This filter fits a Holmes humidifier that is no longer made. The device still works perfectly, but finding these filters is increasingly difficult. Yep. I'm a fan.

These filters came within a few days. I'd shopped around and these were some of the most reasonably priced I found. They work fine as far as I can tell and my humidifier is making life during the dry Nebraska winter much better.

While the item shown and the description says it is a Holmes filter, what was shipped was a clone filter. It can work only if you pull the mounting clip of an old filter. While I suspect the filter will work, the vendor was certainly misleading in their description.

These wicks for my humidifier worked well, although it was annoying to replace tham every month. The humidifier broke, so I don't need these any longer.

For less than 1/2 price, you get the same timer but with only one set of contacts. The cost of the second set of contacts is minuscule. I guess they got you if you need to wire a 220v switch. The cover plate is plastic, not brushed metal, and is held in place with a center nut over the timer shaft (same design as the single pole timer). Nothing to keep the cover from rotating, opening the box. Definitely not the best design, and a ridiculous price. But on the positive side, the timer does work.

This heater is well made and it keeps a room warm. I have a 12X20 room and it is always nice and toasty in here. i recommend this product highly. But there is one down side witch is not a big deal but when ever you touch a button on the remote or on the face of the heater, it makes a loud PEEP. But other wise this heater is perfect.

I purchased this heater to provide heat to a room that my daughter receives therapy in. Because she receives phototherapy, as much skin as possible has to be exposed and it is important that the room is warm. Unfortunately, after having the heater professionally installed and with a direct line to prevent any overloads, it will not heat the room. It turns on, but I believe the heating element is near the thermostat so the temperature showing spikes into the 90's and then the unit shuts off. I emailed the seller and got no response. I spent a great deal of money on something that does not work.

Ordered wall heater, was installed, and instantly had a problem, the fan would not shut off. Contacted seller several times and received no action or attempt to resolve issue. Emailed, called and promises made but got no actual action in resolving issue. Contacted manufacturer and they instantly promised to send part needed to repair. Would never purchase from Air and Water again, all talk no action, but would buy another product from same manufacturer as they instantly made things right.

I bought this switch to time a low voltage system that turns on and off my gas fireplace. I can now turn on the fireplace and go to bed knowing it will time off. The switch was easy to program and install. So far it has worked flawlessly. I do not find the mechanical click it makes when going on and off, all that loud or offensive. I cannot comment on battery life yet. Would definitely buy again.

We loved this thing, until it stopped working. We are hoping for an easy exchange and that the next one lasts at least a year . We will keep you posted.

Follow up. The second one lasted almost 6 months.

Better, but we were hoping for longer.

This is a BATTERY operated product although you could never figure this out from Intermatics irresponsibly incomplete product specifications. It requires a CR2 3Volt Lithium battery which you will have to replace after (in my case less than 1 year). The battery operates the loud mechanical relay in the switch so the more time the switch is ON the faster the battery will be depleted. I my area (Boston) this $5 battery is not a stocked item at either CVS or Radio Shack. The Intermatic product info leaves you with the impression that the battery might last up to 3 yrs but neglects to say this would be only if the switch was not actuated much. So if you your idea of a wall switch is something that needs at least yearly maintenance with a difficult to find expensive battery, then this is the product for you.

As if this was not bad enough, the product turns on or off only after a 1 second delay and with a disconcertingly load relay click that sounds like you have just turned on industrial machinery. If the sound does not irritate your wife then the delay probably will.

Worst of all is when the battery runs out the switch does not operate and you can't turn on the lights until you replace it.

I bought this to replace an old pool timer that was over 20 years old. With all wires in place, this took about 30 minutes to install after the plugs were removed, and worked instantly at power up. I hope that the plastic casing lasts years. Only problem is the 1 set of pins (on/off). I run my pool twice a day and had to use old pins from the last timer.

I recently built a master bathroom addition out over a lower roof. I live in the northeast, right by the water. It is a very windy area, and in the winter it blows down hard and cold from the NE & NW. My builder installed this product on the exterior soffit as part of the bath exhaust system. It is probably 25' up to the soffit. The two side damper flaps do not stay shut in windy conditions (I could clearly see the flaps opening and closing from looking at it through our bedroom window). This is due to the fact that this vent protrudes down from the soffit 3 4", and catches the wind. Not only did we have cold air pouring into our new bathroom through the interior bath fan, but the damper on the interior fan was flapping like crazy due to the wind rushing in, causing a racket we could hear with the door closed. We ended up installing a flush mount vent with damper, that works perfectly.

Bottom line is that the side damper flaps do not stay closed in moderate to heavy winds. If you live in a cold windy area, do not buy this product.

One of these came with my house and I'm getting rid of it as soon as I can. While this vent cover can't be buried in snow, (I'm in Ohio) it does little more than keep birds and squirrels out of the bathroom fan exhaust duct.

It won't keep insects out since it has no screen. I had to clean out some old (and empty) wasp nests inside it. The previous homeowner placed a piece of fiberglass screen over the end of the vent duct where it exited the soffit. It was fastened to the plywood soffit by staples and the edges were sealed with caulking. The vent cover was fastened over this screen. This arrangement is ok until the screen clogs with dust, which mine had.

As Chaz points out in "Functional, but exacting install" this vent cover requires careful installation, otherwise the flaps will stick. The vent duct is attached to the soffit with two plastic L-brackets. Each L-bracket is attached to the soffit by one screw and then to the duct by another screw. Not very sturdy.

I cleaned everything up, caulked the gap between the duct and the soffit, installed a new piece of aluminum screen and reinstalled this engineering nightmare. Not my preference, but it'll take care of things until I replace my roof in the next few months and then I'll switch to a through-the-roof vent.

If you're stuck with using the soffit for an exhaust vent, which is not much better than venting directly into the attic, find a better vent cap. Find one that allows you to clamp the duct securely to the vent cap and then screw the vent cap to the soffit. Something like the Lambro 143W Under Eave Vent, 4". At least with this vent cap you can point the exhaust away from your house.

Were adding attic insulation, so had to quickly add 4 fan vents, and chose this model. It has double flapper vents which work ok, and if installed correctly seems to work fine.

There are several things which make this vent a bit trickier to install. First, there is no outlet tube on the back to attach the vent hose to. Instead, the hose exits a hole under the eaves, and this vent simply covers the hole and the bare end of the hose. However, the problem arises if this vent isn't installed EXACTLY centered over the hose, causing the hinge side of the flappers to bind with the hose, and not open or close correctly. Second, there are clamps which are supposed to be used to hold the hose in the hole, but they are somewhat useless, and cause more of the problems with the flaps binding. After trying the clamps on the first vent, I gave up on them and went to simply running a couple screws through the hose and into the plywood. Third, although these vents worked well on plywood soffit, care needs to be taken on aluminum soffit. When mounting to the aluminum, the screws caused the soffit to bow ever so slightly, again causing the flaps to bind. A simple push of a screwdriver to bow the soffit away from the hinge to eliminate contact solved that problem.

Once installed correctly, these vents look nice, and seem to function well. They vent on both sides, so there are 2 flaps to bind, which may be a negative, though may also let more air through. I've installed these on 110 CFM bathroom fans, and the flaps open just over 1/3 of the way when the fans are on. I used 4 inch ducthad 3 inch been used, the hose would have had better clearance to the flaps, but 4 inch seems to be standard. If I were to do the job again, I would look for a vent that has the flange out the back to attach the hose, as that would simplify installation, and prevent flap binding.

Didn't like it much but the price was ok. Ended up not using it at all, but maybe it was me not picking up properly.

Perfect purchase for me. Size descriptions are not exact. When screen is standing properly and balanced, the measurement of the rear width is 30" 30 1/2". Bought this little screen to insert into the brick frame, in front of the metal firebox insert, to keep my wild dog from slamming into the fireplace and toys out.

Pros--

*Light weight, easy to move around yet sturdy enough to keep my big dog out.

*Compact. For off season use, unfold completely. It stays flush with the firebox and looks like it belongs. Unobtrusive.

*Plain. I could see the my natural gas vented logs and glowing embers.

*You can face it the opposite way to make it wider, if you don't mind that it looks backwards.

*Versatile use: I just bought a space heater and used this little screen in front of it to keep dog safe.

Cons--

*I bought this used from Amazon Marketplace seller who advertised, "Like new, just opened box." It came with the mesh slightly dented. For $32, it was worth it.

*Measurements are imprecise because the balance will be off if not standing properly. 20 1/2" side panels are shorter than middle.

This screen looks better in person than it does in the picture. From the picture I was afraid it looked a bit grayish but it is definitely coal-black. It seems very sturdy and I love that it folds up flat so you can easily hide it away when you don't need it. The front of our old wood burning stove is shorter than most fireplaces so it was hard to find a screen that was the right size most of them were way too tall. This one is perfect!

I bought this range about 6 months ago,we use it everyday this little thing can get pretty hot,we use it to cook deer meat most of the time,I like the part that you can actually take it apart and clean it easy, and its made out of stainless steal,my only complane is the adjusting nob you have to get use to it,I mean controling the temperature takes a little time to get use too..

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I read the reviews of all of the other single burners and this one had only two reviews at the time I made the decision to purchase. The reviewer who said they used it for 6 months to cook deer meat is the one that convinced me. I just received this today and decided to cook sloppy joes out on my patio. Unfortunately, I only had a pound of frozen ground beef, so I put it in a skillet on top of the Toastess burner (set to the highest setting) and waited to see what would happen. Surprisingly enough, the Toastess began browning the frozen ground beef almost immediately. It was cooking as well as, if not better than, my regular stovetop.

It didn't take long at all for the frozen ground beef to cook enough for me to break it up with my spatula. As I continued to cook it on the highest level and added water to the ground beef, I was pleasantly surprised at how well the Toastess was able to maintain it's cooking temperature.

Once the beef finished cooking and I added all of my ingredients, I changed the temperature setting from MAX to #2 (there are 6 settings 1 through 5 plus MAX) to let the beef simmer and the Toastess handled simmering very well too.

I can't rave enough about this product. The stainless steel finish looks great and it cooks as well as it looks. I wish I could give it a rating higher than 5 stars because it amazes me that a product this inexpensive performs so well.

Very happy with my purchase!

Best Deals on Toastess THP-517 Electric Single-Coil Cooking Range, Stainless Steel

I've had this for four months and it still works great, after using a few times a week. I got it when there were only two reviews, both positive, and all the other burners had enough bad reviews to not recommend them.

It doesn't have as much power as a real electric stove burner, but it's actually pretty close and cooks a whole box of dried pasta, no problem; meaning it brings that much water to a boil in a comparable enough amount of time that it doesn't seem like you're waiting around forever. The thing only weighs about two pounds but it's pretty serious.

Temperature wise the burner is either on or off: it comes on full power for a while then goes off for a while, regulated by either a temp. sensor or a timer. Halfway between "1" and "Off" is about right for simmering, though you can still burn something below "1" if you don't watch it; much higher than "2" and it's constant on up through "5" and "Max". When it does come on, you can hear it make a tick and the green light is lit, so you don't have to guess. The instructions say not to have it on without a pot on it, I would guess to avoid overheating/damaging the coil. The coil is about the size of a small range top burner, but with less surface area/coil loops, as the photo shows. A very large 12 quart pot or a big frying pan is stable sitting on it as well.

The photo looks like the top may be brushed stainless steel, which it does turn out to be. So you don't have to worry about melting the plastic top with a wide pan, as reviewers have said of other burners; also the bottom black part is metal. The enclosure can get fairly warm during use, but certainly not enough to burn yourself.

It looks like you could take out one screw and maybe get the coil out, or at least lift it to clean underneath, but I haven't tried, or there's a nut on the bottom that holds the two enclosure pieces together. It has rubber feet with decent grip, the cord is 43" to the end of the plug and it needs a three prong outlet. On mine, unlike the photo, the two lights are next to each other on the left end, otherwise it looks the same.

It does emit a chemically smell when it's on but that goes away for good after using it a bunch of times, and it's not really bad enough to stink up a whole room anyway, at least not for long, as the smell quickly dissipates. However, I don't know what it is, it smells bad, and I wouldn't inhale more than I had to; it does not smell like an electric heater.

Honest reviews on Toastess THP-517 Electric Single-Coil Cooking Range, Stainless Steel

I bought this range for cooking in hotels that do not have stoves. The range worked well, put out consistent heat and performed all the cooking tasks I needed. It is also lightweight and easy to pack in a bag. I would suggest the range to anyone stuck in hotels that have a need to cook their own food.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Toastess THP-517 Electric Single-Coil Cooking Range, Stainless Steel

When I first got this, it heated up very quickly. A 1.5 quarts of water in a 2 quart regular old stainless steel pot would be at a rolling boil in less than 2 minutes. The knob turns from 1 to 6, but even at the lowest 1 setting, it will be extremely hot. Food will be spilling out of the pot if you are not careful. Simmer does not exist. This is because the heat pretty much just cycles on and off but the heat retains in the coils very well. The pot of boiling water will stay hot enough to burn you for about 15 minutes, and it's just in a very thin, cheap stainless steel pot, not in some fancy heat retaining clay pots, or 3 layered copper steel pots.

With heavy use at about 3x a day for about 7 months, the thing finally started to die down a little. I could now use 1 at a low simmer and 6 at a boil. In the last month of its useful life, 1 through 6 was meager and barely producing heat. In my denial, I plugged it into different outlets to test the heat, but it was not the power outlet it was the dying cooking range. It had a good run, and because it is still a great buy for the price, I got a 2nd one to replace it.

Why is it greater than a $100 induction stovetop? I use stainless steel, copper, clay pot, cast iron, and sometimes leave it completely bare to quickly toast a slice of bread in less than 1 minute. Try throwing bread onto an induction stovetop when you toasted dies on you. You can't.

Pros:

+fast heat

+very high heat

+knobs and body of cooking range does not get hot, accidentally burning you. good design.

+red light to indicate if plugged in, green light to indicate if heat is on

+will heat up any type of cooking vessel

+doesn't take up much space

Cons:

+very high heat. will dry out your steaks

+lack of good temperature control for the first few months of use.

+difficult to clean because you can't get under the coils

For anyone who cares, the picture shows the power lights separated by Toastess logo in between, but actual product has the lights side by side on the left with the Toastess logo still in the middle.

Steel woodstoves like this one are designed to cast off heat quickly/don't reatin it well. Good for the weekend/ambience burner but for aprimary heat source I'd consider Cast Iron which stays hot longer. Also this stove burns differently, higher temps for more efficient burn.

Pros: This woodstove puts off some real heat once you get it going. This is the key phrase-see cons. Elegant apperance/pewter accents/chrome trim. Big glass viewing window. You dont need much clearance dut to rear heat shield. Ash drawer is better than I expected/very useful. The secondary burn is efficient and cranks up the thermometer. The price is about 1/2 of what local woodstove store charging for steel stoves.

ConsSpiral handle falls off. Woodstove can be hard to get going, testing your patience at times (plan on 1 hour for a good solid burn where you feel confident leaving the room!) I have a mason chimney. This heats our basement well but the upstairs rarely gets beyond the low 60's. The glass does get dirty with every burn despite the "self cleaning" but a little soft scrub works well. It is made in China despite the comapny being a U.S. company (what do the chinese know about woodstoves?) but again a fair price for the product.

I had to get a dolly to get this inside/2 person job. Three perosn job assemblimg (attaching firebox to pedestal...aprox 300 lbs.

This stove is fantastic! I replaced a Country Comfort built in 1986 for this EPA Wood stove and it is night and day difference. Fires are super easy to light, and get going very quickly. There is no visable smoke out of my chimney anymore, nor can you smell it outside. Comments about the woodstove being hard to light is NOT the woodstove.....It's the chimney. A chimney should go straight up with no bends in it, and also should be located on the inside of the house NOT on the outside of the house which most chimneys in North America usually are on the outside. Visit Woodheat.org for more info. Everything you want and need to know about wood burning is available on this reliable website. Search "evil outside chimney"

Purchased at Menard's, this was a 2100 sq ft heating source with up to 12 hour burning... well I have yet to see either of those things happen. This has not burned fully loaded with prime aged wood for more than a couple hours.

This is installed 20 feet from the thermostat and that still kicks in as it always has and it heats about 1/2 of the expected area. The door has to be left open a majority of the time to provide adequate ventilation flow or it just will just choke itself out.

Having wood stoves my entire life, this one is extremely disappointing and a waste of the time installing & the money to be perfectly honest. It is very handsome in the room, but that does not help lower heating costs.

I would suggest you look at another product.

Hot Massage Stone Warmer - 6-Quart Review

Hot Massage Stone Warmer - 6-Quart
Customer Ratings: 3 stars

I purchased this item along with massage stones, as it was listed as an additional item at the bottom of the page. I assumed this was a special kind of warmer, due to it being labeled a 'Hot Stone Warmer'. When I received it I was disappointed to discover it's just a big crock pot. Really...I could have purchased one cheaper at a dollar store somewhere to serve the same purpose.

Over all, the quality of the pot itself is pretty good. It has a standard, one-setting option for preheat, and is sturdy. With water and stone weight, the handles didn't crack or pop, and it held up nicely. The lid, however, is cheaply made.

Upon using it for the first time, we followed what few instructions it did come with where it explains to place a towel in between the rocks and the bottom of the pot to prevent them from getting too hot. Even with the towel, the water became extremely hot and unit emitted a burning odor, although we never found anything burning. It may have just been a new use sort of smell. I let the entire unit, rocks and all, cool for over an hour to get it to a comfortable/tolerable stone temperature.

Anyway, my hubby loved the hot stone massage as a whole... ;) once they cooled down enough to use.

I'm not impressed with what it is for the money I spent. Seriously, just go find a cheap crock pot or an old one at a yard sale, you'll do just as good and probably have more temperature options.

I bought this heater for our basement, which is perpetually colder than the rest of the house and near freezing during the winter. I was considering wall-mounted heating panels, but would have to install three in order to adequately heat our ~1000 sq ft baseement. This heater has proved to be a good choice overall. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros:

-Adequately heats large area (1000 sq ft basement kept at 66 F at 30% power)

-Lower power consumption (haven't noticed any jump in my power bill from using this)

-Cool to the touch even after hours of operating--the only part that gets somewhat hot is the vent itself on the front of the unit (totally safe for our young children and cats)

-No odors like kerosene or other space heaters produce

-Small size takes up very little space and easy to position anywhere in the room

-Portable--unlike wall-mounted heaters, this will easily move wherever you want it (this even has wheels)

-Simple operation--just three buttons total (included remote nice, but not needed)

Cons:

-No digital thermostat--although it was easy to figure out what setting keeps our basement at the right temperature

-Slow heating, requring about an hour to heat up a large space (I just leave it on continuously during winter)

-Circulation fans inside the unit make a mild noise, though not severe (can easily hear TV over the heater)

-While not bad-looking, its appearance is better suited for the basement or family room than next to fancy furniture (they have heaters of this type with wooden veneer that would probably work)

Despite some definite cons, such as no digital temperature reading, this is the best heater available based on its capacity (does the job of three smaller heaters) and low power consumption. If having a digital temperature control is a must, you could get an outlet thermostat (such as Lux WIN100 Heating & Cooling Programmable Outlet Thermostat), but I just leave the heater at a setting of 2 or 3 out of 8 and it does just fine through varying outdoor temperatures. Our basement is now a nice, warm play area for our pet and children thanks to this heater.

My husband and i bought this heater to heat our kitchen/dining area because we only have one source of heat, and that is a coal stove that is all the way at the other end of the house. The coal stove is plenty when the temp doesn't go below the 30's. But when it gets down into the 20's, teens or negatives, the coal stove just isn't enough! We had tried one heater before this and it just didn't work well enough so we sent it back. We live in a large log cabin so we needed something that was going to heat a large area. This duraflame heater works! The staircase to the second story of our house is also in the kitchen/dining area and this little heater also keeps our upstairs comfortable. I love the fact that we don't wake up freezing anymore when we have to get my 5 year old daughter off to school. The first thing she does when she wakes up is plop down in front of it. She loves it! I also like that it's cool to the touch so i don't have to worry about our dogs burning their coats if they get too close to it. Thinking about getting another one to heat the other half of the house and get rid of the coal stove. lol I would definitely recommend this little heater to a friend or family member. :)

I ordered this product to heat a block garage that is approx. 600 square feet. We use the space for band practice. It works so well I now use it inside of my house. I was told by several people that a portable heater would not be enough but this one is. It is cheaper to use than the kerosene heater that we were using, and helps out with the home heating bill. I highly recommend this product.

This heater works pretty well. I have both the Duraflame 8HM1500 and the EdenPURE Gen4. My findings are below.

Build quality: EdenPURE. The Duraflame noise is not so much the fan, but the whole unit. Put a heavy book on top of it and the

Noise level drops. Put carpet under the casters and it gets a bit more quiet. The unit just has more rattles.

Noise Level: EdenPURE, because of the above.

Heat/Funtionality: They both work well, both housings stay cool to the touch, so this is even.

Looks: EdenPURE looks a bit better once you see them in person. On the web I thought the Duraflame looked better.

Warrenty: EdenPURE.

The Duraflame works well at half the price, and they really are meant to supplement the whole house heating system, not work by themselves, and in that regard they work well. If the temp stays above 45 or so they can more or less handle the floor space they advertise all by themselves.

I purchased this heater to help with my electric bill. I can honestly say this is the best purchase I have ever made. The heater keeps the temperature at a comfortable 70 degrees and shuts off when the temperature is stable. I got my first electricity bill and WOW...It was only $162 compared to last year with running electric baseboard heat at $450. I would recommend and have recommended this product to others!!!

I have two of these, I no longer use them though. The first one , the valve screw broke and the second one had a leak in the seam.

I ended up buying a 7 gallon hard plastic jug

I like that these bottles are so cheap, have free shipping, are a white see through color so that I can see the water level and see if there is anything that should not be inside in it, have a removable spigot on the side, and they are collapsible. The bottles are relatively thinner plastic so I will not use that feature much in order to not stress out the bottles. They do the job for the cheapest amount of money I've found and that's basically what I like them for. I will get heavy duty quality water bottles in the future, I think.

Update 4-24-13

I also like that these bottles are really easy and very lightweight to carry. I leant some to my mother and she loved them. They're very easy to carry compared to a standard 5 gallon water bottle, even the wide mouth blue bottle with the tap. Although I like both.

I did get the bottle that leaked. It had a torn seam right out of the box. I had read that could happen in the reviews. I wish they were made sturdier, and then they'd be almost perfect. But, if you're willing to bet that you don't get too many leaky bottles, this is good. I think I would in the future just because of all of the great things about it. I'll see and I'll update my review later.

what can you say it holds water it seems in the limited time using it that there are no major problems, the little nozel deal can slide up a l;ittle which can lead to leaking but nothing major, the size is the real plus 5 gallons of H2O in a fairly small package (about as small as 5 gallons can get) easy to carry easy to refill, would buy again

Do not waste your money. Took on a 3 day primative camp trip. Cap will not tighten onto bottle without stripping out so it could not be used in a position to use the valve. Purchase a Reliance brand bottle instead, they have served me well.

This is a piece of junk. On first use i noticed it is nearly impossible to prevent a leak from the threads. After a couple of uses sitting on picnic tables or the ground, multiple punctures have developed, that I have had to patch. The plastic is cheap and easily punctures. Its depressing to get to the middle of nowhere and find an empty container with water all over the floor of your trunk. Coleman products are cheap, you get what you pay for. I am done with buying Coleman.

For three years we have had two of these Aube 7-day units controlling two zones of radiant heat from an oil-fired boiler. We have been very happy with their trouble-free operation. I later purchased another brand that was on sale but found it was not as convenient as the two Aube units I was using. I then decided to purchase a third Aube TH140-28-01 thermostat, and I again find it the easiest to program and use, and again it is a thermostat that evenly controls the room temperature. This new Aube unit is working adjacent to another radiant zone's manual thermostat and is connected to an LPG 3-sided glassed fireplace. We keep the radiant zone at 67F. The digital thermostat comes on at 6 AM abd warms the open living area and kitchen zone to 72F and maintains that temperature until evening when the digital drops back to 64F, which then allows the radiant portion to keep the floors warmed at 67F through the night. My result has seen a true cost savings of more than $200 half way through our cold Maine heating season. We are now the most comfortable we have been in the past four years. I truly recommend this Aube thermostat. It is easy to program and install.... and it looks nice on the wall. Also, if I over-ride the program momentarily, I leave the door cover open as a reminder that I need to return it to its programmed control.
