I had one of these heaters before and i lasted about 10 or 11 years. That is why I purchased the same type.
I would buy it againOk, where do I start? First this thing requires a 30 amp circuit. For you who don't know 30 amps is what a clothes dryer or a welder uses. High voltage! Which is fine but I doesn't put out that much heat! It heats a 2 foot x 2 foot area to about 80 degrees. So if it is right between your legs it works great. I had high hopes for this heater, especially because its made in America, but it was a big disappointment. I am trying to return it now. Hopefully all goes well there.

Consumer Reports, February 10, 2010:
Heating Claims Don't Add Up
Manufacturers of electric space heaters want you to believe that using one of their devices will lower your heating bill. Lowering your home's thermostat(s) and using your main heating system less in tandem with a space heater--called zone heating--will cut your utility bill. (Every degree you lower the thermostat(s) can save you about 2 percent on your heating bill.) But keep in mind that based on current national average prices and adjusting for the energy losses due to burning a fuel, heating with electricity is about two and a half times more expensive than heating with gas, the most common heating fuel in this country.
EdenPure suggests that "you can turn the heat down in your house as low as 50°F, yet the room you are in will be warm and comfortable. When you move to another room, the EdenPure goes with you. Its wheels make relocation a snap." That scenario assumes that you have to heat only a single room to heat at a time or that you own multiple EdenPure space heaters; that once you're in a room you stay put and don't move around the house; and that you're willing to keep the rest of your home at a chilly 50°F. Lowering the thermostat(s) by 3°F would likely result in minimal discomfort for you and your family, but are you willing to keep your home at 50°F?
The 1,483-watt EdenPure Gen 3 Model 1000 uses quartz infrared elements as the heat source. Its design essentially negates the radiant-heating effect, so it operates more like a typical fan-forced convection heater. While a fan can help mix the room air, there is typically some temperature variation, with cooler air near the floor and warmer air near the ceiling.
Humidity Information Seems All Wet
EdenPure says its heaters "protects the humidity level and air quality important to breathing comfort and personal health," and also notes that "Heat from the copper tubing rides the humidity in the room and provides moist, soft heat--ceiling-to-floor, wall-to-wall--without reducing oxygen or humidity."
Simply put, when you heat a room with any space heater and don't also have an additional source of humidity, say a humidifier, the total moisture in the air in that space will stays the same but the relative humidity will go down, not up. That's true for every space heater we've tested, including the EdenPure Gen 3 Model 1000.
...
In the end, remember that electric space heaters in and of themselves can't save you energy and lower your utility bills over the winter. To do that, you need to weatherize your home and lower your thermostat(s) so your heating system has to work less. But if you're going to buy a space heater, you don't have to shell out $400 or more for the EdenPure Gen 3 Model 1000.
But even great men have flaws. Paul Harvey had been quoted as saying, "I am fiercely loyal to those willing to put their money where my mouth is." And therein, lies a conflict of interest.
Now, I have no way of knowing whether or not Mr. Harvey knowingly endorsed fraudulent products but it is utterly indisputable that he did endorse the main product of Suarez Corporation Industries.
You undoubtedly have never heard of SCI but if you were a regular or even semi-regular listener of Paul Harvey you would have heard him endorse the miraculous EdenPURE heater with its revolutionary "cured copper" heat exchanger.
SCI is a prime supplier to the multi-level marketing community. Some of the companies that make up SCI are:
Biotech Research
International Home Shopping
Lindenwold Fine Jewelers
U.S. Commemorative Gallery
Biotech Medical, LLC
Resource Partners
This list is a smorgasbord of overpriced, yet intensely crappy products. (Oh sure, they sell the Tempur-Pedic line of closed cell foam mattresses which are merely overpriced...you can pick up the exact same thing at Walmart for a fraction of their cost.) This company is a virtual feeding frenzy for multi-level marketing scammers.
But I am only going to focus on their most prominent scam product: The EdenPURE heater.
The EdenPURE heater is the most expensive 115-volt electric space heater money can buy, bar none, and it is marketed with, at best, half-truths and, at worst, blatant lies.
Compounding the problem is literally hundreds (if not thousands) of independent distributors, many of them not authorized resellers.
So lets get into the meat of the issue. Just what does SCI, through its Biotech Research subsidiary, claim that the EdenPURE can do? Here are some select pickings from their FAQ page:
Q. What is the EdenPURE Heater Quartz Infrared Heating System?
A. Our Heating System is a revolutionary zone furnace that safely and efficiently heats entire areas that need additional heat.
Translation: It's a portable electric space heater.
Q. How do the EdenPURE Quartz Infrared Portable Heaters Work?
A. With the advent of micro-electronic technology and the latest in infrared commercial quartz tubes, three solar copper furnaces inside the unit absorb the heat from these tubes much like a sponge absorbs water. The patent pending process of cured natural copper creates an innovative heat exchanger capable of absorbing heat like a solar sponge. It then safely exhales what is coined as "soft" environmentally friendly heat that is able to travel rapidly in relative humidity. The EdenPURE SOFT heat does not burn up the humidity; moreover, it employs the humidity as a vehicle to warm up large spaces quickly and efficiently.
EdenPURE heater has perfectly regulated heat that will not destroy life/energy that other dangerous portable heating devices destroy, but helps to maintain healthy humidity levels indoors.
Other heaters cause occupants to lose energy and force them to breathe dry uncomfortable air. The EdenPURE heater replicates the earth's sun process by electronically exhaling comfortable cost cutting heat without burning up your family's life sustaining oxygen in your indoor living space. The benefits of this natural solar process are revolutionizing the way we will heat our homes and help save large amounts of costly energy.
Translation: Let the BS begin. Taking it item-by-item:
Micro-electronic technology. Translation: It has a digital thermostat.

-Does not burn up humidity. Translation: Utter nonsense, heaters don't dehumidify.
-Will not destroy life/energy. Translation: Utter nonsense for the mentally challenged.
-Helps to maintain healthy humidity levels. Translation: Utter nonsense, totally impossible.
-Other heaters cause occupants to lose energy. Translation: We think you are stupid.
-Replicates the earth's sun process. Translation: We think you are really, really stupid.

-Without burning...oxygen. Translation: Just in case you are an absolute idiot we are tossing this one in out of sheer spite.
-Helps save large amounts of costly energy: Translation: Compared to what? Plutonium?
Now back to the FAQ's...
Q. What makes the EdenPURE Heater "Healthier" than other heaters?
A. For one... the EdenPURE heater does not produce positive ions like other blower (dryer) type heaters.
EdenPURE heater has perfectly regulated heat that will not destroy life/energy that other dangerous portable heating devices destroy, but helps to maintain healthy humidity levels indoors.
Since the early 1950s scientists have suspected that ions play an important role in how the body functions and, consequently, in how we feel. Research has shown that an abundance of negative ions in the air we breathe is highly beneficial.
Conversely, scientists have found that if the air is charged with too few negative ions and too many positives, we become anxious, fatigued and tense. Positive ion poisoning has, in fact, been linked to heart attacks, aggravated asthma, migraine headaches, insomnia, rheumatism, arthritis, hay fever, and most allergies.
Translation: Wow. This is industrial strength BS at its finest. To me, this is holistic, pseudo-science mumbo jumbo that is ridiculous and claiming that other heaters produce positive ions is utter rubbish thrown out there for the slow-witted.
Q. How does the comfort of the EdenPURE Heater System compare to other systems?
A. The EdenPURE Heater System is a state of the art system that provides the most comfortable form of heat. Unlike traditional systems, which may leave a differential of up to 18 degrees from floor to ceiling, the EdenPURE Heater System heated air, using infrared absorption, does not concentrate near the ceiling. Heat stays down and evenly dispersed in the area where you and your family live.
Temperature difference from floor to ceiling is minimal. In addition, the EdenPURE Heater System does not remove humidity from the air. It actually helps maintain humidity levels. The even heating and higher humidity permit lower heat settings with more comfort, less condensation on windows and less static electricity. Furthermore, the EdenPURE Heater System does not use flame, fuel or any form of combustion. Therefore, the heat from the EdenPURE Heater is safe and clean free of any other type of pollution and does not use up the oxygen in the air.
Translation: Okay, well this is more crap served up with a very large spoon...maybe even with a funnel and a hose.
The EdenPURE is, despite claims to the contrary, a forced air electric space heater. There is nothing magical about what it does. Room temperature air comes in one end and higher temperature air comes out the other end. That's it.
Warm air rises due to a property in air called "convection." To minimize the natural process of convection the air in a room may be circulated. Ceiling fans do this quite nicely.
There is no heater made that removes humidity from air. It is a physical impossibility. Period. To remove humidity from air one must lower the air temperature below its dew point. This is called condensation. Think of the "sweat" that occurs on a glass of ice water. If water condenses on the inside of your windows it is because there is a source of excess humidity in the house...someone left the shower running...and the glass is below the dew point. The EdenPURE heater is totally incapable of maintaining ANY level of humidity. Winter air is dry. Go to NOAA and look it up.
Any properly installed heating system will not use up the oxygen of the occupied space. Again, nothing magical here.
Q. Economically, how does the EdenPURE Heater System compare to other systems?
A. The EdenPURE Heater System is the most economical way to heat. In Midwestern Utility field tests for heating seasons, the EdenPURE Heater used an average of 35% less energy than conventional electric furnace/baseboard systems. Comparable results were found during comparisons with fuel based heating systems. Individual results, of course, depend on insulation values, local climate, and other conditions.
Translation: This is a pure lie. The most economical way to heat using electricity is with a heat pump. So, yeah, individual results depend on "other conditions." These (along with that old favorite, "individual results may vary") are what are called "weasel words."
Q. How much area does a EdenPURE Heater System Heat?
A. The EdenPURE GEN3 Model 1000 Heater is a 1483 watt Heating System, is an excellent source of primary heat for up to 400 square feet and a superb source of secondary heat for up to 1000 square feet of well insulated space. The EdenPURE GEN3 Model 500 Heater 900 watt Heating System, is an excellent source of primary heat for up to 200 square feet and a superb source of secondary heat for up to 300 square feet of well insulated space.
Translation: More nonsense. Heat loss for any given room in a house depends on a host of variables: Outside wall area, floor area, ceiling area, window area, door area and local climate conditions to name but a few. Matching a heating appliance without taking heat loss into account is incompetent.
Q. Why does the EdenPURE Heater System cost more than a space heater?
It is a furnace in every respect. A space heater only has the capacity to heat a small space (i.e. under a desk). The EdenPURE Heater System, like a central heating system, will heat an entire area evenly and efficiently. This allows the unit to be a supplemental source of heat. Furthermore, the EdenPURE Heater System is safe. It will not start a fire or burn if you touch it. Because of the reduced energy consumption, and the unit's high level of safety and comfort, EdenPURE Heater System users agree that it is the best value available.
Translation: The EdenPURE is a space heater in every respect. It isn't a furnace. A furnace is designed to heat an entire home. The EdenPURE is not. Properly installed and maintained furnaces are safe, too. Duh. Too many EdenPURE owners are way too embarrassed by what they paid for it to say anything other than what a great value it is.
Q. Why is the EdenPURE Heater System safe?
A. The EdenPURE Heater System has no flame or fumes. Its safe, clean infrared heating elements provide the energy. Extensive testing at CUL (Canada) and UL (United States) has verified the safety of the EdenPURE Heater System. Due to its safe operating temperature, the EdenPURE Heater may be placed next to flammable materials with minimal safety clearance needed.
Translation: All appliances sold in the USA, including space heaters and furnaces, are listed with Underwriters Laboratories. Big Deal.
Q. What kind of Satisfaction Guarantee does it have?
A. We have a 60 day Satisfaction Guarantee. Our Return Policy: You can return or exchange any purchase within 60 days for any reason. NOTE: Items must be returned in the same box & packaging received by you with everything that was included in the original shipment.
Translation: Wow. Sixty days. So, when you discover that it doesn't save you a dime you are totally screwed. Nice policy.
The hundreds of other scam artists that peddle this device go even further with the "cured copper" BS by creating their own little urban legend about its "discovery." Here is the story that they peddle:
"'This advanced heating element was discovered accidentally by a man named John Jones. He had a large old farmhouse that was impossible to heat. Jones had a coal furnace in his basement. Jones placed a sheet of cured copper near the furnace to store it. Cured copper is a type of copper that goes through an extensive heating process to give it special properties. ''After the fire went out in the coal furnace, Jones noticed that the sheet of copper was heating his entire basement evenly, even though the furnace was no longer putting out heat. He also was amazed as to how long the heat stayed in the copper and continued to warm the room. ''Jones was so taken back by this that he started to experiment. He formed a company to develop a heating source out of this cured copper. But Jones had a number of children and he did not want a heating source that would cause a fire or create other hazardous situations like creating carbon monoxide or radiation. He also did not want his children to get burned. To make a long story short, through a great deal of research and development, Jones developed a heating source that utilized commercial infrared quartz tubes. John Jones designed his heating source around the three most important consumer benefits: economy, comfort, and safety. The final development of this infrared quartz heat source cannot be matched by any other heating system in the world."
Translation: Pure and utter BS from start to finish. There is no such thing as "cured copper." It has no "special properties" other than to separate you from several hundred bucks. Take a little stroll over to copper.o r g and try your hardest to find a reference to it. It does not exist except in the minds of simpletons.
The final nail in this smelly little coffin comes from Consumer Reports:
"The unit was the second-lowest-scoring space heater we tested, earning only a 24 on our 100-point scale. According to the folks in our Tech department who tested space heaters, the EdenPure provided lackluster temperature control and was not particularly easy to use, What's more, it was pricey and lacked an overheat-protection feature (key for safety). The GEN3 models do have this important safety feature, according to BioTech Research."
Bottom Line:
If you insist on spending up to $400 for an electric space heater that's your business. But you can get the exact same result for around $30 at your local hardware store. 1500 watts of heat is 1500 watts of heat regardless of how it's packaged and how much it costs.
And don't ever buy anything that multi-level (or network) marketers are selling, especially their "system."
My evaluation and use of this was done after spending almost $2000.00 the past winter in OIL!
On a cold month, I used very little or no oil and used the two GEN heaters almost exclusively. Yes, the electric bill shot up and I estimated it cost somewhere around $150 to $200 for the month. However, compared to a $400 to $600 oil bill, kind of a no brainer.
FYI the two heaters were used in a 3 bedroom brick ranch home. One in the living room the other in a bedroom with the heater facing the hallway.
Perhaps the reviewer is correct in pointing out the fairy dust and unicorn farts (that review is a hoot for sure) regarding certain of the hype and claims made by the sellers. Perhaps one might find other space heaters for less money with nearly identical output. I personally think space heaters such as these are worth while in certain situations.
The down side is I think they should run quieter. The air flow makes a high pitched whistle when operating which I find very annoying.
Expect an increase in electric cost, no question about it, but compare to your other heating cost. Then make the decision accordingly.
The biggest complaint I have is they pry on the older generation. My dad is 83 and have some cogntive problems and every time they send him some information, he orders something. I am sure by now, he must owe a part of EdenPure just by buying 3 heaters, one air purifier and a humidifier. He has spent thousands of dollars with them and most of the heaters sit on his basement shelf or worst off he thinks he is saving on electricity. He gave me one for a gift several years ago, and my electric bill went up so high, that I started reading information on their website. OMG!
I really don't know what to do, but I can tell you, once you buy one of these products, you are on their mailing lists FOREVER.
EdenPure are very bad people, unethical to sell something that really doesn't work well and definitely the prices are outrageous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This Eden Pure unit certainly does its job of heating a room, but not before your electric bill goes up exponentially. I started using this unit on the first day of my last months' billing cycle, and when I got my bill 30 days later, it jumped 103% over the past month. Simply put, this unit is a guzzler. I immediately unplugged it, and started making preparations to return it to the manufacturer. The advertisement for this product says that they're making improvements to this years' model. Well, they need to work on efficiency--not just the amount of heat that it can generate. Sorry folks, but this unit is a liability. 1/10 P.S. This unit's use has also activated the smoke detectors in my house.Honest reviews on Eden Pure Gen 4 Infrared Heater
I just loved the very detailed review that was funny. While there are many aspects of his commentary that may be accurate you cannot assume everything is correct. I will offer this personal experience with the GEN heaters. I own two, 1000 Gen 3 units.

EdenPure products are a total rip off. As one reviewer said, in order to save energy, one has to turn off the home heating system and just use the space heater. That is not explained very well in their marekting materials.

We love the heat and look of the realistic flame . Infrared heat is warmer and cheaper than any other we have used. The flame can be dimmed, the heater is safe for kids and pets.
We actually removed the heater from the mantle and inserted it in a piece of built in birch furniture and tiled a travertine /glass mosaic tile around it.

Cheap New - Bionaire Electric Fireplace by Jarden Home Environment
As I recall, someone else mentioned the sound effects not being too good. No, doesn't really sound like a crackling fire to me, but you can mute it. I am happy with my purchase temp control, ambiance control (brightness of flame image), and it works...also doesn't get hot anywhere on the unit, other than the air coming out the front vents. The fan is a bit loud, but I don't mind. My Dad and Step-mom have one like this, so I already knew I'd like it. I looked around, but ended up with one just like theirs. Good for the price!

Cheap Soleus Air HP1-15-50 Reflective Indoor/Outdoor Patio Heater
propane puts out 10x the heat. You have to stand right under it to feel a difference.
Pros: Reasonably priced out door light, doesn't use a lot of energy
Cons: Barely gives off any heat at full blast
Instead of burining propane, this electrical outdoor heater that looks like a propane heater saves money, saves the enviroment, saves a headache of running out of propane and having to run to the store, and keeps you outside longer.
Also fits in my unbrella hole so you get 360 degrees of heat. Not as powerful as a propane heater, which I often find to be too powerful,
but perfect for the 45-60 degree night to sit on the deck.Soleus Air HP1-15-50 Reflective Indoor/Outdoor Patio Heater

I'm 5'3 and when this is on full blast (both rings are turned on) I can barely feel anything. My husband who is 6'0 can feel the heat but only when he is standing right under it. All in all don't get this if you actually want it to keep you warm like a propane heater. The ups are that we dont have an outdoor light and this fell into the same price range as an outdoor lamp (actually cheaper). Its not super bright but gives off a nice glow so we can see (similar to candle light) outside at night and not be in the dark. It also doesn't need to be filled like a gas patio heater and it won't violate some fire codes (NYC you can't have any gas grills, heaters etc) but it certainly won't ease the cold.Pros: Reasonably priced out door light, doesn't use a lot of energy
Cons: Barely gives off any heat at full blast

Buy Holmes HFH-5656-U Power Heater Fan
Got this to use in my office during the winter. The 1 touch button is completely annoying because you have to push it repeatedly to get what you want. And the thermostat settings do not work at all and the heater remains off when in the thermostat settings. This is frustrating because even the LO setting is to warm so I want it to just detect when to turn on and off automatically rather than me wasting time and constantly turning it on and off automatically. I am going to return this product ASAP and get a space heater with dual knobs.
Positives:
+ Reasonably priced
+ Can keep a bedroom plenty hot
+ The exhaust grill stays cool. I feel safe with it around my 3 year old, and felt safe with it around him when he was 2 (even let him play with it)
Negatives:
The one-button interface is a bit irritating. You need to push it a bunch of times to hit the temperature you need.
The thermostat is not very accurate, it's probably off by as much as ten degrees. I keep it on "80", when I really want 70. Sometimes when I want it hotter, I put it on "High", but that means that it stays on and never shuts off, and I end up overheated. I wish it had a setting for "90", so that I could get it to heat the room to 75.
I will probably buy a second unit, and would not feel bad recommending this to someone else. I bought several other space heaters that were more expensive, cheaper, more feature rich, etc., and ended up returning them in frustration because they all shared the common problem of burning whoever touched the grill. Having gone through so many others looking for a replacement, I have a greater appreciation for this little guy.

I bought this one a long time ago. Maybe there are better heaters out there but this one does the job, and it does not get so hot that you end up burning yourself when you touch it, yet it heats a small room fine. Here are the pluses and minuses:Positives:

Review of Lifesmart LS-4W1500X Wood Infrared Heater
I have already owned a similar one for a year now and am very pleased
I have no Idea why others complain that it doesn't heat the 1500 sq. ft .I does, they must have missed the part that says its not to be used alone as the sole heat source.
I use this heater in my bed room and parrot room, and haven't had any issues with loss of humidity
the washable filter and remote is a bonus
But here are things not mentioned in the blurb about the unit, but are mentioned in the owners' manual. When deciding where to put it, the area in front of and behind the unit must be clear of any other items for several feet. So no putting it with its back to a wall. But the larger issue is that this unit needs its own circuit. Not just its own electrical outlet, but a circuit all its own. It draws too much power so it would trip the circuit breaker if other things are running on the same circuit. Pretty impractical, in my opinion. Naturally you'd want this unit in a room you're using, and presumably using other electrical appliances that are on the same circuit. (Most electrical circuits are 15 amps. When this unit is running at full power it would be drawing most of those amps.)
Despite this, I managed. I bought the unit to heat the den and adjoining kitchen, a total of about 700 sq. feet. Fortunately I have a small office off the den (about 150 sq. feet), so I have the unit plugged in there and facing into the den. The office has its own circuit so the heater draws its power from there. I'm just not able to use any major electrical items in the office, but I worked around that.
Another thing: the owners' manual says you can't use an extention cord with this unit. Yet its power cord is less than 6 feet. Another impracticality when deciding where to put the heater and yet have it somewhere it can evenly distribute heat. Like I said, my unit faces into the den, but I'm also trying to heat the kitchen with it too. The den gets nice and warm but the kitchen is noticeably cooler. In essence, uneven heating (which I guess isn't surprising).
I waited to write this review until I received the electric and oil bills. The electric bill went up by $75 for the month I was using this unit. (I have our house heat set at 62 and use this unit to bring it up to 68 degrees.) But the oil bill, which is usually about $450 a month, went down by about $200. So I am realizing some savings there. Of course there are lots of variances in what cost savings can be realized, like the square footage of the area you're heating, what your thermostat is set at, the insulation of your house, how often you run the unit, etc.
If I had to decide whether to recommend this unit then I'd probably not advise it. If I had to do it all over again I think I'd put my money towards a wood stove.
One of our bedrooms is too far from the central air handler and never seems to get as warm as the other rooms. We placed this heater in the room for use at night. I use the low setting (750W) and set the thermostat to 75 works great and stays cool to the touch. The timer function is also nice so you don't have to remember to turn it off in the morning. It is a bit louder than I expected but it doesn't bother me. After a couple days of use, It stops making the horrible smell when you turn it on.
I'll update the review if anything changes.

I wish I had read more reviews before I purchased this brand of infrared heater. Like so many other customers, I bought the unit in November and it stopped working in January. It was effective when it did work, although mine never did register the ambient temperature. I do not think it is coincidence that the Owner's Manual had nothing to say about the error code, "E1". That is what the display will show when the unit's heating system wears out. The manufacturer of this heater may bring in a lot of customers with its promises of lowering bills, but it won't keep customers with these durability problems. It seems that LifeSmart must have programmed a short life into its infrared heaters, which does ensure that the customer will purchase a second unit, but doesn't build loyalty. If you buy this heater, you will be happy with it for about 90 days. Just consider it to be disposable and you won't be disappointed.Honest reviews on Lifesmart LS-4W1500X Wood Infrared Heater

Discount Intercity Furnace Flue Exhaust Venter Blower - 1014433, 1014529
I bought this motor as a replacement for my old one that had started whining whenever it ran. After some internet research I found that this is due to some interior ball bearings going bad (unfortunately you can't repair these). The new one came in just three days and I got it installed in less than 10 minutes. Connect the two wires, a vacuum tube, attach the provided washer, and then just use the four screws that come with it and you are all set.
But I put it in anyway.
It works good.
Just as good as the original one.

I actually bought this replacement in the spring but didn't get it installed until a couple of days ago. Old induction motor was squealing and wouldn't make it much longer. I ordered this one considerably cheaper than anywhere else I looked. The squealer managed to make it until it was warm enough that I didn't need the furnace. I installed the new one the other day, less than an hour. I figure if I would have had to call someone to do it, it would have been around a $400.00 to $500.00 dollar bill. If you can use a screwdriver, you can change this yourself fairly easily and save big money. Sounds like new again.Best Deals on Intercity Furnace Flue Exhaust Venter Blower - 1014433, 1014529

just like other reviews said, this was easy to install. The guy who installed my furnace said that he couldn't sell me one as cheap as this. Just be careful not to let the screws get away from you. One did on me, luckily I had a magnet on an articulating handle so I could fish around under the burner and retrieve it. Both bathrooms use Broan (same as Nutone) overhead light/fan/heater assemblies and a triple switch. The heater is either on full blast or completely off, as designed. Adding this line-voltage thermostat improves the temperature control considerably. Most line-voltage thermostats I found work on 240 volts; this one works on 120 volts as well. Unusually, it has a pull-on, push-off switch as part of the temperature control knob. It happens that I already have a switch, but if you're replacing a heater switch, this device will serve both on/off switch and temperature control functions. It comes with both Fahrenheit and Celsius (if you're one of those misguided people) marking rings. It's quite accurate and doesn't generate radio noise. Interrupts only the hot lead; no neutral or ground wires are required. Fits in a single box, sticking out less than 1/2 inch. The color is closest to light almond neither white nor ivory. I just ordered another one for the second bathroom.

Added a new sunroom to my house 12x28 with 10 ft ceilings. I installed the unit all my self. The 13 ft lines that come with the unit are just perfect in length. I installed the copper lines in the wall before they were sealed up so they would not be running down the outside of the wall so ugly. I found the directions to be pretty good that came with the unit. I did have the lines vaccumed down before I turned it on and opened the valves. The HVAC guy that came and did that for me charged 79.00. I called the HVAC company that I use for my regular house units and told them I needeed them to come check out one of my units. That I thought one might need a checkup. In a checkup they would come out and check the freeon, filter, etc and that sort so it was just fine to check this Pioneer unit for the checkup.
I will say take your time and plan it out slowly before you install.
I am very pleased with this unit.

Has been installed about a month now and nothing but problems so far. may have to return if problems continue. when it is working it is fine. but the problem is it not working properly for long periods of time. installer is still trying to get it to work properly. will with hold final review until we see if unit has to be returned.Best Deals on Pioneer Ductless Mini Split Air Conditioner, Heat Pump, 24000 BTU
It was pretty easy to put up its heavy so it takes at least two people to hang the inside and the outside unit. So far so good. I really hope it works good.
