My husband wanted to buy one of these last fall, and I was unconvinced. We had a power outage last winter when it was -30 degrees outside and suffered for three days with no heat in our house. After that, I was persuaded to go along with his "crazy" idea. We are using this as a natural gas heat source. The great part about it is that if we lose electricity again this winter, we will still be able to stay warm and comfortable. One of the things I like about it is the moisture that is put into the air by the gas burning. The humidity in our house is staying around 60 degrees when we have the stove running. We are going to get rid of the old humidifier, as it is no longer needed. We are both very pleased with our purchase.

We had a professional run the gas line and hook it up for us, and bought a CO2 alarm for the house, for safety.

I have three propane fireplaces in my home. I love being able to warm up a room quickly and watch the fire dance. This one looks nice and sets up easily except that the instructions didn't say where the battery for the electronic starter went. A phone call answered that question easily (you unscrew the starter button). If you are looking for a reasonably priced stove that puts out a lot of heat, it does. Unfortunately for me, the room I put it in is only 13x16 and it heats up so fast that I can't sit and watch the fire for very long. So if you like to sit and watch flames dance, consider getting a smaller stove. My other concern is that when it kicks on, the gas comes out for several seconds before it catches fire with a big "whosh." My other fireplaces don't do that. As long as it is in a big room and far from any curtains or fabric, it is probably perfectly safe, but where I have it, I turn it off when I leave the room just to be safe.

If you are deciding between a vent-free and direct-vent stove, first make sure you have enough space to support a vent-free stove. If you do, I found the look to be much nicer than the direct-vent. The flames dance more, and they put out lots more usable heat.

I purchased the Bainbridge II Dual Fuel Freestanding Stove with an optional blower attachment. The Stove works great for its intended purpose. The blower on the other hand did not work at all. When I purchased these items I believed they were going to be brand new products like the item description stated. The blower came in a box that had the return receipt of another customer still inside it. So, someone else returned it because it didn't work and then the company resells it to me as brand new! I have exchanged a couple of e-mails with the company about it but then nothing. They have gone unheard of! I'm now out $100 because this company refused to stand behind their sale. Look around for a different seller.

Honest reviews on Bainbridge II Dual Fuel Freestanding Vent Free Stove Model GSD3033

Love this stove. I have a fairly big room (17x24 with arch ceiling) that has electric heat (rest of the house is propane). This room at very best in the winter (New England) was sort of warm. I never use the electric anymore. This stove not only provides lots of cozy heat but it actually heats the rest of the house as well. The logs are pretty real looking, especially at night. I am using just the stove without the blower attachment. The sides and rear of the stove stay cool all the time.

The downside is the starter button. When I unscrew the cap to put in the battery the starter fell back through the hole. Just remove the 2 screws that hold the face plate and then it is a piece of cake.

I bought this gas stove last autumn (a full year ago) when my home's furnace died, as an interim measure until I replaced an ancient oil fired furnace from the 1920s with electric heat. I live in Philadelphia where it gets COLD, in a 1920s two-story row house of about 1000 square feet, with no insulation in the attic, and old single-glazed aluminum windows. I never intended to use this to heat the house, it was meant to add some ambience and serve as an emergency heat source.

Well, this little stove stepped up to the challenge, in ways I NEVER thought it could. It was very easy to set it up, the instructions were very clear and straightforward; anyone with moderate plumbing skills can do it. It's nice and wide, an ideal height, and not very deep so it fits better in a small living room than any other stove I could find. The thermostat works very well at regulating a steady heat, and works in two stages, adjusting the flame height according to how much demand there is for heat. In mild autumn weather it cycles on and off on its own and easily maintains a constant temperature. In the coldest weather of January it runs pretty much continually, but will cycle between a low flame and a high flame depending on the need for extra heat (e.g., when someone opens the front door). Even without using a fan, this stove is capable of maintaining a comfortable temperature throughout the house, THE ENTIRE YEAR! I still haven't replaced my furnace, and this little stove is ready for its 2nd heating season.

Now, because there is no central heating plant (yet, I'm working on that, but I think I'll just install electric baseboard heaters because they're cheaper and I won't ever use them anyway) the basement gets cold. SO! I purchased a gas ventless "garage heater" and installed it downstairs (FOLLOW THIS LINK, HERE: ProCom Dual Fuel Vent-Free Blue Flame Garage Heater 30,000 BTU, Model# MD300TGA ) it's not as pretty but just as efficient. Now the basement is warm, the floors on the main floor are nice and toasty warm, and the temperature is more even. Perfect! And I am saving a TON on heating bills. In the coldest month my gas bill was only $200. And to be fair I should point out that I have gas hot water, a gas clothes dryer, gas oven and cooktop, gas bar-b-que.

As far as safety, I installed a C02 monitor on each floor and the basement. None of them have ever gone off, so the people that say you'll get sick from too mich C02 are nuts. It's no different than using your gas cooktop (which doesn't have a chimney, either, and I've never heard of anyone getting sick from having a gas range). Ventless stoves burn differently than do gas appliances that are designed to have chimneys they are NOT the same. The downside? Because ventless appliances have to burn cleanly the flame isn't as "pretty" as a vented fireplace the flame is more blue and less yellow, and not as large. So turn the lights down if you want to see the flame! Even though the "fire" is not as dramatic as a wood fireplace or vented gas fireplace, IT'S 100% EFFICIENT! no WASTE! Every penny you spend on gas stays IN your house as heat. Nothing goes up a chimney. You'd have to spend thousands on a gas furnace to compare to the efficiency of this stove, and even then no furnace is more than 97% efficient. And these expensive high-efficiency gas furnaces still use a lot of electricity, too, to operate the controls and the fan this stove doesn't need ANY electricity. It's worth having a less exciting blaze knowing you're spending hundreds less on your gas (and electric) bill, isn't it?? Any drawbacks? Yes if you have a dusty environment or are fond of using a lot of air-contaminating air fresheners (or if you smoke indoors, or use cleaners with heavy scents all which ARE bad for your lungs) these airborne particles will be burnt up by the stove, as well. The result is a gray ash film will build up on the inside of the stove around the flame, and on articles near the stove. I am doing renovations, which makes my house dustier than is typical for most people; I have a mirror above the stove and I have to clean it every 2 or 3 months because a faint film of ash builds up. It's easy enough to wipe it off with a damp cloth or glass cleaner. It DID improve when I bought a Dyson vacuum cleaner (awesome!) which significantly reduced the level of dust in my home. Now to be fair, if you've ever used an open fireplace, or a wood stove for heat, this is NOTHING compared to the soot and dust that using a wood fire produces in your home!! Other than that, this little stove is amazing

Buy the stove stop looking for a better model, there isn't one. Just do it, it will pay for itself in a couple of months, AND you'll have the pleasure of an open flame to stare at, and being toasty warm, on those cold blustery nights when your neighbors are bundled up in blankets trying to save a few dollars on their gas bill!

The item shipped quickly and was delivered by UPS. For us the stoveboard is the perfect size for our rectangular kerosene heater. It does a good job protecting the floor near the kerosene heater from residual heat. The metal top of the board is very attractive and exceeded our expectations. My only quibble is that the edges of the metal folded under on the bottom of the board could be smoother. I don't think the edges will scratch our hardwood floor, but I may tape around the edges just to be safe.

Overall I am very pleased with this purchase.

Added note: I notice that the kerosene heater slides somewhat on this smooth stoveboard. I'll have to get a roll of that sticky mesh product used on kitchen shelves and in drawers to prevent the heater from moving.

This heater is phenomenal and for only 43.00 bucks! I have a kitchen and 2 large rooms downstairs, this heater heats all three rooms nice and toasty. I come home from work, turn the heater on and the whole downstairs is warm within 15 minutes. I don't understand the people that gave this poor reviews. It's very pretty and it does a heck of a job heating up even large spaces. The odor that comes from it comes from all heaters including my baseboard heat when 1st turned on for the winter. The smell from this heater goes away after a few uses.

This heater has a timer feature, oscillate on/off, hi/low settings and temp. settings from 60 to 85 in 5 degree increments. No remote, but seriously do you want to pay an extra 10 bucks to have a remote for your heater?!! Seriously!!! Also I like this heater so much I'm getting 2 more for the basement and bedroom. Instead of having my baseboard heat all the way up to 74-76 in the winter I have it set to 68 and just have the Lasko on. That's all I need.

Also, forgot to mention this heater is whisper quiet. No louder than a purr!

I had a different Lasko space heater for a few months before this one. all the power settings and wattage are the same, but this one performs much better. I appreciate the smaller size and pleasant aesthetic design of the 6405.

This one heats the whole room, where the other one was very directional in it's heating. I like that it has a variety of thermostat settings, and you can keep it plugged in when it is not in use. I thought I would miss not having a remote control, but it turns out to be a non-issue.

I highly recommend the Lasko 6405.

I waited until after I had used this an entire winter before writing a review. I admit that my house is kept pretty cool because of the expense of the propane we use to heat it, which over the previous three years averaged just over $3100/yr. I used this heater in the living/dining/kitchen area (about 500 sq.ft.) during the day while I was up and about and left the thermostat for the entire house at 55 degrees 24/7. At the end of the year my heating bill was down $1600 and the electric was up $140. And this past winter was colder than usual! I've already talked my sister and my niece into buying one of these.

Honest reviews on Lasko 6405 Designer Oscillating Heater

The unit heats a very large master bedroom in less than 15 min. and its immediate surroundings in about 5 minutes (no kidding). I have another one, a Garrison tower, which I use in another room and it is nothing near the efficiency of this one and I had paid the same price.

Was expensive as it does not sell in Canada so had to pay shipping, etc. But so so stylish! Like no other. Matches my Tuscan décor perfectly! But was concerned I was paying for the style. Thank goodness it is AS EFFICIENT AS IT IS STYLISH.

This little heater is mighty. We live in a 900 ft apartment and when this heater is on the furnace doesn't work near as hard. I do wish I had bought the same heater with remote control though. Looks good too.

I bought the bigger size and the cord went loose and power was on intermittently. I got this smaller one instead to give the company another try. It turned out much better as the size is smaller, less time to boil medicine. Plus I was making medicine for my 7 yo son. It was better to cook with less water, so the medicine is more concentrate and less meds for a kid to take it.

This thing is not even working. I turned on and after 2 mins it just goes to "keep warm" and won't cook. I let it stayed on for more than 4 hours but it did not even cook. Ending up returning it.

This pot arrived on time with nice package. I got this pot for making Chinese herbal tea. It looks very nice and sturdy made. It turns out that this pot is very large and heavy, especially when it is filled with water. Also it takes little too long for the water to boil. I had to return it.

I have owned 10-12 of these Markel heaters over the last 40 years. The earliest were blue, then brown then white. The blue and brown work for years and years with only an occasional dust cleaning. The white models are China made and are OK except for one fatal flaw: the wire connections to the elements burn out and thus no heat is produced. Markel was good enough to replace my two heaters, but they too burned out. So I bought some good high heat wire connectors and a crimping tool, and replace/recrimp them as needed. (the old connectors fall apart like carbon.) Otherwise the heaters seem fine for my home and summer cabin. I realize this type of repair isn't for everybody but it works for me. Mind you I bought my last two heaters about 5 years ago so hopefully Markel has improved their Chinese connectors.

I do like the heat settings for these including the no fan lower setting.

PS (march 2011) I purchased two more of these heaters in January 2011. One element has just quit in the same fashion as before. I must now get out my repair kit.

After reading a couple of the favorable reviews I purchased this heater for my 80 year old mother. The heater broke within 45 days. I contacted TPI and they told me I had to go through the seller Antonline. Antonline told me they only had a 30 day return policy and after that it was not their responsibility. After numerous phone calls to TPI (the manufacturer) they said they were not going to honor the warranty because I had purchased it from an unauthorized retailer. They said that they had received a number of complaints from customers about the heater and unless the heaters came from one of their authorized dealers they we not going to replace them. I told them as a consumer I should not have to be responsible for verifying who is authorized to sell a company's products.

They responded that my complaint along with the others had been discussed at the highest levels in the company and that the decision to not honor the warranty was final. I filed a complaint with the Tennessee consumer affairs division. I not only found it deplorable that they would not even consider that they may have had a manufacturing flaw, but to also just neglect your own warranty was too much.

Not only will I not recommend this heater, but I would not recommend purchasing any product made by TPI.

We have purchased a large quantity of these fans for use at mountain-top communications sites that can get pretty chilly in the winter months. Over the years, these have proven to be very robust, dependable heaters. They are also great camping heaters in that, on the LOW setting, the fan does not kick on and off, or run at all. If you're a light sleeper, this allows you to sleep, while still getting plenty of radiant heat with a thermostat setting. The LOW setting is enough to keep a 24-foot trailer nice and warm inside while outside temperatures are in the 40's. The low setting is also nice since it is not drawing much current through your trailer's electrical wiring. These are sturdy heaters and I can't recommend them highly enough.

I have two of these. They send out wonderful heat, much more then the ceramic type heaters that are so popular. I've used these for the past 4 years with no issues. They provide enough heat to warm my office and living room during extreme cold weather. They are built pretty heavy duty and very solid. I would recommend these heaters

I bought two of these heaters within a month of each other.

The first one works fine while heating a 12x12 room.

The second one broke down after three weeks of light usage. It was heating a small, 60-degree bathroom up to 72-degrees , which means it wasn't being overused or taxed in any way. At first it began emitting a strange odor a burning smell than it stopped heating, even though the unit was still running. Pushing the Reset Button does nothing. I suspect that the element burned out. A label on the outside of the unit warns that there are no user replaceable parts inside. The heater is worthless.

Despite the fact that the first heater is still working nicely, I cannot recommend the product.

Currently sweating it out and trying to figure out how to get this hefty 'ornament' out of the wall and into the trash. Stay away.

If you asked me how i liked this a/c a few weeks ago (shy of it's 1 year anniversary in my home), i WOULD have had glowing reviews. Promptly within a year, the a/c stopped blowing cold air, and instead turned into an oversized wall-embedded fan, blowing room temp air into the room.

Luckily i had a Service agreement (though somewhat suspiciously, Frigidaire kept on trying to get me to upgrade my warranty with them, til the last day), so a tech was to come to fix it. Turns out, it's not worth the trouble that this unit causes the repair company declined to service it and my money was refunded.

There was a time when you bought an a/c that lasted through the summers. This one made it through half of last summer, and called it quits before summer even began this year. Total pain to have it removed and to find a replacement during a heatwave. Not recommended. Stick to a GE or Friedrich.

This unit struggles to cool the small second floor of my house. Two small rooms, 10 X 12 each. This unit is NOT quiet. You will have difficulty sleeping in the same room. On high, I'd swear a 747 was taxiing by my bedside. After less than 1 year of service unit stopped cooling, would only blow air. I thought "Frigidaire, how can I go wrong" Small 7500 BTU GoldStar window units do a great job of cooling larger downstairs. They are 6 years old and keep on chugging!

Some critter got under the house and detached our heating ducts a few years ago so we only use electric heat and ambient heat from other rooms in the livingroom. I was looking for a better space heater after an Econoheat panel shorted and melted while I slept.

The problem with most space heaters is they are UGLY. They look like they belong in a garage. I wanted something that looked like a piece of furniture that wouldn't set fire to my cats and that could heat up a big room with open doorways. I should also mention that I have a humor-based decorating style, so whether someone else will find it tacky or not is of no concern to me. I don't invite people without a sense of humor into my home.

Anyway, I went with this. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being an orange spotlight behind a fan blowing white bits of fabric around like some Halloween decorations, and 10 being a real fire, I'd give it a 7.5. It only looks like a real fire if you're not looking directly at it. The foily logs help a bit and it does have a slight 3D effect that makes it better than some, but even if you add a crackling fire mp3 and burn wood incense in the room no one is going to mistake it for a real fire.

That's not to say I don't like it. It does provide that hypnotizing effect you look for in a fireplace!

Additionally, it was 35 degrees F last night. I live in a farmhouse with 4 inch walls and cellulose insulation. I put it in my livingroom, which is approximately 500 sq feet, with an open doorway, 2 large windows, a sliding glass door, no basement, and an open stairway. It kept the room at 72 to 74 degrees all night.

It seems to be of sturdy construction. The top stays cool. The fan is very quiet. It's also light and portable. Overall I'm satisfied enough to get another one for my office.

We got this stove as a Christmas gift this year. My husband and I were both VERY surprised at how nice it actually looks. The fire effect is very realistic for an electric unit, far more convincing than any other brands we have seen; as we have several friends with electric fireplaces and stoves made by different companies besides this one. I had researched Dimplex brand fireplaces before, and everything they claim is true...no other brand electric fireplace (at least that I have seen) really comes close to the realism that they have come up with in their units. Of course nothing will ever beat the look of real logs burning, but this is still great looking nonetheless.

We use it in our 14x17 bedroom, and it warms the room up nicely, in fact TOO nicely, as we are usually sweating to death halfway through the night! We have an old, drafty Victorian house that has very little heat coming into the room at all, and this little guy does a great job. We are planning on getting a plug-in thermostat to go with it. In fact, that is my only complaint. I wish it had a built-in thermostat so you could set a temperature for the room. Because if you use a plug-in thermostat it will turn the entire unit off, including the flame effect, which I actually really like to sit and enjoy, whether the heat is on or not.

I read another review about this stove that the door does not open. Hmmm, that's interesting, because ours does open. When I showed it to my mother and opened the door for her, she was convinced enough that she put her hands in front of the "flames" to feel the warmth.

We like the stove so much we ordered black flue pipe and a collar so that it looks like it's attached to the chimney that runs up the one wall of the room. We are also building a tile hearth board for it to sit on. If you need extra heat in a room, but want something that looks nice at the same time, this little stove really does the trick!

I purchased this product for its nice looks at first ...then when i used it ,i couldn't believe how fast and hot this item worked to heat my bedroom 14 x 16 ...I have to get up in the middle of the night and turn it off ...also I use a ceiling fan to circulate the heat as well ...I have 5 people ,5 electric stoves in my home as a main source of heat ..my bill with other electric appliances , tv 's ,washer ,dryer and lights was only $ 115.00 this month ....I have oil heat but keep my regular thermostat on 58 due to over $3.30 a gallon for oil ...This product works better and even saves more money on electric then even those infrared or those Amish heaters that are advertised lately using 12 cents an hour to heat your home ...Beware of those ...I've tried them also .....a lot higher bills then they stated ...Dimplex is the way to go ...its quiet ,efficient, and looks great ..5 stars from me ...=0) Happy Glowing......

Honest reviews on Dimplex CS1205 Compact Electric Stove

With some reservations, I bought this small Dimplex CS1205 heater for my bedroom because of some cold air coming in both my windows (when winds blow). I was very happy to know that this heater was like having a fireplace in my room instead of a 'little heater', as I described it to be. I would recommend this compact stove to anyone who was looking for beautiful flowing heat and the looks of a fireplace (with the incredibly real looking fire in the front). One reviewer made a suggestion of replacing the 60 watt bulb (contained in the unit) with a 7 watt night light, which I did, and got the same real effect of a fireplace and less electricity. All in all, this was definitely not the boring, small heater I had visions of before I bought it.

We purchased this stove for our cool and drafty San Francisco living room (15' x 15'). I can't imagine a nicer room heater for the price. The stove is stylish, and the 3D flames almost look real ! Granted, this is not a real wood fireplace, but it is a great alternative. I like that you can turn on the flames without the heat. The heat is warm enough for the room. I consider this one of our favorite finds for the year !

There is a reason that this product has almost all five star reviews. It works exactly as promised.

Installation is simple, the provided directions are very clear, and the necessary glue is provided. Just glue the plastic bracket to your shower tile (the back of the bracket has grooves labeled for where the glue goes, so you can't make a mistake), wait 24 hours, and you are good to go. Before you glue the bracket, I suggest putting the mirror on it to make sure you attach the bracket at the height that works best for you. If you are a little off, don't worry because the bracket has a built in swivel that lets you adjust the angle of the mirror. This is also handy for people of two different heights to use the mirror when they shower.

The mirror is not made of glass, but rather a reflective surface that is more than clear enough to shave if your face is within about 9" from the mirror. If you move away, there is a barely noticeable "fun-house" distortion (though you can still see clearly), which becomes noticeable only if you rock back and forth from the mirror. Since I doubt most people will do that while shaving, such distortion is a non-issue.

If you follow the simple directions of filling the reservoir in the back of the mirror with warm water when you turn your shower on, the mirror will not fog. And if you forget and the mirror does fog, then just fill the reservoir with water and the fog will disappear (I purposely did this to see what would happen if I let the mirror fog without water in the reservoir, and then filled it afterwards).

While you shower, water droplets will collect on the mirror surface instead of fog. This will not interfere with your ability to see well enough to shave. However, if they become excessive, the provided squeegee will easily remove them. NOTE: The squeegee works better than a towel, which tends to "smear" the droplets and not produce a clear surface for shaving.

Taking the mirror off, filling it with warm water, and slipping it back on are very easy. There is no need to worry about the mirror falling off, and no need to worry about fog.

Before I discovered this product, I used to use Fog-Tech (an excellent product that I have reviewed on Amazon) on a regular mirror, and it did work to prevent fogging for a few days at a time, after which another application was necessary. But this product is much simpler--all you need is warm water. I also no longer have to worry about rust forming on the base of a regular mirror that discolors my shower tiles.

Bottom line: For a fog free shaving experience this works great. I really like this product and recommend it.

Update October 23, 2010: The other day I forgot to empty the reservoir after I showered. The following day when I showered I was so interested in a radio program that I forgot about the mirror for the first five minutes. At that point it was totally fogged up, and when I removed it, I saw that there was still water in it from the day before. I dumped the water out, filled it, and also let shower water run down the face of the mirror. In less than 30 seconds the fog disappeared, and just one wipe of the squeegee cleared the excess water from the mirror, which was then nice and clear for shaving. It was like magic.

Update November 13, 2010: I'm always looking for shortcuts in using products. I did an experiment. I did not remove the mirror from the stand and empty the water. Instead I let it fog up with the old water in it. I then filled a 12 oz plastic mug with hot shower water and poured it in the already full reservoir, assuming that the warm water would displace the existing cold water. It took only two mugs full of water and the fog cleared.

So now when I take a shower, I just leave the mirror in place all the time, don't empty the water, and just pour warm water into the already full reservoir until the fog clears. This works great.

Update December 8, 2010: This is still working great, and is especially easy to use now that I have stopped removing it to empty the water. This is definitely the shower mirror to buy for shaving. For those who like to listen to the radio in the shower, I recommend the Sangean shower radio (which I have reviewed on Amazon) that I have been using for the past 16 months.

Update March 7, 2011: I have been using this for almost five months, and it still performs flawlessly.

I have read a recent negative review claiming that the mirror fogs up. This is clearly a case of "user failure" or a defective product (I suspect the former) since there is no way that this mirror will fog up if you put warm water in the reservoir before you shave.

I have also read a recent review that the squeegee does not remove every last drop of water, and that if you have hard water (I do) then calcium spots will develop on the mirror when the surface dries. True, but all I do is rinse them off each time I shower, so this is not really an issue.

Update May 23, 2011: I am still using this product without any problems. I got tired of using the plastic mug routine that I described above and now simply take the mirror on and off to empty and refill it. To make it easy to guide it back on, I use my forefinger to locate the slot on the wall bracket, and then just slip the tongue on the back of the mirror right into it. It's really effortless with a little practice. For a fog free shaving experience, this is definitely the way to go.

Update August 15, 2011. Still working fine. Taking the mirror on and off the bracket has become second nature to me, and now seems so easy and simple that I can't imagine why I ever thought that it was an issue that required a workaround, as I described in an earlier comment.

Update October 6, 2011: The company has now come out with a "deluxe" version that has a 20% larger surface area, battery operated LED lighting (two levels of brightness) around the edge, and a squeegee that works more effectively. It uses the same bracket as the original version. I received the new version at no cost from the company in exchange for writing a review, which I have posted on Amazon. Only you can decide if the "improvements" are worth an extra twenty dollars.

Update August 6, 2012: The company now has a compact travel version of this mirror, which you can also use for everyday use if you want a mirror that will attach without a bracket and glue (it uses rubber suction cups).

The Fogless Shower Mirror by ToiletTree is the Best Fogless Mirror on the Market. I have been waiting to write this review since I bought it July 5, 2010 on Amazon.com, but to give my review more credence I waited the recommended 30 days. First, this fogless mirror works perfectly. I have yet to see any fog develop on the mirror what so ever. It is lightweight plastic or similar. The mirror appears to be glass, but it is a high quality reflection without distortion (just a little). It is perfect for any task that you might perform in or out of the shower, but I use it to shave. If you have never shaved in the shower, I urge you to buy this mirror and start shaving in the shower for a closer and more comfortable shaving experience. It uses adhesives to attach to a shower wall. Follow the instructions carefully to mount the mirror mount to the shower wall. Once the mirror is mounted it is permanent, but you can adjust the viewing angle up or down. You must fill the reservoir with warm or hot water in order for the mirror to remain fogless. That is easy to do. Why I like this type of fogless mirror is the placement of the mirror in relationship to the shower stream. Other mirrors that attach to the shower/water pipe have you standing in and facing the shower stream. That type of mirror allows the water to splash in your face and eyes. The ToiletTree Fogless Shower Mirror allows you to mount the mirror anywhere in the shower that you please so pick your spot carefully as it is permanently mounted.

Update Dec 15, 2010

It's getting close to Christmas; this will make a great gift. I have had it nearly 6 months. It works as it promises. Alot of people have gone out of there way to provide you with their experiences with this product. Shower shaving is the greatest shave and the Fogless Shower Mirror by ToiletTree is the Best Fogless Mirror on the Market.

Update Oct 7, 2012

I still love this product. It shaves better than my blades. I can tell because I can see!!! It still looks new. Still works like new. It is nearly 2 and a half years old. I don't know if this product is still available or not, but if so, it makes a great gift and it is easy on the wallet and saves you some skin as well.

Update Oct 1, 2014 What drives a man to review a mirror over and over and over again. Obviously, I am pretty, conceited, vain, and quite a snob. I know because my mirror clearly tells me so. Don't just buy it for your husband, see just how pretty you are. I tout this mirror because it is a product that does what it says, does it well, and it is affordable.

I had this product given to me as a gift several months ago and though I did like it at the beginning, it was a bit too large for my shower. It was a bit of a pain to assemble and in the end a bit too much work just to shave in the shower. Plus, for some reason the razor ledge wasn't very sturdy and I'd always be dodging falling mach3s.

I suppose my wife got a little sick of hearing that razor drop and my whining.

My wife just recently gifted this mirror to me (yes, she's great!)

Fogless Shower Mirror Guaranteed Fog Free Exclusive to Amazon No Suction Cups Designed Not to Fall Ultra-easy Set up Includes Additional Razor Wall Mount

As it has a sturdy razor hook, so I'm ecstatic about that, but now that it is

hanging it my shower, I think wifey bought it for me because the stainless

steel hooks look nicer. She's sneaky.

So in the end, I really liked the Toilet Tree Mirror and it definitely

will do the job you want, but for me it lacked a few essentials for my situation. The choice is yours.

Hope this helps.

Honest reviews on Fogless Shower Mirror with Squeegee by ToiletTree Products

Let me be honest here. The mirror doesn't fog up. It actually stays clear through out the entire hot shower/bath as long as you remember to fill up the reservoir with hot water.

Now, having said that, here's why I didn't give this mirror a 5 star rating:

First of all, the mirror is not glass, it is made entirely of plastic and because it is all plastic, the image is distorted, unless you are pretty close to it. This of course doesn't mean glass would be a better option, because if the mirror fell, you'd have broken glass all over the tub/floor. I'm simply stating that due to the fact that the mirror is "plastic" makes its reflection distorted.

Also, again, because it is plastic, the squeegee that comes with it left a long scratch mark on the left side of the mirror, the very first time I used it.

There's not option to hang the mirror or use suction cups; you must use the double sided tape and silicone provided with the unit, this creates a problem for those whom rent or simply do not want to leave any silicon/tape residue on their tile.

This unit, IMO, is not worth the $30+ price tag. $15 at the most, considering the issues I described above. Hope this helps.

With such a large selection of (so-called) fogless mirrors, it can be a bit tough to research what to look for exactly. Hopefully I can save you some time and offer some insight.

This particular mirror features the best design and all the best features. You can tell they put some real thought into it. Here's a few reasons why:

1. It uses hot water behind the mirror, which does a fantastic (arguably the best) job of keeping a mirror fogless. The mirror slides easily in and out of a relatively large U-shaped bracket. It just takes a second or two to fill the reservoir on the back with hot tub/shower water, and you're set it will not fog up! No kidding, from my own experience.

2. No suction cups, no crashing mirror. The mount uses relatively strong, semi-permanent adhesives; two square pieces of double sided tape (nearly identical to the mounting squares you see in hardware stores) and a generously sized tube of silicone. Both the silicone and tape have specifically marked places for use on the mounting bracket. Note, that while these are nice and waterproof, and much more reliable then suction cups, neither is permanent-permanent. Silicone is not super glue; it can be removed, along with the tape, without much fuss at a later time if desired.

3. The design is nice, clean, simple, and not too small. Form follows function. The reservoir widens nicely on top to make filling it easier. The shelf below is perfect for your razor, without any needless holding mechanisms. Other shower mirrors are rather small, this one is just the right size (imo) at 6.5in x 8.5in.

4. There's a nice, full-length rubber-y squeegee for wiping down the mirror. Any mirror will acquire drops from the spray while you shower. This squeegee cleans them off much better and more thoroughly then your own hands do. Take a look at the fourth and fifth pictures to get a good idea. The black handle slides horizontally into a compartment under the front shelf; the actual white squeegee part hangs down, which makes grabbing it and pulling it out easy.

5. Although irrelevant, even the way it was boxed/packaged was nicely done.

In summation, I rarely give items full stars with no criticism of any kind; even five-star items generally have some minor negative points. This is one of those rare items I simply cannot find fault with. I honestly can't think of any way it could be improved.

And although it can cost more then some other shower mirrors, these mirrors are all relatively inexpensive, anyway, so I don't see why that matters. Getting something this fantastic is well worth a few extra bucks.

Bought this from Menards much less expensive than here. Was disappointed with how small the firebox was. However when it came time to use it I was very impressed. When its 20 degrees outside it heats my 1600 square foot home easy. It doesnt use a lot of wood. It burns the wood to powder. Very easy to get fire going, and maintain. Overall very impressed with this little stove.

The Honeywell heater arrived packed within its own box within an Amazon box and was well protected. Getting started was as easy as plugging it in. All the features have little icons on the heater but you may need to review the instructions once to understand the icons. Pluses: the heater begins to warm immediately. Even the low power setting seems to generate heat for a small room. The oscillating feature is virtually soundless. The timer turns off the heater within a few minutes of the setting. Minuses: While the temperature display is very easy to read, the actual temperature setting is like a toy. The heater does cycle off close to a setting but the displayed temperature is not very accurate. Also the temperature resets to 75 when the unit is turned off so your desired temperature must be reset every time the unit is turned on. Also, every button that is pressed creates an annoying "beep" that I cannot seem to turn off or decrease. Overall, this is a good basic heater suitable for smaller rooms.

I'm using this heater to help regulate temperature swings in an over air-conditioned office. You would expect that having a thermostatic control would direct the heater to switch on and off as required to maintain a narrow range around a preset temperature. With this Honeywell, comfort requires manual switching because the thermostatic temperature control functions poorly. When the heater reaches +1-2 degrees above the preset temperature, the fan and heater element shut off and the thermostat should then be monitoring room temperature to determine when to restart the heater, (at least that's how it's supposed to work).

Reality is: once the thermostat triggers the Honeywell heater to shut off at a preset 72 degrees; the fan stops immediately and the displayed temperature quickly rises about four degrees. As the unit cycles off there is no airflow over the temperature sensor so the thermostat is no longer sensing room temperature; it's actually sensing residual radiated heat from the unit itself. As the office A/C kicks in, actual room temperature drops from 72 to 66 but the Honeywell heater display shows 76 and won't cycle on because its temperature sensor is still responding to residual heat in the heater. At this point the thermostat was set at 72, the Honeywell temperature display shows 76, and the actual room temperature was 66. The only way to restart the heater at this point is to reset the Honeywell's thermostat to 78 or above. As the heater cycles on, the fan restores air circulation past the internal sensor and the temperature display indicator quickly drops from 76 to 66. Now the heater won't shut down until room temp reaches 80 degrees because it was necessary to reset the thermostat to 78 to get the heater to cycle on when the actual room temperature was 66.

This heater isn't a 'set it and forget it' affair. I found my office was consistently too cold, then too hot. This demonstrates a latent design defect where the temperature sensor is either located too close to the heater element, poorly shielded, or worse. Most thermostatically controlled heaters I've experienced, address this issue by continuing to run the fan for a couple of minutes after the heater element shuts off to dissipate residual heat and equalize internal heater temperature with room temperature so the thermostatic sensor is accurately tracking ambient room temp. I've already had two of these heaters, so it isn't a defective unit, its a defective design.

Your choices with this heater are 14 degree temperature swings with thermostat function, or switching the heater on and off manually. A remote control would be greatly appreciated since manual operation is necessary for temperature control. Note that competitive units INCLUDE a remote; my recommendation is to keep shopping until you locate a heater with a remote. (Ironic that a company that made its reputation for thermostatic controls can't make a thermostat function properly in a space heater.)

I'd speculate that similarly priced, thermostatically controlled space heaters would likely function as poorly as this Chinese-made Honeywell and I wouldn't be surprised to find they're all made in the same factory. In my opinion a remote control would be an infinitely more desirable feature than a poorly executed, wonky thermostatic control.

Heater warm quickly. Oscillating feature is very good. The timer turns off the heater within a few minutes of the setting. Actual temperature setting is not real accurate but you learn to adjust to it. I don't like having to reset temperature each time unit is turned on, however, overall, this is a very good heater for small rooms.

Honest reviews on Honeywell Electronic Ceramic Tower Heater, HZ-3750GP

Not for babies, I wanted to keep temperature more or less constant at around 26oC for the small baby room, the HZ-3759GP turned out to be noisy and the room temperature goes down little more than two degrees oC below the set temperature before the unit turns on (too cold) and then the unit will not turn off until the temperature goes two degrees above set temperature (too hot), that is a 4oC temperature swing!!! of course I measured the temperature with a calibrated ambient thermometer...since the built in thermometer does not do a good job tracking the room temperature...may be that is the problem.

I was looking for a simple space heater to use in my office and I can not begin to say how great this one is working for me!

This is only my first day using it, but so far it is running well, and heating up my office perfectly! One of the many things I like about this heater is that it is quiet. My coworker has one that I can hear all the way across the office :(

It also stays equally as quiet when you turn the fan up on max.

I really great value! I am already thinking of getting another!

I ordered this space heater for my home office, which just isn't as warm as the rest of my apartment. I have to say that it does the job to take the edge off the chill, as long as I put it right next to me. It's also very quiet. Just the normal whirring sound any fan makes. However, there's no way that this little heater is capable of heating a space, unless it's a closet. If you're looking for something to heat a whole room, go with something bigger. Also, there's no safety feature that turns off the unit if it tips over.

With all that being said, I feel like I got what I paid for.

I bought this heater to warm up my bedroom (roughly 9' x 12') as it's getting cold out but my landlord refuses to turn on the heat. I'll try to give a descriptive review here.

The heater has three settings: fan, low, and high. The fan setting just provides circulation while the low and high settings provide heat. The heater also has a thermostat so you can set the amount of warmth you want to maintain the the room. The thermostat isn't *super* accurate, but you get the hang of it after a few uses. Nothing to complain about.

I usually keep the heater under my desk and turn it on on the low setting when I start doing homework in the evenings. This works out best for me because it delivers heat directly to my feet and legs (which feels amazing) while also warming up the room in general. On the low setting, it takes about 30-60 minutes to fully warm up the room and on the high setting it takes about half as long. This heater is not large enough or powerful enough to effectively heat up a larger space, like a living room or dining room. I think it is best suited for small to medium sized bedrooms and bathrooms.

The one downside is that it does not have an auto-off safety feature that turns the heater off when it is moved. So if you have small children or pets that might knock over a heater sitting on the ground, you might want to look into a different heater. However, if you're an adult and you're not stupid about how you operate electrical equipment, you'll be fine.

As far as noise level goes, I have no complaints. The fan does make some noise, but no more than expected/necessary. I would not describe it as "loud" and, once it's operating, you barely notice it.

All in all: if you want a personal heater that can heat up a small to medium sized room, buy this heater. It is well worth the under-20-dollar price tag. It's small, unobtrusive, and gets the job done.

Honest reviews on Impress 1500-watt Space Heater with a Quiet Fan and Adjustable

They say you get what you pay for. Owning better products means spending more money. I normally believe this as a general rule, but this Impress heater is an exception for sure. It costs less and works fantastic!

I bought it to replace a similar small heater, which had difficulty maintaining a stable and steady temperature in my carport area utility room. With my previous heater, I would turn up the thermostat if it got colder outside around 40 degrees. However, a couple of days later when we had warmer temps of around 65, I decided to check on that heater. I discovered the heater was STILL RUNNING as if it didn't know any better. The room temperature had reached 82 degrees!

With that problem noted, my point is ... this Impress heater works perfectly and maintains an even temperature AND actually adapts to changes in surrounding temperatures unlike the piece of crap it replaced. :)

So although skeptical at first, I would now recommend this heater to anyone. By the way, it's very quite too.

Happy Holidays,

Jeff
