cut it around every thing & over the slots that come up thur the metal plate,
made it about 1/2" thick to clear everything put the top back on & it has been working great , put it on hi for 3 days stright and took top off & checked everything is looking good also i noticed that the plastiv top doesn't get warm anymore since i put the insulation in there

I bought this item from Amazon in October 2010. We live in Texas and did not need it for supplemental heating until late November 2010, which was after the Amazon return period. No problem with Amazon as they have always been a quality service, but it never occurred to me to check the heater before the return period was up. I went to the web address on the product sheet enclosed with the heater and was forwarded to a commercial selling store, NOT the Comfort Zone web site, so it appears it cannot be returned. Like the other review, the heater will come on when it is first turned on, in 2-3 minutes it will cut off, the temperature can be in the 50's but it will still cut off and not back on. It is obviously malfunctioning and I will take a 100% loss. I will never buy ANYTHING from Comfort Zone again.Best Deals on Comfort Zone CZQTV8 Fan Forced Quartz Heater with Beveled Top
When new this heater was great! However after 12 months or so it started to RUST! This product SHOULD be made with stainless steel or at least polished aluminum. Don't buy!Honest reviews on Comfort Zone CZQTV8 Fan Forced Quartz Heater with Beveled Top
I purchased this heater from Family Dollar about a month ago to use in my work shop. The heater rarely sees anything other than hi with the thermostat all the way turned up. This week I went down to the shop and the heater wasn't on. The thermostat control was melted out of the top. There was also something heavy rolling around the inside. I opened the heater up and found that the tip over protection which is a round weight(what I was hearing rolling around) is attached to a plastic cam on the side of the thermostat. The plastic cam had melted off and the contact points on the thermostat were completely eroded and not making contact(most likely from arcing as the cam melted). I contacted Comfort Zone who said they would warranty it if I had the receipt. Of course shame on me I no longer have the receipt. Therefore I have bypassed the thermostat all together and now the heater is operational again although I only have "off, Hi, and low" settings. No thermostat control and no tip over protection. I would never use this heater in my house with this arrangement but in my shop sitting on a concrete floor I will continue to use this heater "as is" since it does heat quite well for my shop and I do not want to purchase another heater. Poor design in regards to the safety and thermostat mechanism. If I were to purchase another one I would insulate the area to protect it even though it's ridiculous to have to do that on a relatively new heater. After reading the other reviews this is what I suspect is happening on all of them. I would recommend this fix if yours has quit and if you are using the heater in a secure area, just be sure to use heavy enough gauge wire for the jumper. Also keep your receipt! Guess you get what you pay for....Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Comfort Zone CZQTV8 Fan Forced Quartz Heater with Beveled Top
I bought this heater about a month ago and it worked fine until last night. Like the other reviewers have stated, it just stops working. I can wait a few minutes and it will turn back on. However, when it kicks off it has a strange odor (hot plastic?). I will not buy Comfort Zone EVER again.Cheap Intermatic EI500LAC 7-Day Single-Pole Digital Time Switch, Light

This in-wall digital timer is definately an upgrade from the old rotary timers I grew up with. However, installation is a little difficult as its size is as large as the common in-wall mounting box leaving very little room for the wires and connectors. I definately recommend this product though if you are confident in installation or are paying someone to install it for you.
2. It handles CLF light good because it uses a real mechanical switch to turn on/off the light. I can hear it sounds a tiny click within one foot in distance.
3. Its "random" feature makes its time control more like a "manual control": say you want your lights on at 7:00PM, by choosing the random feature, your light will be on between 6:45PM and 7:15PM randomly.
4. The display is too small for old people.

My nephew had purchased this same timer switch and I was able to see it in action. I was so impressed that I purchased it shortly thereafter. After the installation I set up the timer and it worked perfectly after that. I use it to turn our front garage coach lights on at dusk and then off at midnight. It works just great.Honest reviews on Intermatic EI500LAC 7-Day Single-Pole Digital Time Switch, Light

After searching, I found the timer that will work with LED lights. Works great and was easy to install. One thing is that timer is large (deep) so will be very tight if your junction box is not full size. Many exterior walls against concrete block walls (CBS) use smaller boxes. It will fit but there is not a lot of extra room.Cheap 12,000 BTU Air Conditioner with Electric Heat - Dehumidifier - 3

I live in Arizona and even on a hot day this AC cools off my garage. I especially like the auto/energy saver feature that turns off the Compressor and fan when the desired temp is reached. You need a sleeve to install this unit and the sleeve is made by Amana which is a little confusing.

We own a B&B made of vintage railroad cabooses in Northern California's wine country and we now own four of these units. Being cabooses, the rooms are about 450 square feet with this unit in the center of one wall keeping the room cool or hot depending on the season.
The nice thing about this unit is that it's inexpensive, installs in moments and just does the job. Our guests don't need to be rocket scientists to operate the included remote control and the unit can cope with summers where the outside temperature reaches 110° and winters where the nights can be in the low teens. The grapes love this weather, but people aren't as thrilled.
The air conditioning mode is the best of all on this unit. There are two fan speeds and you simply select the temperature you desire and the unit does a very effective job of keeping the room very comfortable. When the temperature is reached the unit shuts off as you might expect and comes on again when it's time for another dose of nice, cold air.
The heating function is slightly different. You still set the temperature and all, but the fan never shuts off. This means that as the unit blows increasingly cold air until the compressor kicks in again and heats up the incoming air. This is strange I don't know why the fan never shuts off in heat mode but it doesn't, and this is true of all of these units.
I also had one unit arrive slightly damaged but I was able to fix the problem.
If your room is under about 500 square feet this is a nice, efficient way of keeping it comfortable. I've had one of these units for up to three years with no issues. Considering that some of our rooms use ductless/mini split type systems with infinitely complicated remote controls this is such a refreshing change. The reason I didn't rate the unit five stars is because of the heater fan never shutting off, otherwise these units are great.

I was so excited to find an A/C and heater in one, but unfortunately, this was not worth it. The plug requires special work in the form of re-wiring the outlet, getting a converter (which is not safe or recommended), or I don't know what else. If this came with a standard plug, it still wouldn't be worth it. It did not seem to heat or cool effectively and I returned it.Best New SUNBEAM SFH613 LCD Electric Fan Forced Portable Heater Deals

I needed a heater fan in a hurry due to an acting up regulator on a radiator. Much to my surprise when I went to the store there was a Vornado. Vornados the best out there. it was listed at $55.00 but was sold out.
So I see this Sunbeam for $24.00 for some comfort until I fix the radiator I figure it's worth it.
BOY WAS I SURPRISED. This baby heat up my bedroom pronto. Granted its not for 2 bedrooms but boy for the size of it did it do the job. Heres some specs.
Pros.
1st. It has a high and low button setting.
2nd. You can adjust the desired temperature with the push of a button.
3rd. The fan Oscillates. This product also works as a fan.
4th. The face plate or covering does not get hot.
5th. The fan shuts off once the temperature is attained. It's safe.
6th. In a 30 by 30 foot closed bedroom this appliance will heat it fast.
7th. Price
Cons.
1st. Build quality after throwing it around a bit the Oscillator needs to be moved by hand in order for it to work correctly. My fault.
2nd. The fan itself for cooling yourself off in the summer not good but this is a heating fan.
The Sunbeam works super for the price I paid for it. 2yrs have gone by and the regulator on my radiator remains the same as the day I bought the Sunbeam. Get it.
You just plug this heater in, press the round button in the middle, and press either the left or right button to make the temperature go higher or lower. When you're done using it, you press the button to turn it off and it will count down 10 seconds and turn off the fan. To get the red light to go out, you unplug it.
I did notice that this one has a "new" smell when you plug it in, and you have to run it for awhile to get rid of that.
The nicest thing about it is that you can put your hand on the front and back grill while it's running and not burn yourself....even after it's been running for an hour or more.
I highly recommend this product.

This heater did wonders out on a camping trip with my wife. it got into the 40's and with the oscillation feature my 16x11 two room tent stayed nice and cozy at night. even after running for hours i could still touch the front or back of it so it is great for people with children.Best Deals on New SUNBEAM SFH613 LCD Electric Fan Forced Portable Heater
I had already bought two of these elsewhere for six dollars more than here, and when I saw them here at this price I bought a third and am already using it. These are simply fantastic heaters. They are quiet, oscillate if you want them to, allow you to specify the exact temperature you want, and do not use much electricity. I went the entire winter without turning the heat up over 60 degrees because I had two of these in the two rooms I live in most. My electric bill was hundreds of dollars lower, and I was just as comfortable as when I used the furnace, except I was able to get much more precise temperature control with these. I've been looking everywhere so I could buy a third heater and was delighted to find it here at a lower price and for free shipping. My sister had bought a different and much more expensive type of heater, but after seeing how mine work she took hers back and bought one of these from Amazon. She is very impressed with how quickly it heats up her large bedroom and simply loves it.You just plug this heater in, press the round button in the middle, and press either the left or right button to make the temperature go higher or lower. Purchased one for our popup camper about two months ago. We've been winter camping down here in Texas 5 times since I purchased this unit. With only one unit in our 14ft popup, i can easily keep the interior temperature at 75deg even through nights near at or below freezing. This unit is very quiet and being able to set the thermostat to the temperature you want is fantastic. We liked it so much we've purchased two more for around the house use.The nicest thing about it is that you can put your hand on the front and back grill while it's running and not burn yourself....even after it's been running for an hour or more.

Accumulair Carbon Odor Block Filter Reviews
I really want to love these filters. We have two cats. Two cases of severe seasonal allergies. And an aversion to anything that doesn't smell like Roses. We have five filters installed at once. Can we tell the difference...don't know. Our noses get used to smells quickly. There is no denying they filter well, but I can't tell you they will completely freshen up your home. We are going back to a similar filter without activated-charcoal. If we can then tell the difference, then I will update this post with a higher rating. If we can't...the review will remain the same.
A side note...Customer Service from FiltersNow through Amazon was spectacular!
UPDATE: Over the last few months we have really begun to notice the difference these filters make. Our first example is a visit from a severe, cat-allergy sufferer. A cousin of ours spent nearly an entire week with us and found that his usual cat allergies did not act up at all. Recently, the true test has come. I replaced every carbon filter with a high end 3M filter (no activated charcoal). Within days, we began to feel a general discomfort at constant subtle smells throughout our home. We allowed the 3M filters to do their job for 6 weeks, then went back to the Accumulair Carbon. By the end of the day of re-installation, the house was fresh and comfortable again. We had such a great night's rest that very same night that we ordered a supply of Accumulair to last us the rest of the year.
I am no recommending these strongly to anyone that will listen.
I've always wondered why a charcoal-activated/carbon air filter was never available for whole-house HVAC systems. The makers of Accumulair must have pondered the same thing because here, after all these years, is an odor absorbing air filter for the house!
OK, I'll cut to the chase. This filter does a great job of absorbing household odors. It works like a regular particle filter and is just as easy to install. It's available in every size imaginable (be sure to double-check you're ordering the right one since that dropdown-menu size selector has enough sizes to make your eyes cross).
Four, not five, stars because it's not a super effective particle filter compared to a "regular" non odor-absorbing filter. The filter is more like a sponge material rather than cross-woven fibers or microfibers so there are bigger pores for some dust/allergens to penetrate. Allergy sufferers might fare better enduring the smell of last night's fish dinner instead of circulating bigger particles than a standard filter would catch. But it does exactly as claimed... it clears the funk from the air. (Well, maybe they didn't use the word "funk"...)
Edit: The new shipment of 6 filters showed more light showing thru the filters, which means they used less charcoal. I was kind of disappointed.
I've since decided these are inferior to Nordic Pure MERV 7 Plus Carbon Air Filters 1 inch. Accumulair reduced the amount of charcoal in their line of filters. You can see right thru them now!

These seem to work pretty well. I rent and am worried about smoke and cooking fumes accumulating. I have a 1 BR apartment with the return duct in an AC/Heater closet located near the kitchen. I would suggest stocking up on these and replace them once every 1-3 months. I suppose it's not going to trap all the smoke and cooking fumes, but it's better than the cheap cotton candy filter material that was in my apartment's heater/ac.Edit: The new shipment of 6 filters showed more light showing thru the filters, which means they used less charcoal.
