For the price this is the perfect fan for us. It is space conservative yet serves the purpose for which it was bought. Quiet sounded.Best Deals on Pelonis Ceramic Heater/fan 2 Heat Settings 1000/1500w
Despite the warnings and cautions printed in the directions, I use this little heater in a very cold, corner bathroom that often falls into the 50's on really cold days. Yes, on the highest setting, this little heater is an energy eater, but when in a really cold bathroom I don't care.My bathroom is large and adjoins a closet so it takes some oomph to warm the room. This little heater does the trick, though when taking a shower or shaving in there, I need to turn the heater on at least 15 minutes early.
The fan on this heater is a little noisy, but not obtrusively so. Once the room warms up, I turn the heater down to the lower setting to save a little energy with no noticeable discomfort to me.
The filter on the back of the heater gets dirty quickly and needs to be vacuumed or washed. Since the back plate is screwed on, I'd often neglect this chore rather than have to fetch a screwdriver. I finally just removed the little screw and left it off. Now the filter is more easily accessible and more often cleaned.
My main reasons for buying this heater were its reduced price at the end of the season and its small size. Perfect for a bathroom. One must take great care when using this appliance in a bathroom. Also be aware that the front screen gets rather hot and can burn.
Honest reviews on Pelonis Ceramic Heater/fan 2 Heat Settings 1000/1500w
I've had this heater for over a year (purchased in October 2009).I've used it a fair bit, but not a whole lot.
I've used it for heating small rooms (about 20 square meters; i.e. 200 square feet).
It does that very successfully. I haven't tried larger spaces.
It has worked perfectly.
The heat is good.
The fan is smooth and not very loud.
The casing feels sturdy.
It's small, so easily portable.
It has two controls: a switch controlling the mode (off/fan/low/high), and a fader which controls the thermostat.
Modes: "off" is what it says; "fan" just blows the fan without heat; "low" and "high" generate heat (at 1000W or 1500W respectively) and blow the fan.
Thermostat: The heater will automatically turn off if it gets too hot. The thermostat sets the temperature that equals "too hot". The control is gradual.
The controls are easy to use and haven't had any problems.
The mode switch has a motion which is a little soft (when it's in one position, it can move around that position a little). So it feels like it *might* eventually break, but that's only speculative so far it's been fine.
Overall, I'm very satisfied.
