Using this with the instant hot water unit. Last hot water dispensers start leaking when the sediments start building up so much they clog the nozzle. This should save me from having to make another dispenser purchase.

Simple to install, well made, and compete Insinkerator's hot water dispenser series. I wish I know about this filter earlier.

Honest reviews on Insinkerator F-201 Hot and Cold Water Filtration System

I would rate this 5 stars, except that I wish I could have ordered the system without the filter. I replaced the F-201 with the F-601 filter as it lasts longer and filters more contaminants. There should be an option to buy the system either without a filter or with your choice of filters. I saw no such option.

I am pleased with the dual operation of this device, saves room in the sink area and looks neat and trim. With our instant gratification society, I wish the water would be boiling each time I use the heated side. Feels like I'm wasting water letting it run until the cooled water in the tube is expelled before the water is hot enough for my tea bag. Other than that, I love it.

After using one of the little Mr. Heater "Buddy" heaters, I expected this to be the same only larger. It's not.

Unlike the "Buddy", this does not have any way to regulate the heat except "on" or "off". Also, it doesn't have a pilot light. Instead, you just hold in a springloaded valve and let gas come out into the heater. There is a piezo sparker that is supposed to light it up, but I have not found it to work very well. However, using a match works OK, and a lighter-on-a-stick (for BBQs and fireplaces, etc.) would work even better.

But once it is lit, it really works quite well. Radiant heaters don't heat the air directly, so the heat tends to be fairly even by the time the surrounding objects start heating the air. This does take some time, though, depending on the size of the space you are heating.

Also, unlike the "Buddy", this requires ventilation, both at the ceiling and at the floor.

Shutoff is done just by shutting off the valve on the propane tank. There is a safety switch, however, which prevents the heater from continuing to pump the place full of propane if the flame goes out.

This is really more suited to a sheltered environment, like an unfinished garage or a carport, but not an indoor environment (like a house). I have used it in my garage. It's fairly quiet in operation, though it does moan during startup.

It runs off of a regular BBQ-sized propane tank (or bigger). According to the manual, it will not work properly running from a smaller tank.

Mr. Heater 35,000 BTU Propane Radiant Heater #MH35LP

This heater is just what I was looking for. Enough heat to keep work going out in the shop when the temperature drops below freezing without the kerosene smell of some other heaters. Easy starting.

I bought 3 other type of heaters with-in three weeks before trying this one. It works great. We use it to keep warm as we enter and exit our Hot Tub on our patio. It is easy to use and puts out more than enough heat, even on days when it was below 30 degrees. It would be nice if there were a way to regulate the heat output. On warmer days we just move the heater farther away and on colder days we move it closer. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Honest reviews on Mr. Heater MH35LP 35,000-BTU Propane Radiant Heater

I ordered the Mr. Heater MH35LP, but received a slightly different product. The box is labeled Heatstar by Enerco with a part number of HS35LP. It is missing the wheels and upper handle as pictured by Amazon. There is a small sticker placed over the Heatstar label that says MH35LP, but it's clearly a different product and there is no reference to the Mr. Heater brand on the product or documentation.

I suspect that the Mr. Heater and the Heatstar brand are manufactured by the same company and may be equally good products. However, I don't support Amazon sending an alternative product without my consent. It's false advertising to say the least.

And for those that might be ok without the wheels and the handle, consider that the one I received didn't include the hardware required to install the stand that holds it upright. I can't even use this one.

I ended up purchasing this for the covered portion of my back patio since the ceiling was two low to safely use the "normal" heaters that you see on patios at restaurants.

This Mr. Heater unit is a bit more industrial looking than those but it's low profile keeps it from grabbing your attention.

What you don't see in the picture (or in the manual or in the description) is that the supplied hose for connecting to the LP cylinder is a generous 12 feet long. The manual (which is overburdened with safety information) wants you to keep your LP tank at least 6 feet away so this gives you plenty of lee way.

Some people have noted problems starting the unit with the supplied piezoelectric starter but I had no issues there. It starts reliably for me every time. I have to admit that it does take a bit longer than I was comfortable with the first few times and there is a definite "woosh" that you get as the gas finally ignites but I never felt it was dangerous and the piezoelectric spark is visible so I *know* it's going to catch in fairly short order. It seems to take about 3 times longer than does my piezoelectrically started bar-b-que.

One note: The Mr. Heater website is not that great. You can't register your products there as of this writing. And their "contact them" form suffers from the same issue (cannot select mandatory State field), so you've got to use an actual stamp to register. A minor item unless you need support from them which I did not.

I bought a 34 inch fire pit at Home Depot and needed a decent cover to prevent weathering. I purchased this cover from amazon and it seems to do the trick. It fits a little big, but covers the fire pit well and keeps the rain out. I read a review stating that it dried and cracked while out in the sun for a couple of months. I think this is to be expected from any product of this kind. Putting some vinyl conditioner on it should help with that (like you would get for the vinyl in a car).

My only complaint is it has ties instead of a pullstring or elastic band at the bottom.

Overall decent product. It should do what it's designed to do: keep rain and sun out.

A gorgeous piece of furniture that is also a functional heat source. You'll never mistake the flames for the real thing, but the pure efficiency and low maintenance more than makes up for it.

I was a bit hesitant when I ordered this since I could only rely on a photo and a very brief description of the item and its features. Since I have Amazon Prime this 100+ pound fireplace shipped FREE and it was delivered in less than one week from the time I ordered it which was a huge savings on shipping alone. Combined with the fact it was already deeply discounted, it proved to be a major savings in more than one way. It arrived in two separate boxes, was very nicely packed with everything undamaged. The instructions could have been a bit more detailed but overall the assembly was manageable even for one person (a woman) to accomplish with relative ease. All parts were present with extra dowels, screws, etc. nicely packaged and clearly marked. I had it fully assembled in about an hour and a half.

Once assembled and turned on, it provided an extremely realistic flame and glowing logs along with digital temperature and timer and several settings for flame height and log glowing intensity as well as several timer options. Best of all, there is a remote control that allows you to change settings without having to get up. Also an extremely quiet blower that delivers toasty warmth to the room. It delivers warmth in relatively quick time and can be used without heat to add the ambiance of a flickering fire, and the heat can be used without the flame too.

This item exceeded my expectations in every way. The wood is a rich and dark brown with a nice patina, the slate is realistic in appearance, the antique bronze tiles add a nice touch and the overall look is imbued with understated elegance that compliments my traditional styled living room. I added an antique clock to the mantel and it is simply stunning! I now want to spend my time in a living room that once was hardly ever used.

To sum it up, it delivers a lot of features and quality for the price and the free shipping made the deal even sweeter! Thanks Amazon!

Reviews of Candle Warmers Etc. Auto Shutoff Candle Warmer

Candle Warmers Etc. Auto Shutoff Candle Warmer, White
Customer Ratings: 3.5 stars
Buy Now
I bought this with free shipping with Amazon Prime in black. This electric candle warmer has some very good features for the money. It melts the wax and diffuses the candle scent fairly quickly. The cord is sufficiently long and the warmer has an auto shutoff feature after 8 hours of use. This warmer will work well with both jar candles and candles in metal tins, but you will probably have some wax leakage from metal tins. If you want the scent to diffuse rapidly, you should use a 3.5 oz. or slightly larger jar candle.

The wax will melt entirely, so most likely you will not be able to light the candle again because the wick will drift, and you'll probably want to entirely remove it with tweezers or tongs. What you'll find is that even though the amount of wax will stay fairly constant, the candle scent will weaken over time, so you may want to try adding some essential oil prior to turning on the warmer or blending several candles together. If you want this for daily use around your home, you may want to pick up a few warmers and also look for some good deals on small jar candles. Since the wax will melt entirely, you can get creative and combine candles taking care not to burn yourself because the melted wax will be hot. You cannot burn the candle and use the warmer at the same time. The other nice thing about this warmer is that you can take it with you when you travel because it's lightweight and won't take up much space. It is also suitable for use in a bedroom, dorm room or other place where an open flame would not be a good idea. You can also use candle tarts or scent tarts if you put them in a glass container, but it is generally recommended that you melt 3.5 oz. to 18 oz. of wax at one time. Enjoy!

I still love these and I have them distributed around my house. They work really well, and you will get a lot more hours out of your candles if you use this warmer. They make a great gift for anyone!

I bought 3-oz. candles at CVS (pumpkin, sugar cookie, evergreen, Christmas spice) for $1 (or less when on sale) and they last and last. CVS sells these seasonal scents from Candle-lite and they work perfectly with this warmer.

The other thing that you need to know is that the on/off switch often requires you to turn it on several times until you see the red light. Also sometimes if the power goes off and then comes on, these warmers will turn on as well, so it's good to place them where it will never be a problem for them to come on when you aren't expecting this to happen.

I definitely advise against metal tin candles, but they will work in a pinch.

Highly recommended product.

June 11, 2012 I still highly recommend this product. This is a very good solution for adding fragrance to your home. The CVS candles for 99 cents are a good way to have long-lasting scent. One warmer can scent two to three adjacent rooms. I keep one in the kitchen and it "wafts" into the dining room and living room.

I really dig this candle warmer. I guess it doesn't immediately scent the place as the one writer complained, but I like the "set it and forget it" feature. After awhile, the scent fills the whole floor. I don't mind waiting a little bit for the scent to form. That's good enough for me -plus, you don't have the hassle with sooty air conditioner filters, dirty air, and open flames. I use the very large Yankee candles and I haven't had to wait long for the scent to fill the air. Maybe there might be a problem if you use the small candles. I used to go through candles so fast but using this candle warmer, the candle seems to last forever. What a cost savings!! I bought an extra one to use in my office as a coffee warmer for a big mug of hot coffee. It really keeps it lovely and hot. Plus, I love the auto shut off feature -it's hard to find that in a coffee warmer. Update Mar 2013: My warmer is still chugging along and I use it several times a week. It's a winner.

Best Deals on Candle Warmers Etc. Auto Shutoff Candle Warmer

I bought this in black for use in my home. I run a home daycare and am not allowed to burn candles during daycare hours. This is perfect for me. I hardly ever burn candles anymore. I have had other warmers, but none that turned off automatically. I feel much better turning it on knowing that in 8 hours it will turn off and will not be left on. The cord is long, which is a bonus. I will be ordering a few more for around the house. The price($8.99) is great and with prime shipping, it is a great deal. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a good quality candle warmer for a decent price.

I like the design of this cooktop, the simplicity of the controls, size, operation, power cord, noise level, all very good. And the frypan was well built and attractive for a non-stick item.

I would like to give it a 5 star rating, but can't because the unit I received was defective, and the replacement unit was also defective (but in a different way). I would like to think I just got a couple of bad units, as with proper operation, it would be a great unit.

I was excited to receive the unit, I had been reading about induction cook tops for quite some time. I already had two pans, a small carbon steel wok, and a stainless steel (with magnetic heat disk bottom) omlete pan. Plus this unit came with a really great non-stick frypan with a bottom magnetic heat disk bonded to the bottom. So I knew I had the right cookware to use. I also had an electric meter to test the wattage draw at various settings so I could evaluate the performance with each setting.

Intial set-up was simple, plug it in, place a pan with a couple of cups of water on the unit, and hit the on button. It defaulted to the #5 setting, (specified as 800w) and with-in a couple minutes water was boiling. All pans performed in a similar manner, but I did note that the wattage varied by the pan, from 600w to 700w. I continued testing the lower settings, the wattage dropped some, heating seemed consistant, the lower two settings seemed to jump from .5w to 200 to 500 and back again, as expected from what the manual said. All was fine and good, I was pretty happy with the unit.

Then I tried the higher settings, with each of the pans. Other than a slight variation in wattage, results were the same. #6 jumped the wattage up about 100, #7 another 50w to 850w, but #8, 9, & 10 would surge from 600w to 1100w, water would boil ferociously, then not, then back again. If I tried adding more water (like one quart) it took forever to get it to boil, even on the highest setting. I was so dissapointed.

I reluctantly asked Amazon for a replacement, they were great, sent me out a new one in two days, I got a pre-printed return label, a great experience.

Then to test the new unit. I was so hopeful, but where the first unit seemed to work properly on settings #6 and lower, the replacement unit seemed to surge on all the power settings, and would never rise above 900w, even on the highest settings.

It was so dissappointing. Since the unit is rated at 1600w, I think I just got two bad units. The first one worked so well in the lower settings, where one would do most of their cooking, but I need the ability to boil as well. So much promise, I really liked the unit, but the performance was not there for me.

I returned both units, and purchased an 1800w Duxtop unit. I will review it after another week of use, so far so good, I don't like the design as well, the lower settings are a bit hotter than I wanted, but lots and lots of heat at the higher settings.

I attended a cooking class taught by the head chef at the Capital Hotel in Little Rock, AR and he used this device several time during the eveing. I bought one for myself and love it. I can just sit it on the count top and cook away without worrying about flames or heated coils. Just DO NOT USE IT ON A METAL SURFACE! think about it & you will know why! I am a house mother in a fraternity house and have a tiny apartment with no stove this is perfect. I would recommend it for anywhere, ex: camper. As long as you have electricity, you can have a stove right on the picnic table if you like. No flames to catch it on fire. Light weight, portable and works as well or better than gas. If you have caphelon sorry cannot use it on this device. But, any pan that a magnet will stick to will cook well. Try not to scratch it up as it is a glass surface device. Also you can use a razor blade scraper to clean up any big spills but they don't cook on the surface like other stoves and clean up is easier anyway. You can spread a cloth beneath it and throw it in the wash no counter to wipe. Yeah! I will even let my granddaughter cook on this device with supervision, of course.

Best Deals on Fagor Countertop Induction Cooking Set, 2-Piece

I ordered this burner to use in our basement. We have a small kitchen area there with a microwave, but no means of actually cooking anything. I wanted this to mainly make some eggs to go along with toast for breakfast. Wow the eggs are ready by the time the toast is done and I start them both together. I only use the setting of 3, not sure how hot it gets on 5! I really like this product does exactly what it says it would do.

Honest reviews on Fagor Countertop Induction Cooking Set, 2-Piece

received this 2 piece set about 3 weeks ago. Cooktop seems to work very well but the pan is a joke. All induction cooktops must be used with magnetic, flat bottom pans. If the pan bottom is warped it will not cook evenly. Our first attempt to use the set was to add about one inch of water to the pan to see how quickly it would boil. Well, the water boiled very quickly on most of one half of the pan but not at all on the other. We then tried to fry two eggs. Both fried but one was way overcooked and the other under cooked. When the pan cooled we wiped it clean and turned it over. The pan bottom is bowed on one half and misses contacting the cooking surface by from 1/8 to 1/4 inch. I contacted Fagor America and they requested I email photos showing the problem. I did the same day and was told they would get back with me by the next week at the latest. Well, they didn't. I called them today and they have not received any answer from their technical department, and its now been two full weeks. I said I need an answer by tomorrow or will return the cooktop set to Amazon. Its a real shame because the cooktop is worthless without proper cookware. We will be buying proper pans but wrongly assumed their included pan would allow sufficient testing before spending for new cookware. If we do get a correct replacement we will update the review accordingly.

UPDATE March 27, 2013

Received the replacement skillet today and we tried it right away. HOORAY the bottom is flat, meets the induction cooktop surface perfectly and cooking was as fast (or faster)than gas and heat distribution was 100%.Gyess the warped/bowed bottom was a fluke.

Updated rating to 4 star as the cooktop is really works well.

When I placed my order for this package deal I also included the Max Burton 6010 8-Inch Induction Interface Disk. Good thing I did. I had assumed that most of our pots and pans would work with Induction Heat, but looks are deceiving. Almost none of them will.

I received my Fagor portable Induction cooker and Interface disk 3 days ago on a Saturday. The packaging was in perfect condition and everything worked right out of the box. My first impression of the unit was it's amazing simplicity in the layout and function of the control panel. No bells and whistles and un-needed frills. Just basic, but adequate form and function. My wife will like this.

Having no prior experience with Induction cookers, I decided to play with the unit to become familiar with the controls, and it's capabilities. My primary reason for this purchase was to ease the annual hassle we have getting our electric range prepared for a very large two piece Clam Steamer. We have a Range hood that provides a shelf for our Microwave oven; but the steamer is too tall to fit under the hood and still be centered over a burner. So each year I have to store away the Microwave and hood until after Clam Bake season; and my wife hates it because she can't use the Microwave.

I was pretty certain my Clam Steamer would work with Induction Heat because it's made of enameled steel, and a magnet sticks to it. My only concern was the size and capacity of the Steamer. The two piece Steamer is 12" wide and 16" high and can hold several quarts of water in the lower boiler. So when the package arrived I decided to do some testing. Here are the tests I performed to compare the Fagor unit against a small burner on our glass top electric range. For all of these tests I used the 6" range burner. I've also noticed the Fagor seems to concentrate its heat within the 4.5" inner circle on its glass top.

Test #1: 4 cups of cold tap water poured into a room temperature copper bottom domed teapot.

In this test I used the Fagor cooker set to power level 10 with the Induction Interface disk between the teapot and the cooker. From start to whistling, took about 12 minutes. The same teapot placed on the electric Range, starting at room temperature with cold tap water from start to whistling took 9 minutes. These results were not unexpected. My copper bottom teapot had to be used with the Interface disk, so some heat energy was lost there. Also, the Ranges burner covered a full 6" instead of the Fagors appearant 4.5" hot spot.

Test #2: 4 cups of cold tap water placed in the Induction ready fry pan that came with the Fagor cooker.

This turned out to be the real indication of how well Induction heating works. Placed on the Fagor, it took 5 minutes to reach what I deemed to be "boiling". On the Range, the same fry pan took about 7.5 minutes to achieve the same perceived level of "boiling". In this case, an Apples to Apples comparison showed that Induction cooking was faster and more energy efficient.

Test #3: This wasn't so much a test as it was a validation of my assumption that I could use the Fagor cooker to heat my Clam Steamer.

I placed the steamer centered over the Fagor cooker and It felt very well supported and showed no indication of any instability. I poured 4 quarts of cold tap water into the lower boiler, and replaced the top steamer section and turned on the Fagor to power level 10. In about 25 minutes the entire steamer was too hot to touch. Using oven mitts I lifted off the top steamer section and looked down into the boiler. The water was in a rolling boil that made me think that once the water was heated to a boil, I could probably turn down the Fagors power setting to a lower level to maintain a less intense boil.

From here on out, my wife and I will have to play with the unit to become familiar with it. I'm not yet ready to run out and buy all new Induction Ready cookware to replace our perfectly good glass and aluminum pots and pans. But as they wear out I'll have a new criteria for picking out replacements. So far I'm very pleased with the performance of this unit.

This certainly isn't marketed at people with a knowledge of thermodynamics. It advertises that it uses 1/10 the heat of a space heater, but that means it also puts out 1/10 of the heat.

As as space heater I can see this thing being pretty poor because of its low heat output, but It worked perfectly for my application. I used it for a makeshift kotatsu (a Japanese heated table) It works great for that because you don't want 1000 watts cooking your feet. Its really thin, and it won't burn you if you hit it with your knee. It was a tad difficult to mount upside-down. I cut out some wooden mounting blocks and screwed it directly into the bottom of the table. They give you velcro to mount it vertically, which is a joke considering how heavy it is.

I bought this heater for our bird cage to keep them warm during cool season. Its radiant model works just great, zero noise, distributes the heat evenly and does not disturb the birds like the regular fan heater models that not only not energy efficient but also really noisy. And best of all, it uses only 100W try to compare it to any other regular heater that would eat 750W-1000W minimum. Got it amortized in less than two months. The overall dimension is about 16"x22"x1" so it can be placed anywhere. I'm glad I found this one and Amazon is the best and least expensive place to buy from.

It delivers what is advertised, but few people (including myself) actually realize how much heat 100W is.

It basically takes a 100W light bulb and spreads the energy across a 3x2 ft panel. It will raise the temp under your desk a degree or two, but if you are expecting "radiant" heat, you need to look elsewhere.

Honest reviews on Indus-Tool CL Cozy Legs Flat-Panel 150-Watt Radiant Heater

I thought this would be perfect for my office, which is always kept freezing cold. However, while it fits great under desk, low voltage etc, and the panel itself is warm, you can't feel any heat unless you are physically touching it. with it's feet it doesn't sit high enough to slide your feet underneath so your legs can actually be within an inch of the panel, I've raised it up on boxes on either side, so my feet can partially fit under, but still I freeze at work all day. not satisfied.

I purchased two of these 3 years ago for my bathroom. I mounted one under my towel bar and the other next to my toilet, then wired them to a motion sensing outlet for extra efficiency. I hate utility bills, so this item has been perfect for me. I now have warm towels and a warm toilet seat when wanted. They've also taken the winter chill out of my bathroom.

I'm now purchasing two more to mount under my living room futon to keep my wife and I's legs warm under a blanket while we watch movies this winter. I'd previously set a 1200 watt fin style space heater under there but the heat was too much when cranked and got cold when the thermostat shut off. Plus the risk of fire had me constantly checking it.

The warmth of the cozy legs panel is perfect for many applications, so be creative, just don't expect it to heat an entire room. I personally think they're awesome and very safe.

Highly Recommended,

David

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program My wife has a Little Green PROHeat machine (now made by Bissell as well) that must be at least 10 years old at this point and frankly, isn't so great. So when this arrived, I wasn't terribly impressed, since it pretty much looks a smaller version of the Little Green, so I figured it would clean the same. Boy was I wrong! This thing cleans like a maniac. It's a bit clunky to use, but wow, it really cleans!

My cat decided that she wanted to help me test this device, and created two "pet messes": one on the carpeted floor of the basement, and one nearly at the top of the carpeted stairs. (It's the same indoor/outdoor carpet on both.) I actually had already tried getting these out with the Resolve, Easy Clean, Carpet Cleaning System, 22 Ounce, but there were still a noticeable and yucky spots.

Unboxing and assembly were not hard, but clunkier than I expected. I immediately noticed that the solutions included in the package were different than the ones I had traditionally used with our old Little Green. I filled the "Clean" side with hot tap water (it helped to not do it in the kitchen sink, where I couldn't see the little markings, but instead do it on the counter with a cup), then added solution 1, and some solution 2, plugged everything in, and I was ready to go.

The instructions had some nonsense about pre-treating, but I couldn't figure out how. You can't spray unless the device is on, and if the device is on, you're treating.

The Deep Reach tool was very aggressive about spraying the solution EVERYWHERE. Simply resting it on the carpet isn't sufficient, you have to really press in. At this point I got fed up and decided to knock off a star. Btw, there's another tool included, but if you paid for the Deep Reach tool, why would you ever want to use the shallow tool?

Once things were rocking and rolling, the stain came off almost immediately. It was extremely impressive. The second stain went away nearly as quickly, but I had a hard time cramming the deep reach tool into the joint. With a bit of work, that stain disappeared too.

I was very pleased to see that the electric cord was more than long enough to cross the room or go up the stairs. I could probably have made it across the room *and* up the stairs if I needed. It's also light, so lugging it up the stairs shouldn't be an issue for anyone.

The motor is surprisingly quiet, as long as the device is on the ground. Lift it up, and it does a great impression of a jet engine.

Getting rid of the dirty water did not go so well. I had a crazy hard time opening it, and while I was trying to, nasty liquid was leaking and running all over my hands. YUCK! Minus a star. Next time I'm wearing gloves, but Bissell should really take a page out of Dyson's book and figure out some way to dispose of the dirty water in a more sanitary fashion.

All in all, this is a pretty decent machine. I have to wonder why you would choose this and not the BISSELL Little Green PROheat Deep Reach Spot Cleaner, Bright White, 50Y6 (a newer version of the one we already had). At the time I'm writing this review, both are the exact same price on Amazon, both are by Bissell, but the Little Green actually heats the water as opposed to this one which appears to just let it cool down if you don't use it quickly. (I see some note about "Heatwave Technology" but I'm confused: if it heats the water, why did I have to add hot tapwater?) I've had the BISSELL Spotbot Pet Handsfree Spot and Stain Cleaner with Deep Reach Technology, 33N8A on my wishlist for quite a while: it appears to be the same thing as this but automated. Honestly, this was so quick that I would save the dough and just go with this.

I tested this on two small messes, using the "Small Mess" setting. When I was done with the two (not even a minute each, excluding stair walking time), the clean side was empty, so I couldn't go after a third mess. I was surprised to see that the dirty water tank had already reached the fill line, which tells me that if you tried using the large mess setting, you would end up having to empty the dirty tank quite a few times during the course of your work. With no heater, I would be worried that the water would get too cool and that by the end of your treatment, your cleaning would be less effective.

[Update 2Mar2013] My 3 year old son developed a tummy virus and (sparing readers the details) we ended up with carrot juice on our nice new light den carpet. The carpet has a stainmaster coating and we blotted everything up almost immediately, but there were still bright orange stains. We know from our prior carpet that carrot juice is nearly impossible to get out, so we were grateful to have this right there!

The Bissell did a great job of cleaning up the mess. I used a LOT of cleanser, filling up "large messes" THREE times, even though the mess was not extraordinarily big. The third time I actually ran out of Bissell fluid and used Rug Doctor solution I had lying around. It worked, but created more suds. We had to empty the dirty water side almost ten times, which was really annoying, and I forgot to use the rubber gloves I mentioned earlier, so it was really gross. All that said, whatever is left of the stain is nearly undetectable. After drying, the carpet isn't crunchy, which was something I was concerned about as well.

This was also a really good example of why to have the SpotClean instead of the SpotBot. This was not just a little spot on the carpet, but a medium sized irregular mess with small drops spattered around. [End Update]

[Update 12 Mar 2013] I've used this a few times now, including on a "Green Machine" smoothie that got knocked onto the aforementioned light Den carpet. The extra space in the dirty side accommodates foam from the Rug Doctor cleaner. The Bissell stuff didn't foam, which I like better. So why am I still using the Rug Doctor? Because I can't find the replacement cleansers for this! I can only find the BISSELL OXYgen Boost Stain Remover, Portable Machine Formula, 0801A as an "add-on item" from Amazon Prime, but that's not OXYgen2 like what was included in the package and it looks like that's only a 16oz bottle. It's pretty easy to find the BISSELL 2X Spot & Stain, 32 Ounces, 79B9 in a large size. It's a bit confusing to find things like BISSELL 2X Pet Stain and Odor Advanced Formula, 16 Ounces, 74R71. I'm assuming that's in place of the 2X Spot & Stain, but maybe it's in place of the OXYgen2 or something additional? I'm going to try contacting Bissell, and will update this review once I get clarity. [End Update]

I really couldn't find anything to complain about with this cleaner (aside from their wanting to sell you their cleaning products, and warning you in the manual that if you don't use their products, you will unleash the 7 circles of doom and fire -you know, standard "buy OUR stuff" boilerplate ^_), so the video just shows me walking you through setting the unit up, and then shows 2 test cases for spot cleaning.

The first test case is in direct sunlight, and I think it came out OK, I did it in multiple takes, and I walk you through the steps as I am doing them. The second test case I did out of direct sunlight (I was worrying that the light levels were too high, and washing everything out), and I did it in one take, without talking much through it -it does show the unit in action again though, so I included it as further evidence of the unit working.

Overall, the unit is nice and small, works well, isn't too loud, assembles easily, and is easy to maintain and clean.

5 stars.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We used to have a full-size carpet cleaner that we used as needed but after we built a new house, sans carpet, we eventually relegated it to the Goodwill bin and did the small rug and upholstry touch-ups required by life with kids via traditional spray cleaners. (I've found Spot Shot Professional Carpet Stain Remover 3/18 oz. works better than anything else we've tried.)

Anyway, this came along at a great time as we recently got two puppies and, in the course of housebreaking, have had to clean up WAAY more messes than usual and it seems they prefer to use the various large area rugs, instead of the easily cleanable tile (of course). Anyway, we had plenty of things to immediately test the Bissell SpotClean out on.

First, this is quite small which is good, in that it makes it easy to carry, but bad as it means you have to refill it frequently. Unlike their automated pet version (BISSELL Spotbot Pet Handsfree Spot and Stain Cleaner with Deep Reach Technology, 33N8A), this is simply a small, hand-tool cleaning unit, not a set-it-on-the-spot and walk away cleaner.

I found it fairly easy to fill and the included solution--which won't last very long--did a good job. Using the handheld wand was straightforward and it really worked, though it's VERY loud and soapy water sprays everywhere if you forget to turn the unit off before lifting the wand (oops).

It did a great job cleaning, leaving the carpet quite wet, but clean-smelling and standing tall (not soaked through).

The biggest downside is that the unit runs for only a very small amount of time (>5 minutes) before running out of cleaning solution and filling with dirty water, requiring frequent emptying, which is cumbersome and messy (do it outside is my suggestion), if you're trying to do an area of any size. For me to clean a 6x9 rug took about four refill trips, and that's without painstakingly going over every inch.

So, for the occasional spot, which is mostly what we need it for, it's great. If you're looking for a larger, more complete carpet cleaner, go with an upright, because it's going to be a lot easier and come with, for the most part, the same hand tools as well.

Honest reviews on BISSELL SpotClean Portable Carpet Cleaner, 5207A

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program If you have read any of my other reviews, you know that I have young children (and a dog) who absolutely love to make messes. As a result, I often have stains on the carpet that need to be cleaned. In my slightly neurotic quest to maintain perfectly groomed rugs, I have, in the past, purchased a Rug Doctor, which is a top of the line carpet-cleaning machine.

Unfortunately, there were these annoying black spots on the carpet near my kitchen, and no matter how many times I went over them with the Rug Doctor, they would absolutely not come up. I even tried pre-treating them!

After putting this little machine together, I added water, oxy-clean solution (which claims to continue cleaning for 6-8 hours) and regular cleaning solution. I then clipped on the deep-reach attachment and went to work on the stains. After going over them three times, I could tell that the machine had removed most of the stains. I'm not sure if this was due to the little brushes on the bottom of the attachment or the solution, but it worked, and I was happy.

The one thing that I absolutely hate about this product (enough to drop it a star) is the fact that the tank that the dirty water goes into is tiny. I holds about an inch of dirty water (or enough for me to clean for five minutes), and then it has to be emptied. I do not understand how the tank can be at least twelve inches high and only hold that little amount of dirty water. However, I also suspect that Bissell did not intend for the machine to be used to clean up large messes.

Although this is a hindrance, the other plus is that the machine is quite small and light. It is narrow and short, so it easily fits under my kitchen or bathroom sink or wherever I may choose to put my cleaning supplies.

I have lots of plans for this machine. I'm going to clean the carpets in the van, scrub the sofas...If you have young children, you definitely want this product!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program

The video has: from unpacking the box, to assembly to a live test and ending opinions (I sped up portions of the video to show progress and end results)

But a quick summary for those wishing to read some thoughts quickly before the video.

The machine is well packed and I appreciate the sample amounts of chemicals provided

Assembly was simple with no tools needed. Everything snapped together and just using the front of the box I easily understood how

The tank for water and chemical had great markings for measuring the amount of chemical needed

The tank for dirty water was the same as the fill tank but only held a small amount. For large messes this means many emptying trips

The two cleaning heads both performed well, just remember to push the red one flat and the other at an angle as shown in the video

Clean up was simple by emptying the tank using the plastic plunger on the top. I suggest rinsing it with clean water before storage

Wrapping the cords and hose was quick and it was ready to be put away

Overall it did a great job of drawing water back out of the carpet but it left it damp. You could see it working hard through the clear tools to suck the water up. Make sure you point the heads correctly when applying the chemicals to make sure you do not spray it everywhere including on yourself. Mainly with the red nozzle.

The power has to be on for you to even spray for some pre-treat work, otherwise for safety the nozzles will not spray any chemicals. I appreciated that feature.

Overall a great product from Bissell and I have tested it in a few places in the house before giving my review and normal video here.
