I have used the regular Duraflame logs for years in fireplaces (crackle logs, color logs,...). When I was younger, I used to burn 2 or three at a time to get a really big fire going, it was a pretty expensive habit. I just tried these by accident since this was the only type of logs in a box left at Giant. Now that I have kids, a mortgage, you get it, at roughly 6 dollars a log I do think about the cost. I like Duraflame because they burn clean, don't introduce termites and other bugs, and get the job done.

Here is what I really like about these logs. If you burn four of them, basically a bundle, the fire is huge as in "I hope my fireplace is up for this" huge. It will impress. The fire puts out a lot of heat. Much more then the standard 5 lb log but not as long. It burns stronger and faster. The bigger longs burn slower, but really sort of die down after an hour and a half. Theses are about done at that time, but you got a much bigger fire. The big news is that if you burn one at a time you still get a nice fire two and you get basically the same fire as the 5 lb logs just for a shorter time frame. So basically, you get more fires per set if you live with shorter flame life or the need to put more logs on. The added bonus of cooking marshmallows just makes it all that much better.

The fact they they are done faster means you can clean up faster too. This is especially true if you let the fire burn out and don't use water to kill the fire. If you want a longer fire just put another log on, there is just more control.

I will buy these over the standard logs in the future because they are simply more fun and manageable. I highly recommend them and Duraflame products in general. In twenty years, I have never had a problem with their products.

I was hesitant about ordering these as I had foolishly purchased another brand of fire log to use in our new outdoor fire pit and discovered that they could not be used to roast marshmallows over. I was remiss in not checking the other fire log packaging where it did mention not to use in a barbecue setting. Of course I discovered this only after we cooked marshmallows over it and it made them taste like they'd been dipped in chemicals blech.

Well, the only reason our fire pit exists is to make s'mores and roast marshmallows! I was happy to have found these and ally hoped they would fit the bill. We have had two fires using the logs so far and are quite satisfied.

The "logs" come in 5lb packs, each pack contains 4 12"L x 4"W (approximate) "sticks". Each stick lasted about 45 minutes or so for us. A perfect length of time for our two children to roast their marshmallows. The entire package says it lasts about 2 hours however we got quite a bit longer than that out of them. It is wonderful to be able to use only what we needed to and be able to save the rest. There was a slight odor of charcoal and almost no smoke. It definitely does not bother my sinuses or eyes nearly as much as a regular wood fire does. It put out a good amount of heat as well. One trick when lighting the "sticks" is to use only one or two at a time and add more as you need them and light both ends well and be patient. Also, you do not need any other fuel with these. If you add wood it will smoke and smell like a regular fire. Not bad but wholly unnecessary. It leaves no more ash behind than a regular wood fire however, we did make sure to soak it thoroughly with water before going inside. The other 3-hour fire logs we purchased stayed hot for many hours after we had soaked it and that made us nervous. We had read of people seeing them re light even days after they were supposedly put out. These individually packaged "sticks" are small enough that they don't hold the heat after a good soaking. If you want the ease of use and convenience of fire logs and you want to be able to eat the food you cook over it without poisoning yourself these are definitely the way to go!

Tried a few different firestarters for my living room fire place. These heat up very quickly which gets my chimney cooking and the result is very little to no smoke in the house when starting a fire (I use these to start a few real logs and they work consistently well though not recommended unless you know what you are doing, stick around incase anything pops out of the fireplace (or use a grate). My wife and I love em, will buy them again and again (when they are priced around 30-35 a box), over that its cheaper just to get them from the grocery store.

I had been looking for a good raclette grill for sometime, after using several different styles at friends and families homes, I saw this one on Amazon. It arrived intact with all the necessary parts and is very easy to use. The grill top reverses to a crape grill which is also fun.

I recommend this particular grill above others I have used for several reasons. First, it can accomodate 8 people, while many grills max out at 6. Second, it has an adjustable temperature. We generally start out at a higher temperature then when everyone has slowed down and wants to eat slowly and talk I adjust the temperature down. Third, the grill is easy to clean. Its non-stick surface easily wipes off. I would advise to only use the included scrapers on the non-stick surface, if it gets scratched it will not be as easy to use. And fourth, it is very sturdy. This is a solidly built grill and looks great on the table. It is a little more money than some other models, but if you want to use it for years I would definately invest in the better grill.

I have a love for swiss food ever since I came back from Australia and missed my favorite Swiss Restaurant called Kellers. I heard about these Raclette grills from an officemate who used to live in Switzerland. Let me tell you it might seem like a complex item but it truly isn't. It is good for so many uses because it is a grill and broiler in one. On Saturday I go to the store and buy different fresh veggies, french bread, and meats. I marinate the meats and put them in the freezer and fridge. I usually do this in no more than an hour. Then every night after work my husband and I and any guests that might be visiting pull all of these out of the fridge and freezer and grill up whatever we want. Everyone can have the same thing or they can fix their own dishes using all the items you have out. Your options are limitless. We have made kabobs, sandwhiches, stir fry's, potatoes, omlettes, garlic bread, pizza, pretty much everything. Clean up is very simple you just clean the top grill plate and any raclette dishes you used. We keep the grill out on our table for every meal and saves me from standing on my feet all afternoon over a hot stove. Which can be very hard when you have come home late from working a long day! I also have a picky husband and this is a great way for us each to have whatever we want cooked the exact way we want it cooked.

I know and love raclette dinners from my home country Germany, so I was happy to find some that will work in the US. I tried to find out what the dimensions of the raclettes offered are, but without success. There was no answer to get anywhere. The dimensions listed on this page are obviously bogus, Amazon can not be contacted and Swissmar doesn't answer to emails. So finally I decided to just order one and was really disappointed: this raclette is much smaller than the raclettes I'm used to from home. The size of the grill plate is just 24 cm x 36 cm. The dishes are just 8.5 x 8.5 cm. The dishes are all lined up to the two sites, you can't turn the handles of the ones at the end to the front sides. If you sit around a rectangular table, the guests at the front ends of the table will have trouble to reach theirs. This raclette might work for 4 persons but is not suitable for 8 as normal European raclettes are.

We are having a lot of fun with this grill.

This grill is great fun for dinner parties. I have now thrown 4 dinner parties using it from basic grilling to fajitas. I plan to try the round side of the grill next for dessert crepes. Traditional raclette is cheese melted in the drawers, with pickles and cold meats. I also use it as a party activity for more healthy fare by offering a variety of marinated vegetables portobello mushrooms marinated in balsamic vinegar, olive oil, basil, garlic and red pepper is my favorite. I've grilled shrimp, asparagus, onions, chicken, tofu, bell peppers, sausages, sliced potatoes (I boil them a bit first.) Then I put out sauces for people to dip into as well.

I find it helps break the ice with guests who don't know one another so well, as they can talk about the grilling, etc.

My one complaint is that it would be hard for eight people to use, the most I have used it for now is six, but it worked really well for six. The adjustable heating works really nicely.

If you're looking for something new and fun, I highly recommend it. It is great for dinner parties and book club meetings (everyone can bring something to grill.)

I bought this Raclette grill for my wife thinking that it would just be another kitchen gadget that we never used. Wow, what a great way to have an intimate dinner. It's perfect to enjoy a relaxing meal with 2-4 adults. I guess you could entertain a larger group if you don't mind getting your fixins close to each other! If you're use to eating a fast meal in front of the TV then you should try raclette. It really makes you slow down and enjoy the meal.

We bought some very inexpensive miniature wooden tongs from a Chinese supply store that work very well for taking your food on and off the grill surface. I had to subtract a star just because calling it an 8 person grill is a bit of a stretch.

I am a very picky decorator and I would prefer a real fireplace, but after hearing my hubby gripe about gas prices and only turning on my gas fireplace for special occasions, I looked for an inexpensive option, and this was perfect. Honestly, with a little doctoring it looks great. I already had a decorative screen and log rack, which really adds to the effect. I also added a small piece of wood across the lit window in the front so it did not look like a perfect rectangle of orange light, which also looks great. I read on another site that some people hid a mirror (or piece of foil) behind the flame to enhance the glow (I haven't tried that, but it might add to the glow effect). The turn on switch is in an odd place, so we plugged it into one of those add in plugs that can be turned on right at the plug or by remote, which is great. The "crackling" sound is a bit odd, but hardly noticeable really. If you play with the piece of metal by bending it, it almost sounds like a true crackle. Put it this way...it's A GREAT DEAL FOR THE MONEY (and you can have it on in any kind of weather)!!!!

This was surprisingly nice electric fire log. They use real wood in the construction, so it actually looks pretty good -maybe not so much when you take it out of the box and sit it on the table, but when it's in your fireplace it looks rather realistic. Turning it on only enhances that realistic appearance even more -it really does look like a glowing, crackling fire, and unless you point out that it's fake, most people would probably not give it a second glance . They'd just think you had a nice fire going. You can increase or decrease the "crackling" noise of the "fire" by bending the metal shield in the back in/out. I also enhanced the overall look by adding some more wood sticks to the front of it so it didn't look quite so perfect of a stack of wood.

Now, it's not without its faults. The first one I received started humming loudly shortly after I first used it. It rapidly got to the point of annoyance where it was simply unusable, so I sent it back for an exchange. The second one seems to be doing better, but I have noticed a bit of a motor hum sometimes. For this one I dampened the vibration/hum a little by putting a piece of foam pipe insulation under each "foot" where it touched the metal grate of my fireplace. I think this helps with the vibration by reducing it going into the medal grate, which is what I believe amplifies that hum.

I ended up installing mine on a wireless remote that also controls all my lights, so I'm able to sit in a chair, push a button, and start my fire. Not clap-on/clap-off, but pretty close! It's pretty nice for what it is. I don't see how any of these fake, non-heating fireplaces could be any better, even though some are hundreds of dollars more expensive. This one does the trick and for a relatively cheap price.

Edit: One more thing -don't waste your money on the high priced decorative grate that is specifically designed for this product. Just about any fireplace grate will do. I picked up one from a local hardware store for $12 that works perfectly.

I purchased a used electric fireplace that is old, very beautiful and just not made like this anymore. However because of a broken part the electric fire was not operable and I have been looking and pondering for almost one year what to do about the situation as I was not going to part with my beautiful electric fireplace with mantel. Wallah you had the answer and now I am in electric fireplace "LOG HEAVEN."

I did not need the heater as I have excellent heat in this independent living facility that I live in. My apartment is small and without a fireplace which is one thing that I will not do without even if I buy my own and carry it with me wherever I go. I did some extra decorative work to make it look more real and in a way you cannot tell that it is a fake. I think it might be able to fool a very young child at first sight and maybe fool the younger child a longer period of time.

These logs are at a price that the poor can afford and much, much lower in price than they could be. The video shows the electric logs as they actually are and so does the advertisement picture of them. These logs are a real blessing for me and I will pray for the inventor and maker of them as he or she is blessing people with these.

Well I received these logs in 2011 and every winter beginning in November it is turned on and stays turned on round the clock until March comes in. At Christmas it is awesome to look at and everyone that sees it like it very much.

One lady could not believe it had no heat and went directly up to it and put her hand directly on the fake fire. No heat at all. I am blessed, I am so blessed with these logs.

I loved this little crackling fire at first. It looked great in my vintage, acorn fireplace. However, after only two weeks the motor has gone. Now it is so annoyingly loud I can't even turn it on. It first started making excessive noise after only one week. I found by positioning it differently it became quiet again but only for a short time. I live in Ontario, so shipping it back to Amazon for an exchange will cost me at least $25. and I don't think that it's worth it. I will most likely have to find some place to have it fixed. So sad.

I have owned this coffeemaker for only one week, but am happy with it so far. About three years ago we broke a glass carafe and got a new HB brew station 47374, which was the predecessor to this model. It appears to be identical except for a bit more chrome coloring on this model. It had terrible reviews which were primarily due to coffee leaking and even possible fire hazard. We got one anyway because we were tired of having to pour and clean the fragile carafes and have been happy with it. We never had any problem other than small leaks that were due to coffee dripping down the side of the cup during dispensing. We also tried the more expensive 47454 model, but returned it because it leaked internally the first time we used it.

PROS:

1. One hand dispensing, (but sometimes need to steady unit from sliding).

2. No fragile carafes to clean or break.

3. Appears to brew better than our old Mr. Coffee.

CONS:

1. Visually awkward to see time setting due to low side location.

2. The last cup will sometimes leak during dispensing because of low head pressure. I resolve this problem by pouring the last cup manually from the fill bucket.

3. There will be water leaking down the back of the unit when the lid is lifted during or after brew. This is due to the steam condensation on the lid dripping down the back when raised.

4. This unit is noisy. The heating element which the base of the bucket sits on, makes a hissing type noise whenever it is active. This was not noticable on the older unit.

All in all I still like this coffee maker despite its shortcummings. It brews tasty coffee, is easy to use and easy to clean.

I just purchased this "BrewStation" from a local retailer after my old drip machine (with a glass carafe) died. I have to admit that I am a "coffee snob" and often use a French press (the preferred method by coffee enthusiasts) to brew my morning Joe. However, when I don't have time, I use a drip machine. With that being said, the BrewStation is a very simple and convenient coffee maker with plenty of upside:

The combo water filler/coffee "basket" has a handle and a pour spout that makes filling the unit a breeze. I really like not having a glass carafe sitting on a hot plate (which only burns the coffee and gives it a bitter taste); one less thing to wash. Also, the pour valve on the unit has a solid seal that doesn't leak (so far).

Now with the downside:

It has a spot for a water filtration cartridge, but you have to purchase the unit separately. Second, the space between the base of the machine and the pour spout is only big enough for a standard 6-8oz mug. I usually drink from a travel mug, so what I end up doing is moving the BrewStation to the edge of the counter and tilting my mug so it hits the button. Finally, the last two cups of coffee come out slowly. The machine is gravity fed, so you have to be patient with the last cup or so.

Overall, I think it is a very nice machine that will suit my needs just fine. Hopefully, it will work for you also.

Will replace after I send in a pic showing I've cut the cord off of it and the reciept and a $15 charge for shipping. What a mess. I explained that if I cut the cord off of it, I would probably just buy another coffee pot and not need a replacement. Couldn't offer a refund. The money back guarantee is a crock of crap. I love the concept of this product and purchased it 11/14/11. Two months later it up and died, (no power at all). Hamilton beach sent me a new one since it was under warranty as long as I mailed in the electrical plug and paid the $14 postage for the new model. I received the new model on 1/25/12 and on 2/26/12 the power started shutting itself off after brewing only 1-2 cups. I have to stand by and keep turning it on!!!!!

I contacted Hamilton Beach and they offered no apologies but offered to mail me another unit as long as I once again pay to mail in the plug and pay the postage for the new unit. I asked them point blank if this is a common problem with this product but never did get a response.

So if I accept their offer I am paying over $30 all-together with no guarantees...I don't think so!!!! I would rather change brands and worn you to beware of this product and their "so-called warranty".

I purchased one of these Airwolf 5-in-1 Air Systems last year and have yet to find a supplier for the filters needed for this machine, thinking that surely the manufacturer would sell the filters. I have been unable to contact the manufacturer because there is no phone number or website with info on where to buy the filters. I have been buying larger filters from a local hardware store and modifying/cutting them to fit this unit. Be sure you can find and buy the correct filters for this machine before you buy it, or you'll have to make your own filters.

I have had my AirWolf 5 in one unit for a few days now. And all in all it's a decent unit.

Heater

I will say that the heater is not as good as I would have liked it to be, but it does get the job done. One thing that would have made it better is a thermostat. And I have noticed a difference in the comfort level of my room when running the heater and humidifier together.

Air Purifier

The air purifier is actually one of the best features of this unit. The fact that you can run the purifier with all modes is a plus. However, you cannot use the Ionizer and the heater at the same time. And for anyone that has had/used an ionizer that is what makes the room smell so good. Kinda like just after a rain storm. And add to that a UV sanitizer, which kills viruses, bacteria and tiny little critters that the HEPA filter may have missed.

Fan

What can I say, it blows air. Nothing special here.

Humidifier

I like this feature , it uses evaporation technology. Which does seem to add humidity to the air but will not actually produce a stream of water. Which is a big plus. When water vapor goes into the air it tends to collect on surfaces and just makes things wet.

Cooler

It's not gotten hot yet, but in my experience this will probably work just fine. Put cold water in the tray and it should help cool the room. It's no A/C so don't expect to get freezing cold, but it should help take 10-20 degrees off the temp.

All in all its a decent unit. You could easily spend several hundred more dollars and get a separate unit for each function and they will do their job great. But for an all in one the price isn't bad and it does get the job done.

My only complaints are that is is a little loud and the the front of it looks like a Christmas tree and is fairly bright. Not the best when you have it in your bedroom. But putting a towel over the front takes care of that. And the remote still works. Which brings me to my last complaint. And it's not really a complaint, just an idea to improve on the design. The remote should at least be Illuminated, or not round. In the dark you can't tell which buttons you are pushing. If it wasn't round you could at least figure out where the buttons are by memory. And you cannot turn on/off the UV from the remote, Another bad design flaw. But not a deal breaker.

Like I said earlier, this machine is a Jack of all Trades , and Master of none.

THE DAY THAT I RECEIVED THIS 5IN 1 AIR SYSTEM, MY BEEDROOM TEMP WAS 91 degrees, so programed this junk on cold air for the max time[7hrs]. so I went to bed. four hrs. later I woke up in a pool of sweat and it was still 91 degrees in my bedroom. ok the next night the temp dropped 40 degrees [in Vermont] so I programed this piece of junk to heat,to the max of time again. now are you all ready for this???. after the unit kicked in ,it kicked off. I tried to get this unit to work 5 more times and it kicked of all 5 times. so than I said the hell with unit. the next day I called their 800 # and all I got was a busy signal and I called from 8am to 8pm for 3 days,same thing. also the web address they supplied does not exist. thank god for amazon,i called them and they took care of this matter with no problem. I must add bought this unit from amazon but was sold through northern tools and northern tool had no problem in me to return this junk' so I say save your money and do not buy.

The Toastmaster kettle has an attractive form, great safety features (like auto shut-off when the water boils or when it's dry), and boils quickly. We compared the amount of time needed to boil a liter of water between the two kettles, and the Toastmaster was boiling while the other one was still heating up! Other kettles cost twice as much or more, but you won't find a better value.

I bought this kettle because my sister had one and I was impressed how fast it would brew. I have used it for about a year and a half. Recently, I noticed a wet spot around the base and saw that the pot has a slow leak at the seam. My sister has encountered the same problem. They may have a 1 year warranty, but its useless if the leak occurs after that period. Its too bad, because I really liked this pot.

If you only use this kettle to decorate your counter and use it infrequently, it might provide years of so-called "service". Otherwise, expect the worst. I thought I loved this kettle. Large capacity, fast, auto shut-off. Used it at least once a day for more than a year. But then yesterday, there was water everywhere. As a mechanical engineer who enjoys repairing a wide variety of devices, I was quick to disassemble this appliance and attempt some magic. What a disappointment to discover that the upper white plastic jug is pressed and crimped onto the metal base. I was shocked at how easily the two halves separated. No way to correct the leak or securely reassemble.

I've never used an electric kettle before until now, and I chose this one because it held more water for serving more than 2 cups (or mugs) of tea at a time; I particularly liked this because I could keep it filled with guests coming in, and it heats almost instantly. For me this was one of the most rewarding purchases I have ever made. The price is right, the white color is great, and the entire product as a whole is exceptional value. It's lightweight, easy to clean, very attractive and sturdy at the same time, easy to lift and pour, sits perfectly on the base, and fits perfectly on my counter top! But the real joy was having my very first cup of tea from it. It boils in just under 2 minutes or less, depending on how full the kettle is. It has never spilled or dripped either just lift it and pour (not rushing the process) and you will find a very smooth flow with great ease. I would highly recommend this kettle to anyone looking to either have something convenient for guests (refills right away and boils in less time than the stove top), or just to switch off from using the stove every now and then, and relax with a one-push on/off switch that shuts off automatically when it's done. No more running for the whistle! I can't say enough good things about this kettle I would buy this again for myself and give it as a gift! You won't be disappointed! :)

This fireplace is fabulous! It arrived sooner than promised and in perfect condition. All I did was remove it from the carton and plug it in. It is a very solid, "real" fireplace. The fire is amazing. I stare at it and can't get over how realistic it is. The heat is optional which is great in Hawaii. The remote serves all my needs. It's so wonderful to enjoy a beautiful fire in the evenings!

I needed additional heating in my bedroom and this fit in the existing old fireplace perfectly! I was so excited because it looked so nice and couldn't wait to plug it in and get it going. Then, as we attempted to use the remote, or find control panels on this Yosemite model, we resorted to the instruction manual. The manual did not even match the heater. The remote described in the manual was not the remote with the unit. The control panel described in the manual was not on the heater, nor was there any control panel. Then I found white tape over a certain section of the manual. I held it up to the window to be able to read through it and it was the name of a company in China that made the heater and the directions to the street and building where it was manufactured. Someone had tried to hide that! There was an on/off button, that's all. We couldn't even get it to turn on! I feel like this was the same deal as the individual that bought a Coach purse at a "deal" online, and it was a fake made in China. Except this heater was expensive, and I believe I was sent a fake! I repackaged this heavy thing and I have asked Amazon to reimburse me.

I bought this recently and set it up right away. The high setting is loud for sensitive sleepers but if you need white noise to fall asleep the humidifier can double as a sleep machine. It puts out a nice cool mist on both high and low. PROS: It has a nice design -It is a solid performer -It is easy to fill CONS: The tank and the wick cover sometimes are easily disturbed -it is a little clunky -the grill on the fan cover disperses the mist mainly in one direction when it looks as if it would be omni-directional. FINAL THOUGHTS: I recommend it highly but wish the wick was cheaper to replace (around 5 bucks 2 times a year) but considering the other ones on the market it is still a good buy.

This is a good product. it has it's pro's and con's. First, it is loud when you use it on full blast. So, either deal with the noise or just turn it on early before bedtime on a medium speed so the room has time to "get humid". Secondly, it's annoying to have to take it apart everyday (which you have to do to prevent mold, but I believe it's something you have to do with all of these things... not just this one). On a high note, it seemed to help and I haven't had any problems with it mechanically. I'd purchase it again and recommend it to a friend.

PS: the noise is kind of a good thing for baby like white noise. I'm a light sleeper though and didn't like it I kept it on medium all the time.

We bought this unit at Babies R Us to combat dry winter indoor air. We were specifically looking into cool mist versus a vaporizer because vaporiers will add heat to the room along with moisture. We chose this unit because it uses evaporation to put the correct amount of moisture into the air instead of "spray" moisture into the air like other units. Filters last 3 months, although they appear dirty after a couple of uses we found out (after calling) that that is supposed to happen and it does not mean that they shouldn't be used. The tank is easy to fill and carry and the units fan adds that pleasant "white" noise that I actually found soothing. This unit is great if you want to take the guesswork out of using a humidifier. Will buy another for the living area.

I just bought this humidifier yesterday but I am very impressed with it already. My 5 month old has had a cough so bad it was making him throw up. Two nights ago (before the purchase) he had stayed awake almost the enitre night. Last night he slept great--9.5 hours with only waking up once. I turned the humidifier on the high speed which is loud, but this is a child who falls asleep to the vacuum cleaner. I have to say the room got cool but it sure helped a ton. Also it ran for 10 hours and still had water left, but we also have good water here in Memphis so I guess the length of time it runs has to do with the water condition. It was also very easy to open and fill with water. I love this product already.

I have had my filter for 1 year and use it only in the winter to counteract the dry heat. Last winter I ran through 3 filter for the season, and this winter it looks like I will do the same. I want to consider a second one for my upcomming baby, but I am trying to see it there are any other better on the filters. The filters are $8-9 a piece. They grow mold very quickly. They last 3 weeks to a month. It is very quiet, feels good, and works great on my sinuses. But keep your nose alert for the mold smell, and prepare your pockets for the filters.
