the temp, turned it on and BOOM.. Smoke and glass everywhere, I had to immediately open the windows to ensure the smoke detector didn't go off. Food was obviously ruined, so we called the company. They were not willing to help at all, mainly because we just moved into a new house and had no idea where the receipt was. I'm sorry, I understand a receipt is required for defective products, but if your product explodes and shoots glass everywhere than that is beyond a defective. It is a danger, and I'd highly recommend people be very careful of this product. Thankfully my daughter was not in the room when it happened.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Addition as of Dec. 19, 2012: We've been using this heater constantly for weeks now that it's cold and I'd give it even more stars if it were possible. It's small, doesn't raise our electric bill much, and heats out big living room all by itself, and quickly. I've always preferred space heaters to whole-house heaters and nearly always buy one every season -never the same kind. If this one ever breaks down, I'll get another of the same kind. One of the most impressive things about it is the "low" setting. It goes low enough that I can put it right next to my feet and it warms without overheating my skin and making it itch. My cat also can comfortably sleep with it inches from his face without problems. I absolutely love this heater. (Below is my original review.)

Here in southern California, we don't need heavy duty heaters. In fact, I virtually never use the whole-house heater because I prefer, even in winter, to have a cold face and warm feet. I've been using little space heaters like this for at least 20 years.

We have a 13X20 foot living room and I set this Bionaire heater up in the usual place: beneath the edge of a very large double-decker glass coffee table. This way, my feet get hit, my husband, sitting kitty-cornered from me in his Laz-E-Boy gets a nice blast, and the table warms, which is an absolute necessity according to our cats. Some heaters accomplish only these requirements, but the Bionaire also easily heats the entire room, and quickly. The oddly rotating grill definitely amps things up, too. It's perfect for our needs.

Finally, and most importantly in our multi-cat household, if the heater tips over, it turns off. Last year I bought a heater for $60 -the Bionaire is only $35 -and it didn't have a safety shut off. (I hadn't even thought to check -I assumed it had one because of the price, and you know what happens when you assume...) Because of this, I couldn't leave the heater on for the cats as I normally do on the coldest nights. This year, our cats will be much happier. Recommended!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I'm always scouting for a better space heater for our guest bedroom/sewing room. It's the "bonus room," the large room above the garage, and is very chilly during the winter.

I have been using the original little ceramic heater made by Pelonis, Pelonis B-6A1, Classic 4 Disc Ceramic Safety Furnace, Brown. The Bionaire is about 1/3 larger than the Pelois and is about half the price. The Bionaire threw lots of heat, enough to warm up the room in short order. The rotating grill did disburse the heat more evenly and seemed to spread the warmth quicker than the Pelonis. Nevertheless, the ceramic disc design of the Pelonis is probably still the gold standard for space heaters.

My Bionaire was missing the owner's manual. There was no documentation of any kind in the box just the heater. However, the operation is fairly straightforward and self-evident. Some instructions are printed on the side of the box.

The Bionaire has an automatic cutoff, so, of course, I tried it. Upon tipping over the heater, the cutoff switch activated. I tried to restart it and, nothing! Then, I read on the side of the box that you must wait 30 minutes for the heater to cool down before restarting. Probably, a good safety feature.

The cord of the Bionaire is long enough that you don't need an extension. Space heaters are not supposed to be used with extension cords. A nifty little feature is a cord storage area on the bottom of the heater. Neatness counts.

This is only the second product I've bothered to review, despite purchasing on average over two products per week on Amazon. I do, however, appreciate all those who do write reviews and wish I had the energy to pitch in. BUT this product is so wonderful, I just had to write. It gives off plenty of heat to raise the temperture in my bedroom, which is approximately 20+' by 20+' and has a little alcove, which I use as a study EVEN WITH THE BEDROOM DOOR OPEN as it is now.

I have a thermostat in the room and this little space heater can raise the temperature from 64 to 70 degrees and keep it there. It does not have an odor that is annoying and most important, it does not get hot to the touch ANYWHERE and is quite simple to operate. Some reviews say their unit failed in 3 or so months (or even in a shorter time). Well, all companies produce a lemon or two. I've only had this product about 3 weeks and mine's fine. But even if it fails in a month or so, I'd buy another next year. At this price, for this performance, it's worth it.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Bionaire Heat Circulator with rotating grill works great. We have had a few chilly nights here lately, perfect to give this heater a try ,it works great! Believe me when I tell you I have several different makes and types of heaters . This one holds it own with the best of them. It has a pleasing shape and two heat settings. You can also turn off the grill rotation. I also like the tip over overheat safty feature.I put it on high and it warmed an open 12 x 13 ft room with 9 ft ceilings. The only thing that took getting used to was the way the grill rotates. It slowly goes around instead of from side to side. It works just as well as my tower heater and as an added bonus the rotation of the grill mesmerizes my dog. Give this one a try I'm sure you will like it.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I got this for my kids (aged 4 and 5) for when they get out of the bath tub. I put it in the adjoining bathroom (they have a jack and jill bath with separate sinks) and it heats the room up nicely for when they get out of the tub (and start screaming at the top of their lungs how cold they are) and makes the drying experience much more pleasant for all of us. I recently tried it on our sunroom after a rug got wet and we wanted to speed up the drying. That was a much larger room (14x14) and it was not nearly as effective. Still, it did warm the room some.

It is very quiet and overall it works very well. For smaller (11x11 or smaller?) rooms it is very effective and seems very safe. No hot, glowing wires or anything like that. It is very "plastic" and doesn't look engineered to handle a beating, but it works well and I would recommend it for anyone looking to improve the heating in a room, or counter-effect a draft or for our use, of heating a small bathroom area it is great!

This fireplace is very lovely. It has multiple light and heat settings. It is very attractive!! However, it is also a bit too loud. For the price, I expect it to be quieter. Our other complaint is that the top is not a solid piece, but made of 3 pieces. However, it is cute and looks nice in our corner and I am keeping it, but it was expensive and I wish I could figure out how to quiet the sound a bit.

Great filters, less expensive than leading brand. They seem wobbly and flimsy compared to their thicker version with leading brands but they are less fragile. With careful insertion in the filterframes I did not have any trouble. Once in they are sturdy and do not make noise whenever airco switches on/off. Has immediately improved airquality in our home. Huge reduction noticable in dust flying around! Verry happy with my purchase. One thing i'd like to see improved is a smaller packing box. They were shipped in original box that would have easily fit 30filters in there. Shipping air is not sustainable ....

This heater operates as advertised if the thermocouple-secured shutoff valve allows the flame to turn on. It takes a lot of fiddling with the shutoff valve to turn to the two 'on' positions even after the pilot has been lit for 15 min. The pilot alignment appears to be as shown on the instruction manual. I find this difficult lighting to be a nuisance.
