This is my first go around at storing food this way so I have nothing to compare it to. For some reason I can see storing food this way as a little addicting. I'm already planning more projects.I like the ease of the heater and it works very well. I thought I would "over heat" the seal but thats not the case. The heater itself is self explanitory as are the bags. Some folks use a clothing iron but this is more convenient and does a better job.
The oxy absorbers are packed 20 in a pouch. No issues there but as soon as you open them you have to work quickly. It's better to have 20 bags ready to go so you can pop the the little guys in there then seal them up. When it's done correctly, those absorbers are great.
All in all I'm happy with it. I can see the heater lasting for quite some time as long as I don't go cowboy crazy with it. It's a decent built quality all around but it's up to the user to take care of it. The bags are hefty but when sealed properly, then can be damaged easily. For example: I stored some pasta and one rouge piece was a little sharp. When stored in a 5 gallon bucket, that one piece damaged three other bags.
I will buy more bags but not another heater just because I won't have to.
