I purchased this for my bed. I have fibromyalgia and the heat is very soothing. I usually keep it at 3 and when I'm having a bad night I bring it up to 5 or 6. I have never needed it warmer than that. It automatically shuts off after 10 hours. It does move a little with regular use, and I find I have to reach under the bottom sheet and move it back into place. Not really much of an inconvenience. It wasn't really intended for the way I use it, but it was the best solution for me.

We have only had this since Christmas but so far it works very well. One day it seemed to not want to warm and we were worried that it had already crapped out but it seems to be working fine now.
