Heater arrived with no way to turn it out...no knobs. Nothing which a knob might attach to. Absolutely worthless with zero quality control. Seller refused to remedy and referred me to manufacturer. Manufacturer convinced me to ship it back to them for replacement and and a month later, still no replacement. Between the cost of the heater and all the parts I had to buy to make it work (which ARE NOT the parts Amazon convinced me to buy), I'm out around $220. And still have a freezing cold cabin to contend with.
For some inexplicable reason, Amazon denied my claim and believed the Seller than the problem had been remedied stating "Tool Hardware Shop has closed your return request. The reason for the closure of your request is: Issued replacement without return" which is a blatant on both counts. I've been with Amazon for many many many years, but this had made me rethink my loyalty.
Save yourself the hassle and pick up a Mr. Heater and a local store.

I installed this heater three days ago and it has been in constant use. The installation instructions were complete and easy to follow. So far i am very satisfied; i think it is a great value. I have another LP gas heater that cost over twice as much and does not perform or look any better.Best Deals on Kozy World KWP192 15,000-BTU Vent-Free LP-Gas Infrared Wall Heater
I bought this little heater for a small building we converted to an art studio. the building is 12 by 24 and it has insulated walls and ceiling but not the floor. I was dubious about how well it would heat but it KICKS BUTT!! The temp outside has been in the teens and my little studio stays comfy on low. We keep it on low when I am not in it to keep it semi warm (Don;t want to ruin my materials), I bump it up to high for about an hours and eventually I am over warm and ready to turn it down again! I love this little heater! It is never warm in my building, but it puts out a lot of heat and keeps me very warm and toasty all day at work. It has an over-heat feature (automatic shut-off), which is especially good from a safety aspect, two heat settings, and an adjustable thermostat so that you can choose the level of warmth you prefer. It is also much quieter than other portable heaters I have used in the past. I would definitely recommend this product to others.
I bought the unit for the Travel Trailer to do some winter (Holiday) camping. Electricity is included in the site rent, so why not use an electric heater instead of using my propane? The trailer is 250 sq. ft. interior. I had to go to Home Depots web site to find that the unit only heats 150 sq. ft. It'd be nice to have that info on the box before opening. The unit is only good for a 20 degree ambient rise in temperature. So if it's 35 degree out, inside will be 55 degrees. A bit cool. You can buy the taller model, but it's still only rated 1,500 watts for 150 sq. ft. Home Depot carries my unit for $22. If the smell burns off, I might another and run both.

This thing is small, but heats a normal sized bedroom really well. It's not too noisy and has several different settings to adjust. It also isn't hot to the touch which is great for me since I have a toddler in the house that likes to get into everything. I decided to review this because I saw bad reviews and I have used this heater in a travel trailer I lived in for 18 months and it works great. I was googling how to clean it when I came across this site. This heater worked great for the price and I ran it many, many hours. I would not leave a portable heater with a fan on when I am not at home, if you need to do that I suggest you get a quartz, infrared, or oil filled portable heater with no moving parts. With that said there is a switch if a pet or someone knocks it over it will shut off. I would recommend periodically blowing it out with compressed air like the cans for computers if you use it a lot. I had to disassemble to clean the dust from mine which was easy except for two plastic corners that space the heating element that I did not see how they were set before they fell out. I figured it out an it's running like new. The initial smell when you purchase it is normal for all portable heaters and will burn off. As far the 150 square foot rating that is really a guess. Outside temperature, R-value of the walls, thermal mass of the structure are all things that effect that. For it's small size it puts out quite a bit of heat but it won't heat a 30 foot trailer in 5 degree F weather. Unlike an oil filled heater it instantly starts putting out heat and it is directional. For a small inexpensive heater it has run a lot of hours with no problems.Honest reviews on OceanAire HPG15B-M Warmwave Ceramic Heater

My unit gives off a "hot plastic" smell when turned on. It doesn't bother me that much, but the wife is concerned about the possible health effects the odor might have on the kids. I have a total of about 48 hours run time on the unit, and if the smell doesn't burn-off soon, then I'll have to take the unit back.I bought the unit for the Travel Trailer to do some winter (Holiday) camping. I just recieved this kettle to replace a rival hotpot. The Rival lacked an on-off switch. It also gave off some strange tastes and some say stainless is better than plastic that way.
I reheat coffee and heat canned goods in the hotpot as it's easier for me than the range and the wide opening on this hotpot allows one to clean it easily though the lid won't lift as far as you'd like.
On recieving this kettle my first thought was the base was of light gauge plastic seemed a little cheap. But I suppose that's ok if it turns out to be durable. Next I was amazed that the stainless vessel was of lighter gauge than I expected. This is probably all good though. Some reviewers of the other stainless kettles remark that they are heavy and get 'dangerously' hot. This one is actually reasonably light to maneuver. And if I boil 2 cups of water turning it off myself which is before the automatic shut off the stainless is just warm at the top; not really hot. If it doesn't wear out this is fine for my needs. Also it looks like the picture. I give it one star for the appearance of the polished stainless, but that is subjective. Have to admit though, it cleans good.
3 year later: Still works fine and I've fired it up every day 3-5 times. V Fine.

It is compact and does not take much room on your counter, very quick and so far nothing negative to say about it at all.
This electric hot pot boils water just about as fast (I tested it myself). But it doesn't whistle and shuts itself off when it reaches a boil. AB recommended this one because of the large opening, and true to his claim, you can indeed cool the perfect hard boiled egg 6-7 at a time, actually. I love that it doesn't live on the stove where it collects grease (I've wiped the outside down twice in a year). I love that it's cordless. The only "downside" is that when I make tea, I make 2 qts at a time and the capacity on this is only 1.5 qt, so it could be just slightly larger (Oh and don't try to heat milk based things in it the clean up is horrid I tried to heat up chai in it).

I have had this kettle for about a year, and have been very happy with it. However, a couple weeks ago I started having the problem that many other reviewers here have complained about, the on/off switch not staying on. Curious, I opened up the bottom of the kettle, and found the two wires going to the heating element had melted together, causing an intermittent short. I have reported this to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, and I hope that something will be done.Best Deals on Chef'sChoice M675 International Cordless Electric Hot Pot
This has all the feature I wanted when I was looking for a electric pot to heat water for coffee. Its stainless steel so no plastic taste. Lid opens wide so its easy to fill and clean. No element inside the pot to interfere with cleaning the inside. It lifts off the base so that you can take it to the table. The large window shows the water level. This is our second one of this model. We had the first one for years until we broke it. The new one has a improved spout so that water pours out without spilling on the counter. I can't imagine someone buying any other model when this one has all the features you need for a heating water for coffee of tea..Grannie Annie

This is the best I have found. I tried the Cuisinart kettle but the solvents used on the plastic parts (including inside) gave the water a terrible taste and smell. I bought this because, let's face it, Alton Brown just rocks. He recommended it "Gear for your Kitchen". I was sick of using my regular stove top teakettle it would collect grease and dirt, requiring scouring on a regular basis. I had a particular heating problem. I have a spa room built outside the house over an old cement patio about 6 feet from my back door, so it does not have access to the central heat. The room is not insulated, and has about 1/3 glass windows so I can look out into the yard while in the tub. I'm telling you all this so you will understand that the area is not easily heated. It is used for only short periods of time, so I didn't want to heat it 24/7. Without heating, the room is probably only 4 degrees warmer than the outdoor temperature.
In very cold weather, without a supplemental source of heat, I simply cannot abide undressing in 40° or less, even if the spa itself is nice and warm. So I bought a series of inexpensive heaters, none of which would do anything except heat the few feet around the heater. Then I saw the Laslo which said it had a "push" system to get the heat into the room. Having no idea what the "push" entailed, I bought it, knowing I could return this heater, as I'd done with the previous two, if it did not fill my needs. But I did not need to return it. It works for my purpose.
The unit is attractive, is tall and narrow so can fit into a small area, yet throw out heat sufficient to allow me to undress, use the spa, and re-dress in comfort. Then I turn it off. (I preheat the room easily using the digital brightly lit, large LCD thermostat which shows the ambient temperature, and moves up as the room heats. This a.m. the room started at 43° and now, after 15 minutes, it is up to 50° already. If I open the lid of the spa it will heat even more rapidly, of course). The room contains 3 exercise machines, also, so we can now exercise in comfort, as well. I have no need for the remote control which comes with the unit since I'm either in water or on a machine while using it.
I highly recommend this heater.
I think the heater is worth a try. The fan on high is not very loud, although you can readily hear it. I'm a light sleeper and I had no problem going to sleep with it on. It's a lot less noisy that the top-rated Vornado I own. Heaters with no fans don't distribute the heat very well so that was not an option for me; I knew there would be some noise with any fan. Would I buy this heater again? Yes, knowing what I know now, and I will follow up if my experience changes over the next several days.
Efficiency
This heater does a good job of maintaining a comfortable living temperature. I set the temperature as I would a thermostat adjusting it to around 60 when I am going to be gone a long time, and raising it when I am home. I did find that if let the ambient temperature get two low while I am away, it will take the heater a long time to warm up the entire place, so I have a second smaller space heater that I use intermittently just to offset any excessive winter chill.
Thermostat Accuracy:
The digital thermostat is fairly accurate once the heat is circulated throughout the room , however, when it first turns on there may be up to a five degree difference in temperature based on how far away you are from the heater. When I return home I usually se the thermostat a few degrees higher than my target temperature and turn it down after I have been home awhile. I have another thermostat on the opposite side of the room, as well as a ceiling fan and have found that after about 20 minutes or so the ambient temperature evens out.
Cost vs other heat sources
This heater produces a LOT of heat and so will use a lot of electricity if run continuously as I do. For comparison I had been paying hundreds of dollars to heat my apartment when I had gas but running this heater as my sole heat source (on high) will cost me between 40 and $100 per month depending on how cold it is. We had a month last year where it was regularly 14 to 30 degrees below zero for more than two weeks and this heater kept me warm, but it added about $100 to my electric bill. So if you have a primary heat source other than this one, remember to turn it down as low as possible, and to block off unused areas or you will counteract any savings this powerful little heater might provide.
The unit cycles to maintain a temp in auto mode by going 2 degrees over and under your set temp. So if you have it set to say 60 it will turn on at 58 and off at 62. I like this feature as it runs less overall. The rotation feature is smooth and quite, like the fan. The only loud thing on it is the thermostat, it makes an audible click like a bottle cap pop when the unit cycles on and off. Did not bother me but thought I would mention it. This thing puts out a lot of heat for its size and I was really amazed at how small it was, tucks in a corner nicely. Its perfect for an office, small bedroom (10x10), hallway or porch...
I monitored this unit with a Kill-a-watt power meter and @ .22cents per kw this unit is running about $24 per month to heat an uninsulated hallway in in old victorian home. We have it set @ 62 deg and the unit cycles on as needed. TO give you an idea its been about 25-30deg outside and the hallway befor the heater was 44 deg on average, colder overnight. So its raising the temp about 18deg for us ...huge diffrence...and worth it.

The heater work well in that it heats the room by several degrees (starting at 69) in just a few minutes. We used it last night for the first time in our 14'x15'x8' bedroom and after some experimentation put the thermostat at 75 degrees. The instructions say that in the automatic mode the unit will radiate heat until 77 degrees is reached and shut off at 74 degrees. It does shut off when the LED indicates the room temp. at 74 and stays on until 76 degrees (not 77). However, there is a disconnect between the digital thermometer in my room and the one on the heater. My digital thermometer indicates a low of 71.4 F. and a high of 75.4 F. I'm willing to live with that and the trick is to not be concerned about what's on the LED of the heater but what is the actual temperature of your room. I've never seen any heater's temp readout be accurate. Will exchanging it matter? I don't know, but if the room were to become too cold or hot during a given cycle I would exchange it. There seems to be no such thing as a perfect heater, so compromises need to be made. I find it confusing that there are about seven Lasko heaters within the same price range but numbered differently so I was not able to determine which one would best for my needs. I got this one because it was the only Lasko they had at Bed, Bath and Beyond.I think the heater is worth a try. The fan on high is not very loud, although you can readily hear it. This ceramic space heater has two fan speeds. Both speeds are quiet considering their blowing strength. The heater can oscillate, moving about 45 angle degrees back and forth on its little lower section; this is very smooth, not jumpy like some cheap oscillating fans. The room temperature is displayed normally on a very bright LED readout that shows the set temperature once you go to set the built-in thermostat. All the buttons are easy to access and give a light beep for confirmation. You can turn oscillation on or off, set high or low fan speed, set temperature, or use an automatic shutoff timer up to 8 hours. Looks great, with a great fit and finish.Honest reviews on Lasko 5521 Ceramic Tower Heater
This will be my 3rd winter with this heater. I live in a cabin, (yes literally a cabin), but it is insulated and is small enough that it doesn't have a furnace. I use this heater in my main living space. It stays on all winter once the temperature begins to drop below freezing and has worked really well.Efficiency

This unit is used in an uninsulated hallway to take the chill off, thaw out boots and clothes, and keep the cold draft out of the house. Review of Dyson AM05 Hot + Cool Fan Heater
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program
I have been intrigued with the Dyson Hot + Cool Fan Heater for a few years. I remember checking one out at a big box housewares store and was just thinking how interesting the design was but equally amazed at how high the price was. The design was certainlly clever and modern but it was not clear to me whether the performance could equal the expecatation and cost. I finally have a Dyson Hot + Cool thanks to the Amazon Vine program and I've been putting it through some serious testing and usage. My video review will cover most of my thoughts but I"ll highlight some of my thoughts here. After using it for nearly a year in both cold and hot conditions I am able to say it is NOT very effective as a fan and marginally more effective as a heater.
Let me be clear about one thing, the device name is totally misleading. It is called "Hot + Cool Fan Heater". It is NOT a cooler. It does not cool air whatsoever. An air conditioner cools air. This is not an air conditioner... it is a fan and it is not very effective as a fan because the air flow is simply too weak to be effective. Additionally it is very loud during operation.
I do like the look of this heater/fan. It's very modern and futuristic. Its slim design will enable it to be put in some otherwise tight spaces and will also look quite modern and elicit many comments, I'm sure.
The actual performance is poor. As a heater, it works pretty well, but only in a smaller square foot area. Since the head can oscillate back and forth, it sill distribute a warm flow of air fairly effectively in smaller rooms. Normally the thermostat in my house is set to 62 degrees during the overnight. I set the Dyson Hot + Cool downstairs in the living room. The entire downstairs area is approx. 900 sq feet but but has a relatively open floor plan so about 3/4 of that square footage could essentially be considered one room. The Dyson managed to keep the temperature right aroun 68 degrees all night long. The Dyson temperature had been set to 70 and as far as I know, it never attained 70 degrees. I'm pretty sure it ran continously all night long. I thought that being able to maintain a 68 degree temperature in that size space was pretty good though since it's still winter where I live and if the heater had not been on, it would have dropped to 62 degrees inside. If a smaller room were being used, it would heat the room to a higher temperature.
As a "cooling" fan, I was not impressed. There is simply not enough velocity or volume of air to be very effective as a fan. Not only that, but the Dyson is loud especially when the fan is operating at its highest setting. At the low setting it's not that loud, but then it's much less effective too. So to get a significant fan effect, you have to turn the speed up to a level much higher than "low."
I do like that the fan oscillates and also tilts. Howver, in my use of the fan, there was a significant amount of wobble in the head of the unit when it was tilted and oscillating. In fact at one point the unit almost vibrated or wobbled itself off the edge of the counter it was sitting on while I was out of the room. I could not believe my eyes. When the head is straight up with no forward or backward inclination, it's fine.
The remote is useful and magnetically attaches itself to the top of the head when not in use. But in my video you will notice at one point the remote slides off the top when I tilt the unit so the magnet is not as strong as it should be to hold the remote securely.
If you are a design forward kind of person or just admire the "genius" of Dyson, this fan will probably appeal to you. It's more flash than function in my opinion. If you're thinking that for the price it's got to be one incredibly effective fan and heater, you'd be mistaken. For the price, it's one awesome looking piece of equipment, but performance is not so hot (no pun intended.)
For my money, I"d rather buy a seperate floor standing fan, or box fan, that can really push some air and at significantly less cost. The Dyson can't even compare.
As a heater, it's pretty cool (sorry again, no pun intended) but again, expensive. I have a small, square, ceramic heater that is very quiet and effective. I think it cost around $40-50.
One worry I have and that I can't address until I've used this for a much longer time, is how much dust will collect in the air intake holes on the lower section of the unit. I've had other devices with similar looking holes and over time you get this very fine and hard to remove collection of dust buildup that would also reduce air flow. Internally dust might build up somewhere too. I have no idea how that would affect the already mediocre performance... or how to clean it. And the air output venturi would also collect dust over time and have to be cleaned.
I guess the Dyson and me aren't a good fit. It's cool looking as heck but I just don't think it lives up to my expectations of performance for something that costs this much. I can see this fitting in to certain decors really well though. And its slim design does enable it to fit in what would otherwise be tight spaces for other more conventional fans/heaters.
UPDATE: 6/3/2013 Having used this over the winter and now during some really hot weather, I'm reducing my rating to 2-stars. For the price, this just doesn't provide a commensurate level of performance. I would not recommend unless you just want to make a fashion statement but don't really care so much about effective cooling or rock-solid mechanical performance.
1. I am saving $300 per month on heating because the coldest member of the household is now warm enough and not using the whole house forced air heater to cook everyone.
2. It warms up a 15' x 15' bedroom fast about 90 seconds fast.
3. The cats and dogs and children never get near any moving parts that might injure them there are no moving parts.
4. There is no risk to anyone touching the heater it does not get hot to the touch.
5. It is quiet on low it is silent on high it is barely audible.
6. It is working all day and all night everyday for 8 months and has not crapped out.
7. It looks terrific. I redecorated and the style and beauty of the device adds to the modern design.
8. The remote control works perfectly.
9. It is enduring some rough handling amongst family members and guests and pets without busting.
10. It will get the room as warm as anyone wants to get the room. If someone doesn't feel well and wants it at 90F then it will deliver.
11. The animals are not afraid of it.
This is the best three hundred bucks I spent in the past six months. I am overjoyed that I took a chance and purchased this awesome heater despite the negative reviews. We are enjoying this heater, benefiting from this heater and I still love to marvel at its elegant engineering innovative design. So happy. Seriously pleased.
12. It's July and I have to add this fan cools. I don't understand how it blows cool air on a hot day but it does. There is no cooling component but the air from the Dyson is at least 10 degrees (F) than the rest of the room. Very refreshing.
8 months of daily use and we LOVE the dyson. And it looks great. I give it a wipe every so often because the air inputs attract dust. That's it for maintenance. I would love more well engineered products. It saved our household a lot of money during the winter. I will take a look at the heating bills one day and share how much. I really don't like many products, and I don't review most what I purchase. I haven't found a flaw yet.
On the design... For such a sexy form factor, I do not know why on earth they would have a black electrical cord for the white/silver fan... I would be willing to bet that everyone that chooses the white/silver fan would prefer a white or grey electrical cord.
On the performance... The "cool mode" simply blows air and doesn't actually cool. The product description and product packaging are incredibly vague (I suspect intentionally) about what the cooling function actually is. After using it for a while, I didn't notice it actually cooling the air at all, so I decided to run a test. I measured the temperature in my room with a precise thermometer. I then put the Dyson in "cool mode" blowing air directly onto the thermometer from around 2 feet away. The temperature did not changenot even by a fraction of a degree.
The fan has 10 wind speed settings1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest. When set to 10, I find the fan quite loud actually. That is, loud compared to my $45 Lasko Pedestal Fan (that also oscillates and came with a remote!). Also, compared to my Lasko the Dyson wind power is significantly less. The Dyson at 10 is comparable to Lasko at medium. The Dyson also has a much smaller "wind target region" compared to the Lasko which is less effective. The oscillation function works well and the fan can be tilted up or down. Note, the magnetic remote usually falls off when tilting in either directiona slight annoyance and a detail you would expect to be covered given the price of the fan. If you like cool yourself in bed, you'll likely need to place it on a small table as it is too short to reach a bed, even when tilted.
In "heat mode," I did notice a slight burning smell on first use, but it quickly went away and did not return on subsequent uses. The heating works quite well and in a test, it brought the temperate of my bedroom from 62 degrees to 72 degrees in around 20 minutes when set to 10 and with oscillation turned on. In my living room, the "heat mode" consistently blew my fuse when used while watching the television (it didn't in cool mode though).
Overall, this Dyson is less performant than both fans and heaters that can cost less than $50. Unless money isn't an issue and you care more about the visual appeal of the fan than how well it works, this just isn't a good buy.
In simple terms, it is WAY too noisy, to the point that I no longer use it, and therefore have wasted my $300+.... so disappointing for a Dyson product to be so poorly designed.
We currently live in a spacious one-floor apartment in the outskirts of Chicago. As of now, it's the tail end of winter here, but, as we've only been in the apartment less than a year, this was our first winter in the new pad. The apartment itself is great, but it's in a very old building with very little updates throughout the years.
The room in which I keep my office is one of those updates, as it seems it's an addition. As such, it doesn't have heating in there, so it can get very cold at times, especially when my wife closes the door during the day. I like to stay up at night on my computer or reading in there, so having the cold doesn't help.
Okay, so on to the heater. When I had the opportunity to order this heater, I jumped on it without hesitation, knowing exactly where I'll be using it. My wife bought a Dyson vacuum, and I like the design of it, though I think it's clunky. So the fan/heater was something to which I greatly looked forward.
When it arrived, the box was very simplistically designed and easy to remove the heater from. You only really have to assemble the base onto it, and that's it. Batteries are included, and the heavy-duty cord is more than long enough for my use. The instructions aren't really necessary, as you can figure out how to operate it from the get-go. The only two things I took away from them were that I can tilt the fan itself to have it pointing down or up, and that upon turning it on I have to wait for it to complete a cycle to figure out the temperature of the room. That's it.
At first use, I wasn't thoroughly impressed with it. I thought it would remain constantly on, though I've figured out later that it sets itself at the room temperature, much like an A/C. Since I really wanted it to aim at my feet, which get the coldest, I was disappointed as my feet were still slightly cold, especially when the heater went idle. But then I messed around with it.
The included remote (which can attach itself to the unit via magnets) is spot on the controls on the unit itself. There's the on button, oscillation, power level, and temperature. The stronger the power, the more it'll blow out, useful if you have it in a bigger room. Upon raising the temperature and the power level, as well as tilting it lower, I was able to get how I wanted it the next night, and my feet were great, let alone the rest of my body and room. Oh, and silly me left the door to the rest of the apartment open, which didn't help control the temperature within my office. Thanks to my wife for pointing out that glaring flaw.
In the end, I am pretty happy with the Dyson heater/cooler. The only real issue I have is with the price. I told my wife I was going to give it four stars, docking one for the price. I feel like the price should be around $150, honestly. But I don't know all that goes into making a device like this, as well as the included features. My wife agreed, but explained that Dyson is a higher-end brand; once she saw the magnetized remote, however, she said I should give it five stars--she thought it was the coolest thing ever. Oh, her...
It's great, and I'm glad I can finally stay comfortable in my office in late winter nights.
***UPDATE 03/03/13***
After a little less than a week of using this product, I'm afraid I have to change my review. I'm not sure if I received a faulty product or what, but I will contact Dyson for support in any case. I tried looking up support on their website, but since this specific model is still very nascent in the public world, there was no help I could find for AM05.
As you read before my update, I use this fan/heater for my office in the back of my apartment, which gets really cold in the winter. As of this writing, it's 20F outside. Since there is no heating in my office, I cannot imagine it is warmer than 77F--the temperature at which my Dyson is set, and it's not running at all. After the second day of use, I noticed that my heater didn't start at the last temperature at which I had it. "Okay," thought I, "it may be that it's a bit warmer tonight." I raised it a few notches and...nothing. I initially had it at 65F the first couple nights, and by the third night it didn't start warming up till I had it at 75F.
So the next couple nights were the same, and I tried unplugging and plugging the thing, which didn't do any help. The unit doesn't start working unless I raise it more, and right now it's at 77F and it's still idle. "Is it really 77 in here?" I asked my wife. "No, that's impossible," she replied. "It's freezing in here."
So, I will contact Dyson and update as needed. It's a shame, because when the unit *is* working, it's awesome.

***UPDATE 05/16/13***
I finally had a chance to send my "defective" product, and promptly received a replacement.
So far so good. The one I have now seems to be fine, and has read the temperature sort of accurately. Though it's now much warmer out here in Chicago (70Fs), I'll be updating this review at the end of the year once it gets colder again and I can properly utilize the heating feature.
The cooling fan is fine, though you have to set it really low for it to switch to blue. It's able to blow enough cool air into my little office to the point where I'm comfortable without cranking the A/C. (Though I really don't need to do that yet as it's not immensely hot out for now.)

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I'll give it to Dyson... They've taken a very boring household appliance and made it sexy and cool. The design of the AM05 is super slick, elegant and very futuristic. But at $400, a cool design is not enough; to justify the price point it needs to drastically outperform standard fans and space heat by orders of magnitude. Sadly, it doesn't even come close. The packaging is quite minimal and the only assembly required is to pop the fan in the base which takes a few seconds. On the design... For such a sexy form factor, I do not know why on earth they would have a black electrical cord for the white/silver fan... I would be willing to bet that everyone that chooses the white/silver fan would prefer a white or grey electrical cord.

I love this little heater and have not had any problems with rattling my only complaint is that the cord get hot if left running for too long so I never use it unless I'm around it. great swivel actions allows the whole room to be heated and if a child or animal knocks it over it automatically turns off.I would recommend getting this for a personal heater it can be used camping too!I first bought this heater and had to exchange it within a week because it rattled loudly I was using it at work and my coworker complained. The second one was fine for a while but within a couple of months began to rattle extremely loudly, especially at the beginning when you first turn it on, but even after that it rattles very loudly.
