Reviews of Stonegate® Old Country Fireplace and Small Cabinet Black
I really wanted a corner fireplace, I already have an amish fireplace, so I ordered stonegate Corner Fireplace. When it arrived, it had so many parts, and not good directions, and when we DID start to screw pieces together, the whole thing fell apart. I paid $300 for this? My husband went to the hardware store and bought screws that would hold together, it took 2 1/2 hrs to get it together after we figured out how and used store bought screws that worked. I was very disappointed in this product for the price I paid for it. It is together and in my kitchen, but the pressed board like material that they gave us for this was very poor, I would not recommend it to anyone until they refamp the material and get better directions and materials that will hold this fireplace together. Comfort Glow ELCG125 Electric Log Set Reviews
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $59.00
Sale Price: $44.29
Today's Bonus: 25% Off

I received this order today and was extremely dissapointed. When purchasing this item , there were no previously written reviews .When unlit the logs
look very black and blend in with the black grate making it look like one heap of badly burned wood ( very unattractive ).I have to take the fireplace screen down to get to the insert in order to turn it on which is not convenient . When lit , the light movement is so subtle you barely notice thus you don't get the warm ambience of a fire. The crackling sound is obnoxious with a loud annoying pop ( to similute the pop of burning wood I Imagine ) that occurs constantly sounding more like a cap gun and is not realistic .You can opt for no sound but I wanted a crackling sound !
Sounds like garbage.
DO NOT BUY!
I had it packed for return within 5 minutes.
this is a total pant-load!

Review of American Comfort R4 1500W 9000BTU Heater Air Purifier Adjustable
I just received the R4 yesterday. After carefully following directions on placement of unit, etc. this heater did no better than the $15 1500 BTU it replaced and it was only about a 1x1 foot unit. This was a total waste as it does not heat the 24x20 living room it was purchased for. The claims for this unit are largely embellished. Take it for what it's worth, folks.
It does a terrific job heating a room whether small, medium or large. I was impressed with the quality and ease of use. I would highly recommend this infrared heater to anyone. It will save us money during the cold nights not having to use the gas furnace. I look forward to being able to write more about it at a later date.

Full featured and so far does everything as advertised. We hardly use the central heating any more, unless weather is extreme and we have company staying over in a spare bedroom. Just roll this to where you want warmth and turn it on.Best Deals on American Comfort R4 1500W 9000BTU Heater Air Purifier Adjustable

First off, let me say that I would really like this product if it didn't leak, but it leaked water on the ground from day 1. I tried a few different things to get it to stop leaking, but each time I put water in it, the water would end up on the ground beneath the unit. Ended up having to send it back for a refund.Monday, June 2, 2014

The product is not good as advertised. It is good only for smaller rooms definitely not good for 1000sqft etc.
Even we try to put it in smaller rooms which about 300 Sqft and does work as expected but it is good when the door is closed. We can not feel the heat more than 5feet on maximum heat.
Purchased because this model has a humidifer chamber.
I am not sure if the electric bill will be less with using this versus my HVAC unit but will see soon.
I actually purchased 2 for the downstairs: master bedroom with open bath and one for the living room with open kitchen.

I woudl give it 5 stars but the only thing that I don't like much is the size. It is a bit big to fit in the room i wanted. It does however state the dimensions so just make sure you are confortable with the size. It is not heavy but bulky for the application I wanted. It heats quickly and works great. No complaints on performance.Honest reviews on 4 in 1 1500W watt Quartz Infrared Heater Humidifier

Cheap Water Heater Portable Coffee Immersion Dual Voltage Beverage Heat
I ordered this heater for my parents who were taking a 6 week trip to Europe. My mum LOVED it! None of the hotels she stayed in had a jug to heat water so she used it almost daily. It lasted her the whole trip for heating water for tea in the morning. It heated water super quick and it's tiny and easy to carry and comes with a neat wee drawstring bag to carry it in. She's still using it at work to heat her water for tea in the office. She highly recommends it. Thanks!
UPDATE: I filed A-to-z Guarantee claim to Amazon and they refunded the item price and shipping so that my loss was limited to the cost for the return shipping (postage + certified mail = $5.41).
Con: (Minor) 110 volt heating affords only 125 watts of heating power, bringing a large cup of cool water to a simmer in twelve to 14 minutes.
Pro: On 220 volts, other conditions the same as above, simmer is reached in about three minutes due to 500 watts heating power.
Pro: Solid construction, plug is not cheap, wire appeared well-insulated, but not unduly stiff.
Con: No cup cliff, although this is not a grievous error...
My unit quit working mid-tea cup heating, and I was dissatisfied because I thought I had only had it about six months. Amazon showed me that I received it about 25 months ago. Use was generally light, mainly onboard cruise ships, with both 110 and 220 volts used. Owned and used a bit over two years, but probably not over about 150 times, although the unit has likely traveled 50,000 miles and suffered a few light knocks, but no rough handling.
Performance and calendar service life = Five stars. Roughly 150 uses until failure = Three stars.
OVERALL: Four Stars. Will buy again.

I've owned two of these. The first one I dropped and it stopped working. Ok, my fault. The second I heated 4 cups of water on an international trip (220 Volt) and was very careful with it, especially keeping the heating coil immersed while plugged into the electricity. I went to heat a 5th cup of water and guess what?....no longer working. I bought it especially for the international voltage feature. From my experience, I cannot recommend this product.Best Deals on Water Heater Portable Coffee Immersion Dual Voltage Beverage Heat

I read reviews that said it did not work and I still took my chances and ordered the water heater at ALSAMAUSA and hoped it will work for me but sure enough the water heater was dead on arrival. I used immersion heater before and I know how to follow instructions so that it was definitely DOA. I returned the item but wasted my money for shipping and return postage ($5.70+$5.41). The seller received my water heater few days ago and I'm still waiting for my refund. First off, I am a firm believer that a fireplace should, you know, have real fire in it. I was very hesitant about getting an electric fireplace because some of them are so cheesy looking. After shopping around, my husband and I weren't able to find a gas fireplace that we liked, and we weren't sold on gel, so we decided to try out the electric. I'm so glad that we did. The fireplace is absolutely lovely! It is very heavy duty and well made. It is veneered, but you wouldn't know it. We had to really look to actually determine that it wasn't solid wood. It is a bit of work to put together, but if you have a power drill it is much easier. The flames and logs are controlled independently so you can make them brighter or dimmer. On the lowest 3 settings the flames are very convincing, to the point that people have asked if it is a gas or electric fireplace. You can also run it with or without heat, which is very nice. It also comes with a handy little remote. We have a small living room (11 x 15) and use the fireplace to supplement our forced air heat. It makes the room very cozy and warm. The shelving on the sides is very handy, we were able to retrofit it to house our electronics. Everyone who has seen it loves it and so do we! The only thing that I didn't like was the obnoxious warning sticker on the front glass. It peels off easily but leaves a lot of sticky residue. It came off after some scrubbing and doesn't change my opinion about the quality of the product.Best Deals on Southern Enterprises Tennyson Mahogany Electric Fireplace
This fireplace heats my 24 X 24 office perfectly and looks so beautiful and creates a cozy yet professional environment. My 47 inch flat TV sits on top which was the primary reason for this unit! Winters are tough in Chicago and rather than turning up the heat in the whole house, I can tourn on the fireplace and I am warm and cozy in my at-home professional office! the price was compatible with producs at Lowes, Home Depot and Mernards but this is much better looking and a fair price!Merry Christmas to me!!

The product looks good when assembled, and assembly is not difficult, instructions are pretty good considering it comes from China. We had some problems, however, first with the delivery, when one of the delivery men (it comes via a trucking company, as it is too big for UPS or Fedex) dropped the box containing the fireplace unit in our driveway because he was in such a hurry that he tried to carry our paperwork in one hand and the box in his other hand-didn't work! Luckily, the packing was strong enough that there was no damage to the unit. Then, when opening the fireplace mantel box, we found three damaged pieces inside-surprisingly they were in the center of the carton, presumably well-protected from shipping damage. Who knows? Maybe they were packed in damaged condition at the factory in China. Anyway, a phone call to SEI in Texas had the required replacement parts on their way, and they arrived 8 calendar days later via UPS. Customer service was good, but I was still frustrated by having to wait the extra week to continue the assembly, as I had already assembled the bookcases. I think this item is a decent value compared to the prices I've seen in stores or online. However, I also believe all electric fireplaces like this are very overpriced considering what you actually get. We hope it will last for a good long time, but we'll have to wait and see on that.Sunday, February 23, 2014

unit is used as a supplement heat source in basement and so far it works excellent, thermostat control will shut unit off and back on and this heater requires no electricity. It will be excellent for a ice storm when it knocks the power out for days.
Amazon was great to work with you on your order and Kozy World was great about the shipping.
I would definitely buy from them again.

Discount Dyson AM04 Hot Heater Fan - White with Silver Trim
I bought my Dyson Hot heater for one simple reason, curiosity.
The Dyson sounded promising and made the pitch that it was something truly new and revolutionary so I bit and got one....a white one!
At first glance the quality looked good, fit and finish were tight and it looked good on the surface.
Sitting down, I kicked back and prepared to enjoy reading the manual....that was short lived as it had lots of information on warranty and legal guck and only the most basic of operation information with absolutely no information showing specifications, no power use...no Heat output....nothing
Moving on I plugged it into the power use tester to see how much power it would consume and in return how much heat it put out at 12 inches away.
Power use was high especially considering how low the temperature it was putting out, for example of the ten temp ranges (here are three examples): Level 1: 1207 watts @ 102 degrees ambient at 12 inches...Level 5: 1280 watts @ 108 degrees at 12 inches ambient and Level 10: 1391 watts @ 105 degrees at 12 inches ambient...I can rub my hands together and get higher temps, these are dismally low numbers when compare to my 5 year old HOTBLAST Ceramic heater that puts out 142 degrees at 24 inches at 750 watts.
True the heater is being touted as SAFE and it is, but it has no more safety features than any $15.00 heater, not even a grounded plug....both have tip over protection and overload protection but claiming to be safe while you sit there freezing as your power meter spins, little conciliation since this is SUPPOSED to be a heater first and foremost not some over priced thing ah ma jig!
Now comes the real fun....in the three weeks I have owned it, from day one the thermostat has been mis-behaving, (dysfunctional). It turns off when it reaches the preset shutoff but between 30 seconds to two minutes later turns right back on and just continues this off and on routine indefinitely or until you manually shut the heater off.
Then there is mis-calibrated thermostat between three to five degrees high when in operation (it says it is 68 degrees when in reality two other thermostats placed right next to the base confirm it is actually only 64.
Dyson's HOT selling points are as follows:
1. Brushless motor (the fan / heater industry has used them for over 20 years)
2. Air Multiplier Technology ( Ducted fans have been used in portable heaters for over 50 years)
3. Long Range heat projection, (this I will agree with, Dyson has figured it out that smooth low pressure air flow is better than high pressure when it comes to heat, the faster it moves the more is dissipates and the more heat is lost, unfortunately the high energy requirement to generate the low heat output from this heater means energy efficiency and heat production is poor at best.
4. Safety features (nothing new here virtually all portable electrics have had tip over and overload protection for the past ten years and this heater also lacks one of the MOST important feature.....a GROUNDED PLUG!)
5. Precise temperature control (a very standard digital temperature control that with the Dyson lacks timed use feature and in my samples case had debilitating issues....see above)
6. No Worry Burning Smell (burning dust odor is typical of the environment it is used in and old wire or nichrome type heaters which have long since been replaced by cheaper aluminum PTC elements, the Dyson does have micro fine air intakes but deep inside it also has a secondary filter that is not easily serviced to stop any dirt from getting into the heating elements from the impeller itself, unfortunately THIS is what will plug and heat output and efficiency will be reduced significantly. Other odors the Dyson Hot WILL pick up because it is made of plastic will be food and environmental odors).
7. High Air Flow Cooling Fan ( because this is a heater the fan velocity has been greatly reduced over the Dyson fan and is simply no better than the fan mode available on 95% of all portable heaters over the past five years)
8. Complete Control with its remote control unit (again, nothing new here as most mid range portable heaters $19.95 and above have them but the Dyson is different in that it is tiny and very easy to loose).
Dyson claims they took three years and 22 engineers to come up with this,if so I seriously want to know where they were educated because in the end the Dyson HOT is simply no better than most $15.00 portable electric heaters when it comes to safe heating.
P.T. Barnum said it best "There is a Sucker Born Every Minute"....or Captain Jack Sparrow "Take what ya can....GIVE NOTHIN' BACK"....that's this heater then there is the salt in the wound, not even made in the UK....made in Malaysia because labor is 30% cheaper!
Sorry Dyson, I had really hoped for just a grain of truth but your product simply does not prove out at many levels...If B.S. were heat, the Dyson HOT could heat the world! This product is amazing. Not as a heater but as a conversation piece and a work of industrial art. You can buy a simple couch at Ikea and it will do just fine or you can buy an expensive Italian sofa for ten times as much and be proud. You can buy a boring but functional suit for 200 bucks or you can get a tailored one for three grand. This heater does what it says and it looks great doing it. My only real gripe is that it can be a bit noisy but not more noisy than a traditional one. And I kind of wish it was ceramic. That would have extra cool factor.

This certainly isn't marketed at people with a knowledge of thermodynamics. It advertises that it uses 1/10 the heat of a space heater, but that means it also puts out 1/10 of the heat.
As as space heater I can see this thing being pretty poor because of its low heat output, but It worked perfectly for my application. I used it for a makeshift kotatsu (a Japanese heated table) It works great for that because you don't want 1000 watts cooking your feet. Its really thin, and it won't burn you if you hit it with your knee. It was a tad difficult to mount upside-down. I cut out some wooden mounting blocks and screwed it directly into the bottom of the table. They give you velcro to mount it vertically, which is a joke considering how heavy it is.
It basically takes a 100W light bulb and spreads the energy across a 3x2 ft panel. It will raise the temp under your desk a degree or two, but if you are expecting "radiant" heat, you need to look elsewhere.
I'm now purchasing two more to mount under my living room futon to keep my wife and I's legs warm under a blanket while we watch movies this winter. I'd previously set a 1200 watt fin style space heater under there but the heat was too much when cranked and got cold when the thermostat shut off. Plus the risk of fire had me constantly checking it.
The warmth of the cozy legs panel is perfect for many applications, so be creative, just don't expect it to heat an entire room. I personally think they're awesome and very safe.
Highly Recommended,
David

I bought this heater for our bird cage to keep them warm during cool season. Its radiant model works just great, zero noise, distributes the heat evenly and does not disturb the birds like the regular fan heater models that not only not energy efficient but also really noisy. And best of all, it uses only 100W try to compare it to any other regular heater that would eat 750W-1000W minimum. Got it amortized in less than two months. The overall dimension is about 16"x22"x1" so it can be placed anywhere. It delivers what is advertised, but few people (including myself) actually realize how much heat 100W is.It basically takes a 100W light bulb and spreads the energy across a 3x2 ft panel. It will raise the temp under your desk a degree or two, but if you are expecting "radiant" heat, you need to look elsewhere.

I thought this would be perfect for my office, which is always kept freezing cold. However, while it fits great under desk, low voltage etc, and the panel itself is warm, you can't feel any heat unless you are physically touching it. with it's feet it doesn't sit high enough to slide your feet underneath so your legs can actually be within an inch of the panel, I've raised it up on boxes on either side, so my feet can partially fit under, but still I freeze at work all day. not satisfied.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Indus-Tool CL Cozy Legs Flat-Panel 150-Watt Radiant Heater
I purchased two of these 3 years ago for my bathroom. I mounted one under my towel bar and the other next to my toilet, then wired them to a motion sensing outlet for extra efficiency. I hate utility bills, so this item has been perfect for me. I now have warm towels and a warm toilet seat when wanted. They've also taken the winter chill out of my bathroom.I'm now purchasing two more to mount under my living room futon to keep my wife and I's legs warm under a blanket while we watch movies this winter.
Highly Recommended,
David

The a/c works fantastic; haven't needed the heat yet, since it's triple digit weather here in Texas. The only drawback was the instructions. Said it would take an hour to install but it took my husband and I all day. Maybe it was our fault, since we are not technicians, but the instructions were hard to follow. However we are comfortable in our 1925 home thanks to this product.

I needed a small, lightweight heater to warm-up the bathroom on cold winter mornings. This one one did it in spades. On cold winter mornings, this little heater quickly warmed up a freezing bathroom in no time. Before finishing brushing my teeth, the bathroom was warm and cozy to shower. A comfortable temperature was maintained as long as I was in the bathroom. This heater is small about 13 in. square and very quiet. And best of all, the price was very reasonable. What more could one ask for?

Small yet gives out a lot of heat. I had tried a few others that either were way too loud, or the temperature dial seemed "off." I do have it in a small bedroom, but it does a fine job.Best Deals on Impress IM-730W Oscillating Fan Heater with Thermostat White

I love all of the features on this fan. It puts out a lot of heat. The oscillator is fairly quiet. The handle makes it easy to carry around.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Impress IM-730W Oscillating Fan Heater with Thermostat White
We keep this in the bathroom for that extra little bit of warmth for when you get out of the shower in the winter in chilly upstate NY. Love it.Monday, December 9, 2013

UPDATE (8/19/2013): As of today, it is a piece of junk--1.5 yrs later. I just order a Zojirushi for twice the cost but will most likely last at least 4 times as long.
ORIGINAL REVIEW (1/18/2012);
This Secura water boiler is to replace my old Zojirushi boiler (of 6.5 yrs), which finally kick the bucket; the manual pump won't produce any pressure.
Most of the reviews posted prior to mine are pretty valid, but I like to add few more points:
1. the highest setting is 208°F, but that's max temperature where the water boils, then it's kept at about 175°F the rest of the time. So if you want to brew coffee, you need to hit reboil and get the water right after it is done boiling. For tea, you should set it lower.
2. "Manufactured by Secura, Inc. Brookfield, Wisconsin, USA" was printed on the box, and printed right next to it was "Made in China". A bit ambiguous.
3. The power cord connector is a three-prong type like that used for the computer, and the plug is also three-prong. Unlike the Japanese "mag-safe" style connector, if you accidentally caught the cord, the boiler will likely come along with it.
4. Overall quality is good, comparable to Japanese ones (there's Japanese on the inside indicating the FULL line, so I presume Secura is competing with Japanese brands in their home turf), the stainless exterior looks classy, but the faceplate on top isn't glued down completely.
5. The outside is warm, but not really different than all the boiler I've come across (all my relatives and friends have a countertop water boiler--it's an Asian thing).
6. Boiling a full tank from cold to boil takes about 25 min, but reboiling takes significantly less (of course).
The quality makes me believe this unit should last at least a few years, and if it lasted more than 6 yrs, I'm happy.
After almost a year and a half using this warmer/boiler, my family still loves it like when we first got it. It's still working very nicely, like new, trouble-free. Some other things I also like about it are the night light (very cool and useful) and its super-easy-to-clean stainless steel exterior (unlike other stainless steel products I have).
Original review November 2011 below:
The design is so beautiful.
The build quality is top-notch inside and out.
The price is very reasonable.
And most importantly, it works really well.
I looked at most warmers available here and chose this one, and I think I made the right decision.
However, this is the first time I have heard of and bought a product made by Secura, so I can't comment on its long term quality. But for now, I am very satisfied with it.
When the water is ready to be dispensed, the only indicator is the tiny boiling light turning off. If there was a beep or a chime, it would be very helpful.
Water drain on the bottom of the pot is raised almost an inch. No matter what you do, you will end up with an inch of water at the bottom that you cannot use unless you flip the pot.
When you unlock, a red light comes on. Many people think it is a infrared sensor. In other words, they think it will dispense when the light is blocked. To dispense, you have to press the dispense button or press a cup against a small white lever behind the spout.
There is no timer setting, so the pot will always be on.
Yes, the unit is warm to touch. Don't think it is insulated enough.
For the price, the product is decent. But, I will not buy another...

THis malfunctioned from the start by boiling over out of the vent slots on the top lid. We managed by leaving the lid open so that the pressure was relieved. After only 5 months of use, the "dispense" mechanism electronics malfunction such that the boiling hot water wont stop after you release the button...must be unplugged to get it to stop...problematic to say the least.Honest reviews on Secura 4-Quart Electric Water Boiler and Warmer, 18/10 Stainless

It's an awesome water heater. It has two temperature settings I like the lower one at 76 deg C because I don't like my water boiling hot. The laser beam is cool, too, for those late night refills :-). The spout is a no-drip spout, so after you stop pouring water into the cup, it will not drip onto your table. There's a lock feature so kids don't accidentally push the lever to dispense water. and there are 2 ways to dispense water button on top and the lever to push cup against. Overall, I live everything about this product!
