After just a year, my husband's control goes to "E" (for error?) when he'd move. The cord at his feet is always fully and tightly plugged in--so it seems to be a short in the actual surface area of the pad. Nothing we can fix. (We are both slim, with no pets or kids in the bed too. I haven't even washed it either.) Another drawback, is the plug-in being right where each of our feet are at the end of the bed. I'll definitely look for another brand.

Within less than a year, this item has heating elements that no longer work, leaving many cold spots in the bed. Additionally, the part where the cord plugs into the mattress cover is right where your feet hit. I'd take this back if I still had my receipt.

This heating pad is GREAT! You can feel the coils a bit if you just use it alone, but if you put another mattress pad over it, you can't feel anything besides the plug connection at the bottom, and that is not bad. AS for the heat, it is great for taking the edge off a cold bed before you go to sleep, and keeps the bed nice and warm without being hot!. I would recommend it to anyone. Controls are very easy to use and it is easy to set up. The dual controls are great since my wife likes it quite warm, but I like to turn it off after getting into bed.

The only complaint is the wires are quite noticeable.

I bought this model because it has dual controls and dual wiresets.

I won't ever use it, but my wife commonly "freezes" at night.

She says it's wonderful.

She usually runs it at 6 (out of 10) and is quite comfortable.

Bonus when one controller or wireset eventually breaks, I can swap it for "mine" and use it even longer.

So aggravated! I bought one of these first. Got it home, unpacked it, plugged both sides in and turned them to "H" one at a time. One side worked fine and the other went to "E" for error within two minutes. Made sure the cord was not compressed or tangled, unplugged it and plugged it in again. Still the same error. Switched the actual plug from one side of the mattress pad to the other, and it still did it. Returned the product for a new one since I REALLY wanted this product. The new one did the EXACT SAME THING! Tried everything...different outlets, switching the plug from one side to the other, tried keeping heat setting to a lower number...STILL ERRORS OUT. So frustrating.

This unit comes with its own wall switch: two rocker switches that control all four elements (light, night light, heater, and vent). Not needing the night light feature, at all, I decided to buy a separate Nutone switch Broan-Nutone P66W Fan Control Switch. The 3 unit switch works just fine.

The unit is heavy enough that it will get a bit tiresome installing it, but it's very sturdy overall. I am noticing some rattling issues, but it may not be level (there were three of us working on this, and I haven't had a chance to "check their work" yet...). Loosening the grille seems to silence the rattling somewhat.

We may just need to look things over again, but this fan doesn't pass the toilet paper test, at all. Holding a long, loose piece of tissue ON the fan doesn't even move the paper one iota. We may have something blocking the damper, but honestly, if we do everything we know to and there is still no suction? Those three stars are dropping to one. [09/16/11: We discovered that for whatever reason, using 2-ply toilet paper for your test yields the aforementioned results. 1-ply works just fine. hehe!]

The "heater" reminds me of a pellet stove in that it blows a lot of cold air around before the unit warms up; and even after warming up, the air still felt chilly because of the force of the fan (why can't the vent be this powerful and the heater be as calm as the vent??).

The particular model for sale on Amazon only comes with a white grille, but if you search the web for Nutone 9093CH you can find some sites offering the unit in chrome (likewise, there is a brass grille available as well. And the same site will sell you a grille only in the style of your choosing. Handy info to have if you're looking for this unit in something other than white.

This Nutone heater-vent is a replacement for a orginal installation. This was a perfect fit with the same wiring color code and hardware. The one I replaced had been in the house for over 30 years.

The shipment was on time and packaged great.

The heater is very functional and puts out a lot of heat from the ceiling. At first I was was concerned it would not heat as much as a floor heater no problem. It is fairly quiet for it's output but would not win first prize. The vent and fan are about even in their noise. The nite lite feature designed for the old pre fluorescent days is a little silly as it only has space for a 7 watt small incandescent which draws 50% of a fluorescent bulb likely used. We still use it, however.

I purchased this NuTone Heat-a-Ventlite to replace an 18 year-old NuTone model in our most used bathroom. Although I'm a fairly handy guy, I could not believe how easy it was to replace. NuTone should be commended for NOT changing dimensions, wiring schematics, etc. I simply unplugged the wiring harness, tilted out the old unit, tilted in the new unit and plugged the old wiring harness back in. It took me longer to clean the fixture cavity than it did to replace the unit. I would Highly recommend this product if you're replacing a previous NuTone model.

Replaced a similar heater by Nutone we had for over 20 years. This new one is very quiet, but does not get as hot as the older one. The air coming from the newer one gets to 148 degrees while the older one registered over 170 degrees. Replaced the newer heater box with the older one, but the temperature did not change. So I assume the amount of power to the box has been intentionally reduced, possibly as a safety measure.

I got one of these for my outdoor patio overhead fans/lights. The timer is good but I have used these and other wall based spring wound timer switches from Intermatic and they don't last more than 3-5 years. The timers quit. Still can be used manually but that's not what I am buying this product for. In that time, you make your money back from the savings without a doubt but be prepared to buy a new one as they will not last. I love the product, hate to be so honest about the lack of useful life but I think Intermatic knows as I've had over 12 of these (many with different timer settings) at my properties and only a few lasted over 5 years. Easy as a light switch to install. Several years of saving on wasted electricity makes this a good deal. I've tried other brands and they fail even sooner.

This short life is not representative of all Intermatic timers. The ones that are encased in a metal enclosure with a 24 hour timer and trippers that you can change have been in pools and electric water heaters for 20+ years without a problem except resetting the timers when there has been a power outage. They are great!

Update: One year later...still going strong!
