We feel like the covers are a good value for the money and so far so good. We have only had them for a few weeks but the covers are doing exactly what we bought them for, to protect the heating elements!

PATIO HEATER COVER Reviews
Why pay more? All you want to do is keep your patio heater from rusting or becoming a critter nest. I have 2 which have been through rain and storm. No problems. Thought they might be flimsy, but they are fine.

This heater does a great job of heating my 24x26 two car garage in northern Indiana. It arrived from the seller within 48hours of placing my order with standard delivery. The only thing that keeps it from being a five star is lack of a mounting assembly. A little bit of chain wrapped around a ceiling joist took care of that though. It does require a special 240 volt outlet, but the materials to run it can be purchased at any home improvement store. It took me about 20 minutes to run the wire and install the outlet and breaker.Best Deals on Qmark BRH562 Contactor Heater - BRH Series Red
I live in Texas and have a 520 sq ft garage with ceiling/walls insulated, 1 car garage door not insulated and 3 windows. I checked around for code requirements in our area and wired the 240 v/30 amp electrical myself. Mounted the unit hanging down from the ceiling, turned it on and in 2 hours it already had the upper half of the garage up to 60f degrees when 35f outside. Let it run overnight and the garage was 75f next morning....low to mid 30s outside. Thermostat on the unit turns off the fan and heater coils once chosen temperature is reached. Shipper had issues getting the unit shipped... stated waiting for manufacture to ship. Per Amazon's recommendation, I had to send a followup e-mail to shipper to get status of shipment. After that, the shipper sent status mails until the unit had a shipping tracking number. If you need this unit, order early. Took 2 weeks to arrive from the day I ordered it. For our needs ... great price, compact unit and heats as expected.Honest reviews on Qmark BRH562 Contactor Heater - BRH Series Red
I bought this unit to heat small area in my garage. I tested it but didn't need it for two years. The first time I used it for one hour the fan stopped. I tried to buy a new motor but it has no size info on it. Called Marley, they have no info because they import it. They said just buy a new unit. Review of Bissell 9300-P ProHeat 2x Turbo Carpet Deep Cleaner
My old Hoover steam cleaner just quit working so I decided to buy a new one. I looked at Hoover reviews and Bissell reviews. In the past I had one of those old Bissell cleaners that hooked up to the sink, lots of cables, cords, etc. Cleaned great but what a nightmare. Anyway, I was ready to get another Hoover because I read
bad reviews of the Bissell, but there were also good reviews so I took a chance. I LOVE this machine. The two in one (bladder and dirty water) worked great. I didn't have to lug around two separate containers like in the Hoover. It worked fine. The dirty water did not contaminate the clean. I also like the fact that it heats the
water another 25 degrees. The Hoover water got cold pretty quick. The Hoover had rotating round brushes. I
never liked that. I felt it just pushed the dirt around on the floor and didn't pick it up. The Bissell has the roller rotating brushes and boy does it pick up the dirt and also grooms the carpet. It looks new. There were chunks
of dog hair and rug fiber around the floor. I didn't mind picking it up since I knew that hair was no longer in the carpet. I guess my vacuum cleaner needs to be updated too. I vacuum almost every day because of our
dog but obviously lots of fur was still in the rug. The Hoover never picked it up like that. Yes, I have only
used it once but I have a feeliing this will be a long relationship. Oh yes, you can really get the whole thing clean. I could never get the fibers and hair from under the cap of the Hoover (area where dirty water is sucked up). With the Bissell I could take it all apart and wash everything! I am sold.
My last cleaner was also a Bissell upright of similar design and I was pleased with the results it gave and its durability. I think we had it for seven years until it finally gave up the ghost. The 9300 kept all the best ideas from this earlier model and fixed most if not all of its defects. Built-in water heater? Check. Fresh and gray water in the same tank? Check. Vacuum cleaner-style rotating brushes? Check. Upright design with tools on board? Check.
What's better is more brushes. I've read some reviews that appeared to be written out of ignorance about what's important in a cleaning system. Detergent with water is essentially a solvent, and solvents work best with soak-time. Fill a sink with cold, soapy water, dump your dishes in and go away for a few hours. When you come back, you can generally just rinse them off--the solvent has done its job, but it takes time. You can reduce that time with heat. Do the same thing with very hot water, and the dishes will be rinseable within 20-30 minutes. You can further reduce that time with mechanical action--rub your pots, pans and dishes with a sponge and they are clean in seconds. These are the things you need to look for in a carpet cleaner.
1. Detergent delivery and removal. The 9300 does a great job at this. The detergent tank is easily visible at the back of the power head and four settings allow you to control the mix--more detergent for heavily soiled areas, to none at all for rinsing. The design of the vacuum uptake is very similar to the older models, and works very well by being in position buried in the carpet pile. What's really improved is the fact that its now part of the tank cover, easily removed and rinsed. Its not just a clean-freak thing--keeping this tool clean insures consistent performance every time you use the machine. It was a real chore to clean the old one properly, and on a couple of occasions I had to disassemble it.
2. Heat and brushes. This is a big deal--far more important that a powerful vacuum motor in my opinion. The water is twenty or so degrees short of boiling and the 9300 has 12--count 'em, twelve rotating brushes! I was amazed how much better the 9300 was over the older model I had in getting the carpet clean in just a pass or two. I figure that I cut a third off the time it used to take me to clean all the broadloom. It might be as much as a 50% reduction, but I'm still in the rhythm of older machine so I tend to go over a section more than I probably have to.
Other aspects of the 9300 design are more subtle, but make for a much better experience. The tool holder is a huge improvement, and the package I got had a lot more tools, but what I really noticed was the handling--yeah, the 'handling'. I suspect its the brushes, the unit just glides so much easier than the previous model I had. Cleaning the carpet has always been my job because the equipment was always so bulky and the effort required just a tad too robust for my sub-five foot spouse. Its still a beast compared to some of the ultra-light-weigh vacuum cleaners out on the market, but its a tame beast. An average sized woman shouldn't have any problem handling it. Speaking of handles, there's a new one about half way up the machine that's a head-smacker idea (as in, why didn't they think of this before?) I've got two levels, and taking the old model up the stairs could put your back out if you weren't careful. Now I just grab the middle handle and its a breeze.
Everything is better. I was so impressed I wrote a review on Amazon--who does that?
Some caveats. My main complaint about Bissell over the years is that their units are too lightly built. I take care of my tools, but I've broken something on every Bissell I've ever had. The 9300 is better, but still a bit delicate in parts. Its not a flaw, its a compromise--a necessity for a tool that benefits enormously from lighter weight. Don't throw this unit around--treat it like a good camera. Clean it thoroughly and store the tools properly before putting it away. If you take care of it, there should be no reason you won't still be cleaning carpets with it in five to ten years.
I called company, and they cannot do anything as entire base of unit is involved.
I will be returning unit. BAD DESIGN!!!!!

I've had six carpet cleaners over the past twenty years and frankly I'm always a little shocked when I meet people who don't have one. With really good carpet cleaners available for two hundred or less, its a no-brainer. You'll save money on professional cleaning and keep the carpet looking good for longer before replacement. Of course the real benefit is that you don't have to walk on disgusting carpets. My last cleaner was also a Bissell upright of similar design and I was pleased with the results it gave and its durability. The Bissell ProHeat 2x works like a champ. It removed tons of dirt and grime as well as loose carpet fibers. The added scotchgaurd in the carpet cleaning formula also ensures months of stain free living. My only con would be that there isn't an indicator for the water/cleaner level.Honest reviews on Bissell 9300-P ProHeat 2x Turbo Carpet Deep Cleaner
We had ours for almost two and a half years. It worked really great until a few months ago. It just seems it has lost its suction and is leaving more and more water in the carpet, which also means, leaving more and more dirt. However, I figure the cost of it is basically one commercial cleaning. We have animals and it has saved us several hundreds of dollars over the two years it worked good, not to mention, just keeping the carpets and furniture looking and smelling cleaner. I am going to go out and buy another one. I don't think you can beat this machine for its cost and ease of use.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Bissell 9300-P ProHeat 2x Turbo Carpet Deep Cleaner

I have used this fuel for years and have never had any issues or problems. It says not to use it in firepots, but that's all I do with it. I think its just a safety thing saying severe burns could result, but that's true whenever your using fuels right? It is a thick gel consistency that lights easily with a lighter or match.Best Deals on Real Flame 2264 Ventless Fireplace Fuel, 8-Pack
The Real Flame Gel is safe to use and gives you a crackling sound when burning which provides the best type of fuel to use for that realistic fire pit experience. Real flame appearence and crackling sound comes with an expense. I found 91% isopropyl alcohol to work but it does not make any sound and is a liquid which must be handled carefully when filling the two trays.Thursday, February 20, 2014

Discount Johnson Controls Digital Thermostat Control Unit
I use the thermostat to control the temperature in a chest freezer that I use for fermenting beer (35-55 F). The controller works great for this purpose. I also have a second one that I plan on using to operate a HERMS device for my mashing system. You can set the controller to operate a heater or cooling device but you must reposition "jumpers" inside the unit (not difficult but a pain if you plan on doing it often). If you want a unit that switches automatically betweem cooling and heating, you are better off with the more expensive Ranco controller.
This particular controller will allow you to set the target temperature (as either a closing or openning point), the number of degrees of variance from target before the unit turns on/off, a time delay before the unit is allowed to reactivate the device(great for extending the life of a freezer or fridge), power supply on/off option in the case of unit failure and options for using remote monitoring/controlling if you choose to upgrade.
For the money, it is the best value on the market. No wiring required, simply plug in the device to the controller and the controller into the wall. The Ranco offers more options if you prefer to wire your own device or you can go all out and use a Love or other commercial controller that is fully customizable but is best mounted into a control device panel. Check out for examples of what can be done with more sophisticated controller units.
SP: setpoint (for my purpose 67) the temperature you want the thing to try and maintain.
dIF: differential (1 to 30F, default = 5) I leave at default, this is the point + or from the setpoint temp (so 62 to 73 in my case.
ASd: anti-short cycle delay (0 to 12 minutes, default = 1)I set to 12 minutes, just to put the least amount of stress on the compressor.
I recommend it!
I also purchased the Stainless Steel Toast Rack: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LWVJHA/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and the IRIS Stainless Steel Cutting Board Organizer / Napkin Holder
The toast holder or Cutting Board Organizer / Napkin Holder can be wired to the handle of the grill press sitting on the bottom of the crock pot and used to hold smaller individually sealed pieces of meat or steaks to keep them submerged in the bath and separated.
So for a total of $177.18, I got myself, what I think, is a very nice sous vide set up that can be adapted to a variety of sizes and pieces of meat or seafood.
Addendum: 7/18/2013
Used the sous vide for the first time this weekend and it's performance was stellar. I cooked a plain, old, run of the mill, chuck roast with nothing but salt and pepper on it. I cooked it at 142 degrees for 2 1/2 days. However, next time I need to reduce the temp some. When I took it out it was medium well and I prefer medium rare. It was just pink, but no red juices. I must say though, even though it was done more than I prefer, it was the best roast beef I have ever had, anywhere, anytime. You literally could eat this without teeth it was so tender. I cut mine in pieces and dipped it in steak sauce. It really rivaled a filet mignon. If you have the time and can plan ahead, this is the only way to cook meat. I am going to do a pork loin in the sous vide for pulled pork for a pot luck I have coming up next month.

Using this for home brewing. Connected to a small chest freezer. It controlled my 7 gallon fermentation vessel as well as the corny kegs. Setting the thresholds could be easier but once you understand it works exactly as advertised.Honest reviews on Johnson Controls Digital Thermostat Control Unit
I have been looking at sous vide water ovens for years now, but could just not bring myself to spend $500 or more on one. Then I discovered the Johnson Controls Control unit. I paired this unit with the Maxi-Matic MST-800V Elite Gourmet Large 8-1/2-Quart Slow Cooker, a Danesco Roasting Rack Oval 6x9 Inch Non-stick (which fits perfectly in the bottom of the slow cooker, and a Weber 6479 Grill Press (cast iron, but covered in enamel so it won't rust). The grill press is heavy enough to hold the vacuum sealed bag with meat in it down again against the roasting rack. I use a plastic twist tie to attach the temperature probe to the handle of the grill press for accurtate water temp measurement. The temp. contoller is very easy to change from cooling to heating and directions are easy to understand in the following youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prbWgMY3c5cI also purchased the Stainless Steel Toast Rack: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LWVJHA/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Using to regulate the temp of my kegerater. Current refrigerator didnt have a digital thermostat just a dial from cold to coldest. This keeps the fridge/ kegerater exactly within the easy to program temp range. It could not work better. Would also work great for an in-wall AC unit.Friday, February 7, 2014

I bought this heater for my front room where I teach music lessons. That room has always been hard to heat, but now it's easy to get it nice and cozy in there. The room is about 400 square feet and within about 30 minutes after turning on this nice little heater, the room starts filling up with warmth. I'm so glad that it's stylish and doesn't look awkward in my front room like other space heaters would. I also love how safe it is, the top and sides don't get hot and even the grill where the heat comes out doesn't get hot enough to burn. I found out when a baby was visiting yesterday, she reached out and touched it then pulled her hand away quick, but it didn't leave a mark and she didn't even cry.

Review of Bonavita Bona Voyage 0.5-Liter Electric Travel Kettle
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $39.99
Sale Price: $34.95
Today's Bonus: 13% Off

I'm a tea drinker and I travel frequently. I always travel with my own tea and disposable cups so I only need to seek out hot water. Most hotels (and even Starbucks at the airports) will fill your cup with hot water for free (and to my surprise, some places will actually want to charge for hot water). My challenge is wanting hot water first thing in the morning or late at night in my hotel room without wanting to get dressed and seek it out, and NOT have to rely on the in-room coffee maker (who knows how or when those things are ever cleaned and what fluids have been run through them). My first stop when I travel is to pick up a case of bottled water ($4.00 per case or $6.00 for a single bottle in the hotel room no brainer), and this kettle is sized for a 16 oz bottle of water. It is small enough to put in your carry on, and light enough not to eat up that extra valuable pound for your checked luggage. I've traveled three times so far, used it about 25 times and it is just perfect. It boils the water quick, is maintenance free, and is easy to clean. What more could you ask for? I've seen this exact looking kettle for much more around the web. On my next trip, I will add some packs of instant oatmeal for those early morning calls (and who wants to pay twenty something dollars for a $6.00 breakfast delivered to your room). I love this product and will take this everywhere with me.
I have not decided if I'm going to keep it though. I did 3 "test" runs boiling water as per the instruction booket. I made sure to not fill above the "max" line. The water boils fine, but there is a strong plastic odor and taste I'm assuming from the steam condensing on the plastic cover.
No other reviewers have mentioned this issue. So either I have a defective product, or have greater sensitivity to plastic-tasting/smelling water.
I'll try some more test-runs with the cover off as other posters said the kettle works without the cover, but the auto shut-off is disabled. I can handle watching the kettle for 3 minutes. We'll see....
Update:
Did a few test runs without the cover and decided to keep the little unit. There are no other small electric Kettle options available (that are not plastic). Boiling the water with the lid removed gives the results I need hot water with no plastic taste or smell.

I read the review of this product and thought, this is just what I want, even though the other review was so negative. Well, it showed up in delivery yesterday and it is just what I was looking for.. it's a sturdy little pot and heats the water very quickly, and there is no plastic touching the waterstainless steel body. It has a "max" line to show where the pint marker is, but there is room for another cup or so in there. I think if you boiled it with the lid off, you would be okay, but it might not turn itself off, as it does when the lid is on and you stick to the "max" line. The cord is sturdy, and it is perfect for how I am going to use it,, in my little trailer, when I want a hot beverage and don't want to light up the propane stove. It would also be good for people who want boiling water, not just hot water like you get with a microwave. In a pinch, one could boil an egg or heat up soup in this, as long as you do so without the lid, and are careful cleaning out the pot without submerging the base in water. I hope it is as sturdy as it looks. Looks quality, feels quality,, I love it!Best Deals on Bonavita Bona Voyage 0.5-Liter Electric Travel Kettle
Hi, I was looking for a small kettle to make tea in my home. The size is perfect. Would be better if the base was detachable, but I can live with that.I have not decided if I'm going to keep it though.

Honest reviews on Bonavita Bona Voyage 0.5-Liter Electric Travel Kettle
I use this kettle every day at work and it's a key part of my travel coffee making kit. The kettle has a suggested max of 500ml, but if you dont mind a wet desk and some hot fingers you could get 800ml. The spout is pretty decent and as far as I can tell the kettle only has 2 flaws. The first is the plastic lid. Plastic is a no-no in water kettles and although this isnt as bad as a full plastic model like the Bodum, it still gives the water an awful paint smell and taste. I used it a couple times and noticed that if I stay in the recommended 500ml water level, the splash is pretty minimal and boils 500ml in about 3.30 minutes without it. Without the lid a Aeropress fits right inside. The second bummer is the cord is fixed to the unit. Wish it was detachable or at the very least some kind of internal storage. Would help for packing, but more for pouring the cord can get in the way if not careful. Especially in a hotel room where there rarely is a outlet where you want it and carrying boiling water with a cord dangling around isn't fun.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Bonavita Bona Voyage 0.5-Liter Electric Travel Kettle
This kettle was just what I wanted in terms of size. It is not easy to find an electric half-liter kettle, so I was devastatede when the kettle stopped working this morning. That's after only 3 weeks of use, boiling water in it just once daily. Do not buy this product.Thursday, October 31, 2013

This chair has positives: Good looking, solid construction, easy to assemble and reasonably priced. However, I returned the two I bought because they were uncomfortable for me to sit in because of the flat back. Adirondack chairs appear to have two designs for chair backs -The flat back like this chair and the curved back. For me, the curved back is much more comfortable, though more expensive.
They arrived when they were suppose to; one box was slightly damaged, but the parts were fine. We assembled them and put them outside. From when I got them (mid June 2012) until November they were in full sun. I covered them with a tarp during the winter months.
I just pulled them out again in mid April (2013) and they still look great. I did not notice any fading, which was my main concern. They appear just as they were advertised. They get lots of compliments and are very sturdy. I am happy
If they would have come assembled, I would have given the 5th star.

I bought 2 polywood lounge chairs last year and love them. Just received 2 polywood adriondack chairs and their great too. They are well made and will look lovely on my patio. Can't wait to use them. I recommend them to anyone who doesn't have room to store. I left my lounge chairs out all winter and they look great. The cold and snow did not effect them.Best Deals on POLYWOOD Classic Folding Adirondack
After years of replacing wooden Adirondack chairs, we finally switched to synthetic fiber chairs. These chairs are made with recycled materials and are very sturdy and solid. These chairs were easy to assemble and look great. We have them on our front patio and have gotten tons of comments on how great they look. They are also very comfortable.Honest reviews on POLYWOOD Classic Folding Adirondack

I was looking for some chairs to use around our fire pit. I wanted a fun color and something that I could just leave out, and not worry about fading, rusting, etc. I found these, and ordered 4 of them along with a side table. They arrived when they were suppose to; one box was slightly damaged, but the parts were fine.
