I use this little crockpot to make steel-cut oatmeal for a healthy breakfast, and it works just great! The temperature is fine and I haven't had an issue with overcooked oatmeal.

Another reviewer noted one of the frustrating things about this little slow cooker, and that's that the insert isn't removable, as it is on some big crock pots. That makes cleaning frustrating. I've found a good solution to that I add a little bit of water to the pot and then insert a large ramekin into the basin. The lid still fits just fine, to keep too much water from evaporating. It turns it into kind of a "double boiler" setup, which buffers the heat and gives me an easily removable bowl of oatmeal in the morning. For a while, I was eating right out of the crock pot, but this solution is much better. Any crusty oatmeal can then just get washed out in the dishwasher and I rarely have to worry about cleaning the small crockpot itself.

I love this little appliance I don't think anything else would work quite as well for the purpose I use it for.

The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is the fact that you can NOT take out the pot.

You also cannot immerse this in water, so cleaning is a giant pain.

That said, it's GREAT for dips that need to be kept warm, such as my famous 'chile con queso'. Just put everything together and plug it in.

A few hours before a party, cut a 4" block of Velveeta into 1" cubes, put in the Lil' Dipper. Add a few tablespoons of medium Pace Picante. Add 1/3 of a small can of chopped green chiles.

For more spice, dribble in the juice from a jar of jalapenos.

To thin it out, you can add cream, half and half, or milk. Or even water (but that will dull the taste).

Serve with your favorite torilla chips.

You can also make this in the microwave if you need to make something 'in a hurry'.

I wouldn't recommend putting this on a dining table, as you'd need an extension cord, and kids could trip over it and burn themselves (heck, I guess at some parties, adults could, too!) but a buffet or counter against the wall would be fine.

Great for fondueheat coming from the bottom and sides of the crock does a better job of keeping dips warm than a pot with the heat source on the bottom only. Compact so that it doesn't take up too much space on the table. Needs a few minutes to warm up and you might need an extension cord in order to have it on the table.

Despite the fact that this product is made for keeping dips warm, I love it for cooking. I use it every night to cook a serving of steel-cut oats for the next morning. I just set it on a timer, have it come on at midnite and shut off at 6am, add 1/3 cup oats, a pinch of salt, cinnamon and a cup of water, and voilá, breakfast is ready when I get up. Very versatile product, and travels well (make your own breakfast in your hotel room...)

I was hosting a gathering where I needed to keep gravy warm for biscuits and mashed potatoes. I have a two quart slow cooker that is fairly small compared to a typical five six quart pot. The two quart cooker still seemed a bit large for use as a gravy warmer. I found this 16 ounce little dipper at my local grocery and it seemed perfect. I thought it would be great for gravies, sauces, and dips. I also thought it might work for side dishes like corn or soup. Alas, this was not the case.

1) The Little Dipper Warmer does not keep food warm -The Little Dipper only has one setting -warm. According to the instructions, the product is only intended to keep food warm for three to four hours. It doesn't really warm anything though. I put my gravy in the Little Dipper hot and when company had arrived an hour later, it was lukewarm.

2) No glass cover -I like my Rival Crock Pot 2-qt Slow Cooker because it comes with a glass cover. The user can easily look inside to see if food needs to be stirred or if water (or another ingredient) needs to be added.

3) Not as convenient to clean -There was a time not long ago when slow cookers did not have removable inserts. If you have slow cookers with removable inserts, you know they are easier to clean compared to units that lack the inserts. This warmer lacks a removable insert. The Rival Crock Pot 2-qt Slow Cooker has a removable insert.

4) 16 ounce capacity isn't much -I thought 16 ounces would be perfect for dips, sauces, and gravies and this might be the case if you are having a party of two. When you take the warmer out of the box, its size is underwhelming. I acknowledge that "little" is in the product title and I could have easily pulled out a measuring cup to visualize product capacity. The capacity just isn't that great and you can forget about using this for small side dishes. It is just not large enough for gatherings over four people.

5) Short extension cord -I live in a house that was built in the 1920s and outlets are not prevalent. The two foot cord requires an extension cord to operate.

I think I will be looking for a one quart cooker to replace the Little Dipper. The chrome exterior of the unit is very sleek and the stoneware interior is of typical Crock-Pot quality but its inability to warm, small capacity, and other limited features make it a flop for my house.

I find the blower to put good circulation into the room. It keeps going even after the flame is out up to cold air being blown out. Eventually it turns off. The fireplace starts up again most of the time and it warms up. Also it seems to be a bit on the loud side.

I purchased this unit to go in a new ProCom Q-series LP heater that I had previously bought. The blower is designed to fit this style heater and provide air circulation to enhance the heating capabilities of the heater. Unit arrived on time and I installed it in about 2-1/2 hours. I believe I could have installed it quicker (by at least 1 hour) if the instructions had been clearer. Diagrams did not show enough of the view to permit a quick understanding of the assembly. I had to do a lot of "reading between the lines". However, it all fit nicely and worked as designed once I got it installed. Fan operates well and thermostat functions correctly. Overall, I'm satisfied with the unit.

I brought this blower and installed it in my ProCom 20000 BTU Compact Gas Fireplace EDP200T2-JA. I would've given it more stars but like the other reviews the instructions are little sketchy. I also had to drill out all the holes that the screws go into because the screws were too big for the holes. So be aware of that.

I wish reviewers would state how long they have owned the product. I waited to review because, of course, a product that breaks less than 3 months in doesn't deserve a 5 star rating. I will come back and update this review when I get more info on how it can be fixed and how much of a hassle that will be. It is too big and heavy to send in for repair.

I really liked it at first. It's nice looking, and has rollers. It was ideal for fall heating, and as a supplement to the furnace in really cold weather. I am using my furnace way less. It has added bonuses of a timer delay start (so can have it go on shortly before I get up) and a timer delay off.

However one week short of having had it 3 months (and not in the dead of winter, though we had a cool autumn) it suddenly turned off. I cleaned the filter and thought I'd be all set, but no. It will run for a while and then turn off. So I'm back to using my mini heaters, and am waiting to hear from the manufacturer.

Update as of 1/8/13: Forget about warranty protection. The manufacturer is impossible to get in touch with.

It should also be noted that the description provided here is incorrectno, you cannot plug it into any 120V outlet.. it needs it's own 15 amp circuit. You might have several outlets that are on the same circuit. There is only one place downstairs in my house where I can give it it's own circuit, so this is something to check out before you buy.

Update as of 1/10/13: After filing a claim with Amazon that was just denied (as it was a third party seller) I finally received a call back from the manufacturer, and they said they will ship me parts so I can fix myself! (The unit itself says: "Caution: Do not open. No user-serviceable parts inside".) I'm not optimistic but that's the update, and I am shopping for a new little heater..like the Lasko or DeLonghi. I'm sad this one didn't work out; I really liked it for 2 1/2 months!

I purchased this as a gift for my wife and went through the instructions step by step in setting it up in an existing fireplace only to find that while it looks great it does not however produce hardly any heat at all. Unless you're standing, not sitting like you would a real fire place, but standing literally directly in front of it and over it you will not feel any heat. I contact the seller and was basically told that, "it was what it was", and I'd have to deal with it. Highly aggravated now since I already went through the not so simple task of trimming it out in order to fit the existing opening, as well as running wires up to the attic and then down behind the wall through to properly mount the thermostat control I now had to undo all I had accomplished in order to package it back up and send it back due to no cooperation or help of any kind from the seller. Amazon however was and usually are easy to deal with on returns. I would NOT recommend this product if you are expecting it to maintain some warmth in a room any bigger than a small bedroom or large closet. But again, we were impressed with it's all around look. So just don't purchase on any grounds to based on using it as a heater.

I have had no problems with this unit so far and have been using it daily for the past month or so in the worst part of the summer. The seer rating on this unit is almost 10, so it out classes most other portables in it's BTU range. Not as efficient as a mini split, but not wasteful like the easiest option to get my hands on at a local store. Their seer ratings were around 8-9, plus there's heat. Would buy again and recommend to others. To the users complaining about the internal tank size you should consider trying to look for solutions to that problem besides complaining about it. I've got mine dripping into a 40 gallon reservoir so I don't have to change it out as much, but it's a very efficient unit so there's a trade off. Think outside the box and you'll appreciate this unit. Although my only criticisms are that there is no timer nor can I use one at the electrical socket as when the power comes back on, the unit will still be off.

This is my second SPT Air conditioner and I LOVE them --I have a rolling one in my bedroom and now I got this one with the heater. I love this product and it's so easy to use and move around and empty out. I highly recommend the rolling a/c to anyone who doesn't have central air. Beats having to have someone lift the old clunker in and out of the window year in and year out. The remote makes it easy to adjust in bed at night without getting up and I can't wait to try the heater come winter! A Five ***** for me for SURE!

I was not impressed at all by the performance of this unit.

The instruction manual is very specific regarding the routing of the exhaust ventilation hose.

The "ideal" configuration is a straight shot from the discharge port of the machine to the window. The manual says the shortest length of hose is prescribed and the efficiency of the unit is diminished in relationship to the discharge ventilation.

With all of this in mind it sounds ridiculous to use this system if a standard "window unit" can be installed. It appears that window units (ones that are mounted entirely in the window) are much more efficient.

In comparison and conclusion I suggest making every effort to go with the standard window unit.

These are absolutely wonderful. I have an old one that I've been using for years, and I just bought the newest model as a Christmas gift for a close friend. She loves it, it has all the best features, including safety with a lock for the hot water, and choice of either button dispensing or pump-pot action; easy to use, convenient as you always have hot water for tea, etc., and I'm waiting for my old one to finally die so I can justify having a new one for myself. Having grown up in a household with a hot water tap, I'm used to having near-boiling water available at all times except on Shabbat, when, a rabbi told my mother, the tap could not be used (years later, a different rabbi, who had a different understanding of how the technology worked, told me it is permissible!). So once I was on my own, some sort of urn or electric pump pot was a must. I bought this one to replace an old one that died, and am pleasantly surprised by the new features, including the instant dispense button and switch (although they can't be used on Shabbat either, as they make a light go on, but you can still pump out water by pressing the original spot), and the concave front, which allows your cup or teapot to nestle up close. The price is right, the unit works, and my only concern is that I'll run out of water before Shabbat is over! In fact, I just bought another one as a Mother's Day gift and presented it today (now it can be told!).

There are some very good features in this air pot

1)It is smaller than older versions made by other companies with the same capacity

2) It has an electric pump to dispense the hot water

3) It is more attractive than the older designs

4) The price seems lower than the old versions

Some things that could use improvement:

1) The manual pump is like the old manual pumps and will probably eventually develop a leaky gasket

2) The manual pump would be better replaced with a lever action pump that does not depend on a gasket seal.

We purchased this HOT POT for our boat. We run it while on the boat to get hot water for our coffee, tea, cup o noodles, etc. It's an awesome little hot pot to have.. We are very happy with our purchase wished we purchased it alot sooner.. Love it love it love it!!! I like the automatic dispenser button you can only use this feature if it's plugged in otherwise you have to use the pump. Overall, I still like my hot pot! Maybe look for a bigger one. This one only takes 3L=a little less then 1 gal.

This is an excellent heater for anyone who can provide a 20 amp 210-240 volt power outlet for it. We use the same outlet that supplies our 220 v. air conditioner in the summer months. We set it on Auto so the fan cycles off with the heat when the room temperature reaches our setting. It has a thermal cutoff safety switch that works as it should and cuts off the power if the unit should overheat, such as from a piece of fabric cutting off the air flow. This QPH4A is our basic heat source for one floor of a small house and it really does the job when it's cold outside. The heater is compact and unobtrusive and the best feature in comparison to other heaters in its class is that it is very quiet -no rattling and wheezing, just a soft woosh of warm air.

after much searching I settled on the Q-Mark QPH4A Portable Electric Heater for my wife's potting shed and craft room, which is a separate building on our small property location. Works great and it heats her potting shed in record time. Her shed is 10' x 16' with a 10 foot ceiling, and is insulated and covered with T&G interior walls. As such, she only has to run Q-Mark on the low setting. Great product, and is relatively quiet and the thermostat works just fine. Only thing I would have liked added to the Q-Mark would be a visable thermometer to see the actually temperature; but we just added a separate thermometer and that does the trick just as well. Heavy duty and well built, I would recommend the Q-Mark without any doubt! Just buy it, and forget your heater worries!!!!!!!!!

I bought this heater as I have a solar system that has generated tons of extra kilowatts that I am using to lower my gas heating bill. I tried the small portable ones from the big box stores but they are made in China and don't hold up well (and I prefer to employ Americans!) I tapped this into an extra 240 volt range outlet in my kitchen that wasn't getting used. It is a solid heater and is relatively quiet. It seems to be very durable and I did call the company and verify it is manufactured in the Carolinas. The only knock I have on it is that I wish it put out even more wattage. I was comparing it to one from Home Depot that was 5600 watt max and this one is only about 4000 watts. I have a large house and ever bit would help. I was not expecting this to heat the entire house...just to supplement and minimize the amount the gas kicks on. Overall I was happy with the product and I do believe if I had bought the cheaper, made in Taiwan unit it would not have held up as long. Vote with your dollars...buy made in USA products, they are better!
