When I first saw this maker I was intrigued by it's sleek Euro-cool style. I was slightly dismayed by the fact that there is no timer, clock, or auto shutoff; however, those were properties I knew going in didn't exist.

After I started using the Villaware, I liked it ok. It made coffee in a standard way, no better or worse than any other pot I've used in the past.

I had it for six months and then the spring broke that lets you use the 'sneak-a-cup' feature. This is after completely normal use. Not too long after that, the pot's burner plate has burned itself off and it leaks from underneath.

This is the worst coffee maker I have ever used. Do yourself a favor and pass this one up. As for me, I'm going back to my handy standby--the Black and Decker SmartBrew Plus. Consumer Reports has this coffee maker listed as 'CR Best Buy', and I've never had a problem with it.

I purchased this coffeemaker and it has performed perfectly for about three years. I friend noticed it and was impressed with its style, so we purchased them one as a gift. The gift had flaws which made it unusable. The spring was installed improperly and the valve to shut off the flow was so low that the carafe could not be removed. We're not talking hard to remove, we're talking impossible to remove. Villawares customer service was a joke,..."Sorry we no longer service that model, it's discontinued."

Interesting and attractive design but very poorly made. The spring in the "Sneak a cup" valve broke in just a few weeks. Avoid the hassle and get a more reliable design

We have 3 of these and really like the fact you can program the thermostat right to the exact temperature you desire. It works very well on low setting and pumps out the heat on high. Buy with confidence.

Got this for supplemental heat in my (all too often) cool office.

I chose this particular unit because it has the option of running at either 1500W (like most) or 750W. Being able to run this at a lower power means I won't be utilizing most of the line's power capability & have less of a risk of blowing the circuit breaker.

It is quiet, save a few minor 'clicks' when it cycles on/off to maintain the set temp (digital setting to an exact number, much better than a nondescript dial going from 'low' to 'high' or some equally nonsense range of 1-10).

Timer function is nice, so it can be set to go off automatically, so no need to remember to turn it off. Accuracy on the timer is a bit sketchy, though. I set it for 9 hr after I get in, & it will go anywhere from the exact time to 15-20 min sooner. Not a major issue for me.

This would be a five star review if the description were accurate.

The description says it has a thermostat. There is none. It simply has Low and High, and you can get some variations in between. It does not regulate itself to maintain a desired temperature, as would be indicated by the description "thermostat".

To be honest, though... Based on the price, I pretty much figured that it would not have one, and it does what I expected it to do.

I think the description should be amended.

I am ordering the much more expensive 20k and 30k versions of this heater. I expect they will actually have a thermostat... hopefully.

Best constructed, best control knob system, best set of legs, best heat transfer.

I hooked it up at one end of a small apartment and it transferred the heat easily through-out the apartment even to a shower room just off the hallway.

I purchased this heater for a rental unit on the back of my house on hopes of reducing the electric bill. The blue flame option was what I needed since the space is limited and I dont want my tenant to complain about his furniture getting too hot or even himself by standing on front of it. Installation was kind of easy, I like the fact that it comes with expansors, and required screws, the only tricky part was to reach the back wall panel on the bottom to secure it to the wall.

Settings are low or hi, my tenant says that it works great and he is just not trying to find a happy point. Will be updating rating as I heard more from him.

This is the second Mr heater taht I got, and I cant said nothing wrong about it, We installed in then dinning area by the kitchen and keep's the area very very worm also We realize taht help to keep worm the rest of that house and spend almost NOTHING! We are very happy so far.

We did a lot of research before buying and am pleased to say these are exceptional for the money. Being that this heater is a duplicate knock off of the Dr. Heater we knew we were getting great heaters. We purchased our 1st one last fall and it's still going strong so decided to add another to combat the rising energy costs. We have electric baseboard heaters and they are too expensive to use. The automatic thermostats are very accurate and the heaters are easy to operate. You do have to let the heater run for a short while to burn off the oil smell. We heat a smaller ranch style home with these 2 and they keep the house at a nice comfy temp. I would recommend these heaters over the higher priced heaters to everyone.

I have had my heater now for a week and it works GREAT. We are toasty warm in our 800 sq ft area downstairs area. upstairs is not bad eaither but will be getting another to put upstairs before the real cold hits. This heater has a huge pair of shoes to fill, and frankly, I doubt it will be able to measure up. My first portable heater was a Tatung ceramic heater, a cube about 8 inches per side with similar wattage to the Soleil. Both heaters have fan-only/low/high operation with 1500W maximum (the Tatung might have been only 1200W...can't quite remember, and the Soleil actually has the reostat-type temperature/thermostat control as well).

My Tatung was in constant use during the cold months and it lasted 17 years of absolutely maintenance-free operation...UNBELIEVABLE!

I am all but positive that the Tatung was made in Taiwan. The Soleil is marked Made In China. And given my experience with Chinese electronics I would NEVER have purchased it if it weren't for the fact that I was in a bind. When I went to buy an alarm clock, I had to buy THREE before I found one that functioned straight out of the box. And there are a lot of goofy things I see in Chinese made products the dish rack where the bowls won't stand up, the socks that are so tight that they strangle your feet...don't even get me started about the rest of it. It's like they are playing craps with the specs and measurements. It's extremely irritating to have to deal with this type of thing. And people in the States are not aware of the fact that, in Europe, they get well-made German engineered products...it's we here in the States that get the crap from newbie engineers in China. That is just the reality of things.

Well, all that being said, this Soleil heater gives a very good first impression. The case itself seems solid. I like the brushed metal look and feel. The controls feel tough and they click in a sturdy way when engaged. Also, I must say, it is very nice to have a heavy-gauge power cord for once I haven't felt any heat in the cord, even after several hours of use. Ah soooooo, Thank you, Soleil! I am using it in a somewhat larger room than many might, so I cannot say how well the thermostat feature works (When I use heaters and air conditioners I usually like to max the output from what I hear they operate more efficiently in those conditions).

How did farmers use their milk house heaters? Not sure. Maybe they hung them up, but I am surprised that there aren't some optional plastic feet like your box fans come with, because this thing likes to tip over. But the good thing is that the auto shut-off is very sensitive. This thing shuts down if it tilts just an inch or two in any direction, so I suppose that is a good thing.

I haven't owned this for long, but I already have developed some confidence in this little box. But for now I am keeping my receipt anyway.

I looked around for a U.S. made milk house heater but to no avail. If anybody knows of one, please let me know. So I bought one of these. So far, works fine. But I also bought another brand, same style which I like just as a backup. Why? Because I know that this heater from RED China will not last. and maybe buying two of them is just what the greedy business types who have exported our jobs to RED China want. At any rate, I can tell you that for now it works fine. Years back, I had a U.S. made model that probably lasted 20 years. I don't expect that of this one.

By the way, for all of you who wonder what a milk house heater is, it is used to warm up the milk houses or milking parlors ---the place where the dairy cows are milked. It is not used to heat up the whole barn, that would be impossible for it to do.
